"Good Morning Darling!" Adam whispered slowly waking Kim from her restful sleep. "Darling it's a big day. I need you to wake up please." He tried again rubbing her cheeks trying to wake her gently. He saw her starting to move a bit trying to snuggle into him. "I made you breakfast in bed." Maybe food would get her going. It was only 4:30am but today was an early day so he needed her to wake. He was happy to see the mention of food did in fact have her opening her eyes. "Thank you baby! I love you so much!" She leaned in for a kiss before sitting up to eat the food he had made her. "You are welcome. And I love you too. Just wanted to make sure you ate before the craziness ensues." He smiled at her as she ate with nothing covering her but the sheet. And even that only covered the lower half. "Are you excited for today? Or nervous?" He asked while she ate. "Not really nervous. Somewhat excited. It's not the first but this one is a much bigger campaign so I guess I'm worried it won't go well today." She shrugged a bit.
"You will do amazing darling! All you have to do is pose how they want in the clothes they want. You are naturally gorgeous so that's not an issue. Just show them talented you are and it will handle itself. You got this Kim!" He sat beside her moving her feet to his lap. Rubbing her feet working out all the tension in her feet. "I wish it were that simple. But it should be okay. I just need to pump myself up for it. I need to pump the music and start getting in the right frame of mind. Once I'm done eating I'm going to turn on the music and start showering. They will be here to set up at 5 and then they will do my hair and make up and I will get dressed in the first outfit. Hopefully you will be here for some of it." She looked hopefully at him. "Well I don't need to leave till 8am so I should be here for at least an outfit or two. How about I take your plates so you can jump in the shower." He offered taking the tray into the kitchen.
He heard the music turn on and turned up. He couldn't even hear the shower running with the music so loud. He smiled walking back to the kitchen to clean up after breakfast. He knew people would be arriving shortly to start getting the apartment ready for the photo shoot. After starting the dishwasher started running he started washing down the kitchen counter tops. He saw Kim walking around their room in her robe since it didn't make sense to get dressed just to change into the first outfit for the first round of photos. Plus they would be doing her hair and makeup so she had a few moments to relax before they showed up. "Baby could you come here for a minute?" Kim asked sheepishly. "Yeah what's up? You okay?" He walked closer to the room to see her shaking a bit. "Oh you're nervous! Oh darling! I got you. Being nervous is okay but you are going to be fine. You always are. Just show them how strong you are. You got this!" He held her tight kissing her head. She sighed contently but made no effort to move.
It was just about 5 when they heard the buildings door buzzer going off. The building had updated its security and everyone had agreed to not let anyone in that wasn't living there. Too many issues had come from the door buzzer not working and people letting others in. Once they verified who was at the door they buzzed them in. Adam opened the door allowing them inside. "Can you point me in the direction of the studio so I can start setting up? And the bedroom so they can get to work?" The photographer was a little brash but Adam just took it in stride. "Yeah the door behind the couch is the studio. And the bed room is through that door." He pointed and headed back to the kitchen to stay out of the way. He had no real idea how this all worked so he just decided to steer clear and let them focus on the job at hand.
The amount of commotion was overwhelming for him but he knew Kim would be worse. He stepped into the bedroom seeing her getting her hair done in her typical bun for work and her make up done at the same time. It was a flurry around her while she sat completely still. He took a few photos to capture the moment before lying back to look through his phone. Once she was finished getting prepped they gave her the first outfit. Adam chose that time to grab a shower and to get dressed. He took everything in to the bathroom with him so no one could see anything they weren't supposed to see. He let the hot water from the shower calm him knowing it would be a very long day ahead.
Kim was dressed and ready to start the photo shoot. They started with photos of her warming up, doing her stretches. Then moved into posing in different ballet moves. The next outfit was her doing yoga poses and on the Pilates machine. As she changed for the third outfit Adam was getting ready to leave for the day. Little did they know the photographer was taking photos of them together. Neither had agreed to those so it would be a fight later for sure but for now they were happy as Adam left for his shift. Once he was gone Kim was posed in their home. Cleaning the kitchen, doing laundry, making dinner, relaxing on the couch. The company wanting to be seen as not just dance wear but every day clothes.
Adam on the other hand was enjoying the text from Kim's assistant showing him what was going on, the behind the scenes if you will. He was smiling wide as he entered the bullpen. "Oh someone got lucky this morning already!" Kevin hollered getting the whole team laughing along. "Nope. Not at all, at least not like that. Kims photo shoot is today, like right now it's still going. Started at 5. Kaitlyn keeps sending me photos of how it's going. I'm happy seeing Kim in her element even if she was nervous this morning. She's killing it!" He passed his phone around letting people see the photos of Kim that were taken. "Looks great man. I'm no judge but she looks strong, on point, focused and crazy flexible. I had no idea she had her own Pilates machine. That thing is intense." Antonio handed back the phone. "Oh yeah twice a week she's on that thing. Wants to get me on it. Not sure it's my thing but I love watching her on it. The strength needed is insane." He replied sitting down at his desk. "That's for sure. I took one class and felt like jello afterwards. Never went back." Erin cringed at the thought. "Well I'm sure she would be happy to give you personal lessons in the off season. Oh also she has some classes she wants to try. Maybe you could go with her? I hate that she does classes alone so much." Adam sighed a bit.
"What classes?" Erin asked looking towards Jay first. "Well there is this bungee workout thing that she missed once already. A trampoline workout class, aerial yoga class which looks super crazy but cool, oh she loves the pole dancing classes. Says it's great for core strength and leg strength. Trust me she adds to the list often. She will try any class once just to change things up." He watched their eyes get wide. "Really pole dancing? Wow dude that's pretty intense." Jay joked heavily. "Hey I'm not complaining. When we were in AC and she took to the stripper pole with her friend it was a hot show for sure." Adam shrugged looking through his phone for the footage. "No one saw this! Got it!" They gathered around his desk to watch the video he took of Kim and Nicole dancing. "Oh hot damn! Yeah Er you should take that class!" Jay choked out. Everyone laughed as she smacked him hard. "He's just saying it could spice things up. That's all. It's not a bad thing Linds." Adam smirked knowing poor Jay was in for it later.
As the team settled in for the morning they were surprised by Platt arrived with three officers in tow. "So good morning! These three officers and many more will be making the rounds this week and the next few seeing how each unit works. We know how in the field training is better than just reading about it so I want you all to help them out. This is Upton, Rojas and Torres. I will leave you to it." Platt left after that leaving Voight to take over. "Alright so Torres I want you partnered up with Halstead, Rojas with Atwater and Upton you will be with Dawson. Everyone introduce yourselves before I brief you all on our next case." Voight gave them time to all shake hands and exchange pleasantries. They all noticed Upton checking out Adam and Jay as Voight spoke about the current case. "One last thing before we head out. The flirting, the undressing your co workers with your eyes ends now. That goes for everyone in this room. You three are here to learn not try to pick up dates." Voight barked loudly before dismissing them to do their tasks.
The team laughed as they headed to their assignments. Adam knew exactly what happened and didn't care. He got partnered with Erin for the day so he was thrilled. They worked well together. "Did you enjoy your boyfriend getting checked out by Upton?" He laughed seeing the daggers she was throwing his way. "Nope and I'm sure Kim would have hated it too!" She sassed back causing him to laugh loudly. "Yup already texted her the heads up!" He flashed his phone letting her see that he was in fact telling the truth. "Good for you." She just nodded as they continued to visit the witness. "And she just responded with thanks for the heads up. I will cut a bitch." The partners laughed as they continued their day. Luckily is wasn't the hardest case for the team. More like a warm up for the newbies but it was a good day. Adam was excited to know Kim's photo shoot was long over and she agreed to meet at the district before heading to grab drinks.
"Good Evening Sergeant." Kim smiled as she greeted Platt. "Well hello there. I assume you are here for Ruzek. I will buzz you up." Platt sent her on her way before too much fanfare. "You guys expecting anyone?" Upton asked from her chair by Dawsons desk. "Yup. My wife." Adam got up right away to greet her. "Hey baby! I take it you had a good day." Kim asked seeing him smile. "Absolutely. Better now though." He kissed her sweet.y before hugging her tight. It was strangely possessive but Kim knew exactly what was going on. She felt the daggers right away. As she pulled back she noticed the new faces and it clocked right away who was who. "Okay so you must be Upton right? Well look I get my man is hot and so are the other men in this room but you touch my husband or hit on him and I will break your face. I may look sweet and innocent but I can and will end you! Okay great!" Kim patted the side of Hailey's face before returning to Adams side. The room filling with laughter.
Upton was left stunned and maybe even annoyed but she tried to school her expressions. She didn't like being made to look like a fool. Kim was snuggled in Adams arms talking with Erin, Jay and Kevin. They all felt the energy change for just a brief second as they all pulled out their side arms protecting Kim. "Back off before you really get hurt. I get I embarrassed you but you did it to yourself but checking out your coworkers. And not so discreetly. I may not be a cop but I lived on my own long enough to learn a lot of things. Being non discreet will get you caught every time. In this line of work it could get in you killed. Be careful." Kim turned around to finish her conversation feeling Adams arms around her again, protecting her from the world. "I think it's time we head out. We need some drinks after that." Kevin offered knowing they all needed to leave and get some space quickly.
Kim never left Adam's side. It was warm and safe just what she needed after her confrontation with Upton. It felt good but also exhausting. She didn't have time for that shit really. As they arrived at Mollys they were greeted with the usual hellos from pretty much each person. Most had gotten used to her being around even if they never spoke. They took a table near the back making sure Kim had a seat to get off her feet. They literally could use all the rest in the world. "So how was your photo shoot?" Erin asked having no c,us about that side of the world. "Oh it was fine. Lots of hair and make up changes. Lots of outfit changes. Lots of poses. It's annoying after a while but I do appreciate it. And thankful for what it provides so I can deal with it." Kim shrugged really not loving photo shoots but that was literally the job. "Was it natural feeling at all?" Adam asked knowing her and how she felt about it. "Some times yes. They basically had me do warm ups and stretches and they took photos. That felt very natural. But the ones sitting watching tv, cooking food, doing laundry, even running, not so much. Oh and I did find out they took photos of us together and I already flipped and those won't be used. They will be given to me all copies and digital copies so it shouldn't be an issue on your end." Adam smiled knowing she protected him without him knowing there was an issue.
"Thank you for that. I appreciate it greatly. Last thing we need is for my face to be on a billboard." He kissed her showing his appreciation for her care and thoughtfulness. "Oh absolutely! I don't want you to have to change your career because of my job. That's not fair to you. So I do what I can to protect you. Even my business manager takes care of that shit without me asking. He doesn't even bring me things about you. He just replies no comment or threatens them to back away. Works really well by the way." She smiled seeing the shocked look on his face. "What you think people haven't noticed the ring on my hand?" They all laughed at his face knowing he never even thought about it. "Well I think we can all say thank you for that. One it keeps us all safe and secondly we don't need his ego getting any larger than it is." Jay laughed as Adam looked put off but knew it was very true. "Hey it's the least I can do." Kim laughed along with group really enjoying their company.
"Okay guys so Mouse has a birthday this weekend. I was thinking take him out to dinner? Maybe a club? Are you guys in?" Jay asked hoping to get it figured out before Mouse showed up. "What day? I work all day Saturday and we have plans for Sunday but those can be changed around to accommodate his birthday." Kim wanted to support Adam's friend who had really hooked her up with a state of the art security system. "Sunday works. Are you sure it's not an issue with your plans?" He asked seeing Adams raised eyebrows. "Well it's fine. I have my bridal fitting early. And then we have two activities planned with lunch and dinner but we can just do that restaurant another night. No harm no foul." Kim shrugged it off like it was nothing and maybe it wasn't. "You sure? You didn't call in favors for this did you?" He asked knowing her oh so well. "Nope didn't have to. If it had been a Saturday I probably would have been not normally on a Sunday. So yeah all good, really." She truly was fine with it if it meant doing something for someone else. "Great I will set it all up and get you the time for dinner." Jay was excited to celebrate his best friend's birthday.
"Thank you for that. You didn't have to change our plans." Adam whispered. "Really it's fine. I'm not upset at all about it. It really is fine. We can go there any night. The lunch is more important to me so really it's fine. I promise." She needed him to know they were fine. It wasn't an issue at all to her. She was just happy to be going out and having fun with Adam. She didn't really care what they did as long as they were together. "Thank you really. Any hints about our date?" He really was going to try to get the details. "Nope that my dear is a surprise." Kim laughed as Adam pouted trying to get information. "Adorable but still no hints!" She laughed louder as he pretended to be annoyed.
They never even realized the team watching them laughing along. Seeing Adam pouting was funny, knowing she was teasing him was even better. "You ready to head out? I still need to work out a bit before bedtime." Kim wasn't a big drinker anymore so while this was fun she had to work the next the day. "Yeah that's fine but you don't need to workout. You looked amazing. You are choosing to workout." He hated how much she worked out. "Maybe but I truly didn't get a workout today and I truly do need to be in shape to keep myself safe on my job. So working out is key." She rolled her eyes but there was no real bite behind them. "I know that but most days you workout twice with rehearsals and a show. It's okay to take a break." He urged her. "And I will on Sunday. There is your hint! Neither one of the planned activities is a workout." Kim laughed knowing she won the argument. "Fine can we compromise at least?" He watched her consider it. "No workout in your studio. We can workout in your room, or the shower." He watched her gulp before nodding eagerly.
The couple left shortly after to lots of hoots and hollering. Everyone knew what they were doing and why they were so eager to leave. The tension was stifling when the couple arrived home. Their hands roaming each other's bodies as they entered their home. "So what workout are we doing tonight?" Kim asked looking devilish. "Oh I don't know. Let's see what the challenge has in store for us." They both knew they would try most things but they also knew they would find things in the challenge they had done before. But it wouldn't stop them from doing it again. Adam stretched off the next circle on the board before looking at Kim almost laughing. "Well looks like to the kitchen we go. The beds way too low to do that. Let's go." She tossed her shirt on the way laughing hard when Adam grabbed her behind lifting her up carrying her to the counter top. "Our kitchen has never seen this kind of action but tonight I guess we make an exception. Though you are cleaning it afterwards!" Kim sassed not letting him even pout before pulling him into a steaming kiss. She was ready for more and needed it now.
