History of Magic was the last class of the day; Remus had promised that he'd help Elizabeth with her essay. During the lesson, he could see her dozing, her head nodding. She occasionally shook her head to keep herself awake. Remus found it very funny. Usually, students didn't bother to stay awake; Peter was passed out beside him, even drooling a little.

The moment class had finished, almost all the students ran as fast as they could out of the classroom. Nobody wanted to stay a minute longer in Binns company, or lack thereof. Remus followed the Marauders out of the classroom and waited by the door; his friends walked ahead before they realised that he wasn't with them. "Moony, what are you doing? We've got stuff to plan," James called. Remus just shook his head at him, "I can't help today. I promise I'll plan with you later." The three boys looked at him with wide eyes, that was until they saw Elizabeth walk up to Remus. Sirius and James smiled at each other; maybe they could help Remus pursue her if he was interested, "You kids be safe.." Sirius shouted after them. Remus laughed as Elizabeth stuck her middle finger up at Sirius, "Bugger off Black." She turned to him and smiled, "He's a git." He nodded, "He is, but he's Sirius."

The two 5th year students made their way down to the library; she told him that she tried hard to stay awake in Binns class and only fell asleep for like 10 minutes. He noted how proud she was of her achievement she was. I suppose he realised that's how Peter must feel when he stays awake for more than 15 minutes in Binns class too. The two got started when they went to the Marauders desk. This time she sat next to Remus so that it would be easier for him to instruct her on things.

He noted that she seemed more confident today about History of Magic, especially today's lesson. He suggested that she might try to stay awake more often only to be met with a snot, "Fat chance of that happening, but I'll try my best." The two worked away silently, and after an hour, it seemed that she had finished her essay. She handed it to Remus. He was impressed, to say the least, there were some mistakes here and there, but it was good and well thought out. She'd listened to him carefully, and it showed.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the Marauders enter the library, occupying a best a couple of meters away from them. They were giving him cheeky looks, and it made him scoff, "Oh god, what's wrong with it?" Elizabeth asked him in a panic. Realising that she thought he was scoffing at her work, "No, no, no, it's great. There a couple of sentences that you need to rewrite, but it's great." Her face lit up as she took the parchment back from him, reading it over and correcting any mistakes. He shot daggers towards his friends. He excused himself while she was busy with the essay, "Come on, guys, what now?" He sighed, leaning towards James and Sirius, "We just had to see it, Moony and a pretty girl." Sirius replied. Remus punched him in the arm, and Sirius winced. He may not have played Quidditch, but he was damn strong; that was one of the benefits of being a werewolf. He bantered away with his friends before asking them if they wanted to join them at the table, as he noted that she had finished with her essay and was now studying Defense Against the Dark Arts. The boys agreed, and they dragged their stuff over to their usual desk. Elizabeth greeted them with a warm smile, but it wasn't long before she had smacked both James and Sirius over the back of the head. He enjoyed watching his friends interact with each other, not that she was his friends, but since they were always so caught up in their little group, he forgot what it was like for them as a group to interact with other people.

Eventually, they abandoned their work, and the five of them were talking as quietly as possible; they did, however, fall under the glare of Madam Prince. After the 5th time she walked past them, they decided it was time to leave before they got detention. Neither Sirius, James, nor Elizabeth could afford to get detention for the weekend since it was the Hufflepuff Gryffindor game. They waved goodbye to Elizabeth as she caught up to Marlene and Lily as they walked past the library. When the four of them were alone, the three others turned towards Remus, "Don't!" he growled, "Just don't." The others knew not to press further, He wasn't up for talking. He didn't like where the conversation was going to go. The boys headed to the great hall messing around pushing each other around the hallways. He couldn't help the laughter that came after James accidentally slipped on Peter's robes sending him crashing to the floor.

The boys were in high spirits. Once they were in the Great Hall, they talked about how to carry out their next prank, and it involved none other than the Slytherins in their year, with James and Sirius's main target being Severus Snape. They planned to booby trap the Slytherin table so that it would break whenever they sat on it. And for Snape, every chair that he sat on would break. It was a harmless prank, but it would be fun to see the embarrassment of the Slytherins. They kept their voices low so that nobody else could hear them.

Remus planned to head out to the great hall later and place the charm on the Slytherin table. Usually, Sirius and James would've done this, but Remus was feeling risky, and he didn't want the others to get caught. He also just generally enjoyed partaking in the pranks as long as he didn't get caught. When dinner was over, they all raced up to the dorm; the boys all sat on James's bed and had the curtains drawn closed as they finalized their plans.

The plan was to have Remus leave the Gryffindor Commons at 9:40. He would use the map and cloak to get down to the Great Hall for 10:00, then back up by 11:30. If there was one thing about the Marauders, they were punctual when it came to their pranks. Remus changed into what looked somewhat like Pyjamas, as did the others.

At 9:20, they all gather in the common room, lounging on the sofas near the fire chatting away. The boys noted how only a handful of students remained, mainly 7th years doing some last-minute studying before bed.

It was time. Remus looked at the others before heading out the common room. He put the cloak on and examined the map, there were a couple of students heading towards their houses, but that was about it. Remus made it down to the Great Hall without much difficulty. Casting the spells needed before hitting up other classrooms that he knew the Slytherins in his year would be using.

Checking the map before leaving the potions lap he saw, one of the Ravenclaws prefects walking nearby. Once they had passed the room, he left, closing the door quietly behind him. He crept along the corridors trying to get back to Gryffindor Tower. As he checked the map, he saw none other than Elizabeth's name and a prefect following behind. She was the next corridor over, and he ran to get there. Gryffindor could not afford to lose her for the match. He snatched her arm, pulling her into a nearby classroom. Causing her to almost scream, he silently cast Muffliato. He quickly threw off the cloak before dragging her towards a far corner of the room.

They saw the light shine from the prefect's wand into the room. Even though they couldn't hear, they kept silent, pulling themselves closer to the wall. Once the light was gone, they both let go of the breath they had been holding. She whipped around at him, "How the….what the….what the hell?! You scared the living bejasus out of me. I thought I was going to get murdered." Her eyes were wild, and she gave him a pointed look. "I'm sorry, but they were going to catch you." He replied, hands up in the air. His want in one and the map and cloak in the other. Once she had caught her breath, she looked at him again, "How in God's name, did you find me?" He quickly shoved the map into his pocket, "I saw you as I was walking past." She smiled at him. "But why is the goody two shoe Marauder wandering the castle so late?" He gave her a pointed look, "I could say the same for you." The two started each other down before dropping the whole conversation.

Remus didn't want to use the cloak, but he knew he would have to if both wanted to get back. He begged her not to mention it, and she agreed. She told him that she didn't want to get into trouble. The two of them then made their way back up to Gryffindor Tower; they had walked past two prefects on their way there. He took off the cloak. They gave the fat lady the password after being told off for being out after curfew. The two entered quietly. Remus hoped that the others would be waiting up in the room, but they weren't. The Marauders looked at Elizabeth with a curious look, their eyes flashing between the two students. Remus rolled his eyes; it seemed these days, he always found himself around her.

"You should probably head to bed. I'll see you in the morning." Elizabeth skipped past the other Marauders towards the girls' dorms before whipping around. "Thank you Remus." Remus waved his hand at her; she smiled, finally disappearing up to the girls' dorms.

The three boys rushed towards Remus, "So that explains why you were late. You had us ready to send out a search party." Peter patted his back, pulling the map from Remus's pocket and the cloak from his hands. "Remus shrugged in response; they'd been late plenty of times coming back from setting up a prank, well he was about 20 minutes late, but that wasn't that bad. "I think you have an admirer Moony," Sirius smirked while James raised an eyebrow. "What? Do you think she likes me? Fat chance of that, lads. Anyway, I'm not looking for a relationship. It's not worth it." James and Sirius gave him a look, but he just brushed it off.

The next morning had the Marauders in stitches. The prank had gone off beautifully, and the Slytherins had become the school's laughing stock, at least for some students. The best moment for them was when Lucius and Snivellus sat down at the Slytherin table, sending the rest of the house to the floor. Remus's sides hurt from laughing so hard, the tears running down his face. The boys indeed were a sight for the students around them. All four boys found themselves in detention that day as they couldn't control their laughter every time Snape fell to the floor. Remus had no regrets. For Remus, the detention was totally worth it.
