I felt so bad for you guys. I had the feeling you were so ready for the graduation party so... I wrote this in my breaks when I was working and in the evening. I wanted to give you guys more. Yet, it is still a build-up chapter but at least, all I can say, the progress is there!
Enjoy!
Finally! It was Wednesday! Today was Rhonda's party.
It was nine o'clock in the morning when the doorbell rang. Miriam opened the door and saw Phoebe standing with her parents.
"Good morning Mrs. Pataki." Phoebe said with a smile.
''Good morning Phoebe. Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Heyerdahl.'' Miriam said.
'' Good morning. May we call you Miriam? Just call us Kyo and Reba. It's a lot easier.'' Reba laughed.
'' Sure! I don't care. Come in.'' Miriam said and the Heyerdahl family walked inside.
Bob walked around in his work clothes. '' I'm late. I'll see you tonight.'' he said and gave Miriam a kiss and went outside.
"I'll see you tonight too." Kyo said and gave his wife and daughter a kiss before he left.
The women stayed behind in the living room.
''Phoebe, would you please wake Helga. She has been reading a book in the middle of the night again.'' Miriam said with a sigh.
"Yes, I will." Phoebe said and sprinted up the stairs.
''Is your daughter also that hyper? She can't wait to go to that party with Gerald.'' Reba said as she sat down on the couch.
Miriam sat down in Bob's chair and smiled pleasantly. '' Quit it. Helga remains quite down-to-earth, except for one thing.
She asked me quite shyly yesterday if she could stay the night at Arnold's. I said yes of course."
"Does your husband know that you gave permission?" Reba asked.
''He knows about it. We are not crazy of course, but those two have been together for so long and long for each other.
Stella, Arnold's mother talked extensively with him and I talked with Helga. It will definitely turn out fine.'' Miriam said.
Meanwhile, Phoebe was sitting next to Helga's bed. A book by Shakespeare lay next to Helga.
"Wake up Helga." Phoebe shouted but Helga didn't respond. Suddenly Phoebe had an idea and started giggling.
"Ooh Hey Arnold!" Phoebe shouted and Helga sat up in bed.
''Arnold?! Where?!'' Helga shouted as she looked around and came to the conclusion that Phoebe had tricked her.
''Pheebs!'' Helga complained as she sat down on the edge of her bed.
''Come on, Helga! Our mothers are waiting for us, we are going to pamper ourselves today."
"I'm waiting for that..." Helga said sarcastically.
Meanwhile, Arnold was busy cleaning his room. The idea to decorate the roof fell through due to rain that came over late at night.
Stella said that more nights were coming and that being intimate together in his room would certainly be a nice moment.
Everything was dusted, clean sheets, the candles were ready in a safe place.
Stella would put up the flowers and light the candles before they got home so that worked out fine too.
He had Helga's shampoo and conditioner and the pack of sanitary towels in the bathroom.
There was a thick towel ready to put under Helga's. Arnold didn't want her to panic if the sheets got covered in blood.
So one more thing remained. He walked to the drawer of his desk and opened it.
He took the box of condoms out of the drawer and looked at it.
Arnold didn't have to practice how it worked. He had used the condoms Harold and Sid had given them as a joke when he left for San Lorenzo.
He placed the box on a shelf next to his bed. Finally he and Helga could become one together. How often he dreamed about her.
He walked away from his bed to the closet and took out his suit. He had a pastel blue vest with matching pants. His shirt was navy blue in color.
Arnold had a lot of feelings at this moment. He couldn't wait to be at that party with his friends.
Gerald said he had bought a dark red vest with matching trousers and a dark gray shirt.
Gerald also told that Phoebe was going to wear blue and that he had bought her a blue wrist corsage.
Arnold had also bought a wrist corsage for Helga.
He had asked Helga what flowers she liked and she had said carnations.
So Arnold bought a corsage with pink and white carnations, baby's breath and some green leaves around it.
He had everything ready. Arnold looked at the time. It was only ten o'clock in the morning. The party started at five o'clock this afternoon.
Maybe he went to the arcade for a while.
He called Gerald if he wanted to come along and Gerald didn't say no.
When time passes and Helga and Phoebe are back home, Helga is relaxed because of the wonderful massages she had.
The nails were also done and their faces were clean of any blemishes.
Now Helga, Phoebe, Miriam and Reba were in Helga's room preparing the dresses.
When Miriam takes Helga's dress, Phoebe and her mother let out a sound of disbelief.
"What a beautiful dress, Helga! Where did you get that from?" Phoebe asks.
"I had the dress from Arnold. The dress is from San Lorenzo." said Helga.
"Arnold's? But that must have been an expensive dress!" says Reba.
Helga felt a little embarrassed but also incredibly proud of her Arnold.
Reba told Phoebe to shower first since it took her longer than Helga.
Miriam went downstairs to get something tasty and something to drink. It took several hours to make up the two girls.
When Phoebe finished showering, Helga went to the bathroom.
She looked in the mirror. She had a premonition. Something was going to happen tonight.
She had already filled her backpack with clean clothes, underwear and her notebook.
She looked at the lingerie set lying on the lid of the laundry basket.
Their mothers went to help put on the dresses. Phoebe had already told her mother what she was wearing and what for.
Helga stepped into the shower and let the water run. This was all new to Helga.
But one thing was certain, it would be a great evening.
When Helga finished showering and dried herself off, she put on the lingerie. Then she put on her dressing gown and left the bathroom.
When she entered her bedroom, Reba was working Phoebe's hair with a curling iron.
"Come Helga, I will comb out your hair so that Reba can style it for you later," Miriam said.
It was rare to get this kind of attention from her mother but Helga was happy that her mother wanted to do this so she sat on the chair and Miriam took the brush and started to comb her hair.
"So Phoebe, how do you feel about this?" Reba said and Phoebe looked in the mirror.
The ends of her hair were curled and she had a half braid that was pulled up into a bun.
And the hydrangea hair clip was attached to the bun. And Reba had put a few strips of blue hair mascara through it.
''It's beautiful, Mom. Thank you!'' Phoebe said and Reba smiled.
"Now it's your turn Helga."
"Gerald, hurry up!" said Arnold. "Your hair is good enough!"
Arnold and Gerald's parents had already gone to Helga's house to watch their children leave for the party together.
Arnold was allowed to borrow his grandfather's old Packard and so they left in the car.
Once we arrived and were waiting in Helga's living room, all the parents were there and Olga of course.
"I'm starting to get a little nervous." Gerald said and Arnold nodded.
He had the corsage in his hand and was looking at it until he heard some stomping on the stairs.
Helga and Phoebe had come downstairs and were whispering in the hallway. Miles turned on the video camera so he could record everything.
How long did it take them to get in? It took ages, maybe even a minute, but Arnold's nerves almost broke.
Until... Phoebe walked in wearing a midnight blue dress that reached her ankles. Everything was covered with pebbles that glittered like stars in the night.
The straps of her dress were decorated with rhinestones. Her make-up, salmon-colored lips, mascara, eyeliner and a bronze complexion made Phoebe a bit exotic.
Gerald's eyes were wide in bewilderment but he quickly recovered. He walked up to her and bowed to her and took her hand and placed the corsage on her wrist.
"You look beautiful." Gerald said with a satisfied grin and Phoebe giggled. "You look good yourself."
"Oh isn't this unique?" Olga said as she clapped her hands together.
Lots of pictures were taken of Gerald and Phoebe. Arnold laughed, they really made a beautiful couple together.
"Helga, it's your turn, come!" Phoebe shouted and everyone became quiet, waiting for Helga.
Helga slowly emerged and everyone let out a noise.
Helga wore the dress and it looked great on her. She was wearing soft peach gloss, her skin glistened with shimmer lotion.
She had a little blush on. Her hair was half curled and half up, and her carnation hair clip was attached to it.
Everyone was silent for a moment...
"Criminy... Helga..." Bob muttered. Never thought his youngest could look so beautiful.
Arnold was enchanted, his Helga had escaped like a fairy from a storybook. Helga in turn was enchanted, Arnold was simply the most handsome man on the planet.
Arnold walked slowly towards Helga and stood still for a moment to admire Helga up close. Then he took her hand and placed his lips on the back of her hand.
He looks at her, she looks at him, and together they cut everyone off from their world.
Then he placed the corsage around her wrist and Helga smiled gently. Arnold looked into Helga's eyes and placed his hand on her cheek.
''Helga... you are enchantingly beautiful. It's an honor to be your partner all this time.'' Arnold said.
''Thank you, Arnold. I also feel honored and proud to be your partner."
As far away as Arnold and Helga were in their own world, a pair of parents stood blinking away a few tears.
"There they go again, in their own little world." Gerald said and Phoebe laughed.
"I'm so proud of my little sister." Olga cried as she grabbed a tissue.
The parents took pictures of the four of them together and then it was time.
Time to go to Rhonda's party!
