"You should get some sleep," Meredith slide into the room.

"I can't sleep," Callie mumbled.

"You can't or you haven't tried," Meredith asked?

"I literally can't, I'm scared I'll close my eyes and she'll be gone," Callie felt a tear fall.

"Amelia's too good job for that. Don't tell her I told you that," Meredith joked.

Callie let out a small laugh.

"No, I know but there's a small illogical thing in my brain telling me if I close my eyes she's going to slip away again," Callie tried to explain what she felt but was coming short.

"No I get it, I understand that feeling," Meredith admitted watched Arizona.

Callie sighed not know what to say next.

"How about I watch her for a few hours you go to my house and take a nap in my bed and then eat a full meal in the morning," Meredith suggested.

"I can impose on your household like that," Callie shook her head.

"It's not imposing if I'm offering," Meredith pointed out.

"I don't know," Callie looked at Arizona.

"I'll text Maggie to pick you up when she's done with her shift and I'll ask Amelia to bring you back her when she comes in for work," Meredith wiped out her phone.

"Meredith," Callie groaned.

"You'll be of no use to Arizona if you're all sleepy and groggy, when she wakes," Meredith was right but Callie didn't want to admit it.

"You promise you'll stay here all night," Callie asked?

"Promise," Meredith nodded.

"You text me if anything happens?"

"I'll keep my phone right next to me."

"Promise?"

"Promise,"Meredith smiled.

"Alright I'll leave," Callie sighed.

"And shower while you're at it," Meredith teased.

"Meredith I left her alone for eight hours and her stats were elevated," Callie sighed.

"You watching her like a hawk isn't going to magically keep her alive," Meredith was right but Callie couldn't move.

"You left for one night, stats elevate at night sometimes. She's fine now," Meredith assured.

"What are you here to bother me about now," Callie groaned.

"I just want you to get out of this room for a bit talk to someone other than me," Meredith suggested.

"I talked to the nurse this morning," Callie pointed out.

"Callie you know what I mean," Meredith sighed.

"Meredith I'm not leaving her side," Callie turned to face Meredith.

"Just step outside, stretch you legs, grab a cup of coffee from the coffee cart," Meredith tried.

"I don't want to leave," Callie bit out.

"Just for a bit it's not health you're going to go stir crazy," Meredith offered.

Callie sighed getting up.

"I'm only doing this so you'll leave me alone."

"You'll feel better afterwards," Meredith smiled.

(You'll edit the post op day two scene outside.

"I'm not used to a quiet Robbins," Amelia spoke up.

"I've seen quiet Robbins and she's scary," Alex quipped.

"I wish she would just speak," Amelia said.

"How is she?"

"Is she talking?" April and Maggie asked at the same time.

"Nope," Amelia answered.

"Did you call her parents yet," Maggie wondered.

"Did you unplug her yet," Alex asked in a sarcastic tone.

The whole table broke into small laughter.

"That's not funny at all," April spoke up.

"What not funny Kepner," Callie question as she got close to the table.

Amd the laughter grew louder.

"I mean who see makes someone promise not to cut off their rotting leg," Amelia ignored the question.

"How did she know that?" Callie thought as she took a sip of her coffee.

"That was the tumor," Meredith chuckled.

"I mean how did you miss this," April wondered.

"I wish I had a tumor to blame my stupid crap on," Alex remarked.

"No, guys," April tried to stop the jokes as Callie stood there awkwardly.

"Deluca Im sorry I hit you. Tumor," Alex joked.

"This is not cool," April said while chuckling.

"Riggs, tumor," Meredith mocked.

"New York," Callie added.

"Oh don't encourage this," Maggie started.

"What, you have to laugh just a little bit Pierce. When stuff like this happens you have to laugh," Callie insisted.

"She trusted me with her life I don't get to laugh," Maggie brought up.

And they all yelled. "TUMOR." This time Maggie joined the chorus of laughter.

Amelia was the first to stop looking down at her phone to check her text.

"It got a text from Edwards," Amelia said, getting the table to quiet down. "Arizona talking," Amelia got up.

"Really," Callie questioned.

"Yes," Amelia took off running.

"She's talking?" April ran in.

"Sort of," Dr. Edwards said.

¿Puedes traerme un poco de agua?," Arizona spoke in Spanish.

"That's Spanish," Amelia stated.

"She's doesn't speak Spanish she speaks German," April brought up.

"Spanish," Callie asked?

"Yeah but she speaks German," April repeated.

"I spoke it to Sofia and she took lesson for a bit, she stopped right after the wedding," Callie let them know.

"¿Puedes traerme un poco de agua? Tengo sed," Arizona spoke again.

"Well what is she saying," Meredith asked?

"¿Puedes por favor darme un poco de agua?," Arizona asked for the umpteenth time.

"She wants a glass of water," Callie translated.

"I guess she really did absorb it," Callie mumbled.

"Gracias," Arizona mumbled as Alex brought the straw up to her lips.

"It's amazing she's speaking a language she doesn't even know," April commented.

"I've seen this before. It reverses on its own, but this is good. It's still good, it's progress," Meredith mentioned.

"Arizona, ¿podrías intentar hablar inglés por nosotras?"Callie questioned.

"Ni siquiera sabía que podía hablar español," Arizona replied.

"What'd she say," Alex asked, and they all looked to Callie.

"I asked if she could speak in English and she said she didn't even know she could speak in Spanish,"Callie explained.

"You think Sofia should see her it'll be super confusing with Arizona all hooked up and speaking in Spanish," Meredith asked?

"Sofia has been blowing up my phone so much to the point where I had to block my own daughters email. Which i didnt even know she knew how to email. And fortunate for me my father still has a land line so now that's blocked too," Callie explained.

"Well you left with no explanation," Meredith mentioned.

"I have to let her come," Callie realized.

"Are you going to tell her about the surgery," Meredith

"No im going to just tell her mommy was sick now shes better," Callie plastered o a face smile smoothing out the blanket over Arizona as she napped.

"What about your dad, he seemed pretty upset when you wouldn't tell him what happened," Meredith reminded her.

"Ease drop much," Callie mumbled.

"You're the one who put it on speaker," Meredith pointed out.

"I dont know how to tell him," Callie sighed.

"What do you mean," Meredith wondered?

"He already thinks i failed at marriage if i tell him Arizona had tumor since we got married that would mean i failed at being a doctor," Callie explained.

"But youre an orthopedic surgeon first so there's not much you can do. And Arizona never came to you about any of this," Meredith tried reassured her.

"Yea but my dad won't see that, he loves Arizona almost more than me," Callie sighed.

"That cant be true."

"Well it feels like it most of the time," Callie groaned sitting back in the chair.

They let the silence fill the empty void in the room.

"Oh speak of the devil. I should take this," Callie looked down at her phone.

"Ill leave you to it," Meredith got up to leave the room.

The next morning Sofia came rushing through the doors bright and early. They had an overnight plane ride but Sofia was still full of energy as she bounced through the halls Im search of her mom.

"Mommy," Sofia ran in.

"Hola Sofia," Arizona waved.

"Why are you speaking Spanish mommy," Sofia asked?

Ven a darle un abrazo a mami," Arizona opened her arms. (Coem give mommy a hug)

"Okay," Sofia hopped on the bed with the help of Callie.

"Sofia, you have to talk to mommy in Spanish she can't remember English yet. Do you remember the talk we had," Callie asked?

"You said mommy was hurt but now shes better and she can only speak Spanish," Sofia mentioned.

"Yes, and you have to talk to her in Spanish," Callie pointed out.

"¿Cómo está Nueva York, mi ganso?" Arizona asked. (Hows New York goose)

"Fue aburrido pero luego fuimos a Miami a ver al abuelo," Sofia shrugged.(It was boring but gather we went to Miami to see abuelo)

"Eso es súper asombroso. ¿Pudiste nadar en la playa?" Arizona smiled. (That's super awesome. Did you get to swim at the beach)

"Sí, el abuelo vino aquí conmigo. Está en el café, dijo que me traería un poco de pudín de chocolate," Sofia spoke ignoring the original question.( Grandpa came with me. He's in the cafe, he said he'd get me some chocolate pudding)

"¿Tu papá está aquí?" Arizona looked at Callie. (Your dad is here)

"Yes he is," Callie answered.

"Why didnt you tell me," Arizona questioned?

"He insisted on coming and i didnt know how youd take it," Callie responded.

"I cant believe this," Arizona shook her head.

"She really does speak Spanish," Carlos spoke with two pudding cups in her hands.

"She probably wont remember Spanish in a few days dad," Callie explained.

"Arizona ive missed our little talks," Carlos smiled.

Arizona shifted awkwardly. "Im sorry."

"Nonsense, i was just teasing," Carlos "And heres your pudding little miss."

"So how've you been," Arizona asked, trying to be polite?

"Im not the sick one," Carlos laughed.

"You're right," Arizona awkwardly laughed.

"How are you doing," He asked?

"Im getting by I got people to keep me company. And I should be leaving soon," Arizona replied.

"Well that's good," Carlos smiled.

"It's time for the EAP," Amelia entered the room.

"I guess we'll get out of your hair," Callie ushered everyone out.

"Thanks for that," Arizona sighed, laying back on the bed.

"Yeah you won't be relaxing in a minute," Amelia groaned.

"Today we are going around the hall with no help," Amelia told her.

"Day three post op and on crutches. Normally you five days for crutches," Arizona mentioned.

"I don't know what you said so I'm just going to ignore it," Amelia retorted.

"You make sick," Arizona groaned.

"Yeah, yeah just get in the chair so we can go around the hall," Amelia sighed.

She rolled her into the hall then handed her crutches. She watched as Arizona struggled to stand up with the crutches, refusing to ask for help. She made she to not stray to far behind the women in case she falls.

"This is your last day Robbins come on," Amelia "It cant be any harder than day one.

"I would be easier if you would just shut up and let me concentrate ," Arizona groaned.

"Im going to assume you said something nice," Amelia looked to Stephanie shook her head.

"Por qué estás aquí," Arizona asked( why are you here)

"Deberías estar descansando," Callie tried to not (you should be resting)

"No Callie tell me why are you here," Arizona repeated.

"Because you are the mother of my child and you have a tumor something you should've told me about," Callie sighed.

"What like youd turn back around and save me. No you came out of obligation not because you wanted to. You came because im the mother of your child just like you said. And thats the thing i dont want you to worry about me," Arizona fumed.

"Is that why you sent Sofia to New York," Callie wondered?

" No i sent Sofia to New York cuz its the right thing to do and id like to think youd do the same for me," Arizona stated.

"I would," Callie reassured.

"I mean does Penny even know where you are," Arizona wondered?

"I don't think so, i didn't even make it to New York," Callie admitted

"And that must have been like what, three, four nights ago, call her," Arizona started to get upset.

"Save your strength," Callie tried to get her to relax.

"Call her," Arizona repeated.

"I broke up with her," Callie blurted.

"What?"

"Save your strength."

"Why would you do that, I mean I gave you a plane ticket, I allowed you to talk Sofia across the country and you break up with her?"

"Can we talk about this when your better."

"No I want to know now," Arizona demanded.

"It's because i see you in the stands," Callie sighed.

"What?"Arizona questioned what the women meant.

"Around a month before the trial when Sofia came into the E.R.,i asked Bailey when did she introduce tuck to Ben. And well she told me imagine Sofia just score the winning goal at the women's World Cup final. And the whole stadium is chanting her name and its all in slow motion and im up in the standing screaming and crying. And then she asked me who do I want screaming and cheer beside me. And you know I wanted it to be Penny. But every time I closed my eyes to imagine it, it was you who stood beside me. But I need it to be Penny because Penny is easy and Penny didnt hurt and now i know it was a tumor. But back then i didnt know so i walked out and for that I deeply apologize. That is my biggest regret. I stood outside the door waiting for you to come and chase me but you never did so I just left and never looked back," Callie explained.

"What," Arizona asked, extremely confused?

"You spoke in English," Callie shouted?

"When have I not spoke in English," Arizona looked around confused.

"It seems she's getting better," Amelia checked her pupils with her pen light.

"I thought you went to L.A.," Arizona said.

"No I live in Seattle now," Amelia told her and all the other stuff came back.

"Oh, right right," Arizona smiled.

"What year is it," Amelia asked?

"No, I know it's 2015," Arizona stated.

"But you just said I thought you lived in LA and I haven't lived in Los Angeles for 2 years," Amelia sighed.

"No I knew that I just forgot for a second. I don't know what happened. It was like my brain turned off for a second and then when you reminded me everything came back and my brain turned back on," Arizona explained.

"I need some scans for day three post op," Amelia told Edwards.

"No I said remember," Arizona tried to convince her.

"I know these are to show progress we did this day one and day two this is just day three," Amelia explained.

"Oh, okay," Arizona relaxed a bit as they rolled her away.

(A/N: some of y'all might not like that fact that Carlos cares so deeply about Arizona and all that but remember he's a cheater too and he was all like you gotta except her back. And it wasn't Arizona that walked away it was callie and he see marriage as a bond between two people forever. Carlos don't believe in divorce so he's default calzona cuz George is dead. So yeah I just think he would still care about Arizona even more than regularly cuz she got a tumor. (I typed this out how I talk so if it don't make sense that's why) So fight with yo momma about this not me. Also the bolder is meant to be assumed as Spanish I just got to lazy to translate the whole entire chapter.
