Kaiju Fighters Ch. 34 Halloween Special Final

Mosura now sits in the back of an ambulance with Gojira standing watch. Once of the EMTs wrapped a blanket around her, another one, a woman walks up to her to hand over a bottle. "Here. This should help with the headaches."

"Thank you," the guardian of peace accepts the offer. She was about to take one of the pills when the voice of Newt reached her ears.

"Stop!" he comes running up to them as soon as he reaches them, he leans over trying to catch his breath. "Hermann's right. I need to hit the gym more."

"Excuse me, sir. This area is off limits," the EMT tells him.

"No, you see. It's alright. I'm her doctor," Newt pulls out his license. "How much of that are you prescribing?"

"A double dose. I'm sure we can handle something as miniscule as a headache."

"You see, not only are you wrong, your stupid. She's a kaiju."

"So?"

"So?" he repeats. "So, much for being a medical professional. Mosura Hikari is a kaiju," Newt explains. "Her metabolism is much faster than ours. A double dose for her won't do a thing. She'll need at least three times that amount every four to six hours to actually have any effect," the doctor pulls out a small pamphlet. "Here. This is everything you need to know for basic kaiju care."

The EMT reluctantly accepts the pamphlet before heading back to the front of the ambulance.

Newt then walks up to Mosura and Gojira. "So, who was it?"

Gojira is the first to answer. "It was Gabara."

"Don't think I've heard that one?"

Mosura tells him, "That's because we didn't know he was real," she explains. "He seems to be some sort of Nightmare being. A, uh, boogeyman if you will. He gains strength from fear. He, he was able to get into get into our heads to use our fears and insecurities against us."

"Is that why Anguirus locked himself in the closest, mumbling something about desk jobs?"

"Yeah," she confirms.

"Interesting," Newt mumbles "I wonder if we could use that for Drift research."

Mosura can feel Gojira glancing back at her. "Newt, why don't you go over to the EMTs to discuss working with us further?"

Newt salutes. "I'll get right on it, boss."

Gojira lets out a grunt. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"No, not really," she sighs. "But you won't stop worrying until I do."

"I believe I have the right to worry. In all the time I've known you, I have never seen you like that."

"I'm always like that, Gojira," she confesses. "Ever since my birth, I had the weight of the entire world on my shoulders. I was born just in time to watch my own mother die. As many of my predecessors have. That kind of pressure is constant in my life. I've learned to put on a mask to hide my true emotions," she sighs. "I've come to find that emotions are more fragile for humans than what I initially thought. But when I thought I saw Fairy," she chokes on a sob before turning to her friend. "Do you know what Fairy is, Gojira?" the question only received a no from the kaiju king. "She is a piece of my essence, my own lifeforce given its own existence. Fairy and I had this connection where I knew where she was at all times and even then, she was always in the care of Moll and Lora. I got lucky with those two when I woke up here. But Fairy? Our connection was severed when we crossed over. I have no idea if she's safe or whether or not she's alive. I don't even know if she came with us."

"So, when you saw her?"

"That mask melted away as soon as I thought I found her. Every bit of my emotions came out all at once. Gojira, I-I thought I found my daughter," Mosura felt herself losing her composure again.

Gojira places a hand on her should in an attempt to calm her down. "We will find her, Mosura. I know we will."

Mosura could only smile. She knows that Gojira is so stubborn that when he has his mind set on something he'll tear through the entire city to help her search for Fairy if he has to. What scares her is that she knows that he is capable of doing so. In the past, their predecessors were enemies. But now? She could not ask for a better friend.

Gojira's head jerks away from her. Mosura smiles as she knows why. For her senses have become accustomed to the presence.

"Go," Mosura tells him. "I'll be alright."

Gojira only nods as he leaves, parting ways from the guardian of peace and makes his way to where Kimiko is showing her badge to some police officers.

When she sees the kaiju, the woman immediately excused herself from the officers to approach him. "Goji, I'm so sorry. The meetings went on longer than I thought but, I came as soon as…" she is stopped mid-sentence as the agent finds the arms wrapped around her. The action was unlike Gojira. After a moment, she could do nothing but hug him back.

"Do you think I'm a monster?" he whispers.

Kimiko backs away and looks directly into his worried eyes. "You are many things, Goji," she tells him as she places a hand on the side of his face. "But a monster is not one of them."

Gojira could only smile at hearing those words. After what he had been through he needed to hear that. He reaches up and grabs the hand as he is enjoying the warmth they provide him with.

Gabara is being thrown into the back of an armored transport by some soldiers. They put some collar on him preventing the use of his mental abilities and the shackles completely encase his hands, making his secondary power useless.

Just as a soldier was about to slam the doors shut, a calm voice spoke to the soldier.

"I need to speak to him, please," the soldier only nods and steps to the side. Mosura comes into Gabara's sight with a stoic face. But the blood shots in her eyes leaves evidence of her crying fit from earlier. "Where's my daughter?"

Hearing this, Gabara just smiles as he tells her. "Wouldn't you like to know."
