NOTES
Heya. Bit of a smaller chapter this time around, but more importantly:
The main reason I wanted to include a notes section this time around is to let you know that I made an alternate way of seeing the art I was talking about in the previous chapter. All the details are in last chapter's notes (which were updated), so if you weren't able to see it the first time, you can check it out.
Anyway, enjoy!
Bread
If you told the me that was spending his entire life hiding away in a room bunkering himself from horrible animatronic monsters that one day I'd find myself wandering through a supermarket heavily debating which brand of bread to commit myself too... I probably wouldn't do much. Wouldn't believe you though, that's for sure.
This one. This one looks interesting.
Can't believe I was so certain I'd die by the end of it all. I'd miss out on so many things like getting to try the world famous bread by the all-too-generous:
...
I don't know how to pronounce this brand.
Perhaps a different loaf would be better.
...

Oh boy. A message.
Took my Faz-Watch home with me, deliberately this time. Figured it would be a good idea to have 'some' way of keeping in touch with the place in case an emergency.. Not that I expect one to happen. That place has so many security features it's practically a fortress.

Roxanne: Are you coming back or what?
Michael: Eventually, why?
Roxanne: You work here.
Michael: Don't think I could get over there even if I tried. Roads are too terrible.
Michael: 'You' were the one who told me I had these days off, why are you surprised?
Roxanne: 'Cause you weren't supposed to come on Christmas either, dumbass. Was that a one time deal?
Michael: I guess so. Suppose you'll have to live without me until the roads clear.
Roxanne: I'm bored.
Michael: And 'I'm' buying bread, talk to you later.
-.-.-.-.-.-
...
- Vvrr -
Can't say that's terribly surprising.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Roxanne: The hell do you mean you're buying bread?
Michael: ..It means I'm buying bread?
Roxanne: At the store?
Michael: Such is the standard.
Roxanne: Roads not terrible enough to go shopping?
Michael: Sorry, didn't drive here. There's a lot of snow but it warmed up quite a bit. Walked.
Roxanne: Needed bread so damn bad you walked through the snow?
Michael: Went to the store for a lot of things. Bread is just what I'm looking at right this very moment.
Roxanne: Are you still actively choosing bread?
Michael: Mhm.
Roxanne: Do they taste any different?
Michael: Probably not.
Roxanne: What's taking you so long, then?
Michael: You.
Roxanne: Screw you too, then.
Michael: Mhm.
-.-.-.-.-.-
She's probably right. Just choose a bread, it can't possibly matter all that much.
..That one. White bread, 'cause I'm feelin' unhealthy. Living life on the edge.
Alright, gotta go find what I came here for.
Not really sure where to find frames.. Probably not here in the food area. Suppose I'll go that way-

Jesus Christ
-.-.-.-.-.-
Roxanne: Did you find it?
Michael: Do you need something?
Roxanne: No, why?
Michael: Because I can't put my watch down for more than twelve seconds before it vibrates my entire arm again.
Roxanne: Mike
Roxanne: Mike
Roxanne: Mike
Roxanne: Mike
Roxanne: Mike
Michael: Die

I don't friggen know the dimensions of this drawing.. Not even the endo's knew the dimensions. They just drew something.
Kinda cute how arts-and-crafty the endoskeletons are for looking as soulless and indifferent as they do. Guess they need 'something' to do all the way down there, though I don't think they're restricted from exploring the Pizzaplex during the night.. I don't know, maybe they all just like to stick together.
Maybe there's a tape measure around here. I can't be the only one who's ever had this problem while looking for a frame.
...
Mm.. Maybe they're somewhere else. Hopefully not far, I don't want to walk all the way back to the food area if I don't absolutely have to.
...
Food.. Oh, damn it! Coulda asked Chica what she wanted while I was-..! Sigh..
Welp, it's starting to look like I'm gonna have to head back over there anyway.. Guess I can contact Chica while I'm on my way.

Michael: Chica?
-.-.-.-.-
To be honest, I only meant to text Chica. Guess what I did added her to the active chat I was in instead.. Whoops.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Roxanne: Finally unblock me?
Michael: Just for a sec. Need to ask Chica something.
Roxanne: What's that?
Michael: You're really 'that' bored, huh?
Roxanne: It's boring here! There aren't any kids to play with!
Chica: Hello?
Michael: Hey Chica. Did you open the gift?
...
...
-.-.-.-.-.-
Forgot Chica sometimes has trouble with the texting system..
-.-.-.-.-.-
...
Chica: What gift?
Michael: Was there not a gift outside your door?
Chica: Ooooh! That one! That was you!?
Michael: Yeah, my name was on the wrapper.
Chica: Thaaaank youuu! Thank you so much! No one's ever gotten me a present before!
Michael: Why couldn't you be as happy with your gift as Chica was, Rox?
Roxanne: I was content being left out of this conversation.
Roxanne: Also, I didn't 'ask' for anything, jerk.
Michael: Fine, see if you get anything next year then.
-.-.-.-.-.-
I'm absolutely getting her something next year.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Chica: Don't be mean!
Chica: Be nice, Rox! Mike got that thing just for you!
Roxanne: You didn't know Mike got me 'anything' until ten seconds ago.
Roxanne: Don't call me 'Rox', either.
Chica: Mike calls you Rox!
Roxanne: 'Mike' is gonna die by my hands.
Michael: Did you read the thing that came with the present, Chica?
Chica: The one that said you'd buy me stuff?
Michael: Yeah. I'm at the store right now, is there anything you've thought up?
...
Michael: It's no big deal if you haven't. I know it hasn't been long.
Chica: Sorryyyy.. I was gonna ask Trudge what he wants to eat first.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Trudge...
I still need to talk to him.. Or maybe I can just talk to Chica and have her relay what I say to Trudge.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Michael: Rox.
Roxanne: What.
Michael: I'll be right back, need to talk to Chica alone for a moment.
Roxanne: What?
Michael: Just for a sec.
Roxanne: Alone with Chica?
Roxanne: Why alone with-?

Michael: Hey Chica, needa talk to you about something real quick.
Chica: Uhm.. Okay..!
Michael: Alright so listen..
-.-.-.-.-.-
Mm.. I don't want to make it sound like she's in trouble, but it's kinda hard to confront her without sounding that way.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Michael: I was at the Pizzaplex during Christmas, you could probably tell by the gift at your door.
Chica: Mhm?
Michael: Alright, getting straight to the point..:
Michael: I'm not opposed to you and Trudge leaving the Pizzaplex from time to time. It always seemed a little boring that you and your friends were expected to spend just about every second of your life in that facility. But next time, all I ask is that you tell someone.
...
...
Michael: Just a safety precaution, nothing else. I just want 'somebody' in the Pizzaplex to know that you're alright in case someone figures out you're not in the building. If people found out you were gone, and no one knew where you went, it might cause everyone to go into a collective panic.
Michael: I'll keep it a secret, of course. If you need, I can even help you find a time and method to leave. Just let someone know, alright?
...
Chica: Trudge said you'd be mad..
Michael: I'm not.
Michael: You did get a little lucky, though. If anyone beside me had found out you left, they might have reacted differently.
Chica: But I didn't do anything bad! Both of us were okay!
Michael: I know, but the others might be a little more inclined to 'do their job', even if you didn't go do anything bad.
Chica: Mike, pleeease don't tell! I-I don't know what Cooper would do if he saw! He'd try to reprogram me to make me not leave anymore!
Michael: Cooper wouldn't do that. He know's you guys aren't just robots too; but he still might get a little upset. I'm not going to tell anyone what happened, just needed to make sure you were okay.
Chica: He might! H-He tried doing it to Roxy, remember?
-.-.-.-.-.-.-
...
...
He did, didn't he..
My gaze lifts above my watch as I get lost in thought.
That's.. So weird.. The last person I'd expect to allow such a thing would be Cooper. I didn't question it back then, but that's because I hardly had any interest in the animatronics. I was much more inclined to believe that they were just smarter-than-usual robots..
But I know differently know.. And more importantly, I 'know' Cooper knows this as well. The day crew don't interact with the animatronics very much, but even they are starting to understand they're not something to just toy around with like machines.
...
If things had gone differently that day, would Cooper really have sent Roxanne off for reprogramming? Is that even possible?
How could it be? Cooper himself told me that just about all the programming currently being used by the animatronics is my father's work, and by extension absolutely unintelligible to anyone that isn't an unrivaled genius in the field. If Roxy was decided to get reprogrammed, where would she have been sent?
...I really have no idea. None of it makes any sense.. The only outcome that seems feasible is the one that occurred, where the programming was collectively decided against.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-
...
Michael: Cooper wouldn't. It doesn't make any sense for him too.
Chica: But..!
Michael: You should know by now that nobody would let it happen anyway. I wouldn't, Trudge wouldn't, none of the other animatronics would either.
Michael: But seriously, trust me. Cooper wouldn't do something so drastic to you, for any reason.
...
Chica: He scares me sometimes.
Michael: ..Cooper? Really?
Chica: I can never tell what he's thinking.. I'm supposed to be good at that, too! Somethin' about him being so important 'and' not bein' able to tell what he's thinking is a little scary.
Michael: Cooper's unpredictable, yeah, but I believe he's a good person. I'm not really sure what happened with Roxanne's incident, but there has to be an explanation.
Michael: You don't need to worry about being safe, Chica. No one would let anything bad happen to you, especially that little gremlin you keep by your side.
Chica: Trudge isn't a gremlin! He's super nice!
Michael: Ha, I know. He bought me a whole tire when my car had a flat once. I only told him to get me a spare.
-.-.-.-.-.-
I figured it was a good idea to get the conversation off of Cooper. Have to make sure Chica knows no one's gonna actually hurt her for doing something stupid. Maybe he would have been just the slightest bit upset if he found out Chica left the building, but he'd never go as far as to hurt anyone.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Chica: He likes showing me how to draw, too! I've been getting better at it!
Michael: You have, it's kind of surprising someone as energetic as Trudge has a hobby as delicate as drawing.
Michael: Oh, hey. What did you guys go out and do for Christmas? Anything fun?
Chica: Mhm! We just went to his house, but it was a lot of fun there! There were so many things I've never seen before!
Michael: I guess that makes sense. It's hard to take an animatronic chicken somewhere public and not get questions about it.
Chica: Trudge said the same thing.. Am I really that wierd?
Michael: There aren't very many of you around, so people would probably be pretty confused if they saw you. But still, it's not like you've done anything wrong.
Chica: Yeah! Weird isn't bad!
-.-.-.-.-.-
Look at her, she didn't phrase that last bit as a question that time.
...
Alright, I'm aware this is an odd time to feel this way, but it makes me feel pretty damn content.. The last 'friends' I had before the Trudge and the animatronics weren't the greatest.. Last time I saw them was at my brother's party. A small part of me wonders how they're doing now. Maybe that event changed them for the better like it did for me.
Maybe I'll look them up later, see what I can find.
Anyway, my point is that I haven't had 'friends' in as long as I can remember. Now that I do, there's a part of me that wants to care for them. Whether that feeling comes from being friends, or I was literally hired to protect them.. It feels good to watch someone I consider to be my friend recover from something they were struggling with.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Michael: You two do anything else?
Chica: Not really. Just hangin' around and being with each other. It was really nice..
Michael: That's all it takes sometimes.
Chica: Mhm! I can't wait for him to come back..!
...
Michael: You two are really close, huh?
Chica: Yeah! Uh..!
...
Chica: Mike?
Michael: ?
Chica: I'm tellin' you this through text 'cause I don't think I could say it if you were here, but, uhm..
Chica: I like him. Like a lot.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Not sure what the surrounding customers thought of this grown man suddenly hunching over their watch like a child.. Buut, they were probably looking anyway, on the account of being purple and 1/5th robot.
Can't say I'm sparing them much attention at the moment.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Michael: Really?
Chica: Yeah.
Michael: Like.. How do you mean?
Michael: Sorry if asking you to elaborate is annoying, but i don't want to jump to conclusions.
Chica: I-I mean it the way it sounds, dummy!
Michael: Sorry, I'm just a little surprised. You and Trudge, huh?
Chica: I-It's not that surprising! We play together all the time!
Michael: Right. Everyone saw it coming, I guess. Maybe it was just the idea of an animatronic and human being together that I hadn't really internalized yet.
Chica: I can't help it! H-He's so nice! And fun to play with!
Michael: You don't need to defend yourself to me-
Chica: H-He's always teaching me how to do new things, and doesn't get mad when I do it wrong! H-He takes me places, and-!
Michael: I get it, I get it!
...
Michael: Has Trudge said anything about it?
Chica: No. Telling him sounds really scary..
Michael: Mm. It's alright, things will play out eventually.
Chica: It's weird, right?
Michael: Yep. That's nothing new, though.
Chica: Okay..
Michael: New years is in a couple days, maybe you can do something then?
Michael: I'm not sure though. I've never had to think about this kind of thing until now.
Chica: Okay.. Okay, yeah!
Michael: Trudge is gonna love whatever you have in store for him, regardless of what it is. So don't spend the next few days stressing over it.
Michael: Have you told anyone else?
Chica: Nooo... You were just talkin' about him at the time, so I was able to get it out easier.
Michael: That's alright. I don't think I'll be much help with this subject though, so if you want better advice, maybe you could ask someone else.
Chica: Okay.. Who?
Michael: I don't know.. I guess none of the other animatronics have experience with relationships either.
Chica: Roxy?
Michael: You think Roxy has advice..?
Chica: Uhhh.. Kinda.. I don't think Freddy or Monty are good at this stuff, so maybe Roxy would be the closest thing right?
Michael: How come?
Chica: She has a 'little' experience. More than the other guys.
Michael: She does..?
...
Chica: I'mma go talk to Roxy real quick, be right back!
Michael: Wait, what do you mean Roxanne has-?

Roxanne: Hello?
Chica: Can I ask you a relationship question?
Roxanne: ..Can you ask me a 'relationship' question?
Chica: Mhm!
Roxanne: Why would I know anything about relationships?
Chica: You know a little bit!
Roxanne: What?
Chica: Right? No?
Chica: I know Freddy and Monty don't, 'cause they don't talk to many girls..

Hrmmm...

Y'know, I came over to this side of the store to get a tape measure.. But methinks I got a little distracted.
I'm not even a movie person, but maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to grab one or two over here while they're so cheap.. Lots of old movies being sold for basically nothing.
Might have to dedicate a time to watch them, though. Otherwise I'll probably just keep playing games and forget about them.
...
Oh, here's an idea.

TXT (Michael_Afton, Roxanne_Wolf)
Michael: Do you guys have any movies over there?
...
...
Roxanne: Like, here at the Pizzaplex?
Michael: Yeah.
Roxanne: No. Don't think so.
Michael: Cool.
Michael: I'm at the movie section of the store. Is there one we should watch?
Roxanne: Like, watch over here?
Michael: Unless you're willing to drag yourself through the snow over to my place, then yes.
Roxanne: I don't fricken' know, I've never watched a movie before! I dunno how this goes!
Michael: Alright, alright. There are plenty of monitors everywhere around the Pizzaplex, how hard could it possibly be to set up a movie room over there?
Roxanne: Not very.
Michael: Any ideas what to watch? I'm not a big movie person, so I'm stumped on what to get.
Roxanne: Then why the hell would 'I' have an idea?
Michael: I dunno, you're around people more. Anything you remember hearing from a passerby?
...
...
Roxanne: What kind of movie is 'Titanic'?
-.-.-.-.-.-
Fair enough, I shoulda thought big. If I want to introduce everyone (including myself) into the world of movies, then it might be a good idea to start with one that's famously good.. Or at least famous.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Michael: It's about some people who were on a infamous boat that ended up sinking.
Roxanne: Sounds dark.
Michael: Mm. The Titanic was a real thing, so the movie is just based off of what really happened.
Michael: So one way or the other, that boat's gonna sink. That's just about everything I know about the movie.
Roxanne: Mmm.. Maybe..
Michael: Give me a second, I'll look up what 'kind' of movie it is.
Roxanne: Okay.
...
...
Michael: Action packed, Drama, Historical drama..
Roxanne: Redundant.
Michael: I'm just reading the damn screen.
Roxanne: Sounds a little boring too. It's just a boat that sunk.
Michael: Also a Tragedy, Disaster
Roxanne: 'I' could have told you that.
Michael: Romance, which might be a little boring if you're not into that kind of thing
Roxanne: We should do that one.
-.-.-.-.-.-
...?
-.-.-.-.-.-
Michael: Not boring anymore..?
Roxanne: It's..
...
Roxanne: It is boring, but I can tell you want to watch it.
Michael: 'I' do?
Roxanne: Yes, buy it and get over here.
...
Michael: Actually, you might be right.
Roxanne: That you want to watch it?
Michael: That it might be boring. We need something that'll capture Monty and Chica's attention too. Maybe a movie for younger audiences.
...
...
Roxanne: For Monty and Chica?
Roxanne: It's not just us? Alone?
Michael: I figured that if you hadn't seen a movie before, the others probably haven't either. So I was planning on having everybody watch th-
Roxanne: I knew that.
Roxanne: I knew that.
Roxanne: Nevermind, I knew it would be everyone.
Roxanne: Misspoke. We should do a different movie, yeah.
...
...
...
...
Michael: You want me to bring Titanic along with whatever movie everyone's gonna watch? You were right, I did kind of want to see it.
Michael: Everyone else would probably be bored though, so it might only be the two of us watching this one.
...
Roxanne: Yeah. If you want to watch it, fine.
Michael: Got it.
