Palisman Luz Noceda

Summary: Witches have the ability to fuse with their palismans, becoming a part of themselves and taking on all the abilities their palisman possesses. Luz becomes the first human to do this and gains the abilities of her bat palisman, Echo.

They landed and undid the suits. Phoenix pulled out the book and looked at it.
"Fighter, I need to tell you something."
"What is it?"
"In Hardcore's Dimension... I took this book from Athena... it's the same book that gave me my powers." Phoenix said, "I learned-"
The was cut off from an explosion in the distance.
"What the fuck was that?!" Fighter Luz shouted in shock, looking towards the explosion.
Phoenix put the book away, she could tell her when they get time.
"I don't know, but we better take a look." Phoenix said.
Phoenix and Fighter ran towards sound as another explosion cracking the air.
"I think it's safe to say that Athena has been busy." Fighter said.
Phoenix looked over at Fighter, noticing the town passed her.
"Fighter... look."
Fighter looked at what Phoenix saw and saw Bonesborough... on fire.
"What the hell has she been doing?"
"I….I don't know. It looks like a full-scale war is going on!" Phoenix said in shock!
The two heard another explosion and ran to a cliff edge, where they saw Boscha, Skara, Hunter, and Gus on the ground, bleeding and in pain.
"She's been here." Phoenix said.
"And I still am."
They turned around and saw Athena, with Eda, Lilith, Willow, and Amity behind her, all of them having been corrupted.
"And she's corrupted our friends again. That trick's getting old, you creep!" Fighter Luz said.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Athena said, "Now my little warriors... attack."
They all summoned their staffs and charged at Phoenix and Fighter, who stand their ground. Before they could get attack though, someone got between them and slammed their staff on the ground, releasing a large burst of magic.
"I don't know who you are, or what you've done to them, but you have five seconds to undo it and leave before I kick your ass." Luz said, looking at Athena.
"My, my, you're an interesting one." Athena said, "A bat palisman, huh? Bats are so 2020."
"I disagree! Bats RULE!" She shouted as she drew a spell circle with her staff, firing a magic beam at Athena!
"I think otherwise." Athena said as she made a shield of shadows appear in front of her, "Not bad, but just because you have a staff, you're still a Human. Minions, knock her off the cliff."
The corrupted witches got up and charged at her. They were all powerful witches with their staffs, so they overwhelmed her quickly and managed to knock her off the cliff!
"No!" Both Luzs shouted.
"Well, that was easy." Athena said.
Athena walked to the edge to see this Luz's dead body, but was hit by something flying upwards fast. She was knocked back and started seething.
"In order to be a witch in this world, you need to be able to fuse with your palisman." Palisman Luz said, "And I have that down."
Athena, and the other Luz's, looked and saw Palisman Luz, who looked far different. Their skin was black, they had brown fur on their torso, they had large bat ears and large nostrils, black eyes, sharp teeth, her legs had become more muscular and had claws instead of nails, and most importantly, her arms were replaced by large bat wings.
"Palisman fusions?! That's a thing?!" Fighter Luz asked in shock.
"Apparently so, and I'm kind of jealous." Phoenix said, having never gotten a palisman herself.
Palisman Luz swooped down and knocked into Athena, knocking her backwards. Athena flipped to her feet as she looked at her new servants with interest. If this Luz could fuse with her palisman…
"All of you, fuse with your Palismen! Now!" Athena ordered them.
They all did, leading to different looking creatures. Eda and Lilith didn't really look that different from their harpy forms, except Lilith had her palismans colors while Eda had Owlberts color. Willow had wings, four arms, a long pointed nose, yellow skin with black stripes, antennas, a bee's abdomen, and even a long stinger. Amity was covered in white fur with purple stripes on her back that resembled an Abomination. Her gold eyes were more cat like than before. Her ears were coming out the top of her head and were like a cats. She had a tail and sharp claws. Even her teeth changed.
"Attack!" Athena said.
Amity crouched down like a cat and jumped at Palisman Luz, while Willow flew towards her. Palisman Luz flew out of Amity's jump range but was quickly intercepted by Willow. Willow tackled Palisman Luz to the ground and tried to stab her with her long nose, but she kept moving her head before she kicked her off!
"Come on, we gotta help her!" Fighter Luz said.
They were about too, when two harpies got in the way.
"Great, this another round of this." Phoenix said, lighting up.
Before they could attack though, an invisible force hit Lilith. Followed by a powerful kick from Skara to Eda. The invisible force was revealed to be Gus, who fused with his palisman, which made him have blue scales, a long tail, long claws, and small spines poking out of his back. Skara, fused with her cricket palisman, had red insect like arms with spikes and 2 fingers, bug wings on her back, large red legs like a grasshopper with 3 toed feet, and she had antenna sticking out of her exoskeleton.
"Woah, she looks like she's got an armor suit on." Fighter said.
"Let's focus on them later and help that... bat version of us." Phoenix said.
Palisman Luz dodged as Willow spun, trying to hit her with her stinger.
"I used to think having a stinger and sharp nose was cool on you Willow, now... I don't like being on the end of it." Palisman Luz said.
Willow was about to attack again but was stopped when a sharp claw grabbed her stinger. Willow turned around and saw Boscha, whose lower body was a crab body, and her upper body covered in a red chitin shell, with large claws replacing her hands.
"Sorry but that's not gonna happen!" Boscha said as she threw Willow away.
"Boscha, be careful, that's your girlfriend... one of them at least." Palisman Luz said.
"I know but it's not easy for me!" Boscha said as Willow charged at her.
'Girlfriend?' Fighter Luz thought as she held Eda back.
'Hmm, another universe where Boscha and Willow are a thing.' Phoenix thought as she held Lilith in a head lock and punched her face repeatedly, 'Oh, this feels good.'
Phoenix may have gotten along with ONE Lilith on this adventure but that doesn't mean she isn't going to beatdown some she can't or doesn't want to get along with if she can help it. Fighter Luz began to get overpowered by Eda, when Skara gave Eda a strong kick to the head, knocking her away.
"Thanks." Fighter said.
"No problem, not only does my palisman give me armor, higher jumps, and the ability to make noise by rubbing my legs together, but it also gives me some strong kicks." Skara said.
"Cool." Fighter Luz said before seeing Amity jump at them. "Move!"
Fighter Luz and Skara dodged as Amity slashed the ground between them, growling with intent to kill.
"No, bad kitty." Skara said.
Amity jumped again, but was stopped by a harpy, a cardinal harpy.
"Sorry, Amity, but this is gonna hurt me a lot more than its gonna hurt you!" Hunter shouted as he grabbed Amity and slammed her into the ground.
"Good thing they say cats have nine lives." Fighter said, seeing Amity unconscious after her head hit a rock.
"Yeah, lucky me." Hunter said as he turned to Fighter Luz. "And just so you know-"
"I get it, you'll want an explanation on me and Phoenix!" Fighter Luz quickly said to him.
Phoenix finished up with Lilith and threw her to the ground.
"Damn, that felt good."
"She's still alive, right?" Fighter asked.
"Yeah... mostly."
Fighter Luz looked down to Lilith, seeing her bruised and lightly breathing to show she was alive.
"You're showing improvement at least." Fighter Luz said as Palisman Luz charged at Athena again.
Palisman Luz was flapping her arms as fast as she could, trying to fly at max speed. Athena snapped her fingers and her and her corrupted minions disappeared.
"NO!" Palisman Luz shouted, seeing her friends gone and the mysterious enemy gone with them.
She flew into the sky but was stopped by Hunter.
"Luz, you need to calm down."
"How?! Bonesborough is on fire, our friends are under some crazy armor lady's control, and we have no idea where they are!" Luz shouted at Hunter.
'Are we always like this when we panic?' Phoenix and Fighter thought as they looked to the burning town.
"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Fighter Luz asked.
"Put out the flames?" Phoenix replied.
"Exactly." Fighter Luz replied.
"That will take a while."
"Well, it's better than watching Bonesborough burn." Fighter Luz said to her. "You can make fire; can't you absorb it too?"
"I... have no idea." Phoenix said.
Phoenix had been a sort of an unkillable fire god for a while and could produce flames as hot as the sun but she never thought about absorbing flames into her body. What would it even do to her?
"Well, it might be a good idea to see." Fighter said.
Phoenix nodded to Fighter as she transformed into a Phoenix, grabbing Fighter Luz by her shoulders and carrying her to town as the others looked in surprise.
"What are they doing?" Boscha asked.
"I don't know but I think we should follow them. They still need to give us answers." Hunter said to them.
"I'll follow them, you get to the Owl House so we can regroup." Palisman Luz said, jumping off the cliff and flying after them.
The others didn't want to leave her alone with herselves(?) but they knew she was right. They had to regroup and rest from this battle. Plus, out of all of them, only her and Hunter could fly.
"Come on, let's go." Boscha said.
Boscha, Gus, Hunter, and Skara headed back to the owl house to wait for Palisman Luz to return with the other Luzs. Meanwhile, with Phoenix and Fighter Luz, they arrived in Bonesborough and landed on one of the buildings that wasn't on fire to see the citizens running away in panic while some tried to put out the fires as well.
"I never thought I'd ask this but where is the Emperor's Coven? They should be helping or at least a fire department." Fighter Luz said as she tapped her fire and ice glyphs, putting her hand out with the other making a hole shape before unleashing a LARGE stream of water to the close by fire.
"Don't know but let's try and do what they obviously can't do." Phoenix said.
Phoenix closed her eyes, hoping that this will work. She held out a hand and pulled the fire towards her. She didn't know how she was doing it, but she could just feel the flames as they came to her, as if they knew her intention with them.
'I will never truly understand my powers.' Phoenix thought.
"How are you doing, Fighter?"
"Pretty good! The power glyph really makes the water spray!" Fighter Luz shouted as she continued to spray over Bonesborough, dousing the flames. "What about you?"
"Well, your theory was right, I can absorb fire but it's a little slow." Phoenix said to her.
"Again, where's the Coven, aren't they meant to handle this stuff?" Fighter asked.
"The Coven won't do anything." Palisman Luz said, flying motionless above them, "Ever since the defeat of Belos, Eda and Lilith have taken over while they reorganize the government, without Eda and Lilith's approval, they won't move a muscle."
"Seriously?" Both Luzs asked.
'Please tell me my universe isn't like that right now.' Phoenix thought as she remembered her position as Emperor of her Boiling Isles
"Seriously. This government is a mess." Palisman Luz said as she landed next to them.
She unfused from her Palisman and he flew and cuddled into her hair.
"But, chaos will reign if they change to much, so they have to take it slow." Palisman Luz said, "So, what can you tell me about this person that showed up."
"She's some sort of tyrant bent on ruling the multiverse and she seems to be targeting versions of us!" Fighter Luz said to her as she continued to put out some fires.
"We've been following her and stopping her at every universe. There's nothing Athena won't do to try to either kill us or try to control us. Kidnapping loved ones, hurting them, controlling them; you name it." Phoenix said as she focused more, drawing more fire into her body, "She's a terrible threat, and she needs to be stopped."
"What can I do to help?" Palisman Luz asked, immediately wanting to stop this woman and save her friends from her.
"For one, help us save people here." Fighter said.
Palisman Luz nodded as she pulled her palisman from her hair.
"Sorry little guy, cuddles will have to wait. We have work to do." She said as he palisman changed back to staff form.
She made a spell circle with her staff and pointed it upwards, making the entire town get hit with rain, not the boiling kind, just water.
"Alright, magic. Don't let me down now!" Palisman Luz said as she watched the rain fall, feeling how cool it was like on Earth instead of burning.
"I think it's working." Phoenix said, letting her fire go out.
"Thank god it is." Fighter Luz as she stopped producing water, feeling the rain getting heavier as the the flames were slowly dying down.
"There, that should help." Palisman Luz said, "Now, let's get back to the Owl House."
She got on her staff, her arms being too tired to fly her there herself.
"You two gonna get on?" Palisman Luz asked them.
"No, I can fly back on my own." Phoenix said to her.
"I'll take that ride." Fighter Luz said as she walked to Palisman Luz, sitting in the bat palisman staff.
"You really need to learn a flying glyph or something." Phoenix said, jumping in the air and floating as her fire came back.
"Maybe you should mind you business." Fighter Luz said as Palisman Luz flew them to the owl house as the rain continued to fall, letting it put out Bonesborough.
"I'm just saying." Phoenix said as she flew behind them.
They arrive at the Owl House and walk inside, seeing everyone's staffs leaning against the wall.
"Welcome to- can you not make out on the couch!?" Palisman Luz said.
Phoenix and Fighter looked at the couch and saw Boscha and Skara making out, with Boscha giving Palisman Luz the finger.
"I regret showing you those Human movies." Palisman Luz said, knowing that's where she got that gesture from.
"Wait, I thought she was with Willow?" Phoenix said.
"She is... it's... complicated." Palisman Luz said, "Skara, Willow, and Boscha are dating but they also have an open relationship, with Willow also having a separate relationship Hunter and Skara having a separate one with Cat."
"An open relationship that big? Son of a bitch." Fighter Luz said with wide eyes.
"Yeah, what about it?" Boscha asked.
"Nothing." Fighter said, "Honestly, I think love is love. Love who you want and have no shame about it."
"Okay, now that we got that out of the way, can we get an explanation as to what's going on?" Skara asked.
"Okay, long story short, there is a person that is trying to take over the multiverse and doesn't care if people get killed along the way." Phoenix said.
"Was it that armored woman?" Hunter asked he and Gus walked in from the kitchen.
"Yeah, her name is Athena." Fighter Luz said.
"How do we stop her?" Boscha asked.
"We... don't know." Fighter said, "So far, all we've been able to do, is beat her into a temporary submission."
"And whenever that happens, she slips away to the next universe. We've come across several different versions of us. Some human, some witch or some neither or both." Phoenix said.
"Well, how do we find her?" Skara asked.
"It depends, sometimes she's looking for things to help her, sometimes she's looking for leverage, sometimes she's looking for something to repair her equipment." Fighter said.
"Guess this time she went with leverage since she has our friends as her servants." Gus said bitterly.
"We're going to save them and then we're going to kick this bitch out of our dimension!" Palisman Luz said.
"Yeah, we are, we just need to find her." Fighter said, "She seems to like being in dark area's, it probably connected to her dark magic."
"If only we knew someone that could easily traverse through dark caves. Someone who can fly, and see in the dark, and has echolocation." Boscha said, looking at Palisman Luz, "Maybe a bat or something."
Palisman Luz looked around and saw everyone looking at her, even her Palisman as it snuggled in her hair was looking at her.
"Oh! You mean me? Yeah, totally. I can do that." She said with a quick nod.
"Who did you think I was talking about?!" Boscha asked, "You're literally a BAT!"
"I'm also a human! I still don't know how many other creatures here can see in the dark, fly, and use echolocation!" Luz shouted.
"A crab can't, a cardinal can't, a chameleon can't, and a cricket can't." Boscha said, "You are the only option."
"I don't mean by palisman fusion." Palisman Luz said to her.
"Either way, you're our best bet." Hunter said as he crossed his arms, "I can check from the air for her, and Gus and Skara can check the forest, while Boscha can check any underwater caves."
"What about us?" Fighter Luz asked for her and Phoenix.
"Depends on what you both can do." Hunter said as they all turned to them.
Fighter went first and did a small show of her gloves and fighting style... Phoenix just reached up and snapped her own neck.
"AAAAH!" Everyone screamed in shock as Phoenix collapsed to the ground.
"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!" Hunter shouted as he pointed to Phoenix's "dead" body.
"And why are you so calm?!" Skara shouted to Fighter Luz.
"Wait for it." Fighter Luz said with her arms crossed.
Phoenix began to stand up and realigned her neck.
"Well, I got rid of that crick in my neck." Phoenix said.
"Good for you….NOW WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!" Palisman Luz shouted in shock of watching herself die and come back to life.
"In her universe, she was born prematurely and wasn't expected to live. Her version of her mom used black magic to save her life. Now, she has the powers of a Phoenix and is an unkillable fire god and Emperor of her Boiling Isles." Fighter Luz quickly explained.
"I also slayed the Titan, saved the world, did a whole bunch of other stuff." Phoenix said.
The group of palisman fusing witches could only stare at Phoenix in shock, never expecting Luz to become a "God" in any universe.
"You slayed the Titan?!" Skara said.
"Yeah, it's a long story. We fought and I flew through his heart." Phoenix said, holding her trench coat up, "You don't even want to know how long it took for me to get the smell of rotting corpse out of my clothes."
"You should go with Boscha." Fighter said, "You can survive the Boiling Ocean."
"And you can go with Gus and Skara land. We'll keep in contact with our belts and their scrolls." Phoenix said as they both nodded in agreement.
"Alright, let's get going." Skara said, grabbing her staff.
"Yeah, little Miss Unkillable, try and keep up." Boscha said, going outside, getting on her staff, and flying to the ocean.
"I should be saying that to you." Phoenix said as she flew after Boscha.
They all separated, with Fighter going with Gus and Skara, while riding with Skara. Palisman Luz and Hunter took to the skies as they fused with their Palismen.
"Alright, this is where we split up." Palisman Luz said, "You head to the cities and towns, and I'll go to the caves."
"Got it." Hunter said.
Hunter flew towards Bonesborough to start, seeing the fires all out and the clouds dispersing, while Palisman Luz flew off to the closest cave she could find. She flew into the cave and let a screech out, letting the sound bounce off the wall and return to her, helping her see in the pitch black.
"Hmmm." Palisman Luz hummed as she now had a mental visual of the cave.
She flew around a bend and into a larger part of the cave, with a large opening in the top. She flew up to it, seeing sunlight out there... and something else. Palisman Luz was knocked to the ground and looked at who knocked her down. It was Eda.
"Two nocturnal creatures in a pitch black cave." Athena said, looking in, "I would love to see who wins, but I have to go."
Athena blocked off the opening, leaving the Bat and Owl Harpy in the dark. Palisman Luz groaned from the attack as she got up, hearing Eda's growling in the cave with her echo location. Looks like she had no choice but to fight her to save her. Palisman Luz jumped up and flew away, trying to get Eda into a tighter area to make restrict her movement. Eda flew after Palisman Luz, firing magic at her in the dark as her owl vision was better in the dark than Luz's echolocation. Palisman Luz quickly flew back and flew past her. Eda was struggling to move in the small corner due to her wings coming out of her back and being longer than the ones that replace Palisman Luz's arm. Palisman Luz flew through the cave, trying to find a way to beat Eda without actually hurting Eda.
'What really sucks about this, is that Owls are a natural predator of bats.' Palisman Luz thought.
Luz knew a lot about owls and bats, always taking an interest in nocturnal creatures as a kid, which is probably why she made Echo a bat, which means she wasn't too surprised when she wasn't able to hear Eda coming. Palisman Luz was knocked out of the sky and landed on the ground, cutting her wing a lot. It would heal but it also meant that her arm would be injured when she returned to normal, and she couldn't fly.
'Curse Owls and their ability to fly completely silently!' She thought.
She unfused with her palisman and held her staff up, unable to see or use Echolocation now.
"Great, I'm bleeding a lot from my arm, I can't see, and I'm fighting an owl." She said, before realizing, "Owls are nocturnal, they thrive in the dark... Time to lighten the mood!"
Palisman Luz held her staff on the ground and spun in a circle like Eda did during the duel with Lilith at the Covention. A large circle of magic followed her staff and a massive light spell formed.
"RAAAAAAAH!" Eda screeched, her eyes blinded as she turned away from the bright light!
Palisman Luz ran towards Eda and used her staff to launch over her like a pole vault. As she did that, she threw an ice glyph at Eda, freezing her wings and making her fall to the ground. Palisman Luz landed on the ground and spun her staff, making a large spell circle with it and using plant magic to tie Eda up.
"I'm sorry, Eda, but this is for your own good!" Palisman Luz said, making another spell circle with her staff, "Sleep Spell!"
Eda screeched at Palisman Luz as she was hit with the spell, losing the will to fight as she felt extremely tired and fell asleep in the vines.
"Good... now..." Palisman Luz fell to the ground, exhausted, "How do I get you back to the Owl House?"
Even if she finally got a staff, Palisman Luz still lacked the most basic devices for communication in the demon realm. A scroll…..but She still had her phone and there were at least TWO people that had human phones as well.
'Would it really work?' She thought as she pulled out her cracked phone, planning on calling herself/one of the other Luzs. 'They should have the same number as me, so it COULD work.'
She decided that Fighter Luz would be the better option, as Phoenix was 40 feet underwater right now.
'Please, let this work.' She thought as she dialed her own number and waited for Fighter to pick up.
Fighter Luz was looking through the woods when... her phone rang. It hasn't had service in over a month, so she had no idea what to think.
"H-hello?" She asked as she answered it.
"Luz, me, whatever! I'm just glad it worked!" Palisman Luz said over the phone, "Listen, I need your help... I got Eda, but my arm is injured, and I won't be able to fly her back in my palisman form, and I can't hold onto my staff and her while flying with one arm. I need your help."
"O-Okay, where are you?" Fighter Luz asked as Gus and Skara looked to her.
The call had drawn their attention as well.
"I'm in a cave... about three miles away from Bonesborough." Palisman Luz said.
"Got it, I'll be there as fast as I can! Just make sure Eda's stays knocked out!" Fighter Luz said before hanging up.
"What's the matter?" Skara asked.
"Your Luz found Eda but is stuck in a cave 3 miles outside of Bonesborough. She's injured and can't fly back so we need to go get them." Fighter Luz explained.
"Alright, I might know which cave it is." Skara said.
Skara fused with her palisman, becoming an armored cricket witch, and grabbed Fighter Luz and Gus before she super jumped towards cave. In the sea, Boscha was in her palisman form, easily walking on the sea floor, while Phoenix swam near her. Each time she drowned, she would be reincarnated and begin swimming again.
'That is still unsettling.' Boscha thought as they approached an undersea cave. 'And the sooner we find something or nothing, the sooner we can leave.'
Boscha crawled through the underwater cave entrance and onto land. Phoenix swam thought and burst into flames for a second to dry off.
"Want to give me a warning before you do that?" Boscha asked, "As delicious as I may be, I don't want to be crab cakes."
"Oh, calm down, I'm extremely careful with my fire. I'd never boil a cold-hearted crustacean unless it was dinner time." Phoenix joked.
Boscha scoffed at this, like she would let any Luz turn her into a seafood dinner.
"Come on, let's go." Boscha said, walking through the cave with her claws at the ready.
Phoenix nodded at her as she held up her hand, making a ball of blue flames to light the undersea cave for them.
"So, any idea what we should be looking for?" Boscha asked.
"Athena, or something she might need." Phoenix said.
"And that would be?" Boscha asked.
"Tools, possibly ancient treasures, or spell books. Anything besides rocks that could be here." Phoenix said to her, "Keep your eyes peeled."
Boscha nodded and snipped her claws like swords, ready to cut or stab anything that wasn't a friend to her.
'Please don't let Willow be here.' She thought, not wanting to hurt one of her girlfriends.
The cave was quiet... until something hit Boscha and made her scream.
"Oh, there's nothing more dangerous to a crab than burning oil." Athena said, "Smells delicious."
"Athena." Phoenix growled.
"And you know what likes seafood... cats."
Athena snapped her fingers and a large white and purple cat ran in.
"Here you go, Mittens, enjoy your dinner." Athena said.
Amity growled at them as she licked her lips, gazing at Boscha with great hunger as the crab fused witch was curled up in pain on the ground. Phoenix got between them.
"Don't even think about it." Phoenix said.
"Oh, what are you going to do? Light up and burn that crab even more? Or are you going to hurt this Luz's Amity?" Athena asked.
Athena disappeared in a cloud of black smoke and Phoenix looked at Amity.
"I don't need fire to beat her, I still have super strength."
Amity roared as she jumped at Phoenix, who reeled her fist back and punched Amity in the stomach!
"Sorry, babe, but I gotta do this!" She said as she pushed Amity to the ground.
Phoenix ran towards the side of the cave and jump off the wall, delivering a powerful punch to Amity. The cat witch groaned from the hit before batting Phoenix away, angry from the hit and denying her meal! Amity ran on all fours and sliced Phoenix's eye. Phoenix flinched from the slice before she began healing and kneed Amity in the stomach.
'Fighting a version of my girlfriend hurts just as much as fighting my own!' Phoenix thought before Amity tackled her and bit into her neck! 'Okay, maybe it hurts more!'
Phoenix pulled Amity off her and threw her to the wall. Amity gracefully put her hands and feet on the wall and jumped down. She meowed while walking towards Phoenix on all fours. Phoenix's neck slowly healed as she groaned, finding it harder and harder to hold back just to force Amity into submission!
"Boscha, if you can move, I could really use some help right now." Phoenix said to her.
Amity tackled Phoenix and sunk her claws into Phoenix's heart. Amity was about to bite down on Phoenix, when her tail was grabbed. She turned around and saw a pink Triclops with second degree oil burns.
"She might not be your Luz but you should know it's wrong to try and kill your girlfriend!" Boscha shouted as she pulled and threw Amity towards the other cave wall!
Boscha held her staff and used it to amplify her magic. She spun her staff and blasted Amity with a powerful spell. Amity was frozen and couldn't move.
"Well, that'll hold her." Boscha said.
"But for how long? Amity is pretty strong." Phoenix asked as her throat was fully healed.
"Long enough for us to get her back to the owl house." Boscha said as she leaned on her staff, still in pain from her burns.
"Here, let me help with that." Phoenix said as she moved to Boscha, placing a hand on her shoulder. "This might hurt a bit."
The red moved from her arm onto Boscha, covering and healing Boscha.
"This is why I stopped eating sea food." Boscha mumbled.
"I feel you. Honestly, I've gave up chicken and other birds since I embraced the phoenix." Phoenix said to Boscha.
"Being able to survive the Boiling Ocean and Breath underwater might seem cool, but when you can be taken out by a pot of fry oil it seems like a massive downside." Boscha said, "You know... I almost did get boiled before. But I was saved... by Luz... she had no reason to save me, but she did anyway."
"When was this?" Phoenix asked.
"About a month ago." Boscha said, "Belos found out that he can use Palisman Fused witches as a more permanent solution to his Palisman addiction. We couldn't be destroyed, and we kept our magic after he absorbed us. For me... he wanted to try something different."
"No, he didn't." Phoenix said in surprise.
"He did. Belos tried and cook me and eat me." Boscha said with a shiver. "I have never lost more respect for the coven system than at that moment. Luz saved me... again, for no reason, I've bullied and belittled her and she still saved me. I vowed to change after that."
"Your Luz saved you because it was the right thing to do and because not even you deserved to be eaten by a psychopath." Phoenix said as she removed her hand, finished healing Boscha.
"I still have nightmares of that moment, some where Luz is too late, some where no one cared, some... some where he didn't even wait for me to die." Boscha said, "I still got it better than Luz did, after saving all of us, she was captured for over a week, constantly having Belos syphon power from her."
"Over a week?! Of Belos sucking magic from her like some energy vampire?!" Phoenix asked in shock and outrage.
"Yeah and the worst part of it, since our Luz is human, the draining hurt even more because she didn't have a bile sack." Boscha said, "She still tries and hide the toll it took, both physical and mental. She can't stay fused as long as most witches because of it."
"And this was less than a month ago?" Phoenix asked.
"Only about two weeks ago."
"….Please tell me that Belos is DEAD." Phoenix said calmly as a rage fire was slowly growing inside of her.
It was like dealing with her Belos all over again, hating him and wanting to burn him to ASH.
"He has a fate worse than death, permanently paralyzed, stuck in the deepest cell of the Conformitorium, left to be forgotten as his mind withers away." Boscha said, "He's had his hands cut off to prevent doing magic, his legs are chained, and his spine was snapped in half. He's never getting out."
"Damn, that's intense…..I like it. Death would've been too good for him." Phoenix said as she looked around the underwater cave. "Now, back to this place, do you think you can make a portal or teleport the three of us out of here?"
"I should be able to." Boscha said, "Hold onto Amity and trying not to light up, the ice is the only thing keeping her secure."
Phoenix nodded to Boscha and grabbed the frozen witch, picking her up and waiting for the spell. Boscha teleported the three of them and they all were back at the Owl House, where they found Palisman Luz. She was sitting on the couch to as Fighter Luz was healing her arm while Eda was still asleep, laying in the other couch.
"Let me guess... Athena?" Phoenix asked.
They nodded.
"Set a trap and had Harpy Eda jump her in the dark. She used a sleep spell to put Eda down and wrap her in vines." Fighter Luz said.
"Same thing with us. Hit me with boiling oil and had Amity at Phoenix Luz here." Boscha said before pointing to Amity. "Had to freeze her in a block of ice. So, any idea how to snap the Blight-cicle out of Athena's control?"
Phoenix and Fighter Luz thought about it for a moment, thinking of what they could use to break Amity and Eda out of Athena's control this time.
"Well, there was one version of us that managed to break them out of it by hitting them hard enough." Phoenix said.
"Yes, but she hit as hard as a freight train." Fighter Luz said.
"And there's no way to do it painlessly?" Boscha asked them.
"Well, there was one time with a light spell." Fighter Luz said.
"Is there anything that you know that can reach them? Something some kind of memory so powerful that it can bring them back?" Phoenix asked, "Because it seems that it can be beaten with something like that."
"Well... I might be able to help Amity." Paliman Luz said, "Unfreeze her and keep her secured."
Boscha did so and her and Phoenix held Amity's arms behind her back. Palisman Luz walked up to her... and gave her a strong kiss on the lips.
"Whoa." They all said, surprised by the bold move.
"Mmm?!" Amity let out before her eyes slowly closed, moving in and enjoying the kiss.
Amity separated and looked at Luz with familiar gold cat eyes.
"Wow."
"Yeah." Palisman Luz said with a smile. "Glad to have you back, Amity."
"So, what did I miss? What happened?" Amity asked.
"A... lot."
"Like a LOT!" Boscha said as she turned to Eda. "Now we just need a way to get Eda back to normal."
"Well, what's something that she holds close?" Phoenix asked, "There's got to be something."
"How about King? He told me that his squeak of rage brought Eda back to her senses once." Gus suggested.
"That could work. Where is he anyway?" Skara asked.
"Probably sleeping, he tends to knock out for several days when he finds the right napping spot." Palisman Luz said.
"Well can we wake him up?" Fighter Luz asked.
"Yeah." Palisman Luz said, "King! Hooty said he was going to eat your dinner!"
A few seconds later, rapid foot steps were heard rushing downstairs.
"DON'T TOUCH MY DINNER!" King shouted.
"There he is!" Phoenix said.
King rushed into the den and looked around for his dinner.
"Where is my food?!" King shouted.
"Relax, we just needed you down here."
"No food? And you ruined my nap?! What could possibly be so important?!" King asked in outrage.
"The multiverse is in danger, a crazy woman has hypnotized half our friends, two different versions of me are here to help, and we need you to use your squeak of rage to get Eda out of her trance." Palisman Luz quickly said as she pointed to Phoenix and Fighter Luz before pointing to a still sleeping Eda.
"Oh." King said.
King slowly looked to the two copies of his Luz, one with flaming hair and matching arms while the other looked like a punk girl with purple gloves.
"Hey." They said to King.
"This is taking too long." Boscha said.
Boscha fused with her Palisman and snapped her claws on King's tail, making in let out his squeak.
"NYEEEEEEEEEEH!" He screeched as Eda slowly awoke from the sound and felt herself laughing from the screech.
"So tiny, so cute." Eda said, wiping a tear away, "Oh... where the hell am I?"
"It worked!" Palisman Luz shouted as she ran and hugged Eda! "Now we just need to get Willow and Lilith back."
"Uh... can you explain what's going on, why there is three of you, and why one of you is on fucking fire!?" Eda asked.
"Multiverse." The Luzs said at the same time.
"That still doesn't answer my question!" Eda shouted as she unfused from Owlbert.
"What is going on?" Eda asked.
"Well... someone's trying to kill us." Palisman Luz said.
"Again?! After the shit Belos pulled?!" Eda asked outrage!
"I know, but this is far more dangerous than Belos." Palisman Luz said.
"How much more dangerous can this be?!" Eda shouted at her.
"She's trying to take over the Multiverse." Palisman Luz said.
"And we've stopped her multiple times but she keeps slipping away into the next universe. She almost burned Bonesborough to the ground before we stopped her." Fighter Luz said.
"But she still has your Lilith and Willow under her control. We need to find them, free them, and hopefully stop Athena here before she slips to the next multiverse." Phoenix explained.
"Well, I'll head to the Coven Headquarters and get people to help. Those idiots are probably running around like chickens without their heads." Eda said.
"Most likely, yes." Skara said with a nod.
"And we'll continue to look for Lilith and Willow." Boscha said before the door was slammed open!
"I found Lilith and Willow!" Hunter shouted.
"Hunter-"
Palisman Luz was cut off.
"They're in a small criminal town, near Latissa!" he said.
"Hunter-"
"This... Athena person is trying to recruit people to her cause, some Coven defectors are also involved, not over the overthrow of-"
"Hunter! You have six arrows in your wings!" Luz said.
Hunter looked behind him and saw arrowheads sticking through his wings.
"Huh... would you look at that." He said.
Just as he said that... he passed out. Everyone, even Phoenix and Fighter, rushed to help him up and set him on the couch. The information he gave them before collapsing was more than useful since now, they had a location and news about what Athena was doing.
"Does anyone know how to remove an arrow?" Palisman Luz asked.
"I've seen it in movies, but it defends in how deep the arrowhead is in." Fighter Luz said.
"Ah, back off Kids, let the person who's been shot by everything from a pea shooter to a Human Assault Rifle." Eda said.
"A what?" Boscha, Gus, and Skara asked.
"You've been shot?" Phoenix and Fighter asked.
"Not important." Eda said quickly before moving to Hunter, "You may want to look away."
They all left the room, with Phoenix going to the kitchen and pulling out the book.
"Hey."
Phoenix looked and saw Fighter Luz.
"So, you going to tell me what the deal with that book is?"
"Yes, I am." Phoenix said as she led Fighter to the kitchen table.
"This is a copy of the book that made me the Phoenix, I stole it when Athena captured me. I was going to burn it, but when I started my fire, it revealed a hidden secret." Phoenix lit up her fire, revealing the glowing message, "The Thunderbird. The Phoenix's most powerful form, capable of harnessing Lightning and commanding thunder. Can only be achieved by studying by a master of fire."
"Whoa, so you're saying that you can become stronger than you are now?" Fighter Luz asked in awe.
"According to the book, but I don't have the faintest clue as to what or who a Master of Fire is." Phoenix said.
"Hmmm, maybe the book is talking about a master of fire magic? But who could be a better master of fire magic than a phoenix, a literal bird made of flames?" Fighter Luz asked.
"I don't know and that's the problem." Phonies said with a sigh.
"This could be used to stop Athena, but I have no idea of how to do it."
"Well, maybe we could work together on this?" Fighter suggested.
"Maybe." Phoenix said, putting the book back in her trench coat, "I don't know how we're going to do it though."
A loud scream was heard as Hunter had awoken in pain as Eda removed the two arrows at once.
"Quite whining! I've numbed the pain to the lowest I could get." Eda said to him, "You're lucky there's only one left."
She grabbed the arrowhead and broke it off, pulling the rest of the arrow out and looking at her handy work.
"Okay, now you probably won't be flying for a little while." Eda said, "These wings need some time to heal."
Hunter sighed as he unfused from Flapjack, holding him in his hands.
"Sorry, Flap. I should've been more careful." He said.
The small bird palisman chirped and rubbed against Hunter's chest. He could never blame his owner, for anything.
"Can he still fly with Flapjack as a staff?" Boscha asked as everyone came back into the den.
"What about his magic too?" Gus asked.
"His magic should be strong still, but he won't be playing flyer derby anytime soon." Eda said, "A reminder that you and your palisman are connected, when you get injured, they also get injured. Look at Luz over there, she was hurt earlier and now Echo's wing is cracked, and her arm is injured."
Fighter and Phoenix looked to their self and saw it was true, her right arm had a large nasty scar and was still slightly red from blood. Fighter was no stranger to injuries, but even that made her cringe. Even the girl who has died thousands of times over couldn't help but wince.
"I'm fine, Eda. It doesn't even hurt anymore." Palisman Luz muttered as she put a hand over it, "And Echo said he's good enough to fly."
Eda looked at Palisman Luz with a sad look. Ever since Belos used her to fuel his palisman addiction, she just hasn't been the same Luz.
"I just want you to be careful, all of you. This Athena sounds like she's worse than Belos." Eda said before looking to Hunter. "Where did you say she was again?"
"Small town near Latissa. She's recruiting criminal and coven defectors still loyal to Belos for something." Hunter said as he placed Flapjack on his shoulder. "Willow and Lilith are there too, still under her mind control."
"Okay, I'll go to the HQ and get the guards to set up an ambush, you go there and make sure no one leaves." Eda said.
"Got it. We'll even save Willow and Lilith if we can." Palisman Luz said.
"So, shall we?" Phoenix asked, grabbing the door handle.
"We shall." Palisman Luz said as her bat palisman turns into a staff.
The group headed out, while Eda headed to the HQ. Everyone flew on their staffs towards Latissa with Hunter riding with Palisman Luz and Fighter Luz riding with Skara.
"So, on a scale of one to ten, how bad is Latissa since I was there in my dimension?" Fighter Luz asked.
"Ever since Belos was overthrown, it's become a home for criminals... even more than usual." Hunter said, "Eda and Lilith have been trying, but powerful mob bosses have taken over, if Athena gets them on their side, she'll have some of the most powerful allies on the Isles."
"And it's going to be a pain in the ass for all of us." Phoenix said as she flew beside them.
"Well, it's a good thing we have some pretty powerful people with us as well." Paliman Luz said.
"Maybe but strength also lies in numbers. We've got good numbers ourselves but will be outnumbered if Athena had a lot on her side." Skara said.
"It doesn't matter how many men she has, or how much she throws at us." Fighter said, "True strength is about how hard you can get hit, and still get back up. As long as we keep fighting, we have a chance."
"Wow, that's pretty good advice." Hunter said to her.
"One of the strongest people I know told me that." Fighter said, "I keep those words close."
"Me too. That woman hit like a Slitherbeast." Phoenix added.
"A Slitherbeast? Man, she must be a monster then." Boscha commented.
"She was something that even the worst monsters feared." Fighter said.
'She was me.' Fighter Luz thought with a smile, 'Well, a far more dangerous and unhinged version of me.'
Still, that version of her was the peak of what a human Luz can do. Something that Fighter Luz was going to strive for after all of this is over. Of course, she was never going to carry any of those weapons. Some of them were... violent, even by Fighter's standards. Focusing back on the task at hand, the group flew across the isles for about 20 minutes before they reached the town near Latissa.
"Alright, let's be prepared for anything." Phoenix said.
Everyone nodded to her as Gus drew a spell circle to hide them from anyone that could see them.
"Alright, Hunter, lead the way." Fighter Luz said.
"Got it. It's this way." Hunter said as he pointed the way, letting Palisman Luz know to fly in that direction.
They arrived at an old Coven building.
"An abandoned Emperor's coven building?" Phoenix asked.
"The coven was reformed and some of its buildings were shut down. This building was one of them." Hunter explained, "Thieves tend to take advantage of stuff like that."
"Especially if valuable and powerful stuff is left behind." Boscha said.
"Well, whatever they have, I'm going to burn it." Phoenix said.
"What? You can't do that. They could be useful." Hunter argued.
"Right now, they're only useful to Athena and we don't want that." Phoenix said as the group landed, still hidden by Gus's spell, "So, are we going to do this stealth fully, or do we destroy that door and march our way in?"
"I think a stealthy approach would be better. We don't know how many this Athena has under her lead." Boscha suggested.
"Better to be safe than sorry." Skara agreed.
"Good, I know a secret way in." Hunter said.
Phoenix was curious about this as everyone began to follow Hunter, how would he know of a secret way inside of the building?
'Maybe he was part of the Coven before Eda and... the other one took over.'
The group neared the building and kept quiet, making sure not to be heard to go with not being seen, and Hunter pushed a certain tile on the outside wall.
"Get in, quick."
Everyone got into the entrance as Gus lowered the spell.
"Alright, if we head this way, we should make it to the old storage room without being seen." Hunter said.
"You mean where they keep all of the weapons and stuff?" Phoenix asked.
"Some but it was mostly used for rations, uniforms, and repair tools." Hunter said as they walked.
'He definitely had to be a coven member.' Phoenix thought.
Walking for a few minutes, Hunter stopped the group before a dead end and moved a brick aside to peak for anyone inside the storage room.
"We're clear." Hunter said.
He then knocked on the brick and shut it, causing the passage to open for them. Now, they had the element of surprise... or so they thought.
"Okay, so, here's what we're going to do-"
The blade of an axe lightly touched the back of Hunter's head.
"Oh no, keep going, I want to hear this." Athena said.
Everyone jolted from her appearance while Fighter Luz and Phoenix were the quickest to move, already attacking her! She easily swung her axe at Phoenix, getting her stuck on it, and then throwing her at Fighter. The two landed on the ground and Athena put the blade against Hunter's neck.
"I recommend you stop, otherwise he might... lose his head."
Boscha, Gus, and Skara froze in place as they didn't want Hunter to get killed.
"Good, very good." Athena snapped her fingers and their hands were tied, "Now follow me."
Everyone growled at her as they followed the woman.
"Oh, don't be like that." Athena said holding her axe towards Amity's neck, "Otherwise, you'll end up like the Amity in that Kure's Dimension... just a lot worse."
Fighter and Phoenix sneered at her, knowing that given the chance, she would do that.
"W-What happened to her?" Amity asked, nervous at the blade.
"Oh nothing, I just cut off one of her arms and killed her. They managed to bring her back but I still killed." Athena said as she moved the blade CLOSER to Amity's neck. "I can do it again if you don't cooperate. I promise she won't come back this time."
"Stop! Please don't!" Palisman Luz shouts to her.
'I just got her back, I can't lose her again!' She thought.
"Don't worry, I won't…so long as you all behave." Athena said as she kept Amity close. "Now keep following me."
Athena opened a door and led them into an office.
"Like my new office?" Athena asked, "Maybe I should stay here and run this place, it could be fun."
"Of course you would." Fighter Luz commented as they all walked into the office. "But what's your goal here anyway?"
"The same it's always been. Build an army, take over the multiverse, just another Tuesday." Athena said.
"And what will you do if your army doesn't want to follow you?" Skara asked to be bold.
"I threaten, mind control, or bribe them." Athena said as she snapped her hands, making Willow and Lilith drop down to both sides of her chair. "Mind control is my favorite."
"We noticed." Fighter sneered.
"Guards, take them to the holding cells while I figure out what to do with them... except the Blonde one, I want to speak with them."
"Me?" Hunter said as Willow and Lilith escorted the rest of them out. "Hey, wait!"
Athena pulled him back by his shirt collar.
"Oh, so this is the famous Golden Guard? Honestly I was expecting something more. After everything that happened In my dimension, you formed a rebellion to try and defeat me, give the power back to whatever was left of the population." Athena chuckled, "Witches and Humans, fighting side by side. You put up a good fight before I ripped your heart out and ate it."
Hunter felt sick at hearing that.
"W-w-what do you want from me?" He asked.
"You see, there's something I need. It's behind a giant locked safe, but only one person knows the combination." Athena said, "So, how about you tell me what it is, and in return... I don't kill you for a second time."
Hunter spit at her.
"Never. I'm not that person anymore." Hunter said as Athena wiped the spit from her mask. "I may have been created just to be a servant, but I am more than that now."
"Fine, be that way." Athena said, "I have ways of making you talk."
"I've been subjected to worse pain." Hunter said.
"Oh, I never said I would hurt you..." Athena got close to his ear, "But your little birdy is a different story."
Hunter gasped as Athena reached into his shirt and pulled out Flapjack, holding him roughly.
"FLAPJACK!" Hunter shots in worry.
"Now... what will it be?" Athena asked, "You give up the code... or I burn him to ash?"
Athena squeezed Flapjack, enough to make him chirp in pain. Elsewhere, Lilith and Willow were leading the others to the cells. Fighter was in the front, behind Willow, while Phoenix was in the back, in front of Lilith. Fighter looked behind her and nodded at Phoenix, who nodded back. Fighter Luz sent a powerful kick into the back of Willow's knee, while Phoenix jumped up and delivered a spin kick to Lilith.
"Sorry, not sorry!" Phoenix quickly said with a smile before she knocked Lilith's head into the ground.
"Nothing personal, Willow." Fighter quickly said as broke her restraints and slammed her fists to the back of Willow's head.
They were out and quickly got the binding off the others.
"Get your staffs ready, we're taking that bitch down." Fighter Luz said.
"What about Lilith and Willow?" Gus asked, looking down to the older witch and his friend.
"Does anyone know a way to break through to them?" Phoenix asked.
"We could try what our Luz did to Amity." Skara said, referring to her and Boscha being in a multiple person relationship with Willow.
"That only solves one of them. Anybody got a way for Lilith?" Gus asked as he pokes Lilith with his staff.
"I could knock some sense into her." Phoenix said, cracking her knuckles.
"No. You might kill her by "accident." We need something more emotional." Fighter Luz said before a thought came to her. "Got it! Lilith! Eda is about to post your most embarrassing childhood photos on Penstagram!"
Lilith opened her eyes and looked up.
"She better fucking not!"
"Wow, that worked too well." Skara said with wide eyes.
"Yeah, it did." Phoenix said with disappointment.
"Now for Willow." Boscha said.
Boscha grabbed her and pulled her in for a massive kiss. Willow opened her eyes and blushed widely as the dark magic faded away from them before she melted into the kiss.
'I don't know what's going on, but I don't care.' Willow thought.
"Uh... I'm here too." Skara said.
Boscha pulled away and turned a woozy Willow to face her.
"All yours." She said with a tiny smile.
"Thank you." Skara said.
Skara moved to Willow and kissed her generously, giving a little hum with it.
"Not that this isn't cute but we're on a deadline." Fighter Luz said with a -_- face.
"Shut up bitch I'm tongue wrestling my girl!" Skara said.
"Yeah, she doesn't like being interrupted when being kissed." Boscha said.
Skara went back to tongue wrestling Willow as Lilith got up and turned away, unfusing from her palisman.
'Children should not be this passionate about their relationships.' Lilith thought.
When they were done, they all began to plan.
"Alright, what would Athena need here?" Fighter Luz asked.
"There's a safe that holds some of the most dangerous items on the Isles, if this 'Athena' person gets into it, there's no telling what might happen." Lilith said.
"And that's why she left Hunter with her! She's going to make him open the safe!" Gus said in a panic for his best guy friend.
"Hunter won't break that easy, Gus." Willow said, having faith in her boyfriend.
"Regardless, we need to get there before she does something."
"Then lead the way, quickly." Skara said, worrying about Hunter too.
"I'll do us one better. I'll teleport us." Lilith said as she spun her staff and created a circle around all of them.
They arrived and saw Athena there. She had Flapjack in her grip with dark magic hurting the palisman as Hunter stood in front of her.
"Go on, unlock it." she ordered him.
"Athena!"
Athena growled.
"Every time."
"Surrender, drop the palisman, and step away from Hunter and the vault!" Lilith ordered her.
"And if I don't?" Athena asked, not bothering to turn around.
"There will be a stain in the place you're standing." Lilith said.
Athena laughed at her threat as she shook her head.
"Cute, you have jokes. I love jokes." Athena said as she help up her other hand. "So do my friends."
With a snap of her fingers, a shadow portal opened under the group and sucked them away. Hunter gasped in fear as Athena refocused on him.
"Apologies for the distraction, back to the safe." Athena said.
"W-what did you do to them?"
"Oh, I just sent them in the void, a horrific place where they'll have to deal with their worst fears." Athena said.
"The void?" Hunter asked in shock.
"Yes, but you won't go. Because I already know your worst fear." Athena said as she held up Flapjack and squeezed tighter, making the palisman chirp in pain as a small crack appeared. "Losing your FIRST real friend."
"Okay okay okay! Ill open it, I swear! Just stop, please!" Hunter said as she turned back on the safe, working in the combination.
"That's a good Golden Guard." Athena said as she stopped squeezing Flapjack.
In the Void, it was just like it sounded. Nothing but black for eternity. The group looked around and tried to find a way out.
"It seems that-" Lilith turned around and saw that she was alone, "H-h-hello?"
"Lily?"
"Edalyn?" Lilith said, looking around, "Where are you?"
"Why Lily?" Eda said, "Why?"
Lilith turned around and saw a petrified Owlbeast.
"Ah!" Lilith let out, falling down as the owl beast that was her sister looked at her.
"Why did you curse me? Why didn't you save me?!" Eda asked as the petrified beast began to move towards her, "I gave up everything for you!"
"I... I didn't mean to-"
"All I wanted was for you to realize your dream!"
"I didn't know! I was young and stupid! I would've never cursed you if I just talked to you instead, please believe me!" Lilith said as she got up and backed away.
"Liar! You hated me! You hated that I was just as good as you, that I could've been better than you!" Stone Eda shouted as she growled, her eyes turning black, "You are a weak and pathetic excuse for a sister!"
Eda charged at Lilith as the witch held up her staff, holding back Eda as she tried to kill her! As Lilith fought against her fear, Boscha opened her eyes. She looked around and saw that she was in her Palisman Form.
"I don't remember fusing."
Suddenly, Boscha was grabbed by a large hand.
"Aaah!" She screamed, being gripped tightly as she was carried somewhere.
The sound of bubbling and sizzling reached her ears as Boscha began to panic, looking around for the noise.
"W-What is that?! What's going on?!" She said.
Boscha was held over a large pot, filled with boiling oil.
"AAHH! No! Don't drop me!" Boscha said.
"And why should I not?" A deep, familiar voice rang as Boscha gasped in fear.
She slowly turned her head and looked up to see a giant Belos holding her in his hand, his blue eyes glowing in the dark void.
"After all, you're nothing but another creature to fuel me." Belos said, letting go of Boscha.
"NOOOOOOO!" Boscha screamed in horror as she fell towards the boiling liquid!
She landed with a splash. In another part of the void, Amity was looking around for... anyone.
"Hello? Luz, Lilith? Anyone?" Amity called out as she held Ghost close.
She heard strained breathing and looked down, seeing Palisman Luz fused with her palisman.
"Luz!?"
"A-A-Amity?" Palisman Luz asked.
She moved her wing, revealing a massive wound, with blood pouring out.
Amity gasped before knelling before her, ripping her sleeves to try and stop the bleeding.
"I-It's going to be alright! I can fix this!" Amity said to her.
"Amity-"
"I'm not going to let you die!" Amity said, "I... I can't let you die."
Amity cried as she did her best to stop Palisman Luz's bleeding, but it barely stopped! Amity didn't know any healing magic!
'Maybe some abomination magic could help stop the bleeding?' She thought.
Amity tried to do magic, but her magic wouldn't work.
"No!" Amity said, "Just... just hold on Luz!"
Amity pressed on the injury more to stop the bleeding, needing and praying that it would stop so Palisman Luz would live!
"Amity... I... I... love..."
Palisman Luz's eyes began to close.
"No! No! Don't close your eyes! Luz, you need to stay with me!" Amity shouted to her.
Her eyes closed and Amity began crying over the bat human hybrid. Elsewhere, Fighter Luz was in a stance, ready for a fight. She didn't know where this place was, but it was bad news. She was alone, she couldn't see anything, and she felt like she was being watched by something or someone!
"I know you're there, so why don't you come out so I can kick your ass!" She said.
"Why would you do that? I'm only trying to help."
Fighter Luz went stiff when she heard that. She recognized that voice, it haunted her dreams for years.
'This place, is this we're Grom came from?!' She thought as she turned around, looking for the familiar voice.
"Hey, you lost, kid? Maybe I can help."
Fighter Luz seethed, not wanting this to happen again, she can face this fear... she was sure of it. Before she could do anything, she was grabbed and pushed to the ground. She was about to fight back when she noticed... her gloves were gone... her hands were smaller... she was a kid again.
"What?! No no!" Fighter Luz said as she tired to get up but was pushed back down. "Get off me, you creep!"
"Oh, don't be like that, I'm, just trying to help." He said as he grabbed Fighter Luz's shirt and pulled it off.
Elsewhere, Phoenix was trying to activate her powers, but they wouldn't work.
"Come on, where is it? Where are my powers? The place couldn't have taken them away." Phoenix said as she put a hand on her chest. "I can feel it inside of me but why can't I bring it out?"
Suddenly the ground shook, surprising her. She looked around and saw someone she never wanted to see again.
"Belos." She growled.
"Please, call me Titan." Belos said, as he began to shift into the Titan, "After all, we do have a history."
The ground beneath her shifted as Phoenix was carried and held in a giant hand!
"I must say, you put up a good fight... but it wasn't enough." Titan said, holding up Amity in the other hand, "Care to say goodbye?"
"Amity!" Phoenix yelled.
"L-L-Luz!" Amity said, "You need to stop him before-"
Titan crushed Amity in his hand, like a normal person would do to a fly.
Phoenix gasped as a great pain enters her heart, crying tears as the blood of her girlfriend trickled down his hand.
"AMITY!" Phoenix screamed as Belos/Titan chuckled at her pain.
"And here I thought the Phoenix was meant to stop my reckoning." Titan said, "How many more have to die for you to understand that you're nothing more than a failure? Perhaps your mentor?"
Titan dropped the mush that used to be Amity and summoned Eda. He held her so that his thumb and pointer finger were on each side of her head.
"Eda!" Phoenix said.
"Luz, stop him... please!" Eda said.
Titan closed his fingers, popping Eda's head like a grape. Letting the rest of her body fall into the darkness.
"I have thousands of others that you've failed. Your pain is just beginning." Titan said.
Elsewhere, Skara was looking around for her friends.
"Hello?! Hunter?! Gus?! Luz?! Other Luzs?!" Skara called out to the darkness.
Skara suddenly saw Boscha and felt relieved... until Boscha's mouth moved without sound coming out.
"What? What are you saying?" Skara asked her, unable to hear her.
Boscha continued to speak but Skara was still unable to hear her.
'What?' Skara tried to say, but nothing came out.
Skara held her throat in shock, unable to her herself as well!
'What is this place doing to us?!' Skara thought.
Boscha kept talking, but Skara couldn't hear her and couldn't talk.
'My... my bard ability. I can't be a bard if I'm deaf and mute!' Skara thought.
Willow, Hunter, and Kat appeared as well, all talking to each other somehow but Skara was still unable to hear them! The people she loved most and she couldn't hear them! Skara closed her eyes and fell to her knees. She tried to scream but nothing came out. Elsewhere, Willow was trying everything to remain calm. She doesn't know where her friends are, and she's in some never-ending darkness, so basically, it's just another Tuesday hanging out with Luz.
"Okay, just stay calm. You've been in dark places like this before, you can find your way out." Willow said to herself.
She heard a small noise, almost like... a bugs wings. Willow meeped as she froze, gripping her staff tighter as the noise grew louder. Something landed behind her, and she got stiff. She turned around and saw a giant ladybug.
"HSSSSSSSS!" It let out to her.
"AAAAAAAAH!" Willow screamed as she took off running, wanting to escape her giant fear!
The ladybug stepped on her, preventing her from moving.
"HSSSSSSSS!" It hissed again, opening its mouth to show 3 rows of teeth!
Willow screamed, trying to use her magic, and just like everyone, it didn't work. The ladybug bit at her as Willow raised her staff to block, not wanting to be eaten! As Willow fought back, Gus was flying around the black void on his staff in search of his friends. So far, he couldn't see anything, he couldn't even tell if he was moving.
"Guys! Can you hear me?! Guys!" Gus shouted as he "searched" for everyone, "Oh, this is bad, I can't find them."
He jumped off the staff and landed in the ground, stopping his search as he looked around. Suddenly, he saw someone in the distance and ran to them.
"Finally!" Gus said as he reached the person.
He ran to the person and went through them.
'What?' He thought in shock as he stopped, looking back to the person. 'Why did I just go through them?'
"Hey, can you hear me?" Gus said, trying to get their attention.
"Such a weak Illusion." a voice said.
Gus looked around for that voice, wondering who was speaking and why they were commenting on some illusion.
"People say that he's a prodigy but this? It's year one. It's nothing special." Another voice said.
"I've seen babies do better magic than that."
Their words made Gus wilt and shook, feeling that they were directed at him for some reason, but he didn't cast any spells!
"If this is what a prodigy is, then I must be a coven head! Hahahahaha!"
More voices began laughing as Gus continued to shake, feeling that they were laughing AT him.
"Stop it…..stop laughing!" He said as he looked around.
Outside the void, Athena was going through everything in the vault.
"Oh, these are amazing weapons... but not what I'm looking for." She said.
Hunter was on his knees as he held Flapjack.
"It's okay little buddy, I'm here." Hunter said, "Can you still fight?"
Flapjack let out a chirp, before turning into his staff form.
"Good." Hunter said, standing up and pointing his staff at Athena, "Give me my friends back!"
"I expected as much." Athena said as she picked up a weapon and looked it over. "You're just as loyal as the other's before you, except Belos can't kill you this time."
"I may be a Grimwalker but I'm still a person!" Hunter shouted at her.
"I doubt that." Athena said, "But if you want to die, I'll give you what you want."
Athena snapped her fingers and opened a portal to the void behind Hunter.
"Step in if you dare or make a rope to save them, it won't matter since they're probably died by their fears now." Athena said to him.
Hunter ran to the portal. He used his staff and summoned a rope. From behind, Athena ran at him with her axe. He suddenly felt pain on his back from Athena's swing, leaving a massive cut and sent him to the ground.
"Wow, you never turn your back on the enemy, I thought that was the first thing you were taught?" Athena asked, closing the portal, "Did you really think I would let them out? You're just as foolish as your counterpart was."
Athena left the bleeding grimewalker and went back to the vault. Hunter reached out and grabbed his staff. If she wanted to play like this, then so would he. Athena grabbed a small spherical item and smiled.
"Perfect." She said.
Suddenly, Hunter teleported behind her and slammed his staff against her. Athena was knocked back with the sphere falling out of her hands. She growled and looked at Hunter.
"Like you said, never turn your back to the enemy." He said, pointing his staff at her, "Let's dance."
Athena stood up and held her axe.
"Gladly."
Hunter teleport rushed to her, appearing behind Athena as she turned to block an attack before he teleported above her and swung again! Athena put her axe up and blocked. She used the quick distraction from it to grab Hunter's wrist and throw him to the ground. She swung her axe down, causing Hunter to roll out of the way. Hunter got up and spun his staff, firing a water spell at Athena as she spun her axe quickly to block the water. Hunter still used this as he slammed his staff on the ground to send a lightning spell to shock her. Her metal armor and the water conducted the lightning, and her hit her with enough to send her flying back, letting out a groan. Athena got up and charged at Hunter, no longer holding her axe, but sill just as deadly. Hunter threw his staff in the air and Flapjack held there; Athena wasn't the only one skilled in hand-to-hand combat.
"I am going to enjoy beating you to death AGAIN." Athena said.
"I'm not like the one you killed." Hunter said to her as he dodged a punch and kicked her back.
He ran at her and threw a punch, which she blocked with her forearm. Hunter quickly changed and delivered a strong spinning back kick to Athena's stomach.
"Urgh!" She grunted before grabbing his foot and throwing him towards the wall!
Hunter rolled to land on the wall before jumping to avoid Athena punching through it, allowing him to jump above her. Hunter sent a strong kick into the back of her knee. Athena fell to her other knee as Hunter put her in a headlock from behind!
"Open the portal to the void!" He shouted to her, gripping her neck as tightly as he could.
"Or what? You'll kill me?" Athena asked, "You can't do that, I know who you are, you don't have the guts."
Hunter was right, he didn't have the guts to kill her... but he did know how to hurt someone without touching them.
"Open it, or the sphere you need gets destroyed." He said.
"What?" Athena asked in surprise.
"You heard me. The other weapons didn't mean anything to you but that small sphere did." Hunter said as Flapjack flew and stood before it. "Either you open the portal and release everyone or Flapjack will take that sphere and destroy it right here and now!"
"You're bluffing." Athena said.
"My friends are on the line, I will do anything to get them back." Hunter said.
Athena stayed still and quiet.
"Flapjack!"
Flapjack grabbed the sphere and took it up high. He dropped it and began to let it fall.
"No!" Athena said, "I'll do it!"
Flapjack grabbed the sphere before it could hit the ground.
"Good, now portal then out!" Hunter said, still holding Athena in a chokehold.
"Grrr." Athena growled, hating this defeat but did as Hunter asked.
She held her hand out and snapped her fingers, opening a large portal to the void and letting everyone fall out to the ground. They were all shaken, sweating from fear, a crying but they were unharmed PHYSICALLY. Mentally, that was a different story. They all looked broken, some of them crying. Phoenix fell to her knees and started to breath heavily, Fighter didn't make a sound, but she had tears gushing from her eyes. Hunter immediately ran over and wanted to make sure that they were okay. Athena used the distraction to grab the Sphere and open a portal to the next dimension. She got what she needed; she didn't need to stay any longer. She went through the portal. only seconds later, Eda and a few guards came in.
"Kids!" Eda shouted, seeing them on the ground and looking terrible. "Search the perimeter! That woman can't be far!"
"Yes, ma'am!" They said as they rushed to check for Athena.
Eda went to check on the group, starting with her sister as Lilith looked like she said a ghost.
"Lily, you okay?" Eda asked as she grabbed her shoulder and gained her attention.
"E-Edalyn…."she said before crushing Eda in a hug. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
Eda was surprised, she didn't expect Lily to just randomly hug her, especially while crying.
"It's... it's fine." Eda said, "What happened?"
"I... oh Titan, I saw so much, such... horror." Lilith said, "I felt your claws cut through me as you said I was a horrible sister."
"What?" Eda asked.
"It was the void, a dimension Athena sent them to that showed them their worst fear. That must've been Lilith's." Hunter said as Skara hugged him very tightly!
"It was horrible. I couldn't hear or say anything to anyone!" She said as she cried into his shoulder.
"I…..I lost Luz." Amity said, staring at the ground, as Palisman Luz moved to hug her. "I tried to stop the bleeding but I couldn't. She bled out in my arms."
"The oil, the heat... I... I can still feel it." Boscha said, failing to hold in her tears, "My skin still burns!"
"E... everyone... everyone dead." Phoenix whispered loudly, "He... he killed everyone... one by one... crushing them in front of me."
"Giant ladybug, trying to eat me." Willow said as she rocked in place.
"The laughing, it wouldn't stop. It just wouldn't stop!" Gus shouted as he held his ears.
"Luz?" Eda asked, looking to Palisman Luz as she rubbed Lilith's back.
Palisman Luz didn't reply, and she continued to hold Amity but she didn't show Eda the scar she got from Belos. That was enough to let her know her worst fear.
"What about you Kid?" Eda asked Fighter Luz.
She just stayed quiet, she didn't have the energy to speak.
"Okay... let's get back to the Owl House." Eda said.
Nobody disagreed as they all slowly got up, using each other for support as they left the room. Boscha actually had to be picked up by Willow to be carried out and Gus was giving a piggyback ride by Hunter. Eda went over to Fighter, who was still on the ground.
"Hey, are you-"
Eda tried to put a hand on her shoulder, but Fighter got a punch lined up the second that she felt someone touch her. Eda saw the thousand-yard stare in the girl's eyes.
"Come on, let's go." Eda said softly, slowly putting her hands on the girl to pick her up, "I'm not a threat."
Fighter Luz relaxed a bit, mostly because she's lost any fight she had. This experience, it had devastated her and Phoenix. They don't know how or why she didn't reveal it until now, but Athena had just dealt a crippling blow to them. At the Owl House, they all were trying to recover from what they witnessed, for some that was easy, but for others, that's difficult. Those like Phoenix, whenever she closed her eyes, she saw everyone she ever knew being turned into a paste by Titan. For Boscha, she was still able to feel the burns, and it got even worse, because she was pulled out of the pot eventually, and cooked crab only goes one place after the pot... that's the dinner table. The worst part was she was alive, she was seen as dead, but she was still aware the entire time her body ripped apart and eaten. For some, like Skara and Gus, it was far easier to move past what they had to deal with, as they were only there, that weren't physically or mentally hurt. For those like Fighter... she would try and hit anyone that got close. Whatever she went through, it was the worst of the group.
"Hey." Palisman Luz said as she stood from a distance from Fighter Luz, holding a bowl of food.
"What?" Fighter Luz replied, sending a glare to her counterpart.
"Just bringing you some food. After what we all went through, something to eat could help calm us down." Palisman Luz said as she held the bowl out to her. "It's spaghetti and meatballs with shredded cheese, it took a bit of trial and error before we got it right to eat for us."
Fighter Luz looked at the food, seeing that it did look good, and reminded her that it's been who knows how long since she ate something. So, she lowered her glare and slowly reached for the bowl, her hands shaking before she grabbed it.
"Thanks." Fighter Luz mumbled before taking the bowl and eating the food.
"I know what it's like." Palisman Luz said quietly so the others won't hear, "I know what it feels like to be violated, to be abused in that sense. I didn't tell them everything that happened to me when I was kidnapped."
Fighter looked at Palisman Luz, seeing the same look she had in her own. Fighter gave Palisman Luz a nod, showing that she understands.
"Is that what you had to deal with?" Fighter Luz asked.
"Among other things." Palisman Luz said, "I was beaten, drained, raped by guards, stuck in a cold cell with the only light coming from my next tormentor opening the door, the only thing I had to eat was small bits of rotten meat and dirty water. I threw up so much that I lost twenty pounds before I was discovered. I was insanely sick when I got rescued, took Healer's several days to fully heal me... but as hard as he tried, I refused to break, I wouldn't let Belos, or the guards that abused me, get the satisfaction of hearing me scream."
Palisman Luz walked away, her shirt collar was low enough that Fighter Luz could see the top of an Emperor's Coven brand scar on her lower neck that most likely stretched to the lower back.
'Damn, she's a lot tougher than I thought and yet, she managed to bounce back.' She thought as she continued to eat.
After she finished eating, Fighter stood up, her legs still shaking a little, and she slowly moved over to Phoenix. Phoenix was still trying to recover from her own fear, watching hundreds die in front of her in graphic ways, all because she couldn't stop Titan. Fighter lightly tapped her shoulder, causing her to turn around.
"We... we need to go." Fighter said, "Look at all the damage she caused in the short time she had before we got here, she's had nearly double that time."
"Alright, get the suit on and let's go." Phoenix said, pressing her belt and getting covered in the suit.
Fighter did so too, and the two of them went through the portal.
