Happy belated new years. I'm back with another chapter. Looks like I'm on a roll with these chapters although it's mainly short chapters but a chapter nonetheless. I still need to do an Omake for QTQ but that means I've updated all my stories in one month or in a few weeks. I have an idea for my Loud House Omake still need to write it. Hopefully, I can get it done before next week. Technically it's not an Omake but more a preview or a practice write for future scenes for either QTQ or LLB. I'll leave the poll up for a while longer or I pick ones that got votes or the highest one
Also a quick heads-up. This chapter is quite short so it'll be an easy read and so I can hurry up with my chapters. Get it? Got it? Great
Now the reviews
hkorilakkuma: The show popped up on my Youtube/Twitter feed one day and I get decided to do a story. Nothing insane, just a story or plot that could've been in the show if it wasn't canceled. Descriptive writing takes a lot out of a writer especially action scenes
Nightwingassassin & P14ZY: Glad you love it and hope you enjoy this chapter.
Randy parked his bike near the school's entrance. His enhanced senses scoped for anything out of the ordinary. It's unusually average this morning. Randy's features sharpened with a sharp nasal inhale. Hm. No putrid stank gas from the Sorercer, mutating a grief-stricken person into a monster enabling a savage rampage. Then he shows up and saves the day. Wait. Something foul whiffed past his nose. False alarm. That was the leftover fried rice he had for breakfast. Damn, mom went heavy on the garlic and onions. His smile widened at the aroma premating from the cafeteria. Finally, the lunch lady makes something edible for humans to eat again for lunch. For breakfast, the classic and always reliable bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns. Also, a rainbow of fruit juices and fragrant coffee. Howard's probably munching down his fill right now. Oh, pasta. Did the school get a budget increase because of the Stank events? Hey, a good meal can calm anyone down and makes them happy. Or did McFist give the school a HEFTY donation? Wait a minute… MCFIST!
Randy's eyes sharpened before closing them and eased his breathing to focus on any metallic sounds in the surrounding areas. His ears caught an urban cacophony of beeping cars, screeching bus brakes, and audible texting of his schoolmates inside. Wow, that's a lot of texting from the hallways and cafeteria. Randy shrugged. It's before the first bell, so they have time. The ninja waited a few more seconds, his hand twitching like a Western duelist at noon, ready to draw weapons. Viceroy's steely animal creations could pop up at any more. His sapphire eyes scanned the school grounds for their metallic shine hidden in the foliage. Insects and small animals did their routines in the verdant leaves or solid earthy wood. Maybe they're going for an aerial assault? Randy glanced up, narrowingly avoiding the sun's harsh illumination across the clear blue sky. All he saw was a brilliant stinging white from the last time the sun blinded him. Not going through that shit again. Nothing circling the sky. No slight earthquakes under his feet. His eyes widened at the situation. Holy shit… does he have a free day today?
"Oh, this is so bruce," Randy whispered, locking up his bike. He tugged on it to test its stability—finally, an easy day for once. The Nomicon blinked. "Great," He grumbled, wondering what the book would declare.
"Be wary of the calm before the storm," Sketch images of sailors relaxing on a boat before a whirling storm knock them overboard and sinks their ship.
Randy rolled his eyes at the message. "Fine, I'll keep watching for anything weird," He raised his hands in surrender, keeping his luck anything could happen this morning. More Japanese-style sketches nodded in approval. The dance is this week. It's the perfect time for broken hearts. Ideal for the Sorcerer and his foul schemes. Speaking of foul. Randy quickly whiffed his breath. "Mhm," He contemplated on the smell. It wasn't horrible, but someone can probably smell it if they can get close enough. Although that's likely his enhanced nose detecting the garlic scent. Theresa's gorgeous smile flooded his mind before it winced at the smell. Yeah, he brushed his teeth but could never be too sure. Wait, did he have a mint? Randy swiftly padded his body. "No," He frowned with a pout. Randy made his way to the school. Hopefully, he can find a vending machine before class. At least McFist is giving him a break. No parent wants to ruin their child's high school dance.
"What the juice?" Randy muttered at the sight of his schoolmates upon entering the hallway. His face was screwed with confusion as they were at least the guys, and a portion of the girls was glued to their phone screens and scrolling up to refresh the page for something. Randy continued to amble throughout the halls as more schoolmates were on their phones awaiting the big announcement. He checked his smartphone. Did the school send a message via the newsletter? No new school notifications. So it wasn't that, but what else? His phone returned to his pocket when he found a vending machine and scanned the contents.
"Yo, Cunningham," Howard greeted, strolling from the other side of the corridor. The ninja sniffed his friend's aroma. He just left the cafeteria, enjoying the updated breakfast menu. Howard's meal consists of eggs with salt and pepper, hickory smoked bacon, sweet pancakes doused in syrup, and two cans of orange juice.
"Sup, Howard," Randy smiled as he paid for his breath mints. The machine whirred as the gum bar was pushed and fell into the holding. Great, it didn't get stuck. Both exchanged a handshake. Randy retrieved his gum before heading to their lockers. "So…what's with the phones?" He asked, opening the packing and slipping a light blue gummy rectangle in his mouth, unleashing a minty snowstorm on his taste buds. It's like everyone is waiting for a significant celebrity update.
Howard groaned, dragging his hand down his face. "Heidi is making her announcement on who won that speed-dating shit for the dance," Randy arched his brow as he chewed. Already? That was quick, as it's only been a day. Whatever he got his date. "Imagine if you won," Howard snickered at the absurdity, nudging Randy with his elbow. Both laughed.
Oh boy, Howard … you probably shouldn't have said that.
Heidi checked herself into the camera. It wasn't recording and thus can afford the haughtiness. You can never look too good for the camera. She spent extra time getting for this day. Her orange hair and creamy skin were brilliant and vibrant in the studio lighting.
Thank you rigid hair and skincare routine. Her father gave her some fancy tropical scent products as a gift. She applied minimal makeup, focusing on the gloss of pouty lips. A little something to entice the winner. She wore an eye-catching, form-fitting scarlet shirt and hip-hugging skinny jeans to show off her figure. She is more skinny but more developed compared to some of her peers.
She checked her clock. "It's almost time," Heidi's eyes widened with a smirk. One last check-up.
And start.
"Good morning, Norrisvile high; it's your girl, Heidi, with the regular Gossip Report," The students waited anxiously as the web show started. They wanted to know who won! Several students rolled their eyes at the show. They already had their date, so who cares. However, that didn't stop the majority of students from tuning in. People are curious about that sort of thing. It's the closest they have to a local celebrity besides the Ninja. "I spent all night conducting a vetting process on my prince charming," Howard gagged at his sister's flirtatious tone. She didn't spend all night searching through guys. Maybe a few hours tops. "And I found him," Her voice became meek with rosy cheeks, evading eye contact with the camera. Students muttered at the tone shift. She cleared her throat. "I didn't expect it to be him, but I checked the qualifications, and…he met them," They waited during the pregnant pause for the reveal. "The winner is…Randy Cunningham," His picture was broadcasted on screen for the entire school to witness. They gawked at the shell-shocked winner. Some groaned, complained, passed money to each other, and spit out their drinks. How did he win?! Others refreshed the page waiting for the punchline but no. It's legit. Randy Cunningham won fair and square. "I'll see you soon," She blew a kiss before signing out.
"Randy…my brother in christ, blood still fresh on the streets," Howard grumbled at the news. "WHAT THE JUICE, MY DUDE?!" He exploded, grabbing and shaking his best friend's shoulders. What did he do or say to her that made her catch feelings?!
"Why are you getting mad at me for?! You're the one who said, 'Imagine if you won," Randy defended himself before air-quoting his friend. Howard kept his mouth shut. He did jinx it. "Besides, I'm not interested in Heidi that way, and I, um," He continued before scoping the area and whispering something to the chubby boy whose eyes expanded at the information.
"Nice," Howard smiled as they exchanged a fist bump. Finally, it's about time. He gave a thumbs-up to him and Thresa. Both blushed at the action but were supportive of the action.
"I better get out of here before she-" Randy said before attempting to escape.
"Oh, Randy~" Heidi's sing-song voice interrupted him. Howard face-palmed at her appearance, knowing that it won't end well.
"Fuck," Randy muttered at her smiling and approaching form. He admits that she looks amazing. Come on, Nomicon, give him something to work with. "Hey, Heidi," The Nomicon provided images, telling him to tell her the truth simply. Great. "So about this thing," He started, vaguely gesturing to this situation.
"Don't worry about it since I know it's a shock for you to be this lucky," Heidi bragged with a wide smirk. Of course, he'll be surprised. Randy just won a date with his best friend's hot older sister.
"Um, no, it's not that," Randy corrected, wondering how to proceed with this situation. He exhaled through his nose. It's better to be straightforward. "I already have a date to the dance," He confessed.
She still grinned before widening her eyes and tilting her head."Huh?" Heidi said dully with a blank sheet expression after a quick second. Some people snickered at her gobsmacked expression. It's about time someone smacked her off her pedestal.
"I have a date to the dance," Randy repeated. "It'll be disrespectful to her if I just dropped her like that," He scratched the back of his head, avoiding eye contact. "Plus, yesterday was the only time you called me by name, which kinda killed what non-platonic," Randy explained. That can kill any potential relationship, but if it's a nickname, then that changes things. "Although Howard would be somewhat okay with me being his brother-in-law,"
"Don't push your luck," Howard retorted, crossing his arms and pointing at him. Although the ginger was open to the idea but not in this context.
"So maybe another time," Randy muttered with an uneasy feeling clawing up his spine. "I'll…just go, and I know that you can easily find another date," He stepped away as her eyes followed him down the hallway.
"Ah…the sweet smell of despair and heartbreak," The Sorceress purred before unleashing a thunderous cackle in her domain. She jubilantly recalls the soul-crushing sorrow of millions of unrequited love or romantic betrayal throughout the centuries. The boring ones took it in stride and moved on with their lives. Ugh. Her favorites were brutal crimes of bloody passion. Those were delicious meals. "Can you smell it too, my dear?" She asked, hoping that her counterpart could hear her.
"I do," A slimy voice echoed in the shadowlands. She broke into a gleeful crooked beam at the sound of his voice. It's him. Her eternal beloved."Allow me to help you, my love," She nodded. A pink, cyan, and blue storm occupied the lands before skyrocketing to the top, slipping into their victim's nose.
Howard spent several moments attempting to break his older sister out of this shell-shocked trance. He frowned at his failed attempts."Heidi. Heidi. HEIDI!" Howard produced a thunderous clap mere centimeters from her face. His hands stung from the impact. The light returned to her eyes. Howard could've sworn that her pupils had a digital design. She blinked and shook her head. That was weird. What was that smell?
He approached his sister gently. "Hey, Heidi, are ok-oh crap!" Howard consoled before her eyes filled with technological rage. She snarled, grabbing Howard by the collar and slamming his back into lockers. Damn, Bash would be so proud and slightly terrified.
"Who is she?" Heidi fumed in a low tone. Her eyes were dull with wrath. His heart raced at the disturbingly calm rage in Heidi.
"When the juice did you get so strong?" Howard grunted, attempting to her off him. He knew that he was a bit of a hefty boy. His sister is a typical material girl, but now she's holding him against the wall with his feet dangling off the ground like a clearance sale dress.
"Answer…my…question," Heidi ordered, tightening her hold on him.
"He literally asked her yesterday before you did that speed date crap," Howard divulged, attempting to appease her. Seriously what the juice is wrong with her? "Randy told me that she said yes sometime after lunch,"
"You still didn't answer my question," Heidi raised him higher. "Who…is she?" She repeated
"Ask him yourself, Ms. Reporter," Howard glared. He ain't no snitch. Seriously what is going on with her? His heart accelerated for a moment. Oh no. Did she get Stank? But she didn't transform or anything! Shit, it must be a new type of gas or something. She dropped him and marched to find her target. Howard coughed and straightened his collar, aware that something would happen at the dance or to Heidi or Randy.
Where is he? No other thoughts surged in her focused mind. Bumping through her schoolmates with a blank expression and open hands. Others parted away as their arm and neck hairs arose. Some even yelped upon touching their locker handles when a jolt of static bit their fingers as Heidi stepped past them. She stopped. There he was at his locker. They have a few minutes until their first class.
Randy scanned his schedule for the day and organized his bag. The Nomicon flashed rapidly, warning him of incoming danger. He glanced at the book. It's still glowing. Something was not right as it had never done this before. Probably not for him. This book is around 900 years old, and he only had almost a year of ownership. There are a lot of features that he and the hundreds of ninjas were likely ignorant about. What is it this time? Some proverb or hopefully a new skill.
"There's no shame in escaping an unprepared battle. Live to fight another day to reclaim honor and victory," An unexpected foe ambushed a figure. The figure struggled before fleeing and returned to defeat the enemy. Randy scratched his head at the message. Run away and beat them another day. Okay…why was he given this tooltip? A cold sweat cascaded down his body, shocking his nervous system. Primal senses deep within his brain alerted him of the approaching danger.
He stared at his shaking hand. "What the hell?" Randy whispered, touching his accelerating heart and thundering in his chest. He swiftly activated his enhanced senses to sonar for the threat. Yet none of the usual threats popped up, just like earlier. All his instincts roared at him to RUN. His nose picked up sweet-smelling electricity behind him. Heidi?! He slowly turned to face her. Something wasn't right. Her vibrant orange cracked with electricity, hair strands standing like soldiers awaiting their dire orders. Her cerulean blue eyes were lifeless and metallic. She tilted her head loosely to the side with an emotionless expression, her body upright and taut, ready to pounce on him.
Randy gulped, sweat sliding down his features as Heidi just stood there … MENACINGLY. You know. When you fought countless dangerous foes over an extended period. Few things scare you. Randy prepared his legs to escape. She motioned her legs as well. An irate and determined woman is one of them. The two engaged in a staredown before Randy jetted down the hallway, leaving Heidi alone.
"Chase after your prey. Claim him. He's yours, and yours alone," A pair of voices echoed in her memory. "GO NOW!" She nodded, chasing after Randy.
Randy Cunningham will be hers whether he likes it or not.
Damn Randy has his work cut out for him. This chapter was originally going to be longer but I decided against it because of time issues. I still think this was a nice quick chapter. Now I can focus on my preview/Omake chapter for QTQ. So hold tight for that one.
