Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another exciting chapter of "A Long Distance Ship"! It is November 2nd, which means it is the second day of Pokeshipping Week! And to continue our weeklong celebration of Ash and Misty, I am going to give you another special chapter of this story. Now last time, Ash and friends made their way to Mauville City with plans to continue to Petalburg City, but they decided to take a detour to Verdanturf Town for May's next Pokemon Contest. How did the detour go for our heroes? Well, let's find out!

Hey Misty. We have made it to Verdanturf Town today after a hectic road there. After dealing with the TRio yet again, Skitty ended up getting sick thanks to ingesting my Torkoal's smoke, and without a Pokémon Center in the nearest town as well. We ended up going to a Pokémon clinic run by a doctor who treats Pokémon via massaging them in critical places. She also used to be a coordinator back in the day, and a past winner of the Grand Festival thanks to her Skitty (now evolved into a Delcatty), something that interested May a lot. She also helped May a lot as well as she helped her Skitty learn a new move in Blizzard which helped when they attacked yet again. It helped her decide to use Skitty in the upcoming contest. And it is going to be a tough one, as she is up against a masked coordinator named "The Phantom" who ended up wiping the floor against Drew with his Dusclops earlier on. I ended up having an encounter with The Phantom, but our battle was interrupted by a woman who he doesn't seem to want to be around. The woman says that her son Timmy kept disappearing, and since this "Phantom" guy always seems to appear where Timmy is last seen. Low and behold, Timmy and the Phantom are one and the same, as the Phantom is a persona Timmy takes on to compete in contests so his mother, who isn't a fan of Pokémon, finds out. Brock, May, and I helped keep the identity of the Phantom secret from Timmy's mom a secret for another day. Anyways, the contest is tomorrow and it looks like Timmy and May will be facing off. May will send you the highlights then!

Hey there, Ash. I am glad to hear that you have made it to Verdanturf Town safely. It is awesome that May got some help with her Skitty, and I wish her luck for when the contest comes tomorrow. That "Phantom" guy sounds like a very tough opponent for her to take on, and with most of Skitty's moves not being very effective against the ghost-type Dusclops. And I could see why he would want to take on a persona with how his mother feels about his choice to become a coordinator. I hope that she comes around and sees her son eye to eye sooner rather than later. I will talk to you after the contest tomorrow.

Misty

And that just about does it for this chapter of "A Long Distance Ship". I would like to thank the user wolfy1000, who decided to add this story to his favorites list yesterday. Thank you so much. If the rest of you guys favorite and or follow this story, I am sure we will hit the next couple of milestones by the time the 7th rolls around. It will all show how much you love the story as we approach the first anniversary of Ash and Misty exchanging their first email. Anyways, I will see you all next time.

Oh, and congratulations to the Texas Rangers for winning the first World Series title in their over sixty-year history!
