3rd Visit

Apparently, Luz saw nothing wrong or suspicious that Azi could come through the window again. She patiently waited next to it looking for her. Amity considered how to casually bring this up. Maybe Azi has a completely innocent reason why she does.

"There she is!" Luz excitedly yelled.

She balanced herself on the windowsill to wave outside. Amity jolted from witnessing that. Luz could easily lose balance and fall. She sprinted towards her girlfriend, but Azi was faster on her palisman, Midnight. "Careful, don't fall," Azi cautioned.

"It's fine," Luz reassured her.

She jumped out of the way to let Azi in. After a few quick hellos, Azi proudly announced that she already finished the second novel and asked for the third. "Whoa," Luz said impressed.

"You must really like Azura," replied Amity.

"Sure do!" Azi replied with a big smile.

Azi made a slime bean chair and flopped down on it. She held the third novel over her head and said, "I can really relate to her."

The club leaders agreed. It was a cool feeling to tell another person about Azura and make a new fan in the process. Amity can't shake the feeling something is off about the mysterious club member, but she didn't do anything wrong. She is just innocently reading the next Azura book.

Luz quietly excused herself to go to the bathroom. Now, Amity was alone with her.

"Azi?" Amity called out to her.

"Yeah Amity," Azi peeked up from the book.

Amity didn't want to come off as rude. She cautiously said, "You don't have to rush through the Azura books. You have all year to read them."

Azi's expression shifted for a brief moment. She almost looked guilty. Suddenly, her smile was back and she hugged the open book. "But it's so good," she whined.

Wait, does Azi know what a hug is or was she just being a quirky fan girl? Hugs are a human thing. Amity didn't know what they were until she met Luz. Would Luz hug an inanimate object? Maybe…

"It's just we don't know anything about you," Amity blurted out.

And why do you look and act just like Luz, her thoughts completed the statement. "Maybe we could get to know each other a little better. I can go first," Amity offered.

"That's okay; you can probably guess everything about me already," Azi politely declined. "I'm sixteen, on the abomination track a class up, and a new fan of Azura."

For the first time ever, Amity didn't want to switch the topic to Azura. "But, we're on the same track and I never seen or heard about you before the club," Amity pointed out.

"That's because I'm a new student. My moms moved nearby for work," Azi retorted back.

That's a lie, but she can't prove it. Amity has no idea how she knows this; she just does. Azi kept her smile up as she stared Amity down and she mirrored her. She did not want this conversation to end. "What kind of work?" Amity asked.

"Are you two fighting?" Luz asked confused.

Luz wondered where all the tension was coming from. She was only been away for four minutes. Amity swiveled to her and answered, "What? No? I was just asking her a few questions."

Azi sighed in relief, laid back down on her bean chair, and held the book over her head to continue reading. She seemed to be deep in thought. Azi chuckled and murmured to herself, "You know; Mom being Mom."

Luz and Amity looked at each other in shock, but Azi kept reading like nothing happened. Luz immediately ran over to her. "Yeah?" Azi said to Luz.

"You just called Amity your mom," Luz bluntly stated.

"I did?" Azi said confused.

She shrugged and laughed it off. "That's embarrassing; I didn't mean to. She kind of reminds me of her sometimes."

That statement stunned Amity. She pointed a finger to face and asked "Wait, I remind you of your mom?"

Azi saw her confusion. She sat up to lock eyes with Amity again. "Yeah, one of them," Azi gleefully answered.

So, she wasn't lying about having two moms. Amity's mind tried to picture them, but it fried her brain. "How?" Luz spoke up for her.

Azi took a second to think about what to say next. "Sometimes, my mom would think I'm up to something and would start asking a lot of questions. She usually right though," Azi said with a devious smile.

Azi's last words echoed in Amity's head. It almost validated her craziest theory about Azi and that made her giggle a lot. She did for so long that Luz and Azi were a little concerned for her. "What about your other mom?" she eventually asked.

"She the silly one," Azi answered.

"Which one do you resemble?"

"Amity," Luz protested.

"I'm curious," she innocently responded.

Azi's dark chuckle caught their attention. She does seem to be up to something. "Well, Mom always said I look just like Mami. But, if Mami hears her, she'll always say that I have her eyes."

That didn't help to picture her moms. Maybe the next question should be about their appearances respectively. But Luz immediately replied, "Hablas Español?"

Azi turned to her and replied, "Eh?"

Then Azi's face immediately tensed up. She grabbed a handful of slime and launched it at an unknown target. Luz and Amity turned to see that a Hexside guard invaded the Azura Book Club.

The club leaders demanded to know why it was there. It only hissed back, "Not a student."

Within seconds, Azi grabbed her cat palisman and escaped through the open window. She probably didn't hear the protests for her to stay. "Danger neutralized," the guard whispered.

"She wasn't dangerous," Amity grunted.

The Hexside guard ignored her and trailed away. The classroom felt empty without the third club member. The two club leaders mindlessly gazed at the open window. Amity took a deep breath and declared, "She's not coming back this time. We should go after her."
