3rd Person (P.O.V)
Euphemia Potter-Black hurried out of Gringotts after cleaning out her vaults. Not that the money mattered but the weapons and books did. Plus what the vault's contain was her family's history.
She had her wand aim high as she hurry through Diagon Alley going through the chaos of inferi. She couldn't believe after everything she fought for the world ended either way.
She remembered that day when Luna appeared in Grimmauld Place. Telling Mia what was going to happen in a matter of weeks they needed to prepare then head for America once it started in order to save her daughter, Astrid's father.
It's been almost 5 years and it still hurt Mia to think of the love of her life Shane. She saw him in their daughter everyday. During a hard point in her life after the war being betrayed by her so-called friends, she traveled wanting to expand her magical training.
During her travels she stopped in Atlanta Georgia, and traveled to a small town called Kings County, where she met Shane Walsh who was a deputy but also a mundane.
Mia never cared whether her partner had magic or not. All she wanted was a drama free life as she raised her son Teddy who she blood adopted at less than a year old after his grandmother passed away.
Mia had the life she wanted. Unfortunately drama always finds a way to enter her life it came in the form of Lori Grimes. Oh, how she hated that woman who reminded her so much of her aunt Petunia.
Lori always found a way to comment on different aspects of her life anytime the two couples were together. The most uncomfortable aspect was their age difference as Mia was barely 19 and a single mom.
Mia knew Shane loved her, but sometimes certain comments always got to him. She always regretted leaving her love but she had a lot to deal with back in Britain thanks to Dumbledore as she was almost forced to marry Ron Weasley in the process, losing her friendship with Hermione, who was in love with the traitor.
Mia didn't tell Shane why she had to leave. All she did was leave a note saying she had to put a pause on their relationship as she had to deal with some things back home. She takes full responsibility if there was any blame, it took more than six months to repair the damage Dumbledore had done with her family legacy. She was already three months pregnant with her daughter who she hadn't known existed until she returned back to Britain.
She was happy she was putting things in order to return to Shane only to see him kissing another woman who had left his home. It broke her heart so she thought he was happy, and didn't want to ruin that. Mia returned to Britain where she would raise her children.
She knew one day she would have to face Shane as Astrid was his daughter as well, But she wanted to wait as she didn't know how he would handle the world of magic because of her experiences with mundane they don't take kindly to her kind. She let her fears get the best of her, not wanting her daughter to suffer even the smallest amount as she did as a child.
Mia was startled when her arm was grabbed and she was pulled into alcove. Her wand still in hand a spell at the tip of her tongue, her green eyes was met with dead brown ones. Her brain immediately recognize those eyes that belongs to her brother George as his eyes never shined after the loss of his twin brother Fred.
"George". Mia whispered as he gave her a sad smile. After the war George still continued his business but wasn't as invested anymore and became a recluse, cutting himself off from everyone but a few.
"Hey little sister". George whispered with his voice cracking.
"Why haven't you been answering my letters?". Mia asked her attention still on their surroundings. Ever since Luna had told her what was going to happen She did inform a few people so they could prepare, especially in Minerva McGonagall.
In the past two weeks, she hadn't heard anything from George. She even stopped by his shop when she entered the alley but didn't have any luck.
"I'm sorry Mia honestly I've ignored most of my mail the past month is just getting harder living without Fred. I welcome the idea of death but I know it wasn't what he would want. Plus someone had to protect you little sister". George whispered breaking his sister's heart.
"What changed your mind?". Mia asked still focus on the chaos around them.
"Luna sent Winky to knock some sense into me". George said as he rubbed the back of his head when he had been struck with a wooden spoon.
"Well if your ready Forge it's time to go". Mia said as she extended her hand to George, who took it without hesitation. She smiled at her brother before she apparited them out.
Mia and George appeared inside the Black ancestral home. The two were met with Mia's three house elves Dobby, Winky & Kreature running around. Winky had her baby elf Daisy strapped to her back as she was levitating books into a trunk.
"Mommy". Astrid called out as her auntie Luna let her go the four year old collided into Mia.
"Hey princess did you behave I was gone?". Mia asked she noticed Astrid had some green paint on her face.
"Maybe". Astrid said innocently.
"What did you do?". Mia sighed as even at the age of four her daughter was mischievous thanks to her marauders heritage. It also didn't help that her older brother Teddy also had marauders blood in his vein.
"I thought uncle dragon would like to have green hair". Astrid said innocently as Mia groaned as she was being glared by the angry Malfoy, who had entered the living room with Slytherin green hair.
It wasn't helping her case as her daughter gave her puppy eyes and she could hear laughter coming from George who winked at her daughter.
"Weasley don't encourage her. This is her fourth prank in the past week to me alone". Draco said irritated as his eye twitch.
Unfortunately the eye twitch was a recent occurring when living in the household that belong to the marauders. He was disowned by his parents for choosing to stand by Euphemia. In the past five years they've become close, almost siblings.
"Astrid sweetie we've talked about this. What do you say to uncle Dragon?". Mia sighed as she put her daughter down.
"Sowwy uncle dragon". Astrid said facing him with a pout on her lips and puppy dog eyes on full display.
"She's way too spoiled". Draco said as he hung his head. Astrid knew her uncle couldn't be mad at her for long as long as she used her puppy eyes.
Even at the age of four Astrid was smart for her age. She knew she could get away with things her puppy eyes even worked on her brother who had his own that sometimes helped him get out of trouble.
"Mom, uncle George". An almost 7 year old Teddy called out, running into the living room with Neville following behind him.
"Hey sweetie". Mia said as her son was in her arms, she kissed his forehead causing his usual blue hair to turn pink. "Is everything ready?". Mia asked her little sister.
"Ready!!". Luna said smiling as she looked off in the distance.
Mia smiled at her close family stood in the living room. All that was missing was Shane to be complete she has worked tirelessly the past couple of weeks getting everything they would need to survive.
Mia hoped everything would work out and she could one day build a settlement. She knew this was the end they would have to start all over as the world was taken over by the dead.
The family of seven and four elves were out of Britain before sundown with two children and four house elves inside of Mia's apartment trunk on their way to America.
