Chapter 4 Wild Welcome

Dante, Nero, Trish, and Lady rode their motorcycles, until they reached the edge of Silverburg. The once grand city laid in ruin with greatly damaged buildings and streets full of broken and abandoned cars. The area surrounding the city was a bare and ravaged desert wasteland. Santa and the others rode their motorcycles towards the city. As they got closer the devil hunters noticed that there seemed to be something large moving beneath the ground towards them at a fair speed. The object was a few yards away, when it revealed itself by bursting out of the ground and lunged towards Dante and the others.
It was a demon called Ashworm that resembled a large armored worm with spikes on it's back and a mouth full of fangs. Dante and Lady swerved to the right and Nero and Trish swerved to the left to avoid the Ashworm as it flew by and dove back underground.
"Well that's one heck of a welcome wagon." Said Dante.
"Looks like we have more company." Said Lady pointing at the city as several beings exited the city and headed their way.
The newcomers were called Abyssal Riders and they resembled large grey armored knights with swords riding skinless demonic horses with fangs with a trail of blue flames. The Abyssal Riders lifted their swords and charged at the devil hunters.
Trish wiped out her guns Luce & Ombra, Lady pulled out her machine gun, Nero pulled out his gun Blue Rose, and Dante pulled out his guns Ebony & Ivory and they all began shooting at the onrushing demons. Several of the Abyssal Riders were immediately killed by the shots, but more kept coming. The devil hunters stopped firing their guns as Dante and Nero pulled up ahead. Dante pulled out his sword Rebellion and Nero pulled out his sword Red Queen and the two of them drove forward slashing their way through the Abyssal Riders clearing a way for them and their female companions. The Abyssal Riders snarled in rage and took off after the devil hunters as they continued towards the city.
The ground before the devil hunters exploded again as the Ashworm reappeared and tried to eat them again. Dante and his allies swerved out of the way along with most of the Abyssal Riders, though a couple of unlucky Abyssal Riders ended up being swallowed by the giant worm demon.
"Hey Lady remember when we watched all those Tremors movies?" Asked Dante.
"Yeah they were dumb, but I think I know where you're going with this." Said Lady as she prepared some grenades.
"We're going graboid hunting!" Whooped Dante.
The Ashworm burst from the ground again and Lady tossed the grenades into it's mouth as she and the others dodged out of the way. The demon went back underground again, but a few seconds later it burst right out crying in pain as fire and smoke bellowed from it's mouth. Lady pulled out her rocket launcher Kalina Ann and fired a rocket at the demon striking it and rocking it back. Dante and Nero then jumped from their bikes and struck the Ashworm with their swords, killing the beast, and sending it falling and crashing onto some of Abyssal Riders.
With the Ashworm and most of the Abyssal Riders dead the devil hunters headed on into the city.
