"We should decorate mommy, since he's a tree and the gifts are always under the tree." Drax told Gamora, Nebula and Mantis which made them unsure. It was Winter and a week after Rocket had went into hibernation so the toddler-Guardians were decorating for the holidays but needed a tree for Santa to put gifts under on Grootmas Eve so Drax figured Groot wouldn't mind if they decorated him for the holidays which the girls didn't think it was a good idea.
"Drax, mommy might flip, if we wrap tinsel around him and hang ornaments on him, you might end up on the Naughty List." Mantis said worriedly seeing Nebula agreeing. "Rocket would agree with me on this, if he was here you know." Drax replied to her which made her annoyed by that.
"What's going on here, why're you talking about wrapping tinsel around me." they heard Groot asking.
"Drax wants to make you our Grootmas tree, but we told him it was a bad idea, mommy." Mantis told Groot making the treelike being understand finding it sweet explaining that he could find them a tree to decorate. "Thanks mommy, as Drax's idea would've gotten him in trouble you know." Nebula told Groot.
She was thinking about Rocket knowing if he was here, he'd be helping them decorate and fibd Drax's idea hilarious frowning until Mantis asked if she was alright seeing her nodding, knowing their friend was okay following the others to where Groot had fouhd the tree, making them excited grabbing their decorations they'd made, having fun making Groot chuckle seeing them excitable that cacao pods were growing on him. "That means hot cocoa, right." Gamora said to him.
"Yep and Nebula looks like she could use some, she seems down." Groot told them. "I'm fine mommy, nothing to worry about." Nebula said to him plus she'd made an ornament for Rocket to put on their tree which made her sniffle a lil hiding it from Groot and her sibs who were singing holiday songs but she didn't feel like singing going to her part of their room saying they could have hot cocoa without her.
"I think Nebula needs some alone-time." Mantis said seeing Gamora agree as they and Drax went to have hot cocoa but Mantis sensed why Nebula was sad, only she didn't want to say why.
That evening while she saw her sibs asleep, Nebula was still lying awake thinking about Rocket plus she'd added more snacks into his pot which was helping her be distracted besides Grootmas imagining how happybthe male-kit would he when he woke up in Spring and saw she'd added to his pot, which was helping her get sleepy going to herbed. She then lay on her side tucking herself in falling asleep justvas the sun roseand her sibs were awake but she nedded more sleep sluggishly getting out of bed which Gamora and Mantis noticed but not Drax. He mentioning she missed Rocket started a fight with her astounding Groot pulling Nebula off Drax. "He started it." she said yawning.
"I think you need more sleep, Nebula but we'll talk to Drax." Groot told her as they were having breakfast having oatmeal with raisins which was delicious and perfectfor Winter mornings.
