Chapter 19 Gluttony

Near the harbor, Dante and Trish fought their way through some lesser demons to a large warehouse on the docks. Dante sliced the door to bits before he and Trish entered the lair of Gluttony. The two hunters walked down some hallways and entered a large room that had rows of fancy tables piled high with all sorts of food, but there appeared to be no demons or Gluttony hanging about. Dante saw a pizza on one of the tables and was considering grabbing a slice, when he heard a voice he hadn't heard in a really long time.
"Come take a seat son, it's been a while since we had a family dinner." Said Sparda in his human form sitting at the table.
"Pops..." Said Dante
"Oh it's so nice for all of to be here together." Said Eva as she came over to the table to set up some plates.
"Mom..." Said Dante.
"You're late brother." Said Vergil as he appeared at the table.
Dante looked at his parents and brother. Deep down he knew none of this was real and that this was all an illusion, but a small part did wish this was real. Dante let out a sigh as he instinctively dodged out of the way of a large claw-like appendage that was sticking out of the ground. The limb was large with four curved claws/fangs on the top, bottom, and sides. Dante fired a few rounds at the limb, but they just barely scratched the claw/fangs. The claw/Fangs opened up to reveal a grotesque green obese demon fused in the center with four green eyes, a large mouth with fangs, and a bigger fanged mouth in it's stomach. There were also three large mouths on the claw/fang sides and top, each of which had a long tongue with spikes. This creature had to be Gluttony.
"You broke through my illusion!" Snarled the demon.
Dante looked at the demon and then glanced back at the tables, which were piled high with old food and human remains. Sparda, Eva, and Vergil were nowhere to be seen.
"Really not much of a illusion, if I could see right through it." Said Dante.
"You should have remained in your desire child of Sparda. It would have been more merciful then what I'm going to do to you and your little friend." Said the demon.
"So I take it your Gluttony." Said Trish.
"I am the great Gluttony and I will disembowel you both and let you watched your guts spill out in front of you." Said Gluttony.
"Yes master! Make them suffer!" Laughed Cassus as he stepped out from behind a wall.
"Still see that jerk still ticking. Thought for sure your boss would have made a meal out of you." Said Dante.
"I consider it, but I am a merciful demon. If Cassus helps and defeats you, he will be spared and I shall be satisfied. The blood of Sparda and the blood of a demon shall be very delicious." Said Gluttony.
"Jokes on you pal. The food is going to fight back. You're going to regret pulling that little illusion stunt of yours." Said Dante as he took on a fighting stance.
"I shall take great pleasure in feasting on your flesh!" Declared Gluttony as he lunged towards Dante.
Dante jumped out of the way and slashed at Gluttony slicing his left arm leaving a scratch across his hide. Gluttony responded by shooting a long tongue out of his side mouth that knocked Dante back. Trish prepared to fire some lightning at Gluttony, but Cassus ripped the flesh of his belly open and fired a blast of red blood colored liquid at Trish forcing her to dodge out of the way. Cassus laughed as he prepared to fire some more blood at Trish, but she rushed him and delivered a roundhouse kick to his head knocking the fat demon to the ground. Trish was about to continue attacking Cassus some more, but the demon unleashed a puddle of red liquid onto the ground forcing her to jump back as Cassus got to his feet.
"I'm not going to go down that easy!" Sneered Cassus as he charged at Trish.
"I wouldn't expect you to, but I'm not someone who will go down easily." Said Trish as she unleashed a blast of lightning at the demon.
It slammed into Cassus making him scream and fall to the ground in a heap. Trish looked at the fallen demon and turned her attention to Dante and Gluttony.
Gluttony was firing globs of green acid spit at Dante, who dodged and fired his gun at the demon striking him. The demon lunged at Dante striking him with his clawed hands and tongues. Dante deflected the claws, but one of the tongues wrapped itself around Dante's right leg and hurled Dante into the air. Dante flipped through the air and Gluttony lunged at him intending to crush him with his jaws and fangs. The hunter just smirked as he hurled his sword into Gluttony's belly mouth! The sword went through the mouth and out the back making Gluttony screech in pain as the sword hit the ground and became imbedded in the ground. Dante punched Gluttony in the face knocking several of his teeth out and pushing him back, before he landed on the ground and picked up his sword.
"Ready to call it quits big guy?" Asked Dante.
"Never!" Yelled Gluttony as his wounds began to heal.
"Why don't we cut to the part where you show us the rest of your body then, so we can finish this." Said Dante.
"With pleasure! Now you shall behold my real power!" Declared Gluttony before his claw/fangs closed around him and he began to slam himself onto the ground.
Cracks began to spread across the floor and then the whole thing collapsed causing Dante, Trish, and Cassus to fall into the waters below. Gluttony and the limb retracted into the water towards a enormous shadowy shape that opened four large yellow eyes that had a hungry look in them.
