"Well standing here isn't going to solve anything, lets head back to base." Sky said as they teleported

The team gathered in their command center all hounding Crugar and Kat with questions about the new ranger
"Alright everyone settle down yes we have a new ranger, but I had gave my word that I wouldn't reveal them, that when they were ready they would reveal themselves, isn't that right white ranger." Crugar said as the white ranger walked into view still morphed
"Hey, thanks for helping us out back there, I'm Jack, Blue ranger (Don't attack me for this change in my story I did it as tribute to their fathers, Danielle is white for Tommy and Sky is red for Wes)
"I'm Sydney, the pink ranger" Syd smiled

"Dani" Sky smiled as he lifted her into his arms hugging her. "I've missed you so much white dove." They're foreheads touched, eyes closed as the team looked on in shock.
"Welcome to the team" Jack said as the two best friends pulled away from each other blushing from embarrassment

"How come we haven't seen you around" Syd asked
"Oh um, thats a long story, but the point is that this isn't my first time being in a ranger suit." Danielle said as she saw Skys shocked reaction

"I've been a ranger 3 times including SPD" Dani said knowing she had a lot of explaining to do to Sky

"Be careful Syd will steal you for shopping trips every weekend" Jack laughed as Syd scowled at him

"Doggy do you mind if we take our new ranger and give her a tour." Syd asked Doggy
"Well, thats up to her" Doggy said before Danielle could get a word in Syd grabbed her hand
"Oh um sure" Dani said looking towards Sky
"I'll come find you later" Sky called after her as the girls dragged her from the room, leaving him with Bridge and Jack who were looking at him

"You and Danielle friends huh" Jack said believing that their was something more between his leader and new ranger.
"We haven't spoken in three years, I tried reaching out after her parents died but she never answered.
"Miss Oliver, has gone through a very traumatic year, she almost didn't take my offer." Doggy said sitting in his chair
"What convinced her to join" Sky asked
"When I told her you were on the team, it was an easy decision for her to cut contact." Doggy said to Sky
"She's not the same person is she" Sky said in realization
"No, but I do believe you can help her get back to that place"

"So, this is your room, and we're right across the hall" Syd said concluding the tour
"Thank you, and I do appreciate you showing me around" Danielle smiled in gratitude
"Of course and if you need anything we're always here" Z said supportively as Syd nodded

"So, just between us girls, whats the story with you and Sky." Syd asked eager for details as Z glared at her

"What, c'mon everyone saw that hug" Syd defended herself
"We've been friends for a very long, inseparable…before he left for the academy. We kept in touch, I came a few times when he was a trainee during family visit, but that all stopped when I became a ranger." Dani explained
"Why couldn't you tell him" Z asked
~Flashback 3 years ago~
"Mom, why wont you let me talk to him" 17 year old Danielle pleaded to her mother.
"Its too dangerous for non rangers to associate with active rangers. Kimberly explained hating to see the pain in her daughter eyes
"She's right sweetheart, the amount of times your mother was used against me, and she was my teammate, but she was also my greatest weakness." Tommy said standing beside his wife as they remembered all the those times she was kidnapped, brainwashed, powerless.
"So, I cant see him or talk to him, he's my best friend" Danielle said trying to understand but also hurting without Sky.
"I know, but you wont be a ranger forever" Kimberly said kissing her forehead
FlashbackOne year ago~
"Danielle" Wes and Jessica Collins came up to Danielle at her parents funeral
"Mr and Mrs Collins" Danielle said with respect they were family but Danielle was emotionless and barely felt like herself
"Oh honey, we are so sorry, Sky has asked to come and see you" Jessica said hugging her knowing about Danielle's reasons for keeping her distance
"I cant not after what happened, I cant lose him to, please tell him I'm ok and that I miss him" Danielle asked as Skys parents nodded
Present Day~
"Dani, are you ok" Z asked as Dani was deep in flashback
"What…Oh, I'm sorry, um do you mind if I have some time alone, just to process everything?" Dani asked
"Of course not heres our numbers if you ever need anything" Z said as Syd gave her the numbers
"Thank you" Dani smiled as she watched the girls leave, once alone she began to settle in, unpack her belongings and carefully removing and placing the photographs of her former teams, her brothers, aunts, uncles, her parents and finally a picture of her and Sky from their last visit. As she was holding and looking at the photo running her finger across his face she heard a knock on the door and saw it was Sky.
"Hey" Dani smiled leaning against the doorway
"Hey, can I come in" Sky asked smiling back as Dani stepped aside and closed the door. Taking a deep breath she sighed turned to him and hugged him her face buried in his chest as his arms wrapped around her.
"Talk to me" Sky whispered pulling her away slightly as he led her to the bed
"I don't know where to start" Dani sighed looking at the floor.
"The last three years seem like a good place" Sky said lifting her chin so she could look at him, his face full of love and warmth, he was her safe place and no amount of time away would change that.
"It was after the last visit, I returned to the snow academy and found it destroyed, and in the rubble was a box with a white single morpher almost like it was waiting for me. I was so scared I remembered the stories our parents told us when they were rangers, I didn't think I was strong enough to take on this power and responsibility, all thought about was how much I needed you, I needed you to tell me I was strong enough." Dani explained as Sky took her hand in his and had her face him
"You are strong enough, never doubt otherwise" Sky said allowing her to continue
"I tried calling you, but my parents they stopped me, and for good reason, I could never live with myself if ever something happened to you because of me. Dani said as Sky jumped up
"I should have been there, they shouldn't have made that decision for you." Sky said as Dani got up and took his hand.
"But they were right, my own brothers were kidnapped and turned against me." Sky sighed seeing the sadness in her eyes and held her close.
"Dani, is that why you took Doggys offer, did you think you had to protect me." Sky said softly
"You're my best friend, these three years without you have been hell, I just wanted to be with you again and maybe part of me wanted to have your back" Dani looked up at him
"Well my white dove, now the secret is out, and I never want to be apart from you again." Sky smiled
"Dove and Phoenix forever" Dani and Sky linked their charms
"Forever" Sky repeated
