"It'll be okay Sof we'll FaceTime everyday before you go to bed," Arizona smiled.

"Promose mommy," Sofia looked up.

"I promise goose," Arizona nodded her head.

"Promise you won't forget me," Sofia started to cry all over again.

"Aww Sofia no one could every forget you. You're too amazing to forget," Arizona tried her best not to cry. "And I'll see you in a week when I come to New York to pick out your new school."

"I don't want to go to school in New York. New York is boring," Sofia crossed her arms.

"You haven't even been to New York."

"But you're not there and Zola's not there so it's boring."

"I think i see Momma," Arizona tried to change the tooic.

"Really, where," Sofia started to search.

"Rigjt there," Arizona pointed to over to the sitting area and Sofia took off.

"Momma," Sofia ran over.

"Sofia," Callie put the magazine down and stood up opening her arms.

"Momma," Sofia repeated as she buried her face in Callie's shirt.

"Sofia, what happened," Callie asked as Sofia cried.

She look over to Arizona to go some kind of scoop on what happened to their little girl.

"New York won't have mommy or any of my friend," Sofia cried harder.

"Oh but you make new friends, yeah," Callie bent down to Sofias level.

"Its so hard to make friends," Sofia cried.

"But it'll be easy for you just flash your smile and be nice and you'll have all the friend you need," Callie tried to reassure her.

"She right though," Arizona spoke.

"What," Callie stood up to face arizona.

"It is hard to make friends when you move even if you're the nicest kid around. So at least be realistic she won't make a friend for the first whole month and she'll be miserable but she'll get over it and by month two she'll have a friend. But it'll be hard and people will pick on her because of her size but you'll rebuild her confidence and she'll learn to ignore them," Arizona started to cry.

"Did your mom do that," Callie asked?

"No my mom said if they hit you hit back, and so I did, so I kinda bullied the bully in a way. So I never made friends aside from Nick and Tim. And my dads friends kids where always so girly they wanted to play princess with out the dragon and instead of the princess riding the dragon their princesses had tea," Arizona said wiping her tears.

"Can we play princess and dragon," Sofia asked?

"Yes tomorrow in New York," Callie smiled.

"Gate 12 opening for Flight 35," A man over the loud speaker annoucned.

"Oh that's us," Callie quipped.

"Come here goose," Arizona opened her arms.

"I love you mommy," Sofia whispered as she cling to Arizona.

"I love you too goose," Arizona said letting go.

"Is it my turn to be brave," Sofia wondered, thinking back to there conversation in the car.

"Yes it's your turn," Arizona bent down to Sofias level.

"Okay," Sofia reached up a wipe a tear but it only made Arizona cry harder.

"i think it's time for you to go Sof," Arizona spoke up.

"Yeah we should get going Sofia," Callie grabbed her hand.

"Okay," Sofia waved as they start to walk away.

Arizona waved back with a smile as a single tear fell from her eyes. She couldn't move even though Sofia and Callie where already through the gate she couldnt move. Even after it had felt like shed been standing for hours she still couldn't move. It wasnt until an older women came and tapper her on her shoulder.

"I was wondering where did you get you shoes, they're really nice?"

"Oh these where's gift to me," Arizona smiled before walking off.

"Do you think this is the right thing," Callie asked Meredith?

"What do you mean," Meredith wondered?

"Me leaving going to New York?"

"Honeslty no, chasing behind some resident who probably doesn't want what you want," Meredith answered?

"Whats that supposed to mean?"

"A good night to you is watching a movie with Sofia and a glass of wine. Not that you dont go to bars anymore but youre not there every night and now you have Sofia every single day and its going to be harder to get time alone especially in a new city where you dont know any one. But its what you do," Meredith sighed.

"What does that mean Meredith?"

"You told me you left to find yourself to feel free and a month later you're dating again. That's doesn't seem like finding yourself you just feel into old habits. You did what you do best you found some one to lay under you and you clung. You're a stage five clinger, you love the idea of being in love and you hung on to that," Meredith explained.

"That's," Callie was stunned by Meredith's honesty.

"Its the truth and you needed to hear it. You asked, Arizona has been struggling since she bought those tickets. She's been bending and breaking herself trying to make you happy. And your blissfully oblivious to it all just in your own world. I dont think you ever stopped for one moment to think about how this has effected everyone around you," Meredith pointed out.

"You know what Sofia waking up i have to go," Callie lied.

"I dont mean to rude but i think you need to hear it," Meredith said, realizing how rude she sounded.

"Yeah well I have to go," Callie huffed.

"I can't believe my baby is gone," Arizona felt like she couldn't breathe.

"You'll see her next week and technically when ever you want to since you have sole custody," Teddy mentioned.

"My baby."

"I know but you'll be okay and shell be safe and well taken care of," Teddy stated, trying to get Arizona to calm down.

"I wish i could run away with Sofia to Germany," Arizona admitted.

"I could get you a job at Medcom your military kid so you can work here," Teddy told her.

"I couldnt take her from Callie, no matter how tempting that offer sounds," Arizona let a out sad laugh, at the thought of doing what Callie just did to her.

"I think you need a vacation to just escape a little bit you know. This last year has been hell for you, and I think you deserve some tropical sun and i have some vacation days," Teddy suggested.

"No i need to bury myself in work, thats what takes my mind of this," Arizona insisted.

"Well all my offers still stand, you know i haven't seen Sofia in years and its only a four hour drive to go see Cristina Yang," Teddy pointed out.

"Teddy seriously," Arizona laughed again.

"Okay ill stop," Teddy smirked.

"How is Mr. Spain doing," Arizona asked, trying to get her mind of Sofia and into Teddys marvelous dating life.

"Oh Mr. Spain is out Ms. Nurse is in," Teddy told her.

"Really, i thought it was going good," Arizona wondered why they ended it?

"It was till he showed me his apartment, hes in his thirties and still lives with his mom. Not because he has too and its not like his mom lives with him, no he lives with her. Which she had to clear up, so i ran as fast as i could," Teddy explained.

"SO hows Ms nurse," Arizona wanted to know?

"She's short, brunette, and makes the best hot coco after sex and she has a pretty orange cat, we've been on four dates so far and i think its going good," Teddy smiled.

"You think she can be the one," Arizona questioned?

"I dont know i dont think im looking for the one i think i just want to have fun, my whole love life i fallen in love with people I shouldn't and I never get them i mean , Allison ,Owen , Henry and so im done looking for my happily ever after."

"That sounds sad."

"No its freeing you should try it."

"Maybe i wi

it was like time itself had froze and everything stopped. Arizona tried her best to stomp on the brakes but it was no use because even if she stopped the other car wouldnt. So as Arizona stomp the brakes the other car speed up and slammed into

"Arizona."

Arizona," She repeated.

But it was no use as the car behind her pulled over and got out to see the damage.

"Ma'am," The man spoke.

"Ma'am," He repeated.

"Oh my god is some one there," Teddy asked through the phone?

"Yeah im here is someone else in the car," the guy asked?

"No im on the phone, could you do me a favor and check to see if she's still breathing," Teddy asked?

he put his ear to her chest.

"Yep heart still beating lungs still breathing."

"Can you tell me what street your on so I can call and ambulance," Teddy questioned ?

"I already did they're on their way," He mentioned.

"Okay can you make sure they bring her to Grey Sloan," Teddy insisted.

"Yes ma'am," He agreed.

"You're a saint," Teddy praised.

"I'm just doing what any good human would," he spoke.

"Arizona Robbins, age 38, lacerations to the hands face and arm, found unconscious at the scene, Bp is stable," Nicole called out as the door s opened. And audible gasp was heard as she was rolled out of the ambulance on the stretcher,

"Oh Arizona, we are going to fix you right up," Bailey said once she saw them take her out of the ambulance.

I looked like she had a hundred lacerations across her body. Every though it was more like 20 everything looked so big.

"Oh,"Arizona woke up with a panic.

"Hey, dont fight, we got you, you'll be okay," Bailey uttered.

"Where am i," Arizona continued to fight?

"Come on just lay down," Bailey tried to get her to settle down.

Jackson came with a sedative to calm Arizona down.

"Where am i," Arizona asked again?

"Just lay down," Bailey coaxed.

"Okay," Arizona slowly went back down.

"What happened to her," Amelia asked putting on gloves.

"I paged Neuro i think she might have a concussion and maybe a brain bleed since she was found concussion," Wilson told Bailey.

"That was the right thing, check her out Shepherd then page Pierce, I already checked her out and there seems to be nothing wrong with her poutwardly so after pierce checks her out get her up to imaging I want X-ray, ct, and a MRI then have Avery come stitch her up. But clean her up for now while Shephard is working," Miranda instructed.

"Maybe you can take a step back have Meredith do this, if its too much," AMelia heard the quiver in Mirandas voice

"It's not to much I just need a second, page me before you take her up for imaging," Miranda requested before leaving out of the trauma room.

"How did this happen," Amelia said out loud.

"Nicole said the car hit her right side, so I don't even know what caused her to pass out.I mean she seemingly has nothing wrong with her heart maybe she has some underlaying condition or something. But her blood pressure is steady, she's breathing fine," Maggie tried to come up with something.

"Arizona never deserved this, i mean she was coming from the airport to let her kid move thousands of miles away," Amelia spoke.

"I couldn't imagine giving up a kid," Maggie sighed.

"It was so selfless of her."

"I think shes still in love with Callie."

"Images are up," Amelia pointed out.

"Wow," They said at the same time.

A tumor the size of a grapefruit was sat right in the middle of her frontal lobe.

"Jesus," Maggie whispered.

"This has been there for a while,"Amelia spoke up first.

"How big is it," Maggie wondered.

"To me it looks about 7 or 8 cm id estimate," Amelia guessed.

"How long do you think it's been growing," Maggie questioned.

"It's hard to tell just through imaging but I'd say years," Amelia told her.

"Do you think she'll wake," Maggie wondered.

"I hope, and pray," Amelia admitted.

"I think shes waking," Is what arizona was greeted with once she regain consciousness.

"She is," She recognized these voice.

"Arizona how are you felling," Amelia asked

"My head," Arizona said once she opened her eyes.

"Does it hurt," Amelia asked?

"I have a migraine ive had them for years," Arizona answered.

"Why didnt you ever get it check out, Arizona," April questioned?

"It's just migraines," Arizona shrugged.

"Do you know what year it is," Amelia wondered?

"2015," Arizona replied.

"Who is the president," Amelia continued with her line of questioning.

"Barack Obama," Arizona answered confused.

"Can you follow thre light."Amelia instructed and arizona followed the pen light with her eyes.

"can you wiggle your toes," Amelia gave another instruction.

Arizona tired but nothing happened.

"Wait i cant move my toes," Arizona started to panic.

"Can you feel that," Amelia moved the back of her pant light across the bottom of Arizonas foot.

"Yes, why cant i move my toes," Arizona wondered?

"You where in a car accident," Meredith stepped forward.

"Good so im losing another leg," Arizona concluded.

"No its not that," Meredith shook her head.

"Then why is everyone in here have a sad expression," Arizona questioned?

"Dr. Edwards," Amelia spoke.

"Arizona Robbins, age 38 lacerations to skin on the face upper arm and hand with a tumor on her frontal lobe," Stephanie read off the tablet.

"Tumor," Arizona voice became small.

"Dr. Avery has treated the lacerations," Stephanie continued.

"Tumor," Arizona said louder.

"Yes you have a tumor pressing down on your frontal lobe," Amelia cleared her throat.

"Let me see," Arizona breathed.

Dr. Edwards passed her ther tablet with the scans.

"This can't be right," Arizona stared at the tumor in the scans.

"We have reason to believe its been growing for six years.'

"So right before I left for Malawi.'

"It is around 7.5 cm," Amelia stated.

"So its been growing this whole time."

"Yes."

"The migraines only started 2 years ago," Arizona admitted.

"That's when it started to press down on here,"She pointed to the scans.

"So, i have a tumor?"

"Yes, but I believe I can get it out."

"I believe, they teach you during residency to say i believe to put faith in the patient when the odds are slim."

"This is a big tumor and other doctors would turn you away but i have full faith I can get it," Amelia expressed.

"What if i dont let you operate."

"Well its been effecting your impulse control for the last four years, and now its starting to spill over into the area that controls you motor function and next it'll be speech and sight then it'll be your sound. And eventually you'll end up a vegetable, you wont be able to move see , hear or talk, and I mean they have things that could help you. But your quality of life with be decreased," Amelia told her.

Arizona tried to wiggle her toes but it proved to be difficult.

"How long do i have till it starts," Arizona wondered?

"The car crash as fast tracked some of your symptoms, so i say give or take a month it'll you be completely paralyzed. I assume it'll take long till your sight, speech and hearing so i say give or take till the end of the year."

"You're saying that to scare me."

"No Arizona shes not," April chimed in.

"How about we give her some space to process this," Amelia suggested.

"Hey love bug how's New York," Arizona answered the phone with the brightest smile.

"It's boring because youre not here," Sofia replied.

"Oh you'll get used to it," Arizona waved the comment off.

"I dont think so i want to go back to Seattle, i miss Zola and i miss you," Sofia added.

"Aww you'll make new friends and Zola will be here when you get back," Arizona told her.

"How's work mommy," Sofia asked?

"Oh you know, same old Same old," Arizona expressed.

"Momma said i cant come play doctor with her," Sofia mentioned.

"Well its a new hospital so you'll have to wait a while before you get to be a doctor again," Arizona explained.

"I miss you, I cant wait to see you next week."

"I cant wait to see you too."

"Mommas been helping me count out the days todays Sunday so that means we have...8 more days till you come on Monday," Sofia smiled extra wide as she thought of her mommy being with her.

"It is," Arizona tried to keep from crying knowing the reality was that she wouldn't see her in 8 days.

"Yea cuz momma said it next Monday not this one," Sofia went on.

"Alright goose i think its time for you to finish getting ready for bed," Arizona suggested before she booked down in front of her daughter.

"But all i have to do is out on my pajamas," Sofia tried.

"Youll talk to me again later just past the phone to your momma,"Arizona tried to convince her.

"Alright mommy, love you," Sofia sighed giving up.

"I love you to goose," Arizona replied.

"Bye bye," Sofia waved before getting up and walking worthy he phone. "Mommy wants to talk to you," She heard in the background.

"Alright hand me the phone," She heard Callie speak.

"Okay, bye," She saw the daughter sweet face come in the frame one last time before turning her camera off.

"Hi," Callie smiled.

"Hey Callie um i wont be able to make it New York," Arizona said straight out the gate.

"i think something wrong your camera is turned off," Callie ignored her.

"No i turned it off," Arizona told trying to get her to listen.

"Look i got a lot going on so i can't come to New York next week something came up," Arizona repeated.

"What, what do you mean?"

"I mean i cant come next week."

"Whatever it is im sure it can be move."

"It's a big surgery, I cant move it," Arizona lied.

"Call Addie I'm sure she can take it," Callie tried to search for a solution to there problem.

"She cant i already called her," Arizona lied again.

"I can't tell Sofia that youre not coming shes been waiting to see you since we got on the plane," Callie started to panic.

"Im sorry but i have to do this," Arizona breathed.

"She can still call you right," Callie ran her hands through her hair.

"It'll be best if she didn't," Arizona advised.

"Is something going on, Arizona?"Callie wondered, this wasn't like Arizona.

"Im fine," Arizona

"Then why are you pulling away," Callie questioned?

"Look its better this way."

"For who for you, its not better for Sofia, think about her," Callie argued.

"She's the only thing i ever think about why," Arizona yelled.

"Look this move is a really big adjustment and she needs her mommy, so please just come to New York," Callie begged.

"I can't, I'm sorry," Arizona said.

"I worry for you, you know. I still worry for you," Callie admitted.

"You gave up that right when you walked out of that office," Arizona spat.

"You're the mother of my child, i can still worry about you," Callie argued.

"Well dont, look i have to go,"Arizona lied just wanting this conversation to end.

"You know what ever is going on you can tell me," Callie tried to get something out of her.

"Goodbye, Calliope," Arizona uttered before hanging up.

"Is there anything I can do for you," asked the night nurse?

"It would be amazing if you could get me some paper and a pencil and some envelopes," Arizona requested.

"Ill see what I can do," she chirped.

"Thank you," Arizona smiled.

'You aren't trying to plan your own funeral," Maggie teased as she walked into the room.

"No i just want to write some letters, you know just in case something happens so i can get everything off my chest," Arizona admitted.

"You know thats smart," Maggie thought about it.

"Speaking of getting things off my chest, i need to update my medical proxy, and i was wondering if youd do it," Arizona had a panicky look in her eye.

"Do what," Maggie was taken aback.

"Be my medical proxy," Arizona repeated with a nervous smile.

"Why me, why not April," Maggie asked?

"Love her but shes too religious shed keep on a vent for years if i died, and she just had a c section with a kitchen knife performed by a resident," Arizona told her.

"Meredith," Maggie tried.

"She's got to much on her plate."

"Alex?"

"If he had to make any medical decision about me it would break him."

'What about," Maggie tried to come up with another name.

"Look i would ask teddy but shes all the way in Germany and i dont want to bother her with my medical drama, the last one to do that married her. And I'm not ready for marriage," Arizona joked.

"What about Richard."

"Look you know me but not well enough to keep me after im long gone. You wont let emotion get in the way and maybe this is the tumor talking but i dont want people to have to deal with me just like unplug me after the third week you know."

"I cant,"Maggie choked up.

"Please i have tumor," Arizona begged.

"Seriously," Maggie couldn't believe she was pulling the tumor card.

"A very large tumor might i add," Arizona pointed out.

"Fine," Maggie sighed.

"Here's the supplies you wanted," the nurse said with the requested stationary in hand.
