Kara unlocked the door, juggling her work bag and groceries in one arm while manipulating the key with the other. Opening her mouth intending to let her family know that she was home, Kara was stopped by a high pitched giggle to her left. Setting the bags on the small table that sat in the entryway, she spied her five-year-old son underneath, who held a finger to his lips upon seeing his mother.

"Is the predator down, over?" Frankie whispered into the walkie-talkie.

"The predator is down, I say again the predator is down. Over." Danny's voice came through the small microphone, the words punctuated by several very fake sounding explosions.

"Can I make the eagle call, Daddy? Over." Frankie's excitement made Kara smile. Growing up an only child with no younger siblings for guidance, Kara sometimes struggled to find ways to entertain Frankie. For all his faults, that was one area where Danny excelled. His decision to gift Frankie a set of walkie-talkies for his birthday had been genius. Frankie loved them, the only downside being how often he ran through the batteries.

"Affirmative."

Frankie promptly broke into an ear piercing screech. Wincing, Kara picked up the groceries and turned towards the kitchen. There were times when she honestly did not understand either her husband or her son.

"Is it safe to come back to base now Daddy? Over," Frankie continued.

"Negative," Danny retorted. "Hold position. Over."

"Did it go FUBAR? Over."

Stopping short, Kara turned, raising an eyebrow at Frankie. "Do you know what that means?"

Biting his lip as he realized that he was in trouble - this was not the first time Kara caught Frankie using questionable language - he had no qualms throwing his father under the bus. "Daddy said I can say it when you aren't home."

"Did he now?"

Moving down the hall without waiting for an answer, she found her husband sitting on the sofa in the play room, video game controller in hand as he maneuvered around the screen. Kara didn't recognize the game, never having found gaming all that appealing despite Carlton's best efforts to convert her.

Catching sight of Kara in the doorway, Danny flashed her a grin. "Hey, you're home early."

Kara crossed her arms across her chest. "Really Danny? FUBAR?"

Unrepentant, he paused the game before crossing the room to plant a kiss on her temple. "Could be worse. At least I didn't teach him fuck."

Kara snorted. "Only because Tex did it first."

Laughing, Danny moved past Kara and scooped up Frankie who, predictably, had trailed Kara into the room. "Hey buddy, what do you think about making Mommy a nice, juicy burger for dinner?"

"Yeah, with shrooms!" Frankie replied.

"Mushrooms," Kara quickly corrected as they moved to the kitchen. When Frankie first started speaking, Carlton and Cameron found the misstatement hysterical, leading to Frankie continuing to use the incorrect pronunciation.

Danny smirked. "Think of the positive side."

"There's a positive side to my five-year-old swearing like a drunken sailor?" Kara asked dryly as she began unpacking groceries.

"Of course," Danny responded. He shooed Frankie out the door to the backyard. "Given all his bad influences, nobody's ever going to believe that you were the one who taught him to say goddamnit."
