"Buffy now knows this vampire calling himself Angel, is a vampire." Xander announced to the group. "And no, there appears to be no plans to dust him."

"How did she figure it out?" Mary Levinson, Johnathan's mother asked.

"A vampire attacked Buffy's mother, Joyce. All though, she doesn't know that's what happened. She thinks she fell and got cut. At first, Buffy thought it was this Angel, because she'd invited him in her house. Turns out, it was a vampire that pretended she was there to tutor Buffy and Joyce invited her in herself."

"Okay, but how did she find out Angel was a vampire?" Tony asked.

"She went after Angel. He gave her a sob story about having been cursed with the return of his human soul a century ago by gypsies."

"Is that even possible?!" Madelyn exclaimed.

"Yes." Jessica said grimly. "But it would require pulling the soul from either the after life, i.e. Heaven or from its most recent reincarnation. And it does nothing more them imprison the demon. The soul suffers from being exposed to a demon."

"He says he's cursed to feel guilty for his crimes."

"They're not his crimes." Jessica said. "They're the demon's and the demon doesn't feel guilt or remorse, it's not capable of it. The soul's suffering for nothing."

"Why isn't she dusting him? She doesn't even know if he's telling the truth." Johnathan asked.

"Because Darla, that's the vampire that attacked Buffy's mother, went after Buffy and Angel dusted her. She thinks it proves he's telling the truth."

"It proves nothing more then she's a gullible fool!" Charles exclaimed. "What are they doing to verify his claims?"

"Nothing, apparently I'm a jealous idiot for even suggesting it. I must have done too good a job of pretending interest and acting jealous."

"No, you didn't. You're were more whiny and petulant, then jealous." Cordelia said.

"Thanks, I think."

"At the very least, it should be sending up red flags for the Watcher." Jessica said. "Curses have out clauses, even Disney knows that. The Watcher certainly should."

"Giles did do a little investigating of Angel, himself. What he found is just reinforcing Buffy's belief in Angel. The description matches a very vicious vampire named Angelus. He disappeared from the Watchers Chronicles a century ago, indicating he hasn't been preying on humans."

"Give me the description, I'll investigate him." Joshua Levinson said.

"Tall, maybe six three, good-looking according to the girls, tattoo on his right shoulder blade of a bird, went by Angelus, sires name, Darla."

"That gives me enough to go on." Joshua said. "I'll find what there is to find."

"In the meantime, you guys have classes tomorrow. Keep us up to date on anything that happens." Charles said.

What happened is that Willow started cyber dating what turned out to be a demon.

"Moloch the Corrupter? That's not a demon I've heard of." Tony said. "And we've researched alot of demons."

"Apparently he was bound into a book by the Catholic Church in the middle ages." Xander said. "Willow accidentally scanned him into the internet. Which is why he fixated on her. She freed him, accidentally, but still. And the computer teacher, Jenny Calendar, turned out to be a technopagan and exorcised him from the web. He'd built himself a robot body and we had to destroy it when he was bound to it by the exorcism."

"Damn, first gremlins and now demons. Technology has its uses, but it's also got its problems." Charles muttered.

"Well I found out something about Angelus. He was part of a group known as the Whirlwind. Darla, Angelus, a seer named Drusilla, that he'd apparently driven mad as a human before turning her and Spike, a.k.a. William the Bloody, Angelus is also known as the Scourge of Europe. His preference was young teenage girls. Buffy would be exactly what he'd be interested in. He liked to play games with his food before going for the kill."

Silence greeted Joshua's report.

"The fact that neither the Watcher nor the Slayer seems remotely concerned about this Angel worries me considerably." Madelyn said. "The suggestion that they may have been whammied seems more and more likely. What can we do about it?"

"We start with finding out where he lives and keep an eye on him ourselves." Charles said. "If he really does have a soul and really is trying to help, then we need to give him the opportunity to do that. But at the first sign of a problem, we should dust him ourselves."

"I don't know." Tony said. "I agree with the finding out where he lives, but I think we should be safe and just dust him."

"And if it turns out that he's whammied the Watcher and the Slayer, then dusting him might make it difficult to remove the whammy." Jessica said. "Some end with the death of the castor, but not all. We need proof before we act."

"Alright. I'll follow him and find out where he's living." Tony said.

"Good. Everyone keep a careful eye out. Darla may be dust, but the other members of Angelus' old gang may still be out there. And you don't earn yourself a reputation if you're not good at what you do. And the Hellmouth being what it is, they might just show up at some point."
