Hmmm…Seems our Sadie Adler…Has just experienced a Revelation. Agent Milton and Agent Ross. The Orchestrators of Jake Adler's Death…and Sadie Adler's Torment and Anguish. Now, want Sadie Adler dead…she finds herself…in a standoff with four O'Driscolls…working for Agent Milton and Ross.

Could she survive this? Or would she die? The most logical statement…is no…She will not die…she is not destined to die here…unless…she herself…makes that mistake.

As always…Only one way to find out…

-Chapter 7- Know thy self, know thy enemy

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Sadie had let loose four shots into the O'Driscolls…and each had hit all of them in the heads. They dropped dead where they stood. Sadie stood there, frozen. She found it hard to breathe at the moment. She slowly looked down…and saw three bullet wounds, one on her chest, one on her shoulder…and another on her gut…Blood started to ooze out from bullet holes.

She looked up as her face went pale. She slowly started to lose her balance as she fell on her back. Jack came out from the rock he had hidden behind and ran to Sadie.

"Mrs. Adler!" Jack shouted as he ran to her. He fell to his knees and put his hands on her shoulder.

"Mrs. Adler…what do I do?" Jack said as he was on the brink of crying. Sadie's horse started to neigh loudly. He trotted toward the fallen Sadie. He was in distress, his owner was dying. Sadie looked at Jack with barely any life in her eyes. She placed a gentle hand on Jack's chest.

"Jack…Go…Back…*breathing labors*...Get…Dutch…" Sadie said weakly, she was on the brink of death. Felt like a bullet had hit one of her vitals.

Sadie's Horse then knelt down on his knees, bending down to where Jack could get on.

"Mrs. Adler, I don't wanna leave you!" Jack shouted. Sadie gently brushed the back of her hand on Jack's cheek, wiping a few tears.

"...G-...Go…Jack…" Sadie said weakly. Her Horse neighed again, this time at Jack. Jack looked at Sadie's Horse and tried to climb on the saddle with great difficulty.

Once Jack was latched onto the saddle, Sadie's Horse got back on its feet and started to gallop back to camp. Hoping to go and get help.

Everything started to go fuzzy for Sadie. Everything seemed yellow, and the atmosphere around her felt blurry but calm.

"I always loved you, Sadie, You're a helluva woman," Jake's voice was heard.

Sadie looked around weakly.

"Wow, thanks Mrs. Adler for taking me fishing," Little Jack's voice was heard this time.

Sadie's breathing continued to labor heavily.

"Well, How about that? Thank you, Mrs. Adler, for taking part in helping us out," The voice of Dutch was heard, complimenting Sadie for what she did.

Sadie let out heavier breaths.

"Here, take this, it's better than that knife of yours," The Voice of Arthur was heard this time. Then Sadie could see something walking toward her.

It came right over top over her, staring at her…

It was a Whitetail Buck, staring at her in the calmness that surrounded it.

The Buck then slowly started to walk off…Knowing that it wasn't Sadie's time to die…not yet…

Everything around Sadie started going dark…but it wasn't the atmosphere…her eyes were giving out.

She let out a few other breaths until they went quiet…her eyes closed…and the last thing she saw…was a Whitetail Buck, walking off away from her, down the creek.

Meanwhile…With Jack…

Sadie's Horse knew what to do. Get Jack to the rest of the gang and warn them about Sadie.

Jack was holding on as tight as he could, tears streamed down his cheeks and eyes. The Horse galloped fast to the camp.

It started to make its way up to the entrance to Horseshoe Overlook.

"Who's There!?" The voice of Bill was heard, but the Horse ran right past him. Bill looked at it with confusion.

"Jack?" Bill said with confusion. He knew something was wrong. He started to sprint up the hill and follow the horse.

The Horse stopped in the middle of the camp. Neighing heavily.

Catching the attention of everyone present in the camp. Including Dutch and Molly. Abigail and John caught a whiff of it…and saw their son slowly trying to get off the horse.

"Jack? JACK!" Abigail shouted as she ran to her son.

"Jack!" John shouted following his wife.

Jack was crying heavily as Abigail scooped him up in her arms.

"Jack, what happened? Where's Mrs. Adler?" Abigail asked as she held her son closely. John placed a caring hand on his son's shoulder. Jack started to cry and wheep in his Mother's arms.

"Mrs. Adler was shot by a bunch of men…she was bleeding badly!" Jack cried out. Everyone gathered around. Dutch came forward.

"Where?" Dutch said.

"Down near the river, Mrs. Adler was helping me fish…and then a bunch of guys showed up…They said Mrs. Adler's husband owed them and they shot her!" Jack cried. Dutch was not having it.

"Over my dead body. Charles, Javier, John, Ride with me! Lenny, Bill, shoot any man who looks strange. Let's get her back!" Dutch said as he mounted The Count. With Charles, Javier, and John mounting their horses.

Sadie's horse began to neigh as it spun in a 180-degree circle and started to gallop toward where Sadie was.

"We follow her horse, we'll find her, Let's Ride!" Dutch said as his horse took off with Javier, Charles, and John following suit. Galloping after Sadie's Horse.

Abigail began to comfort her son.

"It's okay, Jack, it's okay," Abigail said as she held him close to her.

"Momma, they're gonna hurt Uncle Arthur too," Jack said as he hugged his mother tightly.

"It's okay, Jack…It's Okay…Dutch will take care of it…It's alright, you're safe," Abigail said as Mary-Beth, Miss Tilly, and Molly came and circled around Jack to comfort him. Bill and Lenny stood guard at the front, with their Carbine Repeaters in hand, ready to shoot any intruders that came their way.

Back with Sadie…

Sadie could feel herself slowly waking up…but she also felt her back sliding across the ground…Wait…was she being dragged. Sadie slowly opened her eyes, everything was foggy. But she could see someone dragging her by her foot. It looked like a man…like an O'Driscoll. He dragged her under a tree and dropped her leg…where more men stood over top of her.

"Good morning, gorgeous…still alive, now are ya," One of them said as they started to kick Sadie in the side. When one did it, the entire lot of them started kicking her. Beating her harshly. Stepping on her arm and legs. Sadie let out grunts of pain. One bent down and punched her in the face, forcing her to look to the side as she was beaten heavily.

One used the butt of his rifle and smashed it down on a gunshot wound on her gut. This caused her to yelp in pain. They paused for a moment, ceasing to beat her. Sadie then coughed a little…then coughed blood as it oozed out from her mouth.

"Aww, well ain't this something…and to think, that this was the bitch that killed our boys in Valentine," One of the O'Driscolls said as they all got a laugh out of it.

Sadie tried to refocus…but found it difficult to move her body.

One O'Driscoll came forward with a Double-barrel Shotgun aiming it straight at her face.

"Say, night night," He said.

But then a gun cocked.

"No…" A Familiar voice was heard behind the O'Driscoll.

"You, say, Night Night," It sounded like Dutch. The O'Driscoll slowly turned his head to see Dutch standing there, with a Lemat Revolver leveled right in front of his head.

The other O'Driscolls were about to aim their weapons at Dutch, but out of the brush, Charles, Javier, and John wrapped their arms around them. Charles threatened one O'Driscoll with his Sawed-Off-handed Shotgun, pointing it in his back. Javier had a knife to another O'Driscolls' throat. And John had his Cattleman Revolver aimed directly at his head.

Dutch stared at the O'Driscoll in front of him, who looked terrified.

"Drop the gun, son," Dutch said. The O'Driscoll was a little hesitant due to the fear. Dutch then motioned his gun to the ground. This time, The O'Driscoll dropped the gun and put his hands up.

"Good," Dutch said…BANG!

The O'Driscoll was shot in the head and fell next to Sadie. Dutch twirled his Lemat Revolver around and slipped it back in his holster. He looked at Charles, Javier, and John. Who were waiting for the order.

"Kill 'em," Dutch said. With that, Charles shot his Shotgun through the man's back, blood splattered from it as it left an opening in his back through his gut. Javier slit the other O'Driscolls throat. John fired his Cattleman Revolver in the man's head and tossed the body to the side.

They all looked at Sadie and immediately went to aid her.

"You lucky woman…thank god we got to you in time," Dutch said as Charles and Javier wrapped Sadie's arms around their shoulders and helped her up. Sadie was very dizzy and had very little focus.

"Thank you…All of…you," Sadie said weakly as she was barely able to support herself. They helped her to her horse which seemed happy to see its owner alive. Dutch and John followed on.

"Dutch…Colm…he's working with Pinkertons…the one's that're after ya…" Sadie said weakly.

"Of course he would, let's not worry about right now, Sadie, let's get you back home," Dutch said as he mounted The Count. Charles and Javier gently lifted Sadie onto John's horse, putting her on the back of it.

"You're horse is pretty loyal, we wouldn't have found you if not for it," Charles said as Sadie weakly got situated.

"The damn O'Driscolls will get what's comin' to 'em," Javier said as he mounted up his horse. Sadie let out a few heavy breaths of recovery.

John mounted his horse.

"Don't worry, Mrs. Adler, we'll getcha patched up," John said.

"Let's go," Dutch said as his Horse and everyone else's horse followed Dutch.

They rode for a little while. But Sadie needed to tell Dutch…Arthur was in danger…grave danger…

"Dutch…" Sadie said weakly, but couldn't quite muster a full sentence.

"Save your strength, Sadie, you can tell me when you've recovered," Dutch said. But they didn't have time! Arthur didn't have enough time! It would be too late by the time Dutch and everyone else would know about Arthur.

"Arthur…they're gonna…they're gonna go after…him…" Sadie said to Dutch, trying to muster out as much as she could.

"What?" Dutch said as he looked behind him at Sadie. This also caught everyone's attention.

"Arthur…found something…he thinks he can make…a lot of money…but…a bunch of…O'Driscolls are chasing him down…" Sadie said breathing heavily.

"Where?" Dutch said, this time growing more nervous.

"Mount Hagen…" Sadie said, weakly.

"What in the world would Arthur find there?" John said.

"Even if there was something up there, what makes him think there'll be some worth taking?" Javier asked.

"That doesn't matter right now, as soon as we drop off Sadie at Camp, We're gonna go look for him," Dutch said as they approached Camp.

"Bill, Lenny, We're coming through!" Dutch yelled. Lenny and Bill came out from the brush.

"Mrs. Adler! You don't look so well," Lenny said.

"I've…been better…" Sadie said as she coughed a little bit. John rode his horse close to the group of ladies that sat around Jack. They quickly turned their heads and saw Sadie, injured quite badly. Susan Grimshaw was the first to get up, with Mary-Beth, Tilly, and Karen following after.

"Mary-Beth, Karen, Help me get her to her tent," Grimshaw said as she gently grabbed Sadie's arms, Sadie slowly slid herself off the horse and was caught by Mary-Beth and Karen. They both wrapped her arms around their necks and helped her to her bed.

"Mrs. Adler!" Jack said in happiness, still shedding a few tears. He was about to run to her but Abigail gently stopped him.

"Jack, let her get patched up first…she'll be alright," Abigail said as she placed caring hands on Jack's shoulders, standing behind him. Jack watched on as Mary-Beth and Karen gently rested Sadie on her bed. Strauss came with some Whiskey and Tonics. With some stitches as well. He placed them down next to Sadie's bed. Grimshaw was also tending to Sadie's wounds, with Tilly in the works as well.

Dutch, however, had no time to dawdle. Arthur was in danger.

"John, I need you to go to Strawberry and find Micah, Tell him that we need him," Dutch said as he started preparing to pack his belongings. Molly was worried about where Dutch was going.

"Where are you going, Dutch?" Molly said worriedly.

"To find Arthur, O'Driscolls are chasing him down, We'll need all the help we can get," Dutch said as he started to pack warm clothing.

"Bill, Javier, Charles! Pack your things we're heading to Mount Hagen!" Dutch shouted, queuing them to start grabbing their warm clothing and backing their weapons, along with food and rations.

"John, when you get to Strawberry, head up to Mount Hagen with Micah, tell him we'll need some help," Dutch said.

"Sure thing, Dutch," John said as he started backing up his belongings as well. Abigail was worried about John, thinking that she might never see him again.

"John!" Abigail said as she got his attention.

"What?" John said, slightly irritated and not making eye contact with her.

"You…You…" Abigail was trying to say something but couldn't quite find the words.

"Look, I get it, Abigail…I've been a bad father and a bad man…I left you…I left Jack…I left everyone…but believe me, it was for a good reason…" John said as he backed a little more.

"John…" Abigail said, not sure how to approach him.

"Look…If you wanna call me pathetic…call me pathetic…if you wanna call me a dumb, boggled-minded screw-up…then call me that…But right now, Arthur needs us, and this time, I'm gonna be there for him," John said quite seriously as he now made eye contact with Abigail. Abigail was nearly on the brink of tears.

"John…that's not what I was gonna say to you…" Abigail said, nearly breaking down in tears.

"Whatever you have to say, It'll have to wait…" John said as he started to storm off to his horse. Abigail turned to him, nearly crying.

"John…" Abigail said as she fell to her knees. Her son ran to her and Reverend grabbed her by the shoulders gently.

"He'll come back, Abigail…he always does…" Reverend says, trying to comfort her.

John mounted his horse and started to gallop down the road.

"Dutch, I know Arthur may be in trouble, but he can handle himself, he knows what he's getting himself into," Molly said trying to convince Dutch not to go.

"Molly, I don't have time to debate this. No, I don't doubt Arthur's skills or his ways, but he has no idea what's coming for him, and I ain't gonna just sit here, reading my book, counting money and smoking a pipe while he gets killed…or worse," Dutch said as he pulled a bag over his shoulder.

"Dutch…" Molly said as she followed him.

"Molly…Everyone here cares about Arthur, We care for his well-being and his safety…I won't let another one of us get tormented by damn O'Driscolls…Not after Sadie…" Dutch said as he glanced in the direction of Sadie who had her shirt off but wasn't topless. Mary-Beth and Tilly were stitching some of the wounds.

"Now, I will come back, Molly, I promise you that…I love you," Dutch said as he placed a quick kiss on Molly's forehead then immediately took off toward his horse where Charles, Bill, and Javier waited for him.

"Lenny, Hosea, watch the camp while we're gone!" Dutch shouted.

"Course Dutch," Hosea said.

"YA," Dutch shouted as they started riding to Mount Hagen. With John on his way to get Micah. Who knows how many men would come after Arthur.

Sadie rested on her back, gritting her teeth in pain by the stitches.

"Try to relax, Mrs. Adler…You'll be alright," Grimshaw said as she put a wet cloth on Sadie's forehead.

"I…I…" Sadie tried to muster the strength to say something. But then…she started to see it again…The Whitetail Buck…just strolling through camp. It stopped for a moment. It turned its head at her…and stared.

Sadie then felt her head fall back…

"Arthur…" Sadie said extremely weak. It may as well have been a whisper.

"Arthur…" Sadie said once more, everything was fuzzy again…And then…it was lights out.
