Weekend!
"Opera! Send the next wave," Izuku said while panting heavily. Right now he was standing in the middle of their mansion's underground training ground with a sweat-soaked black tank top and determined eyes.
Opera on the other hand was standing at the edge of the ground and next to him was a machine that could launch objects of various sizes at various speeds. Right now that machine was filled with volleyballs and was running at its maximum limit.
Upon getting Izuku's signal Opera activated the machine and eight balls were launched at the Izuku at top speed. Izuku studied their trajectory for a moment and then ran toward them. Then he came across the first ball and jumped over it, then slid under the second, narrowly avoided the third and fourth by squeezing between them, and then, 'Shoot Style: Lunar Air Smash,' he arched his leg back and performed a vertical roundhouse kick with 45% One for All, and fired a blast of compressed air at the balls causing them to fly back and hit the back wall.
'Great work there Izuku,' Nana praised him, 'and I must say Rumi's training must have been damm effective for you to remember everything about it,' Nana said and Izuku could feel the shit-eating grin she had on her face.
'Yeah, her style of teaching is quite effective,' Izuku thought with a strained smile but then an actual smile appeared on his face when he remembered their first meeting.
:-:-:-:-:-:
*Flashback*
It was two days since Izuku had returned from his solo run and right now was practicing his kicks in the gym gamma all by himself since his training partners were done for the day.
Then when he was getting ready for another round a woman with bunny ears approached him with a thoughtful expression.
"Hey Mirko, you need something?" Izuku asked.
Rumi stared at him for a moment and said, "your kicks are shit and your technique is dog water."
"Oh..ok," Izuku said as he was too stunned due to her blatant criticism.
"That's why I am going to take you under my wings and make you the second-best kicker in this country," Mirko said with a confident smile.
"Ok," Izuku absentmindedly said and then realized what she just said, "wait! Why?"
"Because you will be fighting in the front lines with me and I will not fight alongside some kid who can't even kick properly," Rumi replied.
Upon hearing that Izuku looked down and clenched his fists, 'she is right. I can't hold back people I am fighting with because of my inability to do something.' Then Izuku looked at her with determined eyes, "Mirko, please help me to improve my shoot style," he said and bowed to her.
Suddenly he received a smack on the head from Mirko's metal arm, "geez kid, relax! I said I will train you didn't I?" she said with an exasperated expression. Then her face softened as she ruffled his hair, "listen kid I know you have a world riding on your shoulders right now but you don't need to do everything all by yourself," then she looked into his eyes and flashed a confident smile, "and I don't care how hypocritical it sounds but you can count on adults around you to save your ass."
"Yes, Maam!" Izuku said with a smile and again received a smack from her.
"I told you to relax and also I am not good with formalities so just call me Rumi from now on," Rumi said and started walking towards the door, "your training will start tomorrow, same place same time," then as she was just about to exit the gym, a devilish smile appeared on her face, "by the way I noticed those bunny ears on your costume, they actually look quite cute on you," she said and left while laughing out loud leaving red-faced Izuku behind who was trying to form words from his mouth.
:-:-:-:-:-:
While Izuku was reminiscing the moments of his past, Opera walked towards him and offered him a towel.
"Izuku sama, that should be enough for today," Opera said as they looked around the training ground and saw various destroyed objects and volleyballs scattered around the field.
"Yeah, thanks, and sorry for the trouble," Izuku said and took the towel from their hand "So, you think I have a chance?" Izuku asked.
"We cannot say that for sure since we don't know who Ms. Ameri will choose as your opponent but looking at your fighting skills alone I can say that you will fair quite well," Opera said.
"Thanks," Izuku beamed at him, "I will take all the positivity I can right now."
Opera's ears twitched a little, "Izuku sama you should go and take a bath in a meantime I will prepare breakfast," and thus Izuku and Opera left the underground training ground.
:-:-:-:-:-:
"Good morning Izuku-Kun, how did your training go?" Sullivan asked as Izuku took his seat at the breakfast table.
"It was good I think. My movements are still a little rusted but overall it was a great session," Izuku explained.
"That's good to hear," Sullivan said as he took a sip of his tea, "so how are you going to spend the rest of your day?"
"Yeah about that," Izuku said as he started stuffing his mouth, "since we don't have school today, I was thinking of going through the study material that I got a few days ago. Other than that I don't have anything planned as of right now."
"In that case why don't you accompany Opera on his little trip to the Magical Street?" Sullivan asked.
"Magical Street?" Izuku asked as he asked for seconds.
"It is a shopping district which is located nearby," Opera explained, "I am going there to buy some things for the house, you can come with me if you want."
'Izuku. I think it's a good idea,' Nana suggested, 'accompanying them will allow you to learn more about the outside world and how the money works here.'
Izuku thought for a second and replied, "sure, I will join you," Izuku said.
"Excellent!" Sullivan said, "and while you are at it, shop some things for yourself as well."
"Even if you say that, I don't know what I should buy. I am pretty sure you have provided me with everything I will need for quite some time," Izuku said.
"In that case why don't you get a new uniform for yourself," Sullivan suggested.
"New uniform?" Izuku asked.
"I am sure you must have seen your peers use custom uniforms, why don't you get one for yourself as well," Sullivan said.
"Hmm sure why not," Izuku shrugged and then looked at Opera, "so when are we leaving?"
"Let's see," Opera placed a hand under their chin, "we can leave in an hour, and in the meantime, I will finish the reaming chores."
"Ok," Izuku said and turned towards Sullivan, "are you going to come as well?"
Suddenly gloomy rainy clouds appeared over Sullivan's head as he sulked on his chair, "I really wish I could come with you but I have important meetings to attend," he said, "but what if grandpa ditch all of those meetings and spend a day with his grandson."
"No, not happening," Opera immediately shut down his proposal, "I will accompany Izuku sama and you will go and attend the meetings."
"Opera you are too cruel," Sullivan hugged Izuku, "I want to spend time with my grandson."
"Sullivan-Sama, do you really want to set a bad example in front of Izuku-Sama by skipping your work?" Opera asked with a deadpan expression.
Suddenly Sullivan left Izuku alone and assumed a dignified stance, "you are right Opera, I will be the kind of grandpa Izuku-Kun will be proud of," he said and picked up his bag, "Izuku-Kun, Opera see you in the evening," he said and left the house.
"It must be difficult to take care of two children," Izuku said with an amused smile.
"It comes with a job description," Opera said while taking a sip from their own tea, "well then Izuku-Sama, see in an hour."
:-:-:-:-:-:
"Woh!" Izuku said as he first time witnessed the market of the demon world, "wow! There are so many unique things here!"
"That is to be expected since this is one of the biggest markets of the underworld," Opera explained, "now we will first go and issue an order for a new uniform."
"Sure," Izuku said. As they both walked through the Magical Street, Izuku took notice of the various items displayed outside the shops. What fascinated him more was the fact that many of them resembled items from the human world.
'There are a lot of things here that resemble the human world,' Izuku thought.
'Yeah, quite a lot actually,' Nana added, 'honestly if you drop any of these demons in our old world no one will even bat an eye or think that they don't belong in the overworld.'
'Well that only shows you how different two worlds can really be,' Izuku thought, 'makes me wonder if our world had something like netherworld as well.'
'I don't know but we already faced the worst demons that our world had to offer,' Nana said.
"Izuku-Sama, we are here," Opera said and stopped in front of a fancy-looking shop.
"Opera are you sure we should shop here?" Izuku asked, "this place looks quite expensive."
"Yes this place is a little expensive but that won't be a problem," Opera said in a tone that left no room for an argument, "also, as the grandson of Sullivan-Sama, you will have to visit many similar places in the future."
After that little conversation Opera and Izuku walked inside the store.
:-:-:-:-:-:
As soon as they entered the store they saw a fancy interior, various high-class clothes displayed on the shelves, and various employees attending to the customers.
One such employee walked towards them and greeted them with a smile, "hello esteemed guests, how can I help you today."
"We would like to get a custom uniform," Opera said.
"That won't be a problem, but I must warn you that custom uniforms are quite expensive," the employee kept her smile while saying that.
"Don't worry, you can send the bill to Sullivan -Sama's mansion," as soon as Opera mentioned Sullivan's name the color vanished from the employee's face as she looked at them with wide eyes.
Then she finally recovered herself and the smile returned to her face, "please wait here for a moment I will go and call my superior," the employee bowed and went inside.
After a few moments, the employee returned along with a black-haired, tall, suit-wearing woman.
"Good Afternoon, my employee here told me that you are associated with lord Sullivan, do you have any proof?" the woman asked.
"Yes, here it is," Opera said showing her the ring that had Sullivan's personal emblem on it, "I am Opera, Sullivan Sama's security demon and this is Izumu-Sama, his grandson."
Right as his name was mentioned Izuku walked forward, "hello ma'am nice to meet you."
"Oh my! Polite one aren't you," the woman said, "my name is Rose, and I own this store," then she turned around and addressed her employee, "you can go back to your position, I will take care of the rest."
After that, she asked them to follow her to the second floor. Once they reached there, she looked at Izuku and asked, "what kind of uniform you are looking for? Do you have something in mind?"
"Actually," then Izuku explained to her the concept that he and Nana came up with while they were waiting for Opera to finish his chores.
"That's actually a wonderful idea, we can work with that," Rose said and asked another employee here to take his measurements.
After they were done with everything she walked them to the door of the shop, "once we are done with the order we will send it right to the mansion," Rose said, "also, young sir I never got your name."
"Izuku Midoriya, thanks for helping us today," Izuku said.
"Don't worry it was my pleasure," Rose said producing a card out of nowhere, "here is my visiting card, remember me if you need something," she winked at him and went inside the shop.
:-:-:-:-:-:
Once they left the clothing store they wandered around the market and bought the various things that were on the shopping list. While doing that Opera also taught Izuku how the local markets and currency work, how to identify good goods compared to bad ones, and what kind of shopkeepers to stay away from.
"I had a lot of fun today, thanks for bringing me along Opera," Izuku said.
"I am glad you enjoyed your time here Izuku-Sama," Opera said and looked at the setting sun in the distance, "it's getting late, we should head back. I have to make preparation for dinner as well."
"In that case allow me to help you in the kitchen as a thank you for bringing me out today," Izuku said.
"That's a surprise," Opera said, "you know how to cook?"
"I mean I am not an expert or anything but I can make something if my life depended on it," Izuku rubbed the back of his neck.
"In that case, I will gladly accept your help," Opera said, "but be aware. The ingredients in the netherworld can be really unique."
And thus Izuku's weekend ended with a little bit of cooking and family time, before his big battle on Monday's Mock Battles.
:-:-:-:-:-:
While Izuku was enjoying his weekend with his family let's see what was going on in his friends' houses.
(Alice's house)
"Big brother, is so amazing," a little girl named Voile said, "isn't that right Lily?"
"Yeah, he is the greatest person in the world," Lily said as both sisters admired their big brother Asmodeus Alice training with his flames.
Suddenly an old demon in a butler uniform arrived there, "Alice-Sama, Lady Amaryllis is back from work and wishes to see you."
"Yeah, I will be there in a minute or two," Alice said as he launched another fireball at the target.
"Forgive me if I am being rude but Alice-Sama, you have been training for quite a few hours now, this much should be enough for the day, don't you think?" the butler said.
"Yeah David, I know ... just one last push," Alice said and produced one last fireball and compressed as much heat as he could, and lunched at the target which completely obliterated it.
"Yaaa!" "So Cool!" two sisters and Alice's biggest fans cheered him from the sidelines.
"That was quite a powerful attack Alice-Chan," suddenly Alice was tackled by a tall, beautiful woman with long pink hair, "I am really proud of you."
"Get off me Mother," Alice said as a tick appeared on his forehead, "besides, am I covered in sweat right now, do you not find that disgusting?"
"Darling, I am the one who gave birth to you so no, there is nothing about you that I find disgusting," Amaryllis said as she pinched Alice's cheeks, "but I must say, I have never seen you so passionate about training before, what changed?"
"Because unlike before there is someone who can actually compete with me right now," Alice said with a grin, "and I am not planning to lose to him."
"But how can someone compete with you? You are the best in the world right?" Viole asked and Lily nodded along.
Alice walked towards them, ducked down, and ruffled his sisters' hair "don't worry girls, I am going to work hard and keep my position as the best in the world."
Meanwhile, Amaryllis was looking at the scene with a warm smile.
"By the way Alice, what is the name of this new rival of yours?" Amaryllis asked.
"Why are you asking?" Alice narrowed his eyes at her.
"I am just curious you know," Amaryllis pouted, "I also want to meet the boy who changed my Alice so much."
"There is no need for you to meet him or any of my friends," Alice said, "still, his name is Izuku Midoriya and by the way, he is Sullivan Sama's grandson so don't try to do anything weird to him."
"Alice!" Amaryllis pouted, "please don't say something like that in front of my daughters. What if they start thinking bad things about me?"
"Don't worry mom, we love you!" Viole said and gave her mother a big hug.
"Yeah me too," Lily soon followed her sister and hugged her mother as well.
"I love you too my quiet little butterflies," Amaryllis said while Alice just sighed at his mother's antics and went to get freshen up.
(AN:- I don't know if those two little girls were Alice's real sisters or not but in this fic I just went with it.)
:-:-:-:-:-:
(Clara's House)
In the backyard of the Valac House, there was a huge farm cultivating various kinds of fruits and vegetables. And on that farm, Clara along with her mom was picking up vegetables right now.
"La~La~La~La," Clara cheerfully sang as she picked up another vegetable and put it inside the basket in her back.
Meanwhile, her mother was looking at her with an amused expression. Clara's mother knew that being cheerful and energetic was part of their bloodline but as a mother, she could feel that for some reason her daughter was even happier in the last few days.
"Clara, did something happen?" Mrs. Clara asked, "you look a lot more cheerful than usual."
"Really?" Clara tilted her head, "I am just happy that I will get to play with Azz-Azz, Eo-chan, and Izu-kun tomorrow," Clara explained, and her explanation really surprised her mother because Clara had never mentioned her peers at home before.
"Clara, who are these people?" Mrs. Valac asked and immediately a different kind of glow appeared on Clara's face as she started telling her about them.
"Azz-Azz is really strict and scolds me sometimes but he never says mean things to me or tells me to go away even when Izu-Kun is busy with something else."
"Eo-chan is really nice too. She brings me sweets and talks to me about various clothes and takes pictures of me," then Clara took out a phone from her pocket and showed her the pictures that Eiko had taken of her.
"Ohh! And then there is Izu-Kun and he is like the best you know," now the glow on Clara's face was tripled, "he is the first person who actually played with me. He lets me ride on his back and doesn't get angry when I play pranks on him and-" and just like that Clara started telling her many things that she and Izuku did in just past week.
Finally, after a few minutes, Clara stopped but the glow on her face was still there.
"I guess you finally found the people you belong to," Mrs. Valac said with a warm smile, "in that case why don't we invite them to our house next time all of you have free time."
"Really!?" Clara excitedly asked.
"Of course dear," Mrs. Valac said and then, both of them went back to picking up vegetables.
:-:-:-:-:-:
(Eiko's house)
The sun was already set and two moons were lighting the Neterworld's night sky. And under that sky was Eiko Oni lazying in her room while reading a book when her mother yelled from downstairs, "Eiko, you have a guest."
'Guest? At this time?' Eiko thought. She then went downstairs and was greeted by a familiar face, "Gaako! what a surprise," she ran to her friend and gave a big hug to her, "wait! Why are you here at this time?"
"Well, I was busy going through the study material and some other stuff," Gaako said.
"Eiko, you can learn a thing or two from her," Eiko's mom passed an off-handed comment while sitting on a couch.
"Come on dear, it's only the first week of school, don't be so hard on her," a man yelled from the kitchen.
"Dad! You are home already? And how was business today?" Eiko asked.
"Well business was as usual," the man shrugged, "it's not like anything interesting happens at the diner anyway."
"Ok," Eiko nodded and looked at her friend, "so how is school treating you?"
"Good I guess, nothing exciting like your class," Gaako said with a bitter undertone in her voice.
"Well, what kind of class you are in Eiko?" her mom asked.
"Misfit Class," Eiko casually replied.
"Misfit Class? What kind of name is that?" Eiko's mom raised her brow, "also what did you do to get yourself landed in such a strange class?"
"Maybe because kind of people she has been hanging out with lately," Gaako said.
Eiko turned around and looked at her friend with wide eyes, "Gaako what are you saying? You know Izuku and others are not bad people."
"I don't know ok... I just don't want you to get left behind when they move up in their lives," Gaako said.
"Ok wait a minute! What is going on here?" Eiko's mom stood up from the couch, "Eiko, are you in bad company?"
"Of course not mom. Izuku saved my life on the first day of school and Azz even apologized to me for that incident. And Clara is Clara, she can't be a bad person," Eiko defended.
But her mom just ignored her and started at Gaako, "who are these people she is talking about?"
"Izuku Midoriya is Sullivan Sama's grandson and Azz is Asmodious Alice," as soon as she said those names, Eiko's mom paled and dish shattering noise could be heard from the kitchen, "Izuku did save her during his fight with Amsodeus when one stray attack was going to hit her. But it was their fault, to begin with."
"And... this Clara girl?" her Mom asked.
"Clara Valac, she is an idiot," Gaako said,
"Take that back," suddenly Eiko glared at her friend, "Clara might do some silly things every now and then but she is definitely not an idiot."
"Ok sorry, I take that back," Gaako said, really taken aback by this sudden hostility.
"Also Gaako, please leave," Eiko said still keeping her glare on her, "I don't want to talk with someone who is bad-mouthing my friends"
"But..." "Just go, I will talk to you later."
Gaako put her head down and left their house.
"Eiko come here for a moment," her mom called her and asked her to sit beside her, "listen it's not like I don't trust you or anything but are you sure you are not associating with bad people?"
"Mom, trust me they are really not bad people," Eiko said, "I mean Izuku does sometimes do absurd things but that's just Izuku being Izuku."
Eiko's mom looked into her daughter's eyes and didn't see a single shed of doubt in there.
"Fine, I won't stop you from hanging out with them but if they ever did anything bad to you just come to me ok, I will show them a mother's wrath no matter who their parents are," Eiko's mom said.
"Thanks, mom, you are the best," Eiko said.
"Yeah, yeah stop buttering me and go call your brother for dinner."
:-:-:-:-:-:
And thus the weekend passed and now it was time for the Mock Battles Exam.
:-:-:-:-:-:
(AN:-Ok, so two things.
First, there will be slice-of-life chapters every now and then so if anyone is not a fan of those sorry for that.
Second, I know many people don't like OCs but I am trying not to rewrite Iruma-Kun's story with Izuku's skin so there will be few Ocs in the story and I hope you will like them.)
