2nd Visit
No sign of the mystery student yet. Amity watched her girlfriend search through crowds of random students in the halls. She had no idea what to expect. It's a miracle that someone joined the club, but she never heard of a girl named, Azi. She's probably new.
A knock on the window grabbed the girl's attention. Outside was a student who matched Azi's description. Luz darted across the classroom to let her in.
"Hey, you came!" Luz didn't react to her entrance.
Why did she come in through a window? Amity wanted to ask her that but maybe later. Right now, it's time for introductions. "You must be Amity! Hi, I'm Azi!" she happily introduced herself.
Amity's mind was preoccupied at the moment. She was too busy trying to figure out why Azi's smile seemed so familiar to her. She glanced at Luz who had the exact same expression which was odd. Amity did a double-take between Luz and Azi to confirm that they do look alike. When Amity saw Azi's worried face, she realized that she hasn't responded yet.
She forced a smile and awkwardly replied, "Yeah, I'm Amity and you're Azi, a student here?"
Now, Luz looked worried too. Amity took the chance to compare both of their expressions again. Azi looks just like Luz. She could be her older sister. Strange how Luz found the only student who could be her twin.
Azi pulled out an Azura Book from her bag and held it up to block her face. She said nervously, " Yeah and I just finished book one and I loved it."
"Really? But you just got it yesterday," Luz responded.
"I couldn't put it down," Azi explained.
Amity had to focus. We're all here because we're fans of Azura. It's not her fault that she looks like her girlfriend. "What was your favorite part?" Amity asked in a normal tone.
The Azura book club's first meeting went great from there.
"See ya tomorrow,"
"I'll definitely be back."
Azi and Luz were exchanging goodbyes. Amity noticed that Azi was slowly walking towards the windows. "You're not going to the front?" she asked.
The club member was already outside on her palisman. "This is a shortcut!" she yelled back.
That was so weird. Azi flew at top speed into the forest away from any neighborhoods. Where is she going?
"What's wrong, Amity?" Luz cautiously asked. "Do you not like Azi?"
"No! She's fine. It's just…" Saying her thoughts out loud is going to be embarrassing. "It's creepy that she looks just like you."
"WHAT?!" Luz shouted. "N-no, she doesn't. She's older and her hair is longer and lighter and her eyes are yellow."
"Did you notice too?" Amity asked. "Those are little things. You two have and make the same faces. You two could be sisters."
"But," Luz didn't want to admit it. "But, she's a witch and I'm only human."
Amity cannot argue with that. Azi is not human. "It's probably just a coincidence," Amity admitted.
"I mean it's not like she speaks Spanish." Luz teased.
The implications of that made Amity laugh.
