Kagome nodded as she gave the rest of the girls a pointed look, as if daring them to protest. She knew everyone was on edge and confused and scared but it was late and frankly she was tired and there was no telling when they would have the chance to get a nights sleep. "Let's get some rest, come one." She gave a small strained smile at Daryl as he opened the door and held it open for them.

Ayumi nodded and moved to Kagome's side, Yuka and Eri glanced at each other in fear but followed suit not wanting to be left in the store with the dead body. They shark away from Daryl as they passed him flinching as he huffed and shut the door behind them.

Daryl could only roll his eyes as the two girls cowered together in the corner, they were acting like he was going to eat them. He was a lot of things but he was not a woman beater. Stalking past Kagome and Ayumi he sat down on the pallet Merle was on, waving away the offered beer. "Naw, I'm keep watch. We might think we're safe in here but anything could happen."

Merle shrugged and opened the beer himself. If Daryl wanted to stay up, let him, he was planning on getting a buzz and passing out. As far as he was concerned it was the end of the damn world and he was gunna enjoy it.

Kagome glanced at Ayumi, wanting to know what Daryl said to his brother. A small flush on her face, she hated this. Having to rely on someone to translate, she hated feeling useless and out of the loop. She would definitely have to have Ayumi help her with the language barrier, the girl was a great tutor and would no doubt have her up to par relatively soon.

Ayumi shifted closer to Kagome, taking comfort in the heat raiding from her body. "He said he's going to stay up and keep watch. Just because we think we're safe in here doesn't mean anything wont happen." Her voice was low so only Kagome could hear her, Eri and Yuka were curled up in a corner trying their best to pretend they were anywhere else.

Kagome sighed as she guided Ayumi to sit by Yuka and Eri, jestering for her to take a seat. "I'm going to see if I can find something to make us more comfortable." With that she moved towards the open boxes sitting on pallets and began to rifle through them. The first few boxes had backpacks and other school supplies, cheap dollar store quality ones. Moving on she went to a larger un opened box and frowned at the forgein letters on the side of it. Huffing in annoyance she stared at them as if willing them to shift into kanji.

"Need some help there?" Darlys voice made her jump as she turned to face him with a flush on her cheeks. While she didn't understand most of what he said she did understand 'help' and she could tell from his aura that he only wanted to help. Nodding her head she rubbed her shoulders and gave an extracted shiver hoping he would get her meaning.

Arching a brow at her he watched her chatter her teeth, her blue eyes imploring him to understand. Sighing he glanced at some of the other boxes and pointed at one. "If you're looking for something to keep you warm that one has some blankets in it." Sighing as she merely stared at him he moved past her and opened the box pulling out some thin blankets wrapped in plastic.

Her eyes lit up as she moved to stand next to him, a smile on her face as she stopped her game of charades.

Holding a blanket out to her he pointed at, "Blankets.", he repeated the word once more, a small smile curling on his lips as she huffed at him, her cheeks flushed. She moved to grab them but he held them out of her reach. "Ah, come on say it, blanket." He wasn't trying to be mean. He just wanted to help her grasp the basic words she would need if she ever got separated from her friend.

Glaring at Daryl she could only exhale through her nose, while she could tell from his aura that he held no malice in his intent it was still a bit degrading. She could feel her friend's anger at his actions as well as his brother's amusement, all eyes were on them and it was starting to get to her. Huffing she opened her mouth to spit the word out at him. "Blankets." He nodded as he lowered his hand to give her the blankets, grabbing them she held them to her chest a small scowl on her face.

"Thanks." The word tumbled from her mouth as she turned on her heel to walk back to the other three females. Sure the word had a tinge of annoyance to it but she did mean it. The faster she got a grasp on the language the faster she would be able to hold her own and be able to help out her friends more.

Holding the packaged blankets out she smiled as they stared up at her. Eri had a dark scowl on her lips as she took the offered blanket. "How dare he do that! The jerk!" Kagome sighed as she sat down next to them, opening her own blanket to wrap around herself. "He didn't mean anything by it, plus the faster we learn the language the better. We can't keep depending on Ayumi to be our translator, it's not fair to her."

Eri huffed, but didn't say anymore. Instead she curled up next to Yuka, both of them casting a dark glare at Daryl as he sat back down next to his brother.

Merle gave a small bark of laughter, digging his arm into his younger brother's side. "Careful now, don't wanna rhile up the school girl's." Huffing at his brother Daryl shoved his arm away from him a scowl on his lips. "Whatever, get some rest. I'm not carrying your drunk ass tomorrow." Merle snorted as he crushed the last beer can and tossed it behind him and laid back on the pallet, using his arms as a pillow under his head.

Kagome shifted as Ayumi curled into a ball on her side, her head resting in her lap. Next to her Eri and Yuka had curled into each other, their backs to the males in the room. She herself was still sitting up, she would help Daryl keep watch. It wouldn't be the first time she stayed up all night to keep alert. Sure, she was tired but adrenaline and fear was churning in her veins. Her survival instinct had been stoked and now they were a roaring fire.

She would do whatever it took to keep her friends alive and safe.
