It was the next morning at the lodge with both teams down for breakfast with this time; both teams able to get a full night's sleep. At the Killer Hamsters' table; they had collected their breakfast first and had gone to their table before the Screaming Beavers and there was Sadie, Katie, Cody and Owen overlooking Ezekiel's plate next to Lincoln as he was sitting next to Ezekiel.
"I think I saw a beaver carcass yesterday morning so it could be that..." Cody said looking onto Ezekiel's breakfast as Ezekiel was poking it with his knife.
"Could be a bit of deer..." Sadie said taking a closer look along with Katie as Sadie excitedly looked his way.
"OMG; I was just thinking the same!" Katie said as they two best friends held each other's hands and squealed excitedly on the spot.
"I wouldn't mind if it was a bit of bear; I always wondered what their meat tastes like." Owen said as the Killer Hamsters looked disgusted at that thought.
"My money is still on that being rat." Lincoln said with an air of finality in his voice as the Screaming Beavers couldn't help look their way with the curiosity getting the better of them.
"I am sure that we are going to regret asking but what are you all doing?" Justin asked as Gwen and Courtney sighed with Courtney looking their way.
"Lincoln and Ezekiel started wondering what animals Chef used to make his... What, I presume to be 'meatloaf and then the others joined in..." Courtney said as she turned to go back to eating her breakfast as the Screaming Beavers looked disgusted at that.
"I wished that they would stop; trying to bring myself to eating this is already hard enough as it is... I am more than happy to be in blissful ignorance about what I am eating in Chef's cooking!" Gwen told her team as they started going back to their seats as Gwen did her best to go back to eating and seeing how Courtney was eating no problem. "How are you doing that?" Gwen asked Courtney as Courtney looked smug at the question.
"I have always had an iron stomach." Courtney pretty much gloated as DJ couldn't help but looking their table's way.
"Hard to believe just last morning you came in all tired and upset with Ezekiel; yet you seemed to have patched things up to be playing games with your food again." DJ commented as Ezekiel and Lincoln faced his way with a smile.
"Once I calmed down; Ezekiel and I had a talk and I think he has something to say!" Lincoln said quite proudly and Ezekiel ended up standing on my seat.
"I just want to saye that I am sorry for my comments about girls aye; I will make an effort to to not be so pig headed and you might not be as bad as I thought you would be and I won't need to look after you all as much as I thought I would!" Ezekiel commented and there was silence as Lincoln facepalmed but the girls muttered about it being a start.
"Perhaps with all your sisters; you should have the experience in telling us all about girls..." DJ told Lincoln looking impressed but Lincoln shook his head as he gave a humorless laugh.
"Thanks DJ but I actually did try that as a service when I was 11, let's just say that the less said about that the better..." Lincoln sighed as they looked his way and realised that he was serious about what he was saying.
"Well we can ask weird creepy girl what that was all about; with her freaky mind reading powers!" Lightning brought up as there were awkward looks towards Dawn as she was eating her vegetarian breakfast and wasn't quite thrilled with all the talk of the animals in the food that they were eating.
"It's not exact mind reading; reading someone's aura can reveal their thoughts and what they have been through but it's not like if you thought of a number I could guess it. I can see inner truths; like for example there is a weird greyish dark about Lindsay's aura that I am having trouble trying to pinpoint at the moment." Dawn commented and Lindsay blinked as she was sitting opposite to Dawn and went up to move up the table.
There were some eyes rolling from some of the campers there as Lindsay seemed like a nice if ditzy girl, "I think that's enough Dawn, let's just enjoy our breakfast." Zoey but in with a forced smile not wanting her new friend Dawn to alienate herself further from the campers there.
"Sorry; what you read was probably that all this talk of what animals are in the food was making me super scared of what we were eating... If only a brave strong man could try it for me..." Lindsay spoke making a pose as if she she asking for help and Cody looking confident got up from his seat to reach for her plate.
"You could have just asked me directly Lindsay as I would be more than happy to help as I did yesterday..." Cody said only for his hand to grab the plate the same time as Tyler did.
"Thanks but I think to best try this food; she needs an actual athlete who is part of her team..." Tyler said as the two glared fiercely at eachother with Lindsay just sitting there as a simple smile.
"Okay now... Settle down, there is no need to make this a bigger deal than it should be..." Zoey said concerned that it would just escalate any tension there as the two got the plate up in the air and ended up accidentally being sent flying towards the back of Sadie's hair.
"Sadie! Look at what you did!" Katie cried along with Sadie as Katie got up angrily and threw her breakfast right back at Cody & Tyler with the others watching this escalate. She ended up hitting Justin much to her shock as well as Sadie's as Justin looked like he was just hit with the death penalty in court.
"My hair, my clothes... Are the cameras on, this could threaten my modelling career..." Justin cried out as he then began angrily throwing his food at the Killer Hamsters' table.
"Don't acknowledge this Courtney; you are better than this..." Courtney told herself only to be hit in the hair by food and she turtned to see Lightning laughing lockingly. "Oh it is on... FOOD FIGHT!" Courtney yelled as soon it was a full blown food war with the table soon knocked over for cover.
"This feels juvenile but you seem to be happy." Gwen commented as she was kneeling by the table as Lincoln was grinning like a madman.
"Are you kidding, this is definitely feeling like home as this just like a weekday dinner at the Loud family home!" Lincoln explained looking excited as he went out of cover to join in with Gwen shrugging and deciding to just go with the flow.
"Okay as the food fight veteran who survived the Thanksgiving Bash of 2 years ago and led my siblings to victory ay the joined Loud-McBride-Casagrande Christmas party last year... I shall lead us to victory! I shall act defensively, Courtney can I count on you to cover Cody while Gwen attacks from the behind and Ezekiel stays here for possible back up?" Lincoln asked as they gave serious salutes as they went out with Cody still on the front lines of the food fight.
"What about us Lincoln?" Sadie asked with her and Katie giving salutes as well.
"If you can please make sure that Owen doesn't eat all our ammunition then that will be a tremendous help!" Lincoln ordered as they proceeded with the order as even the declaration of a food fight was enough for Owen to stop his eating.
Most of the forces in this food fight were down with Zoey and Dawn at the side hiding behind their trays, utterly refusing to get involved as Lincoln and Lightning the last ones standing for their teams with them having a western standoff. They all managed to get up to at least their knees to watch as most of the food was used up.
"How about we just call a truce since we have both run out of ammunition..." Lincoln said offering his hand going up to him as Lightning looked down at the smaller boy.
"Lightning doesn't go for losing or ties..." Lightning replied but then there was a cough with everyone having all color drained from their faces as there was a furious looking Chef Hatchet looking at the mess.
Chris was at the area where they went over the footage captured with the biggest grin on his face; "Oh man, we already have so much material to post as extras on the website and you all will have to find a way to edit this footage into future episodes. Don't forget to do that with the little hunting escapade from yesterday as well." Chris told his interns manning the editing of the show as they all gave a nod of acknowledgement to him.
After some time cleaning up the lodge as well as showering again and changing their clothes; they were out a bit worn out but feeling the adrenaline of the food fight still. Especially Courtney who said "I have always needed to set the best example at school and not partake in such activities but being able to cut loose..."
"This certainly brought the fun side out of Courtney; I thought that you were a normal guy trying to be friendly at first but I like this fun side that was shown. I guess living with all those sisters means that you can't stay normal or just end up losing your mind." Gwen laughed at Lincoln patting him on the back and he smiled back.
"Thanks Gwen; you had to be sharp to learn how to survive in my home and know when to just go with the flow." Lincoln told her and getting an idea on how to impress his new teammate/friend some more. "I am also a bit of a magician, watch this..." Lincoln said going to Gwen's ears and she blinked as 2 doves flew out and was in awe as Lincoln took a bow.
"Oh, don't be too mad at Lincoln... I am sure he didn't mean to keep you waiting." said Dawn's voice and they saw that Dawn was now next to them with her arms stretched out and each dove landing on each hand. "They are just a little cranky, waiting for their cue for this trick Lincoln." Dawn explained as Lincoln looked at her and the doves.
"Well I am sorry dove pals; by the way Dawn I think this thing you have with animals is kind of cool. Is this part of your aura reading thing?" Lincoln asked with a smile and Dawn giggled as she shook her head.
"I can sense their auras but I have taught myself to be one with nature and understand these creatures." Dawn explained and Lincoln thought of something and looked sheepish.
"I don't suppose you were too keen on the food fight and when we were having that talk about Ezekiel's food... So sorry about that..." Lincoln muttered as Dawn sighed.
"Truth be told; I don't enjoy conflict and just leave you to it. Apology accepted about discussing the poor creatures in the meat food served here; don't worry as I won't judge about eating meat. I will partake in my veganism but won't try and force others to do the same; animals eat other animals as humans do as we are part of the earth's order but I just chose to be more involved with those species that occupy that." Dawn replied and Lincoln found that reassuring.
"Cool, hope that neither of us gets eliminated tomorrow Dawn as you seem pretty cool and I would like to get to know you more!" Lincoln said as he and Gwen waved to Dawn as they set off.
Zoey was sighing by a tree as she was talking to DJ; "Don't worry about the food fight Zoey; it was basically just a fun game. I can tell you want us all to be friends and that's good but don't see this or every little confrontation as an obstacle to your hopes about this. Do your best, have fun and we will have our chances to get along. Remember we got rid off the one girl who would be intentionally causing conflict and trying to manipulate people to come up on top." DJ reassured her and Zoey gave an appreciative smile.
"Thanks DJ; I was thinking of my head of an idea I am putting together for one big activity to bring us all together. Both teams together but I am still putting the pieces together." Zoey said and then noticed Lincoln and Gwen's talk with Dawn. "Still a lot of progress as Dawn and I have Lincoln as a friend now and it looks like Dawn will have Gwen joining them as well. Not only that but the Hamsters have fixed yesterday's issues in no time." Zoey said with a bit of a smile and DJ nodded as well.
"You are telling me and it's amazing that they had done so; Lightning told me about how he had to rescue those 2 Hamsters as well as Ezekiel from a net and if I were Lincoln and Gwen, I would probably hold onto a bit more of a grudge for that. Lincoln seems to be some boy so far." DJ giving a little bit of a laugh and Zoey did as well.
Lindsay didn't like getting covered in food in that food fight but taking that chance to see what 'valiant knight' she could get to use in her games was almost worth it. Cody seems like a nice guy even if she didn't see him more as someone to string along to help with whatever she needs help to pull off and it would do some good to know how to use someone from the other team. Then there was Tyler who leapt to be the hero with the cockroach and he was a handsome athlete; definitely more boyfriend material.
Plus the American Lincoln who had managed to get that idiot Ezekiel as his sidekick and getting the respect of his teammates in no time; including that goth girl Gwen who preferred to be a loner before opening up to Lincoln in short time.
Plus there was Zoey a nice girl who wanted them all to be good friends and the weird Dawn girl and she had better keep her distance because that aura reading thing she did.
Anyway that afternoon she decided to see what the campers were doing and ended up finding Lincoln and Gwen sitting together as they were drawing pictures together, they did look cute laughing together even if Lincoln was hesitant to showing Gwen what he was doing at the moment. However they seemed to have attracted a bear and scampered off with Lincoln ending up dropping 2 of his drawings.
Once Lindsay was sure that they and the bear was gone; she decided to pick them up and was amazed to see how well the detail was in both pictures as well as listing stuff to like about them. The one of Gwen had her smiling as Lincoln said that she was pretty and really nice behind that exterior that she projects as well as pretty cool. The one of Dawn listed her as pretty and really nice and sweet if you get behind her aura reading and how she unintentionally has her seen as creepy.
Lindsay realised that there was a chance that Lincoln could end up crushing on one or even both of them; this she found was entirely adorable. "Thank you so much Lincoln, I am definitely going to find a way to use these for some fun..." squealed Lindsay to herself as she skipped back to the cabin.
