The Loud House in Royal Woods, Michigan and Lynn Sr was setting up food in the kitchen as enters was Lincoln and Gwen hand in wearing suits. "Hello kiddo; how are my my favourite son and his wife at their comic book drawing jobs?" Lynn Sr asked as they put their stuff down.
"We got off work early dad; we finished our drawings and handed it in to the editor." Lincoln said as Gwen smiled at him.
"To think that you didn't think that anyone would like your redesign of the Ace Savvy costume..." Gwen said as she then kissed him on the cheek as Lynn Sr showed them to the table as he put the plates down.
"Well you are just in time to try out my new recipes for Lynn's Table; you know business has been really booming after the President had his dinner meeting with the UN representatives last month." Lynn Sr said as they smiled at the food.
"Looks great dad..." Lincoln told him but then entered through the door was Dawn who went to him and kissed him on the cheek. "Dawn?" Lincoln asked in shock.
"Dawn; you are just in time! I have prepared some new vegetarian recipes for my favourite vegetarian daughter in law and I hope that you can please not tell Sam..." Lynn Sr said as she stared down at the table and he put the plate to her.
"Thank you splendid father in law; the creatures at the Animal Shelter could really be a handful." Dawn told him as Lincoln looked confused.
"Wait? Am I married to you or you?" Lincoln asked pointing to Dawn and Gwen.
"Yes!" they both said at once.
"Don't you remember Lincoln kiddo? You couldn't decide which one to go with so you dated and then married the both of them." Lynn Sr said as Lincoln had his mouth wide open.
"This is crazy..." Lincoln muttered as the door opened and out came Lisa.
"Do you know that is 'crazy' elder brother? It has been a decade later and yet I have not aged at all." Lisa said simply.
Lincoln jumped up and saw that he was in his bed in the Killer Hamsters' cabin on the night after the dodgeball challenge and took a quiet deep breath. "Dreams... You're certainly not making this decision easier for me..." Lincoln thought with a shake of his head as he went back to sleep.
That morning both teams were heading to their tables at the lodge with Ezekiel grinning at the lack of Owen there at the table. "You know that it was the best that Owen be the one to leave yesterday aye! He eat so much and now there's more for the rest of us!" Ezekiel brought up as Gwen scoffed while trying to use her spoon to break apart her breakfast.
"More disgusting slop for the rest of us... Yay!" Gwen sarcastically said putting her free hand up as Lincoln went to join them with his tray. "Your pal was just telling our team about we get to have you still here and not Owen!" Gwen told him and Lincoln and saw that they gave him weird smiles as he sighed.
"Look; please just drop it. It hurt but I understand it was a competition and all and that wasn't my best outing..." Lincoln said and there was a scoffing from Lightning as he was going to his table with his tray after arriving upon the completion of his usual morning exercise.
"Understatement; you were critical in the first 2 of Lightning's defeats here and to have you voted off by your own team after such an unsatisfying performance! You better bring it like you did in the first 2 challenges from now on because Lightning won't be happy if I don't show myself as the best by beating strong opponents!" Lightning told Lincoln as he gulped but then looked amused.
"Kind of flattered that you see me as a rival Lightning; would never get that from my sister Lynn. She's a competitive sports star like you." Lincoln said and Lightning stared at him and shook his head which caused Lincoln to worry.
"You think that cause you have a sports sister that you know what to expect from Lightning? Oh; Lightning must work twice as hard to prove you wrong!" Lightning warned him and DJ got him to put his arm down as Zoey spoke up.
"Uh the Hamsters seem to not be as close as points but still a bit more together than us Beavers so I have been working on an idea to not only get our teams to be closer to eachother but to show that this doesn't have to be less than a friendly a competition! A little get together party tonight where we can really get to know eachother!" Zoey suggested putting on a smile as she got up as they all took this in.
"I don't think that we need it! Despite the little disagreement yesterday; we are as tight as a couple of siblings!" Ezekiel said confidently putting his arm around an unexpected Lincoln's shoulder with nods from Cody, Katie & Sadie but scoffs from Courtney & Gwen.
"Are you sure? I seem to remember that in our first morning; you got yourself, Gwen and off course your best pal Lincoln all stuck in a net! You are darn lucky that it wasn't me that you coasted into your stupid plan and I had to wake up in a net!" Courtney retorted as Ezekiel gulped.
"I thought that we weren't going to bring that up anymore..." Ezekiel said as Lincoln shook his head.
"Not your entire fault buddy; remember who it was giving Lindsay massages on the beach while we and Gwen were stuck in that net for over an hour!" Lincoln brought up pointing a finger at Cody who looked away.
"Look pal... It looked bad but I am getting ready to do something good for you!" Cody said and everyone was looking at Zoey as she slammed her table.
"Can we please not argue and not you among your teammates; you have to be working together and it involves trust! Trust and our experiences here could help create friendships that will last when we are all off the island! So how about my idea?" Zoey asked grunting.
"We will give your idea a shot..." Courtney finally said shaking her head.
"Lightning will do that if you would stop banging the table." Lightning said having caught his plate when it moved from the banging.
There were nods and Katie and Sadie were excited that it could be like a slumber party. "I am down for that!" DJ agreed and Dawn nodded as well.
"I hope that it will turn out well Zoey and it sounds like a wonderful idea!" Dawn had said with Zoey glad that she managed to convince the campers to go along with her idea.
It was later that night when Zoey brought them to the campfire pit; "Really starting to hate this place; feeling like a loser when Lightning has to come here!" Lightning groaned with his arms folded as Zoey shot him a glare.
"We are here to bond and get to know eachother; see who each of us are underneath. How about you DJ, do you want to go first?" Zoey asked getting each other's attention and DJ made a nod.
"I would be glad to; I have been looked after and taught how to be the best person I could be by my mama and I hope to make her proud! They mean the most to me! If you want to know about my musical taste then I love Jamaican reggae." DJ said with a smile.
"So your mom raised you on her own after your dad left you both?" Lindsay asked appearing clueless as they gulped as there were eyes widening from the Screaming Beavers besides Lincoln. "What? Dawn said so..." Lindsay muttered as Dawn looked guilty as DJ was silent with his head down as Zoey looked uneasy.
"So sorry about that DJ... I can see that it tears you apart..." Dawn confronted DJ as he smiled at her.
"Too blunt but I am making peace with it; I remember him being all excited when he saw that we had won off the TV. He went to cash it in and never came back..." DJ said as he wiped away a tear and held his fists together. "Are the cameras on? Are you watching now papa? Papa, can you hear me? Are you proud of your boy?" DJ asked close to crying as Dawn allowed him to cry into her shoulders as most of them looked sorry for him and even Lightning with a look of understanding went to pat him on the back.
Once DJ calmed down then Katie and Sadie spent so many minutes talking about all the things that they had done together as life long best friends. Soon Zoey decided to show off an empty bottle that she placed on the ground in front of all the stools.
"I got this from the recycling bags that I was filling up with Dawn and so I thought that we could try and get a game out of it!" Zoey suggested beckoning everyone over but Dawn gasped.
"Spin the bottle? Now are we just in juvenile territory!" said Courtney with her arms folded shaking her head but a scary look from Zoey caused her to come over and they were soon in a circle.
"I don't know if I can do this again... Zoey... I know you heard me telling the story to Lincoln..." Dawn whispered to Zoey whose eyes widened upon realising it.
"Oh sorry Dawn... I forgot but don't worry... I am sure that it will be better and he already kissed you before all those years ago and I promise that when you get a turn you won't have the humiliation of before." Zoey assured her taking her hands with a smile and this got Dawn confident enough to agree to it as she sat in her lotus position.
"Katie and I love this game! This cute guy at a party when we were kids had his turn and the bottle totally almost landed on us!" Sadie squealed and Katie went along with her.
"Oh! Me first please! Lindsay said taking the bottle and spinning it really hard and it went around and around with Cody & Tyler having their fingers crossed hopefully. Soon it slowed down and it ended up landing on Lincoln with his mouth wide open; Dawn & Gwen almost gasped as they looked jealous and Tyler as well as Cody were annoyed.
"How about Lindsay try again?" Cody asked wanting to have it spun again.
"You know what; Lindsay you can go again..." Zoey agreed not wanting this to mess with her plans to pair Lincoln and Dawn together but Lindsay actually stood up and went to Lincoln, taking him by the collar and giving him a kiss on the lips as they blinked. Zoey scowled as Gwen and Dawn looked jealous as Lindsay skipped to her spot.
"This was nice; a friendly kiss between friends!" Lindsay giggled.
"Not cool man; the bro code..." Cody whispered towards Lincoln with a glare and his arms folded.
"What? She kissed me!" Lincoln retorted not believing what he was hearing.
"Oh you are sure going to get it Lincoln..." swore Tyler angrily.
The start of the chapter was inspired by the opening to Snow Show part 2 an episode of Good Luck Charlie; the last Disney Channel sitcom that I really got into. Plus I really got self indulgent and made a TV Tropes page for the story so if you can help to add to it then much appreciated.
