Act I - An Awakening
Chapter 1
14 year old Leia Organa could feel the wind rush up against her face. Pushing her brown cloak to the side as the speeders blew across the open field. Mildew was in season this time of year as flowers were in clear bloom. Her hands were firmly around her supervisor's waist. The woman was a bewildering person both seemingly cruel on one hand and kind on the other. Both of which were being escorted by one of Emperor Palpatine's royal red guard members assigned to protect Leia herself. The three of them had made a sudden trip to the very obscure world of Lyluxes which wasn't even recorded in the Imperial database. With only a single port city that had probably at most 10,000 if Leia was being generous. Only about 2 clicks away from them was a peculiar rock formation standing about 50 meters tall that had clearly been shaped by the hands of civilization. It had several large steps that went up towards a float plateau probably for some religious or cultural reason, Leia guessed. "Are we heading for that giant rock thing?"
"That would be correct princess," her instructor Taskmaster Alerka said. Alerka was a human woman around her late 40s to early 50s. Wearing a brown clock herself over her Imperial military uniform most likely. In all of Leia's memory that woman never wore anything other than her uniform. It was at this point when Leia finally felt something odd she couldn't quite describe, but a feeling took over her body. Slowly calling out to her soothing and calm like resting on Lake Astrophe for a warm summer day. Drinking a warm cup of Hija juice, a delicacy from her homeworld, Leia had happy thoughts in her mind. This place called out to her for a reason she did not yet know this energy was so filling. She closed her eyes and simply let Alerka do her job guiding three of them to this mysterious structure.
It took about an hour for the three of them to finally make the entire journey. "Guard the speeders, we shouldn't be long. Leave your sword behind princess, it will do you no good." Leia looked at the woman and her bodyguard who was wearing a brown clock as well, probably over his armor Leia wasn't sure as she had yet to see the man's face. She knew that he was at least an arm and one of the most dangerous soldiers in the entire Empire, probably a spy for the Emperor on top of that. Placing the sword that Leia had been gifted on her very first day at the Imperial academy on top of the speeder. Her bodyguard took watch; Leia's skills had grown considerably very quickly, but till this day she still couldn't figure out why Taskmaster Alerka would not allow her to use a blaster outside shooting practice at school. It annoyed Leia to no end as a good blaster was far more versatile than a sword could ever be. Alerka walked up the stairs to the wall and held up her left hand towards the wall. Suddenly the sounds of creaking metal gears could be heard and out of nowhere as an entrance inside appeared. Something was beckoning Leia inside.
She followed her instincts inside a cold rush of air rushed out of the structure. Leia stepped inside slowly behind her and the entrance disappeared behind her. This place was dark which made it hard to see. From what Leia could make out the room was vast, ruble was everywhere. Murals on the wall had deteriorated from neglect in the background as a symbol clearly old. In the center of the symbol was a straight line with a star in the middle of it surrounded by a pair of wings. The 14 year old searched for any recollection on it, but couldn't. Looking around, Alerka had disappeared without a trace about her whereabouts. Leia turned to find an exit, but none revealed themselves to her. "Great," Leia said. "She disappears. What is wrong with that woman? Where am I?"
With each step a dust crowd was raised into the air and it echoed across the main hall. Leia couldn't tell how big it was, but the main area was of modest size. With several hallways that were blocked off from fallen debris. Leia carefully maneuvered over broken jagged rocks as she moved down the main starways which were made out of some smooth substance. Cracks, shattered tiles, even a few holes lined the entire floor and all Leia could do was rely on her eyesight. She moved past a broken statue that was scattered across the floor. Suddenly out of the silence a beautiful tune could be heard that overtook the entire room. She closed her eyes and listened to it slowly receding before getting louder.
Leia shields her eyes as a bright yellow light appeared out of nowhere and in the door was a long shadow. Of a reptile creature with white colored eyes that was staring at her before it started to chirp again. Beckoning Leia towards it she followed the peculiar creature through the doorway which closed as she entered it.
It was soft and quickly grew with violent shaking that snapped her out of her trance. A man's voice was calling out her name and Leia moved one of her hands to cover her eyes. Sunlight was blaring down from the sky as the sound of a familiar chirping took place. Leia slowly opened her brown eyes to see two people looking directly at her with concern on their faces. She pushed one of their hands away and sat up to look around at the strange place she had no familiarity with. "Leia, are you okay?" Leia looked at one of the two individuals who was looking at her. Was a tall human man with a sun kissed skin complexion. Blue eyes, dirty brown hair with a scar over his left eye he wore a dark gray cloak. On detail Leia did pick up his left arm was completely biomechanical. Both of them folded, "Are you okay? I found you here lying on the Temple Grounds unconscious."
"I-I-I'm fine," Leia said. "Where am I?"
"The Jedi Temple training ground-" the strange man said, but was cut off by the other person standing next to him. Was a human woman shorter than the man. With dirty brown hair, brown eyes wore a white shirt, tight fighting pants with a light brown utility belt that contained a blaster with a matching colored cape. She was beautiful and had a calming charm to her. One that transfixed Leia for reasons she could not quite say why. With a haunting familiarity that Leia just couldn't quite describe. The woman spoke with the voice of an angel, something her mother on Alderaan, one of the softest speakers Leia knew didn't have.
"She's overworking you again isn't she?" The woman asked and Leia just looked at her not sure what she was talking about or how to respond to the women. Clearly frustrated, the woman let out an aggravated, "Leia when you get back from your mission to Naboo I'm going to have a long talk with Mistress Alma about your working schedule. This has got to stop happening when you're only 14 for the sake of the force. You're the most stubborn person I've ever met, even more than your father. Leia I'm going to ask this question again because I worried about you. I already know what you're going to say, but please Leia. As your mother I'm begging you to choose one. Do you want to be a Jedi like your father? Or follow your Mistress and become a Temple Maiden? You cannot do both so please choose one."
"Well," the man said.
"Well?" The woman asked.
"Padme, I know you're worried about your daughter, but if Leia is willing to do the work she can do both. Famously Jedi Master Orlsa Tekko served as the head Mistress of the Temple Maidens. For over 3 decades before her passing it can be done. Not that I know much of what Temple Maidens do." The man said, trying to defend Leia who at this point was about ready to have a fit. None of this made any sense to her. "Leia, you need to do what you want. If you want to become a Jedi and a Temple maiden you must do what you want. Not what your mother wants."
"Anakin!" Padme snapped at the man. "I know it's Leia's design, but I'm worried she won't be able to handle it. You could barely handle yourself while under Sidious manipulation chose one. Now you want to put your daughter under twice that stress are you crazy? She's only 14!" The woman snapped loudly which got Anakin to raise his hands in self defense. The three of them stood out in this peculiar place; it was a calm place, peaceful with white marble tiles. In the center of the arena was a giant tree with golden leaves that was glowing. It filled Leia with a new energy and power she couldn't quite describe, but the world felt more…open to her. Like she had removed a heavy blanket and felt cold air to kiss her bare skin for once. Padme reached out to touch Leia and Leia instinctively took a step back.
"Look crazy I don't know who you are or how you know my name. But I am not your daughter! I'm the crown princess of Alderaan. Bail Organa my father not whoever you are." Leia snapped at them which got both of them looking at one another. "Where even am I?" Anakin was the first one to speak.
"I think the stress from her upcoming mission to Naboo is getting to her," Anakin said and attempted to approach her. Leia took a step back and the man's face frowned with concern. "My name's Anakin Skywalker, I'm your father. This is your mother Padme Amidala. You're a Jedi Padawan to Jedi Master Ooburn Tuulic. Whose about to prepare to take one of the toughest challenges any Jedi faces on the planet of Naboo. Master Yoda has personally picked you himself to partake in this. He believes you're ready for it. I'm hesitant like your mother. I'm just trying to hel-"
"Stay away from me!" Leia shouted as she stumbled back leaving one hand out sending Padme and Anakin to fly backwards. Leia moved back as the man who was claiming to be her fathers stood up. Grabbed a cylinder that was attached to his belt and ignited it which summoned a red blade.
"You shouldn't have done that," the man's voice shifted. Leia stumbled back only to fall over as the entire area changed. With that Leia picked herself up and took off running down the hallway. Not certain of what was going on, only she needed to get away from the man that was coming after her. Leia wasn't sure if she was running at all, but quickly ran into a dead end with no way to run. Turning around a strange gray mist had formed which clouded her vision. Leia looked at her belt as she could feel something evil, something cold. Ruthless riddled with sorrow, guilt and rage. As the sounds of a respirator breathing sound could be heard. In the shadows was a mechanical menace that Leia had been terrified of since the age of 12. Since the first time she had seen him, if you could call it a him. Each breath was repetitive with each footstep as the sound echoed through the strange hallway that Leia was in. Leia looked for a blaster, but only found a strange cylinder similar to the one that was in the hand of the dark menace with it.
Pressing both hands against it the cylinder ignited a blue blade made out of some strange substance. Leia used both hands to grip the hilt of this strange weapon. "What did you find in the Jedi Temple on Naboo? Tell me Maiden Organa now!" The voice was a fusion between Anakin's voice and Vader's voice. It was a terrifying sound as from the shadows she could make out the shadow of Darth Vader. "Or I will destroy your order as I did to your father." The shadow of Vader jumped into the air and Leia screamed as a force suddenly grabbed her. Leia landed on something hard that didn't exist.
"Relax only an illusion it was. A trick of the force," Leia turned around to see something different. She was standing on a small transparent blue circle in what appeared to be the vast void of space. All around her the entire place was very calming and beautiful. In front of her was a strange green creature with pointy ears, green eyes, some shades of gray hair and wore a dirty brown cloak. He was sitting on what appeared to be a log with a stick in his hand. "Waited long I have, to meet you. Princess. Powerful in the Force you are, like your father. Strong you are proud your mother would be. Strong her blood is…grave danger you are. Study the force you must or succumb to the dark side you will. Trust Mistress Alma you must follow her guidance a powerful Jedi you will become."
"Who are you?" Leia asked.
"A friend of your father failed him, I did. Great sorrow I have, fail you I will not. Maiden Organa. Short our time has been cut, be brave young maiden for the enemy fund us he did." With that Yoda lifted up his hand and a bright light filled the entire void. Leia covered her eyes as she was consumed by the light.
Chip, Leia sat up from the ground as the sounds of chirping awoke her. Whatever had just happened Leia couldn't even process it as the ground around her started to shake. Rocks from the ceiling started to fall down as cracks in the ground appeared. Leia walked over to the strange replicate from earlier that sounded like a bird. Its length was about the size of your average human forearm. It had 3 toes which ended with sharp retractable claws, a long tail that was about half its body size. With a purple fan on top of its head that could expand at will. With feathers around its neck and was powerful. Beckoning Leia she followed this strange creature down several hallways every few minutes. The temple would shake violently and increasing more rocks and chunks of debris would fall from the ceiling. As she walked past various rooms following the lizard which appeared to be trying to help her. That's when Leia heard that sound. The sound of something singing that wasn't quite human, but still beautiful. So Leia stopped by another doorway and walked inside.
"What is that?" She followed it into a small room no bigger than a standard military room. Inside the room were stone walls, flooring and ceiling, but what was most curious was in the center of the room was a table. Made out of wood an oddity to the rest of the temple. Approaching it a green glow filled the room Leia stumbled as the entire temple shook. Standing up Leia approached the table to find 3 strange artifacts lying there. In the center of the table was a beautiful object made out of glass like substance with a metal brimmer to it. In the shape of a pentagonal dodecahedron it had a blue hue to it and was easily big as Leia's palms put together. On the two sides of the mysterious object were two identical looking cylinders with a refined steel. The thing was made out of refined metal something one would only see on Alderaan. She picked them up, moved her clock to the side and placed the 3 objects inside a small bag which she was carrying. Whatever these things were, they were artifacts and no point in them being destroyed. That's when she heard the lizard begin to chirp louder this time with a dreary sense of warning.
"I'm coming! I'm coming," Leia said to them. Once securing the three objects in her bag. Leia followed the lizard to another yellow doorway and she stepped through it. Shielding her eyes as Leia had left the temple to see both her bodyguard and Alerka staring at her. "What?" Leia asked right as the temple collapsed. Alerka grabbed Leia swiftly, narrowly avoiding a giant chunk of the temple which was collapsing as Leia spoke. But the strange creature from the temple was nowhere to be seen.
