On the evening the same day when all three bridges collapsed, after a news report went life, Logan finally got left alone in his own house. He found himself wondering about Justice, he had an urge to call her and just talk about what happened in the city but every time he was about to make a call he stopped himself. "Well, she is probably busy" or "I better see her tomorrow in the library" or "It's kinda late" those thoughts were emerging in Logan's brain every minute or so. Finally he calmed himself down and decided not to call to anyone, he turned off his phone and lay on a couch starring at the ceiling.
Events of the last days rushed to his memory drawing pictures of a train station, a car and his sister, going further back, he remembered talking to police officer next to the chemical plant entrance, he remembered Patrick Wilson…
To scare away horrifying thoughts Logan decided to take a walk. It was dark and gloomy outside, rain just ended leaving big dark puddles on the sidewalk.
Logan took a walk towards the Zone's bridge, it was fresher air next to the river. One side of a river walk was separated from the rest of it by a yellow police tape. The spot where the bomb went off killing fish and splashing a walk path with water. Logan came closer to the river and saw some fish still floating on the surface. Fish's dead eyes were starring in the dead dark sky. Logan shook his head to avoid bad memories which started to crawl inside of his thoughts again.
He looked at the bridge. First he didn't see much, the bridge still had an electricity but very dull and faded in the night fog. The bridge was closed off from both sides with gates so no cars could drive over it.
Suddenly, Logan saw a movement on the bridge. First, he thought his eyes were lying to him but after some time he saw clear somebody was walking on the bridge. Somebody in a white cape.
"White Shadow" - whispered Logan.
His first decision was to take the phone out of his pocket and start a video but then he remembered he left it at home. He watched the figure vanishing into the fog and thought:
"The question is why she is walking over to the Main Land… is she leaving the Zone or she is meeting with somebody?"
Logan saw White Shadow disappearing in the darkness of Main Land.
-Hmm… What if the bomb wasn't just felt in the water… What if it was thrown down there.. by her? - Logan walked back and forth on the river walk for the next two hours.
He finally got tired of thoughts and mysteries, he decided to go home and try to sleep. He slept bad that night, nightmares and messy thoughts followed him all night long. Logan managed to fell asleep at around five in the morning but he had to get up at eight. He was tired and broken his red eyes were watery and his hair didn't want to listen to a brush. He turned on a TV to see the latest news and to find out that the City of Gotham was under lockdown by national guards because of a national threat of some unknown dude who got responsible not only for destroying bridges but also for poisoning the city environment for the last ten months causing people to get sick, develop cancers and die from longs failure. His picture was right there on the mornin show screen. Skinny long horse looking face with sculptured jaw line, big, light blue, almost white eyes and bushy eyebrows. His hair wasn't long or too short either. Logan stared at the picture trying to remember where did he see that face, those big blank eyes staring in nothingness. "Patrick Wilson photo book from his orphanage… that child was on that picture amongst the rest of the students." - Logan remembered that child was in the left upper corner of the students' stand and a reason why Logan remembered him was because of his long face and dead fish eyes. "Madness. It's all madness" - Logan shook his head. - "I wonder if Elle will remember him because she also looked at that picture, in Wilson's house?" - with those thoughts Logan got dressed.
He wanted to see Justice and listen to her thoughts about everything what was going on but when he first got to the library he found out that Justice got sick and had to stay home. Librarians were very scared and upset about the city lockdown. They had a suspicion that the library may be closed for a time being until the issue with bridges would resolve. Logan was waiting for his crew to come in, they had to discuss their strategy and next news location. While waiting Logan decided to look for some interesting books and his search led him to a crime section. One book stood out amongst the others. "Criminal behavior triggered by stress and childhood trauma. How to recognize a serial killer in a mirror". The name of the book reminded Logan about cheap TV shows about crime, maniacs and psychos. But he decided to check this book out and a librarian said that it was a good book regardless its very stupid cover.
Returning to the meeting room he was pleased to know that everyone was already present and they could begin discussions. Logan carefully put his new book in a backpack focusing on the job what laid ahead of his team.
