Justice knew it was time to run. She heard police sirens in the distance and those guys from News channel probably were going to be at the old port any second. She knew that but she couldn't move. Everything they told about Batman was true. He was an extension of the night, he saw darkness and fear and in the same time his appearance was a blessing for those who were in need.

Justice tried to run from the car she was hiding behind to the nearest bushes and she thought she timed it right but she didn't make it. As soon as she started her sprint she was knocked out to the ground and held to the wall.

Who are you? – his voice was deep and quiet, his breathing was calm like he didn't fight with twenty guys just a minute ago.

Justice was wearing her white cape and her eyes and face was covered by it. She knew he was about to open it up. She didn't answer to the question and he didn't uncover her face.

Police sirens were so close, Justice could see how their light blinking out of the corner and reflecting in the water.

"He is going to give me to the police" – this thought entered Justice's mind unexpectedly.

He pushed her harder to the wall and Justice could see his massive jaw and white teeth from under her cape.

One more time I see you I give you to the cops.

With these words he let her go; Justice smashed on the ground but stood up right away. There was no Batman just burned cars, people on the ground and lights of ambulance and fire trucks. Justice escaped into the bushes by the time cops started walking around.

So many police cars she saw only in the police academy but that night it was different and she was on the other side of the law. She run through the ruins of the old port, over the broken fence back into the bushes next to the road where police cars were still flying to the scene. It became quite at some point and Justice decided to cross the road. She still was wearing her white cape, dress and boots. She got to go home fast until somebody saw her. She crossed an abandoned field and some empty streets. Running out of breath she crossed one more street and didn't see the car in a shadow. The car turned on right away and Justice heard it and run faster through empty houses deep in the alley in that case car couldn't go after her. She set down quietly next to a pile of old furniture stocked up in the alley. The car was black with two people on the front seat. Justice saw them staring in the alley and trying to see where she was but they couldn't.

Fuck we lost this bitch. Did you see, did you see her? Running across the street like a rat.

I saw… it was a perfect moment. I should go in the alley. Stop the car.

You are crazy. I won't let you go there on your own.

So? Let's go with me. We talking about my brother's honor here.

Look. I have a lot to lose.

Are you nuts? You are selling drugs and any time they can arrest you.

Yeh… They will arrest me; they won't kill me so I'm not going.

I go. Stop the car.

The car stopped and one guy exited the car and walked to the alley. Justice hid deeper in the alley

I want you to drive around this block see maybe she will come out somewhere.

Ok. Here. Take a gun.

The man walked right into the bushes of alley and started to walk towards a big pile of furniture.

"Great. That's what I need now" – thought Justice looking at the guy from the far.

She crawled up next to an abandoned shed next to a house. She was sure that the house was abandoned as well but suddenly the dog inside the house started to bark and then the other one and it was one in the shed as well. Justice got spooked and heard the guy behind her trying to climbed over the furniture. The light in the window turned on and a door made a squeaking noise.

Justice saw a dog came out on the porch and then the next one they smelled the air. Dog in the shad kept barking and the guy with the gun stood right next to it.

Bitch you are dead! – he creamed and shot the gun.

The dogs run from the porch down the ground barking and flashing their eyes with the green light of the moon.

Justice jumped on the fence and climbed over she kept hearing shooting over her head. She smashed on the ground, jumped and run. Run across the next street but there was that car cruising around the block. The driver saw her and pressed the gas, one moment and Justice was on the ground but she heard some scream from that house. The car didn't stop for Justice but pulled up to the drive way of the house with dogs. Men's voices trying to stop dogs but those got wild and at that point were tearing apart the guy with a gun.

How she got home Justice didn't remember until she walked to her kitchen. She just hoped nobody was following her. She remembered her running down the dark street after the car hit her but when she got home she was bewildered how she could run at all. She got a penetrating gunshot wound in her right leg and her right side of the body was plum blue from the car hit. She felt a broken rib inside her.

She did her best with the wound and got some antibiotics from a top shelf in the kitchen. She lay down on the floor in the living room and passed out.
