The bright morning sun broke through the blinds in dorm 701. Everything was silent, minus all the snoring. Sound sleepers all around. The peace was short-lived as a distinct sound of hurling and vomiting could be heard from the dorm bathroom. Legoshi opened his eyes, alerted by the sound. He moved the curtains in front of his bed slightly to see what was going on. He could see Durham throwing up in the toilet. Legoshi sighed and turned around, taking out his phone and checking the time. 9 A.M. He started scrolling social media for a bit, trying to ignore the sound of wheezing from the bathroom. When all of a sudden he heard a loud snorting sound, followed by coughing. Except it wasn't coming from the bathroom, it was coming from the bunk above him. Legoshi's ears perked up. He got up from bed and looked at the top bunk. He saw Keanu sitting on the top bunk, stretching.
-"Keanu!?" Legoshi called out, confused. Keanu looked down at Legoshi.
-"What's up Legoshi?" Keanu greeted. He jumped from the top bunk down to the floor and started getting dressed. Legoshi just looked at him.
-"What are you doing here?" Legoshi asked, the situation still being completely unclear to him.
-"I uhh...Yeah yeah we came from a party yesterday, Durham. And I. Yeah." Keanu spoke in a jittery fashion.
-"Ugh... Yeah..." Durham wheezed from the bathroom. Legoshi glanced over at Durham, and then back at Keanu.
-"Okay?" Legoshi muttered.
-"So what are you gonna do today?" Keanu asked.
-"Well I was going to just be in bed all day." Legoshi answered.
-"Nah you ain't. Go on, get dressed." Keanu bossed around, still dressing.
-"What? Why?" Legoshi refused.
-"We're going to get my car and I sure as shit ain't walking five kilometers on my own." Keanu explained.
-"Ugh just take Durham with you!" Legoshi groaned. He then looked over to the bathroom to see Durham sleeping on the floor. He looked back at Keanu and sighed. "Fine, give me ten minutes."
The two walked Cherryton's busy streets. The sound of bursting traffic was somehow deafened by the immense silence between them. Finally, seeing as he was uncomfortable enough, Legoshi decided to ask a simple question.
-"So why did you help me save Haru?" Legoshi asked. Keanu was silent for a bit.
-"I don't know." Keanu answered.
-"Really?" Legoshi asked, puzzled.
-"Well it's weird ain't it? We almost died fightin' with one another, and yet I don't know your favorite food, birthday,hobbies..." Keanu pointed out. Legoshi thought about it for a second.
-"Well... We didn't really meet under very normal circumstances did we?" Legoshi responded.
-"Ah what's normal nowadays anyway? So what if I fucked a girl which you then tried to eat and then confessed to me resulting in me almost stabbing you cause I thought you finally did eat her but you fell in love with her, but then she got kidnapped so you and I both risked life and limb to save her from a mob organization of 30 or so lions which we certainly killed more than half and then after seeing how short and fragile life is you finally manned up enough to confess liking her one night while overseeing the city." Keanu blurted out.
-"Huh...Yeah I guess that covers it. Wait did you say you almost stabbed me!?" Legoshi cried out.
-"Semantics. How are you and Haru doing anyway?" Keanu changed the subject.
-"Well... She's visiting family, so we're mainly texting. It's weird... We mostly talk about normal day to day stuff. I guess neither one of us wants to open up the whole kidnapping ordeal." Legoshi explained. Keanu nodded and lit up a cigarette.
-"Yeah nobody wants to open up that can of worms. You need to understand that women are weird creatures, they aren't gonna tell you exactly what's wrong and what's on their mind, that's a guessing game for you." Keanu elaborated.
-"Ugh, I don't know anything about this dating stuff, are we even dating?" Legoshi thought out loud.
-"I didn't know nothin' either with my first girlfriend. You pick that stuff up over time, it can't be taught." Keanu comforted.
-"Wait, you had a girlfriend?" Legoshi asked.
-"Guess you could say that...We didn't ever really make it official. Don't even know if she loved me or hell if I loved her for that matter. But the time we had was beautiful, and you learn that cherishing those moments, that's all that matters." Keanu told him. Legoshi looked down for a bit, thinking.
-"So, what happened?" Legoshi pressed on.
-"I was a fool, that's what happened. She matured, I didn't. I was weighing her down anyway..." Keanu reminisced.
-"Well, I don't think you're a fool Keanu." Legoshi comforted.
-"Yeah give it some time, you'll change your mind." Keanu laughed. Legoshi chuckled.
-"So are you gonna tell me how you know Gouhin now?" Legoshi asked.
-"You first, son." Keanu replied.
-"Well, that night when you, me,Aoba, Bill and others went to get some food, went to a bar and saw a movie, we also stopped at the black market after you left. Bill actually wanted to eat some old guy's finger... I was so disgusted with all of them I ran away... I collapsed in a back alley and I woke up in Gouhin's clinic in chains, being interrogated. Eventually he gave me some rabbit porn and explained predatory instincts to me. Then you both showed up to help me fight the Shishigumi." Legoshi retold.
-"Huh, ain't that something." Keanu chuckled.
-"Okay, your turn." Legoshi pointed out.
-"Gouhin was a... Family friend. I was maybe 10 years old, and got real sick one night. Had a fever, was throwing up, the works. And Arak- my uncle and my cousin carried me to the car and drove me to Gouhin's clinic. He was still a regular doctor at the time, not specializing in recovering predators. And well, he checked on me. Turns out I had a real bad case of the flu. He gave me some medicine and put me in a bed. My cousin and uncle wanted to stay the entire night but Gouhin told them I'm in good hands. Anyways, he looked after me for three whole days till I was feeling better. I haven't yet met a doctor who's as caring or effective as him." Keanu told Legoshi.
-"Huh, that's a great story!" Legoshi exclaimed. "I'm glad I met Gouhin now. I doubt anyone else could help me with what I'm feeling."
-"Well if you do need anything more I'll give you the number to my therapist. He's fucking awesome at listening." Keanu offered.
-"You have a therapist?" Legoshi asked, surprised.
-"You sound surprised. You ever see how I act? It's a miracle I'm not locked up." Keanu chuckled. Legoshi laughed nervously.
They walked a short bit more through the black market till they got to Gouhin's clinic. They climbed the stairs and stood in front of his door. Legoshi reached his hand out and knocked.
