Omake: Fire Drill

'Class 1-A.' A wicked smirk is painted across Neito Monoma's face as he stalks the empty halls of U.A. high school. 'They're known as the cream of the crop. The best and the brightest. The Rising Stars of the Hero Program. Such delusions. But I know the truth. And I alone will expose them for what they are. They're nothing but a gang of shameful egotistical charlatans!' He almost bursts into maniacal laughter while still monologuing to himself. 'How do I know this? Well it's because I have taken it upon myself to ensure that these undeserving showoffs don't cause any more problems than they already have.'

[FLASHBACK]

"Everyone, please settle down and listen!" Tenya Iida shouts while trying to address his fellow classmates. "This is unbecoming of those in the Hero Course, please!"

But nobody listens as they continue to chitchat in their own little groups, goofing off and not at all paying attention to his presentation.

"Everyone please listen, this is very important!" Iida slaps his hand against the screen presenting his Fire Drill Safety PowerPoint. "This can save your life so please!

While he tries to sort his classmates in order, no one has a clue about the unsettling fact that Monoma is watching them from inside the vent just above the classroom. His body squished and pinned inside like a stuffed pillow in a tight tube.

[End of FLASHBACK]

'Yes, I know it's risky but who else is daring enough to take on such a responsibility?'

Monoma smirks before internally declaring. 'I am, that's who! And today's the day to show the entire school what they really are. Today Class 1-A, the entire school will see first hand how you all react to a real emergency! Mwahahahaha!'

First thing's first, Monoma slides his hand down Class 1-A's classroom door, welding it to the frame thanks to Awase's Weld Quirk. 'Step one, seal them inside. Complete! On to step two, simulate a fire.'

He takes a torch that he borrowed from that crazy pink-haired girl from the Support Department and ignites it against the doorknob, causing it to glow red from the heat. He then hurries off to the classroom's second door and does the same thing before running off again.

He enters the next room over where a bucket filled with flammable materials is waiting for him. He takes his premade bucket and slide sit up into the open vent before taking the torch and lighting the kindling inside.

He grins maniacally as the smoke begins to drift towards 1-A's classroom. 'Things are about to heat up Class 1-A. Think you can handle it?'

He rushes back out, pressing his ear to the door, listening, waiting for the music to start playing.

He waits a minute for it to begin…and then another minute…and another to the point he's starting to wonder if they're even inside but then it all finally clicks into place as someone finally takes notice of the smoke entering the room.

"Oh, my god! Um, ah-Oh, my god!" Monoma can hear Hagakure cry out in freight. "Fire!"

"Woah!" Instantly he can hear everyone shooting out of their seats, he can even hear some of their chairs falling over.

Iida's voice instantly tries to reign in the panic. "Everyone remain calm and please follow the procedure!"

"Where's it coming from?!" shouts Tsuyu.

"Please, Follow the procedure!"

"Oh, my god!" Kaminari shouts, undoubtedly just waking up from a midday nap. "Okay, it's happening!"

"Everyone stay calm!" Bakugou shouts, Monoma can even hear small Explosions popping in his palms. "Everyone stay calm! STAY F*** CALM! EVERYONE FOR F*** SAKE CALM DOWN!"

"No! Kirishima, no!" Iida shouts. "Touch the handle and if it's hot there could be a fire in the hallway!"

There's a pause as Monoma hears what he thinks is Kirishima pressing their hand against the door. "What does warm mean?"

There's immediate panic from the other side as those Class 1-A buffoons struggle to save themselves.

Sero's voice calls out. "Midoriya! Midoriya! Turn into that water guy and help us out!"

Shinso is quick to respond. "He's not here! Remember, Thirteen asked him and Uraraka to come with them."

"Dammit! What about Todoroki?"

Tsuyu's voice croaks out. "He's asking Mr. Aizawa if he can stay here over the summer."

"Dammit!"

Tooru gasps. "Ashido, what are you doing?!"

"Gathering my stuff that's what!" Mina shouts back.

"Things can be replaced, Ashido!" Iida's voice loudly explains. "Everyone please follow procedure; this is a mighty poor showing!"

"Try the other door!" shouts Sato.

Monoma has to bite his lip to prevent himself from laughing as the class rush to the other door.

"AH! It's hot!" Mineta hisses out in pain.

"Okay, we're trapped!" Bakugou booms. "Everyone for themself!"

There is instant chaos as bodies rush around the classroom, knocking over books, chairs, and desks in the process as everyone fights and struggles to save themselves.

"Get out of my way! Get out of my way!"

"It's worse, the smoke! It's getting worse!"

"Cover your mouths! Use a rag! A wet rag-Gah!"

"Move it extras!"

"Meorw!"

"Shinso?! You brought your cat?!"

"I couldn't leave her at home, she's sick!"

"Meorw!"

Monoma is shaking with laughter, nearly bursting out as he hears someone sliding open one of the ceiling panels.

"Stay alive, I'm getting help!"

Jiro's voice calls out. "Sero! Pull me up!"

"You're too heavy!"

"No, I'm not!"

But Sero shuffles away without her.

Shinso's voice calls out. "Save Jiji!"

There's woosh and then a crash as the cat breaks through the panel and comes crashing back down into the room. "MEORW!"

"JIJI!"

There's more panic, and even Aoyama's crying. Call 911! Someone call 911! I am too fabulous to die!"

Suddenly tit sounds like more ceiling panels break apart and people start screaming. Monoma can only assume that they're watching Sero's feet dangle from the air as the smoke continues to pour in.

"Ram the door! Ram it!" Shoji screams out.

And then there's a sudden explosion and more screams as the door shakes and burns.

"F***, dammit!"

This is so great for Monoma. It looks like even the doors have been reinforced! So much so they can withstand a blast from that hotheaded bastard, Bakugou!

But it sounds like the windows are a different story as someone smashes them apart before Kaminari starts screaming out of them at the top of his lungs. "HELP! HELP!"

"I'm not dying here! I'm not dying here!" Tooru weeps as everyone continues to run around in a panic.

Others begin cry out too and even more of the windows get smashed in by the students throwing chairs and desks at them.

And it's at this point that Monoma is feeling a little guilty. Like he knew they'd overreact, but he didn't think it'd be like this. 'Oh, well, not like it can get any worse.'

"Everyone, I got it!" Kaminari calls out. "We need to jump for it!"

There's the sound of him taking a running start and leaping, followed by a chorus of horrified screams.

That's it, Monoma can't take it! Sure, he wants to humiliate them but they're gonna kill themselves at this rate! "NO!" He screams, unwelding the door and launching it open. "ARE YOU ALL INSANE!? YOU COULD DIE-Huh…?"

He blinks, stunned to find that the classroom is all in one piece. There's no smoke, no chairs or desks on the floor, and the windows aren't even smashed in. Heck, every member of Class 1-A is causally seated at their desks almost as if nothing happened.

The entire class looks up at Monoma, blinking up at him in confusion.

"Wait-what? How?!"

Iida gets up from his seat. "Monoma, what brings you here? Do you require something?"

"Yeah, an answer!" Monoma screams, his brain swirling with questions and theories. "Just what the heck is going on here?!"

Mina gives him a questioning look. "Um, class. What else would we be doing?"

"B-but there was a fire!"

"Fire?" The class all stare at each other in confusion. "What fire?"

Monoma can't believe this, his brain can't even process it right now. Did he just imagine the whole thing?! There's no way! He heard them! He heard them all! They-they went insane! He-he knows that!

While he's lost in thought, a cold indifferent voice causes a shiver to run down his spine. "What are you doing here?"

Monoma freezes, turning around to find one-annoyed Mr. Aizawa glaring at him.

"I-I-I-I-"

"You were disturbing my class." Aizawa immediately wraps the teen up in his Capture Scarf and squeezes tight. "If you have time to goof off then you have time to test out Nezu's newest obstacle training course."

"Obstacle Training Course" Monoma smirks nervously. "That doesn't sound so bad."

"Just wait until you see it." Aizawa smirks, his eyes glowing red. "He just added flamethrowers and other pyro-technics to the course. And we need someone to test it out."

Monoma's heart drops as Aizawa begins to drag him away. "No-please! Let's talk about this-Gleh!"

"Stop struggling. You're only gonna make this worse."

As Aizawa drags him away, Class 1-A smirk and silently celebrate their victory. And with their teacher gone they hurry to stash away the little panels of drywall, glass, and ceramic that Momo made for them to use.

They laugh and giggle as they stash away the evidence.

At the same time Izuku, Ochaco, and Shoto all appear from down the hall, watching their classmates smirk and laugh while Monoma gets dragged away.

Ochaco frowns, looking to the boys and wondering. "What do you think we missed?"

Izuku gives her a shrug while Shoto answers indifferently. "Who knows? Couldn't have been much. Not like there was a fire or something."

*UPDATE* So, this week did not work out and this weekend looks to be full too. But that said Ch.61 Freak Show should be ready for an April 22, 2022 post.
