Jill inhaled and exhaled heavily. The monster injured her more than she realized. Her ribs felt pretty bad, but she wasn't in the clear yet. Jill quickly rushed to the window as fast as her legs could take her. She could hear the monster, bashing at the door behind her. Jill ignored it and quickly climbed through the open window. When she was outside, she was met with a hellscape nightmare. The city was in ruins. Many of the buildings were set ablaze. People were screaming for their lives. Jill could hear the sounds that haunted her in her nightmares. The sounds of Zombies. Making a mix of high and low pitches and turning it into a screech.
"No way!" Jill said as she looked down the alley that already seemed to be filled with infected humans. Jill quickly ran down the steps to the third floor. She climbed through the window and made her way to the hallway. She was just inches from the hallway until…
CRASH!
The ceiling collapsed in front of her, sending her back to the ground. What caused it was the monster she saw earlier. It wore a Black Tuxedo and a Fedora, with a cold, blank stare in its eyes. It looked at the fallen Jill. It advanced toward her and attempted to slam its fists down on her. Jill barrel rolled out of the way just in time before the floor, the monster slammed down on, was crumbling. The monster shifted its attention to Jill yet again.
The spinal tentacle retracted from the top of its wrist. Slithering out like a snake. Jill crawled to the small opening of debris. She managed to get through only for the tentacle to grab her calve. Dragging her back towards it. Jill tried to grab the floor but there was nothing to grab onto. She saw a sharp spearhead, she reached for it and grabbed it. The monster dragged her back a little further. Jill quickly swung the spearhead at the Spinal Tentacle, freeing her from the monster.
Jill crawled out of the debris and headed back to the hallway. Her ribs were hurting more. The more she used them, the more pain she was in. She looked back at the collapsed ceiling that separated her and the monster. She limped her way through the hallway that was half on fire. She made her way through the hallway. Trying to get out of the building. She was just about a few feet from the exit, BAM! A loud explosion was made behind her. Sending her forward through the door and slamming into the rail. All the while, staying on her feet just barely. The explosion was small enough for no real damage but powerful enough to send her forward.
Jill slowly made her way down the stairs outside of the building. Heading down to the second floor. She paused for a moment to catch her breath, she clenched her side tightly, grunting in pain. Her teeth gritted, her eyes squinted together, and small tears of pain slowly drizzled down her cheeks. Why was this happening? Again? Everything was repeating itself…Umbrella…those bastards! They started this, and they caused everything. All this death…all this destruction.
Jill wiped the small tears from her eyes, she then continued her way down the stairs. The ladder was right there. She would find Brad, and get the hell out of this-
BAAAAAAMMMM
The wall next to her bursted open as the monster in the Tuxedo grabbed Jill by the throat. Jill was struck with shock as her nerves skyrocketed. She smashed her hand on the Monster's arm but seemed unfazed by it. The Monster then threw Jill into the building, which was now set aflame. The fire was everywhere. Jill rolled to the ground and turned on her back, she looked at the Monster as it approached her, taking heavy footsteps. Once it was close enough it raised its foot and smashed down on the ground. Jill leaned to the side just enough to where the Monster's foot was just centimeters away from her shoulder blade.
The flooring beneath Jill collapsed as she fell to the first floor. The Monster fell with her, but it landed on its feet. Jill crawled back to her feet in a desperate attempt. The Monster grabbed a chunk of the ceiling with its hands. Jill didn't even dare to look back as she limped toward the door down the hallway. The Monster then started pushing the piece of debris down the hallway, destroying the walls as the building was close to collapsing. Jill continued to limp as fast as she could. Her leg dragged behind her. Hard cramps overtook her stomach and gut, exhaustion and soreness swayed in her leg that was still good. She breathed heavily, her mouth agape as she continued to run toward the exit door.
The monster only got closer to her, bulldozing down the entire hallway as the walls behind the monster slowly crumbled, and the ceiling started falling as debris and rocks fell to the ground. Jill didn't know if the door was locked or not, but to hell with it. Jill prepared to ram her shoulder into the door, but more rocks and debris fell from the ceiling.
Jill rammed her shoulder into the door, swinging it wide open as Jill lost her balance and rolled on her side. Her back hit a stone-hard brick wall of another building. Jill laid on her side as she watched the doorway crumble, separating her and the monster from each other. Jill let out a small exhale, but this resulted in her cramps worsening, everytime she inhaled or exhaled, heavy pain overtook her gut. She wanted to rest here for a moment, but she knew she couldn't. She slowly put her arms under her, pushing up off the concrete ground. Once she was able to get on her feet, she collapsed on the wall, barely able to balance herself. Jill held her hands on the brick wall. Making sure she wouldn't fall again. Jill, limped her way down the alleyway. Hoping that Brad wouldn't be far.
Jill had been exhausted before, even near death, but she never liked to relive it. What the hell was that thing? Why did it come after her? Jill had to guess it was Umbrella…there was no doubt about it. No other company would create a Bioweapon such as that. Especially one that had such abominable strength. She had killed a Tyrant before, but she knew they would keep coming back until you were absolutely sure they were dead. She saw more people, screaming and running for safety on the street. Jill continued to move forward.
"JILL!" A voice called out, Jill tried to refocus her vision on who had called her name. It was Brad.
Jill moved a little faster, trying to pace herself to get to Brad. Brad walked a little closer to Jill.
"Jesus, Jill, you alright?" Brad asked worriedly as he got closer to Jill at a faster pace. He tried to help her but Jill pulled away gently.
"I'm fine…I'm fine, just winded," Jill said as she finally got off the wall and started following Brad. She clenched her side tightly.
"Steady Jill, Steady," Brad said staying close to her, making sure that she wouldn't collapse to the ground. Jill was more focused on getting out of this city.
"Hey, do you know what the hell that Monster was?" Jill asked Brad.
"Damned if I knew, A helicopter flew overhead, dropped this massive tin can. Next thing I know, mother fuckin' pale face in a suit comes bashing out," Brad said as he gestured to a huge crate that was busted open. It had a symbol on it…Umbrella…Of course…those bastards again. There was a name on it. T-002. This was another one of Umbrella's tests. Fuck their tests, Jill wasn't staying here for the damn spectacle of Umbrella's stupid experiment.
"I'm not staying, look around, the whole city's fucked…There's nothing we can do," Brad said as he walked down the littered streets, filled with rubble, debris, fire, and trash everywhere. Jill followed Brad, trying to keep up with him.
Then a Helicopter flew over, a Police Helicopter from the looks of it. Brad waved his hands in the air in a desperate attempt to get the Helicopter's attention. But it was too late, the Helicopter had already flown over them.
"Come on, Jill, let's get the Hell outta here," Brad said as he went a bit further. Jill followed as best as she could, trying to keep at a decent pace, but also try not to lose her balance.
But then, the Zombies started climbing over the barricaded fence.
"Brad, Here they come!" Jill shouted, Brad, turned his attention toward the barricaded fence, which started to fall over, with the Zombies tumbling over. They were slow but unbearably durable. Shooting them in the head seems to do the trick, but Jill didn't have a weapon at the moment, the only option left was to flee.
"THIS WAY!" Brad yelled as he ran to the building over. The Zombies fell down the fence, slowly getting up as they shuffled toward Jill. Jill looked around frantically for an opening. A rather large zombie with a yellow vest on shuffled toward her as it put up its arms, attempting to grab her. Jill simply dashed to the side, avoiding the zombie. The Zombie sort of tripped over itself, falling face first to the ground, but slowly got back up. Not wasting a single second, Jill ran for the door that Brad stood near. The Zombies inched in closer to Jill. A crawling zombie then grabbed her calf, holding it tightly. Jill fell to the ground as she tried to pull herself up. The zombie was about to clamp shut on Jill's leg. Jill then turned on her back and kicked the zombie in the face. She yelped in pain. Damn it, she just kicked with her bad leg!
The zombie flinched slightly.
"JILL!" Brad shouted as he was about to run toward her, but a zombie lunged at him with slow movement. Brad had no time to react as the zombie grabbed his arm and bit down on it. Causing him to scream in pain.
"BRAD!" Jill yelled, trying to free herself from the Zombie. The zombie seemed to be trying to refocus on its vision. Jill then with all the strength and force she could muster, pulled back her leg and kicked as hard as she could. Causing her to not yelp, but scream in pain. It felt like her leg had just been stabbed with fifty needles paralyzing it. The Zombie's head was completely knocked off as it flew toward another zombie, hitting it in the head as it lost balance.
Jill crawled backward, trying to pull herself away from zombies that only inched closer toward her.
Just then, gunshots were fired. BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Hitting the zombies in the head as blood spewed from their eyes, foreheads, and noses as the zombies fell to the ground, dead…or dead dead.
Jill turned to see Brad with a pistol in his hands as steam slowly floated out of the barrel of the pistol. His hand was heavily bleeding, a huge chunk of it was missing.
"Come on, Jill!" Brad said, almost sounding exhausted. Jill scrambled to her feet as best as she could, running to Brad. More Zombies started swarming it. Brad shot the gun more times. BANG! BANG! BANG! The loud sound of the shots echoed through the city. Jill then reached for the handle, then pushed it open as the door swung wide. Jill lost her balance as she fell forward. Brad backed up a bit more. Continuing to fire more bullets. BANG! BANG! BANG!
CLICK-CLICK
Jill turned over as she looked toward Brad, her eyes widened with shock. Brad looked at the gun that had been completely emptied. He then threw the gun at one of the remaining Zombies. Jill attempted to get back up, using her arms to try and pull herself onto her feet. Brad closed the door behind him. Jill, finally able to get back on her feet, aided Brad in keeping the door shut. Jill quickly saw Brad's arm. The fucking zombie bit him.
"Brad, we're gonna make a run for it, okay," Jill said to Brad. However, Brad wasn't taking it. He knew what would happen if he went with her. He'd bite her…then she'd be one of those things.
"Come on, Jill, we both know how this ends," Brad said. The zombies banged on the door, trying to get in.
"No…I'm not leaving you," Jill said as she tried to keep the door shut.
"Are we still a team?" Brad asked. Of Course, they were a team. Brad had been a friend since high school…same with Nick…But Brad was alive…she couldn't lose him too…
"Always," Jill said.
"Then do me a favor," Brad said as he grabbed her arm and threw her to the counter without doing much harm.
"Don't fuck up, like I did…GO!" Brad said as he got in front of the door, at least in the middle. Keeping it from opening. Jill slowly got to her feet…she didn't want to leave Brad…she couldn't…but…she had to. Otherwise…he would bite her…or she'd shoot him. Jill started to shuffle her way to the door that would lead into an alleyway…but not before looking back at her friend, who barricaded the door.
A tear shedded from Jill's eye. She shook her head and bashed through the door. Leaving her friend behind…
"I'm sorry, Brad," Jill said as she walked down the alleyway.
