Jack and Rose walked in to the living room to see Tilly sat beside Sophia in the rocker as she spoke to her… their hearts melting at the sight. Jack sat on the sofa near Rose before he spoke up "Tilly?" She just looked at him cautiously "come here" he said gently. Tilly looked at Rose, unsure but she just gave a nod with a reassuring smile. She got up and walked over to him and he lifted her on to his lap "you know I love you, don't you?" Jack asked "James said you didn't like me" she looked up at him sadly "he was being unkind… I do like you… I love you in fact… you're my little girl, my side kick" he nodded "OK…" she said, a bit more confidence in her voice. "If I'm your little girl, does that mean you're my daddy?" She asked. Jack didn't know what to say and looked at Rose for help. Rose just shrugged, implying to was up to Tilly and Jack what she called him, she was happy with whatever "if you'd like me to be?" He asked. She nodded "yes please" she said quietly "then yes, I am" he smiled and kissed her head "and Sophia's? She needs a daddy too" She asked, making him laugh "and Sophia's too" "good" she looked at Rose "now we have a mummy and a daddy?" "yes sweetheart" Rose nodded and stroked her cheek.

They were interrupted by James walking in. "Can I have some breakfast?" He asked Jack "yes. I'll make you both some toast" he said as he lifted Tilly off his knee and put her on the sofa before leaving the room. Tilly moved beside Rose, away from James who sat down, ignoring the two of them. "I hear you want to go and live with your grandmother?" Rose asked James and he nodded in response "yeah, Jack is gonna find her for me" "are you sure it's what you want?" Rose raised an eyebrow "why does everyone keep asking me that?! Yes, I want to go with her!" He snapped. Rose just sighed, not answering.

The 4 of them sat down to eat breakfast once Jack had made it. "When are you going to find my Grandma, Jack?" James asked "I'll start looking today. First I have to go to the police station and explain what's happened though "do I get to come?!" He asked excitedly at the thought of going to a police station "you can if you want to I guess" he shrugged. "Do you want to come Tils?" Jack asked but she shook her head after getting a glare from James. "No thank you, I'll stay with Mummy" she smiled a little. "OK" he smiled gently at her.

Jack and James left the house later that day and headed to the police station.

"Ah. Mr Dawson. To what do we owe the pleasure?" The officer asked. "Hello" Jack smiled "I'm not sure where to begin… do you remember Jessica? My ex finance?" He asked. The officer nodded "yes?" "Well this is James, her son. Jessica arrived just under a month ago and asked… no, sorry, demanded, I take him so she could move to Atlanta with her husband. I originally said no but then she left him on my doorstep so I had no choice. She said she had no one else to take him, except I recently learnt that was in fact not true. James has a grandmother, and he wants to go and stay with her… the only problem is, we don't know where she is" he said. "Sorry, you're telling me that this child has been staying with you for almost a month without any formality?" The officer frowned confused, getting a nod from Jack in response. "We really should have been made aware of this sooner. This could cause a lot of problems, Mr Dawson" the officer sighed. "What?" He asked confused. "His grandmother could argue this was kidnapping" "what?! I didn't kidnap him!" Jack said surprised "she left him on my doorstep and told me he had no one! I had to take him in" he panicked. "Calm down, it's fine" the officer nodded "let's see if we can get this sorted. Come on through"

He led Jack and James in to a room and sat them down. "Now James, do you know your Grandmothers full name?" He asked. James nodded "Audrey Davies" "and do you know where she lives?" He replied but James shrugged "by the beach" "which beach?" The officer replied "don't know" was his response, making the officer sigh again. He looked at Jack "this isn't much to go of, Jack. 'By the beach' isn't very helpful… we're in America… there's a lot of beaches" "try and remember James, we can't help you otherwise… California? Alabama? Delaware? Florida?" Jack went to continue but James interrupted "Florida! I think" he nodded. Jack looked at the officer. "The best I can think of doing is contacting the police department there and having them look for her. But obviously Florida is a big place" the officer said. Jack nodded in response. "Thank you" "in the meantime, what would you like to do about the boy? Will you be keeping him with you?" The officer asked "yes, until we have some news he can stay with me and Rose" "OK… we'll be in touch with any updates. I'll contact the Florida police department now and see if we get any results" "thank you" Jack replied and followed the officer out of the room "take care" Jack smiled a little "and you" he replied as he picked up the phone.
