Hey guys, hope you're having a good day. Striker777 here with the next chapter of Loki's Renard. This is the beginning of a four part mini-arc centred around Akihide's introduction to Evilus, as well as some other major elements in the story.
Guest: One day, my friend. Maybe not for a while with how I'm planning this story out, but you best believe there will be some hilarious interactions between the three of them.
razorhusky234: Thanks man. I'll be continuing it in the next chapter as a collection of omakes. Might dedicate another fic to it later if I feel like it.
reptoholic: Thanks for all the support man. Looking at your reviews gave me a smile and a few giggles. Fret not when I say there will be quite a few unique aspects to Akihide that will distinguish him from others, and he will not be a supporter. Maybe for a few of his first expeditions to the deeper floors, but he'll mainly be a vanguard as well as a buffer and healer.
MC-Ramen-Sensei: I'll keep getting them out just for you mate!
NieBieskiLis: Now now buddy, if you think Ais' suitors are going to have a rough time, just imagine Riveria's suitors. Oh, that would be a shit storm. Anyway, Akihide is going to force Ais out of her shell more and become a bit more proactive and emotive, so we'll see how that plays out for her relationship with Bell.
Anyway, onto the story!
Akihide looked around the entryway of the Stardust Garden apprehensively. He was so nervous, and was fiddling with gear. His tantō were in his hands, still sheathed but were being shaken between his fingers as he nervously awaited his teacher and party member. Megami no Hana was laid next to the couch, resting against one of the coffee tables that the Astraea Familia decorated their home with, and resting next to it atop the table was Utsukushī-me, resting in it's sheath. Akihide looked over his gear once more, looking at his weapons, his potion supply and his armour, before deciding all was well and waited patiently once more. But he wasn't waiting to go into the Dungeon.
Lyra, one of the key strategists of the Astraea Familia had come down with a sudden case of food poisoning and was bedridden for the next few days. That meant that someone would have to take her place on patrol during the day, but the Astraea Familia simply didn't have the numbers with their rotations and making sure everyone was as prepared as possible in case something went wrong on patrol.
So, hearing about this unfortunate set of events, Akihide volunteered his services to the Astraea Familia and said he would help patrol in Lyra's place.
After almost half a year of being an adventurer, even if there were a few times Akihide wasn't doing much adventuring, he had certainly gotten a lot stronger, the strongest child in the world, many reckoned. Akihide had not progressed further down the Dungeon than Floor 10, either with his Familia, party, or Ottar. He was beginning to slow down once more with gaining status and Excilia, but he was so close to hitting his goal of one stat in A to head down to Floor 11 and 12, he was willing to wait around and farm a bit more on Floor 10 to improve his skills. He was close to, just over 30 stats off his mark, which he was expecting to get in the next month or even sooner than that. But in the mean time, he was still stuck on Floor 10 with his party.
He had improved in party rankings too. He had finally outmatched everyone in his party with his agility stat, being 4 points more than Ryuu's own at 765, and had gained a lot of practice with his new weapons thanks to Kaguya training him once more (or beating him into the ground for doing something as stupid as going to a lower floor in the Dungeon with a complete stranger), but it had been a valuable experience that simply cemented something Ottar had theorised.
Akihide Okami was a prodigy at being an adventurer.
It was true. He was certainly no Alfia, the Incarnation of Talent, who could instantly replicate and master any move she saw a single time, it took hard work for Akihide to get his moves down, but he had a certain spark that made him better than most other adventurers. No one could really place what it was exactly that made him that good, but he was good. He quickly adapted to situations, and if he wasn't completely outmatched in every aspect, he could more often than not pull out a win. He had won in friendly spars against Ardee and Ryuu before, both of whom have bigger stats than him as well as more experience, but he was somehow able to mitigate the reach of their weapons and knock them down.
Reflecting on that is what made Alise and Kaguya decide to bring him along and let him patrol with them. But of course, Alise had to make it so that she was the sole reason that he had decided to come with them, and not the million other reasons, such as boredom, desire to grow stronger or simply wanting to help people. No, it was all Alise Lovell. "Hehehe! I managed to get one of the Loki Familia's members so excited about justice that they're going on patrol with our familia. I'm one step closer to perfection!" she sang out, much to the annoyance of Ryuu, Kaguya and Lyra herself, who threw a pillow at her head and ordered that she shut up.
So, whilst everyone else got ready, Akihide was left alone in the waiting room where Loki had once tickle-assaulted him. He shuddered at the memory before trying to brace himself for what was bound to be a new experience. It was nerve racking, thinking about how he would be responsible for the safety of all of Orario today, and that his actions would bring about a new era of peace for the Dungeon City Orario. Before he did, though he was briefed on why the Astraea Familia, as well as the Ganesha Familia patrolled the streets.
Evilus. A group of terrorists that desired nothing more that to see Orario become a place of death and destruction, wishing only to see the entire world engulfed in flames. They wanted chaos in the streets of Orario, and would attack innocent civilians and citizens to try and further their cause and bring despair to Orario. That was why they patrolled the city, to deter Evilus from attacking people as well as to give the civilians hope that they will be protected in the event of an emergency. Kaguya had warned Akihide that Evilus would not hesitate to kill him, and in return, he must not hesitate for the slightest instance either. He had to kill them if it came to that.
Akihide nodded to himself, prepared to do whatever it took to keep Orario safe. He was not going to lose another home, not to a monster, to a group of evil thugs or to anything else. He was going to fight for his home.
The door opened and Akihide jumped in his seat, getting a giggle from the goddess of the home, Astraea. Akihide calmed down a bit, seeing as he still had some time to collect his bearings and get over his nerves before he set out on patrol. Astraea made her way over to the boy and sat down. "Nervous about your first patrol?" she asked in a soothing voice. "I know it can be quite daunting for the girls, especially their first time. Ryuu was a stuttering mess when she went on her first patrol."
"I'm fine." replied Akihide with a heart warming smile that spilled confidence. "I'm just wondering how it's going to go for my first time. I'm gonna be fine."
"Are you telling me that, or are you telling that to yourself?" asked Astraea with a teasing grin, putting her hand atop the boy's head and gently rubbing it. "I feel like a mother watching her child go to his first day at school. I never get over this feeling of joy watching children grow up. I'm so proud." she gleamed at the child.
A voice cut in. "You can be proud all you like when he comes back in one piece." said his teacher, walking out in her battle kimono, with all her weapons at her side ready for use. She turned to her student. "We have quite the day ahead of us. We don't expect anything to happen today, but be on guard and be ready to jump into action at a moments notice. In these times, the streets of Orario can be even more dangerous than the Dungeon itself. It's rare, but it happens."
Akihide nodded, strapping his weapons to his body, his katana to his side, his wakizashi just below his sword and both his tantō in their usual spot just on the small of his back. "Ready." he says, as he, Kaguya and Ryuu step out. With a final word to Astraea, the three set out on patrol. Astraea smiles at the door and whispers her usual encouragement.
"Be safe, you three."
The three on patrol took a route through the north-west section of Orario. Akihide looked around the area, searching for anything that seemed out of place or that shouldn't be there, taking his job extremely seriously. Kaguya sighed, muttering something about stupid kids before pinching Akihide's human ear and dragging him along after staring at a back alley for too long. "I get you're trying to do a good job, but you're just slowing us down." she chastised the boy. "Just give everything one look over and leave the rest to the shitty elf and I."
"Shitty elf?!" demanded Ryuu, none to pleased with the choice of words her Vice-Captain used to describe her. Even through her green mask, one could clearly see her frown as she glared at Kaguya. "You'll just rush ahead and make a larger disaster if things go south, slowing us down further you hypocrite." she scolded.
"What did you just say to me, shitty elf?" muttered Kaguya, glaring at Ryuu.
"Don't call me shitty elf!" responded Ryuu, jumping at Kaguya as the two began fighting. Akihide simply looked on and watched as the two went at it, despite Ryuu being a level below Kaguya and nowhere near as experienced as her Vice-Captain.
"Is this... my fault?" he asked with a small sob. He was meant to be helping people, but he somehow made both Ryuu and Kaguya go at each other. His party member and his teacher were fighting and it was his fault. "P-Please stop fighting!" he called out, trying to break the two of them up.
"Shut the hell up, you idiot!" called out the two scuffling girls as they continued to fight, trading blows from their hands as well as their mouths as they continued to call each other names in the middle of their scuffle. Akihide simply stepped back and landed on his ass, looking on in horror as the two continued their fight.
"Aren't we meant to be protecting the city?" he muttered in a quiet voice, as he looked away from the two, unable to look at what they were doing because of him. "And I made them fight. I'm the worst patroller ever!" he cried out.
Some patted the top of his head. "There, there." said a soothing voice, and a familiar one. Akihide looked up at a smiling Ardee, equipped in her own gear. "This is normal for them. Just give my sister a few minutes to sort them out and everything will be okay again." she comforted the boy, before pointing in the direction of Ryuu and Kaguya. Both of them had stopped as Shakti began to lecture them about doing their jobs right.
"And look what you did to your teammate!" she yelled at one point, pointing over to him. "You left a child in tears, but not just any child, the teammate you were supposed to bring with you to keep the city safe! Honestly, it's a wonder Loki Familia allows him out at all without you two fighting in the middle of the street while you're supposed to be taking care of him!" she continued on lecturing. Akihide, embarrassed beyond all measure, moaned and crawled into a little ball. Ardee simply chuckled as she continued stroking his hair as a means to lighten some of the burden placed upon him.
Soon enough, Kaguya and Ryuu called him over. He stood up, still clearly upset about what had happened, tailed by Ardee with a supportive smile on her face like the kind girl she was. "Sorry about that, Akihide." apologised Ryuu, looking down in shame a bit. "It wasn't your fault."
"That's right." responded Kaguya, smiling at him in a mischievous yet gentle way if that was even possible. "Don't blame yourself for the actions of stubborn, shitty elves."
For that one, she received a slap upside the head, curtesy of Shakti.
"..." The Far East Princess readjusted herself before bowing slightly to him. "Sorry about that."
Shakti sighed. "Ardee will join you on your patrol just to make sure these two stay in line." said the Captain of the Ganesha Familia, turning to the boy and giving him a supportive smile. "Try not to let their actions get to you. A fight between Kaguya and Lion is basically guaranteed to happen when they go on a patrol together. It's really not your fault." said the eldest woman there. "Now then, continue to patrol your route without any more scuffles, or Lady Astraea will hear about this. Is that understood?" Shakti demanded of the two Astraea Familia members.
"Yes..." the two replied.
Shakti said a final goodbye to her sister before ordering her men to keep moving with their own patrol. Akihide looked back at the retreating form of Shakti before turning back to the others. Ardee smiled as she gripped Akihide by the shoulder. "Now you just let your big sisters handle this. You just try to copy what we do so you can do it yourself, okay?" she instructed the boy, who nodded. And with that, he went off with his three 'big sisters'.
Hopefully they were more successful at being an older sibling than he was.
She coughed once into her gloved hand, cursing her fate with this illness. Alfia sighed as she pushed her silver hair out from her face, watching the boy she had discovered a few months ago. By pure coincidence, she had managed to cross paths with him once more, and had taken to the rooftops of Orario to follow him as he patrolled the city. Alfia was confused as to why the young boy was patrolling when children his age should be playing and causing noise. But not him. He was causing noise, but it was not a noise she hated. She actually found it to be quite enjoyable to listen to, which reminded her of easier and simpler times.
The time she spent with Meteria in the church, or in their home with the Hera Familia.
Alfia's mind briefly wandered to the times she spent with Meteria, as well as their final few years together, before she unfortunately succumbed to her illness. She remembered her sweet tooth and how scary she could be when it came to her snacks, even scaring Hera herself at one point. She was also the one person or thing that Alfia accepted death from, prior to the black monstrosity. Not even the Monster Rexes she faced before gave her that sense of fear, nor the Behemoth or Leviathan. It was ironic, that the fear of death could only be placed upon her by the one she stole from before they were born. Without the talent that was stolen from her in the womb of their mother, Meteria was able to place true terror in the thief of talent, Alfia.
Alfia once more cursed herself, reminded of the fact that she was one of the reasons Meteria was dead and not raising her son, Bell. That brat with the disgusting eyes of that man, the only thing that tainted his perfect face that looked so much like Alfia. She had no right to judge him though, since she had refused Meteria's request to take care of him in favour of searching Orario for the next generation of heroes that could stand up to the only other thing that gave her that feeling of true terror, the One Eyed Black Dragon. She had watched her sister hand her son over to Zeus, the God of the boy's father, to be raised in the countryside away from Orario and all the dangers that came with it. Zeus had promised to take good care of her and that bastard Cranel's son.
But if this boy proved to be everything she though he was, then it would all be worth it. If the young renard, Akihide Okami, could be considered as the new hero that could defeat the One Eyed Black Dragon, and ensured Bell Cranel never had to pick up a weapon, then Alfia believed every decision she made to this point would be well worth it. She just had to make sure that the boy surpassed the level of the two monsters that harmed the giant dragon. The one who took the eye of the monster, Albert Waldstein, or the Nine-Tailed King who gave the monster the largest of scars that ran down the front of the chest and stomach of the beast. Whilst the stories were only told about the legendary exchange in the poetry of Wishe and Olna, Alfia has seen the scar first hand in her own confrontation with the monster. If that boy could reach the level of those two and surpass it, becoming a true hero, then the world would be saved and peace would be bought to the land.
Alfia noticed that Akihide had broken off from the group, catching everyone's attention as he ran over to the other side of the street. There, he helped one of the elder women up to her feet after a nasty fall. It was a nice thing to do, but it didn't really tell Alfia if her suspicions about the boy were right. It showed he had a good heart, but it took a lot more than that to be a true hero like the one needed to face the One Eyed Black Dragon.
Alfia sighed, contemplating simply leaving him for the day and returning to the church, when an explosion rocked the street not too far from where they were. She turned her head to the source of the explosion, noticing that it was about half a kilometre from her current location. She noticed that the boy had begun moving in that direction with the rest of the girls on patrol with him. She didn't see him hesitate as he ran towards the explosion, pushing past civilians as they ran for their lives. She figured she'd observe him more for a moment before deciding if he was the real deal or not.
When Akihide first heard the explosion, his first instinct was to run.
Not away from the explosion, he ran right at the point of origin, knowing that was where he was needed to save lives. He ran as fast as his legs would carry him, faster than Ardee or Ryuu, but slower than Kaguya, who was a level 2 and on a whole other level. He grit his teeth as he pushed through his limits and ran even faster, eventually making it to the point of origin of the explosion that rocked Orario. He came to a sudden halt and his eyes became shocked as he looked at the carnage around him.
There were bodies everywhere, littering the streets and painting it crimson red with blood. The street itself had been badly damaged, with rubble and burn marks everywhere, some of the rubble even having crushed some people under it as it fell. There were grievers everywhere too, trying in a futile and fatal attempt to awaken the dead, only to meet a similar end to the people in robes and cloaks rushing along and killing everyone they saw. Akihide looked upon the carnage, and briefly wondered if he was in the Dungeon and not in one of the many streets of Orario.
"Akihide!" called out Kaguya, snapping him out of it. "These people need our help. Treat the robed Evilus as nothing more than a monster! They deserve the same treatment as the monsters in the Dungeon! Kill them and keep the people safe!" she ordered as she drew her sword and rushed forward. 'I'm sorry...' she apologised to him in her mind as she slammed her katana into the chest of a member of Evilus draped in their black robes. 'If I knew this was going to happen I never would have bought you along on the patrol today. As a child, you should be allowed to keep your innocence for as long as possible, but that just isn't a possibility anymore. The needs of the people outweigh that right to innocence.'
Akihide heard nothing of her inner monologue, but he didn't need to. He didn't care about his innocence as a child, as far as he was concerned, he lost that when his village was destroyed. What he needed to do now was something no seven year old should ever be forced to do. He decided to kill for the sake of others. He lunged out at the robed figures of Evilus, laying his hands on his tantō. "Iai no Tachi: Futaba!" he called out, remembering the style of iaijutsu that Kaguya had taught him. He gripped his blades and drew them, but utilised Mico Grandus to appear just in front of the enemy in a single instant.
"What the?!" demanded the woman in white robes, trying to slash at Akihide in a panic. However, against his superior agility stat, as well as his skill, he was much faster and slashed the woman across the neck, drenching her cloak and his blades in blood, as she fell to the ground.
"Okami Style." finished Akihide, gripping his tantō as he immediately teleported to the next one, appearing right behind his head in the air and bringing his blade down on the Evilus supporter's neck, killing them before they could swing their sword down on a civilian shop owner he saw before. "Run!" called out the child adventurer. "Get out of here!"
The civilian needed no further encouragement as he turned tail, running down one of the streets not polluted with members of Evilus. Akihide turned, his blood soaked tantō at the ready as he prepared for the next Evilus member. He jumped back as a sword came slashing past him, wielded by a shorter and wider man in black robes. "Die!" he shouted, aiming another strike at Akihide, who simply dodged out of the way, which allowed him to use the opportunity created by the man's overcompensating swing and blind spot to slam the side of his blade into the man's head, knocking him out. They needed someone alive who would tell them why. But that wasn't important as Akihide scanned the area for the people in the most need of help, teleporting between them and Evilus, before killing the attackers and proceeding onto the next one.
However, that stopped the moment he entered the battle.
Akihide was pushed back by the dust cloud that originated less than a few meters away from him, holding onto a child he had just helped closely as the two of them went flying back to the other three on patrol. Akihide looked up at the dust cloud and glared, wandering what could have caused such a thing to occur.
He didn't have to wait long for his answer as a shadow appeared in the dust. Walking down from dust came a man, wearing a black cloak, with a hood pulled up that covered his face. He wore a skeletal mask that had glowing, red eyes, and brown pants wrapped with rope. All in all, he looked like a scary homeless man, but the truth was anything but. Akihide could tell at a glance that the guy was strong. Strong enough to rival Finn or Gareth in combat. He smirked the entire time as he looked out at the sea of carnage.
"Oh, I just love the smell of death in the morning." he sighed with a smile, looking at the adventurers. "Astraea Familia... Ganesha Familia... and I don't know you..." he muttered, looking at the four adventurers.
"Who are you?" demanded Kaguya, gripping her sword, ready to strike. "Why have you done this?"
"Because I can." responded the man in all seriousness, before breaking out into fits of laughter. "Death is a common occurrence, and is the only thing all people have in common. Death allows for the beautiful cycle of reincarnation that my god so craves, it is a truly wonderous thing that all beings should experience as soon as possible!" he cried out in glee. "Are you watching, my god?! I will bring your dream of beautiful reincarnation to you! Your child will serve your wishes and bring beauty to the tainted souls of the people, washing them clean of sin!"
"Oh, so you're crazy." said Kaguya, as if just figuring that out whilst also mocking him. "But you still didn't answer my first question, perhaps because your ears have turned to bone. Who are you?"
The man simply kept smiling as his eyes began to glow more. "I am a faithful servant of death. I am he who serves the god of death, Thanatos. Level 4 and executive at Evilus, my name is Xaxa, The Red Eyes!" screamed the man, drawing from his waist a rapier. "Diediediediediedie!" he screamed as he rushed forward at the crowd. Kaguya went to intercept, only to be blown away as he rushed past her and stabbed his blade through the chest of an older woman, piercing her heart and killing her, before allowing her corpse to fall to the ground. "Die for the sake of cleansing your soul..."
Akihide jumped into action, teleporting right next to the guy's head, already swinging his blade down to stab him in the brain and kill him. However, the man reacted quick enough to dodge his attack and slam his elbow into the child's stomach, sending him flying through one of the walls of the buildings on the street. "Not bad~" he sung before turning to the adventurers and yelling out with a smirk on his face, "But you'll have to do better to stop me!"
Kaguya got up and turned to the two of them. "Ryuu! Go check on Akihide! Ardee, gather any reinforcements you can and send them my way! I'll hold him off!" she yelled, clutching her katana. She shivered, realising that there was nothing she would be able to do against the man clad in a skull mask, but she had to try. As the strongest one there, and the Vice-Captain of the Astraea Familia, it was her duty to hold him off until help could arrive.
Ardee looked between Kaguya and Xaxa, pondering her options, before she turned around. "I'll be back!" she promised as she began moving down the street, trying to gather reinforcements. Ryuu, however, whilst worried about Akihide, knew the Kaguya had no chance against this Xaxa. She rushed over to Kaguya.
"Shitty elf! Go check on Akihide!" ordered the Far Eastern Princess.
"You can't hold him off alone!" replied Ryuu, holding her own sword in a combat position. "We'll do this together!"
"Together..." muttered Xaxa, smiling before breaking out once more in hysterical laughter. "Together... do it together... you should die together!" he screamed out as he charged at them. He jumped up, slamming his foot into Ryuu and sending her back. Kaguya tried to slash at him, but he blocked it with his rapier ran it down his blade, ducking under the swing and slashing Kaguya across the stomach with the tip of his sword. This was simply the difference between a level 2 and a level 4. One shot was all it took to take her down. "Hahahahaha! Oh glorious death! Oh beautiful death! Oh beautiful cleansing of the soul! Allow me to indulge in it more before I purify your souls!" he screamed as he turned to the few people still on the streets, unable to move in terror or due to injury. "Die!" he screamed as he picked out out his next target, a small pallum girl with brown hair and eyes.
But his fun was stopped as Akihide appeared next to the girl, grabbing her and teleporting away before the attack could connect.
Xaxa looked to his side to see Akihide had teleported the girl not too far from them, but more than enough to put some distance between the two. "Why struggle?" asked the madman. "We all must embrace death. It comes for us all, and the purification of a soul is the most beautiful in Genkai and Tenkai. Why do you stop this beautiful process for happening?" asked the crazed skull man.
Akihide turned to the man, having released the girl who was still too terrified to move. The skull man continued. "What do you hope to accomplish here?! Why stop the beauty of purification and death?! Answer me damn it! I want to know why you would put a stop to the beauty of death and purity!" he demanded, before grinning once more. "It's Astraea, right? Did the goddess of justice fill your head with bullshit to make you want to protect people or something? It all means nothing if the world is just or not, only death and purity matters. Is that why you stop the purity of cleansing souls? Justice?"
As Akihide drew his katana, dropping into a stance that Kaguya taught him. He drew in a breath, holding it and calming his nerves, before turning back to the man.
"I don't care about justice." he said, shocking the recovering Ryuu and Kaguya. "Right now, justice isn't important to me. I don't care about if you get properly punished for your sins or not, or if what you're doing is for the greater good in your head. Right now, there's only one thing I care about."
"Saving lives."
Xaxa looked on at Akihide with an expression of indifference, before morphing into one of anger. "What?" he demanded, teeth clenched and eyes glowing red more than ever. "You would stop the cleansing of the souls of these people to save their meaningless lives?!" he yelled, clearly livid. "No! The fuck do you think you are, some kind of hero?! That you'll save the day in just a nick of time and sacrifice yourself for the greater good?!"
Akihide smirked. "A hero, huh? Yeah... that's not a bad way to put it..." he muttered, looking at the man. "Yeah... I'll be a hero. But I won't sacrifice myself just yet. I still have to kill that monster."
"Die!" demanded Xaxa, rushing at the boy with his blade drawn. "I'll kill you, so purify your sinner soul and die to repent!"
Just as he was about to hit him, a chime of a bell sounded through the street, and a lady appeared between them, her arms held out in front of her at Xaxa.
"Gospel."
A thunderous sound erupted from nowhere, slamming into Xaxa and sending him flying back and slamming him onto the ground. The lady sighed as she lowered her hand.
"Too noisy..."
Spoiler: Akihide will not be levelling up from the encounter. He hasn't done enough to warrant a level up in my opinion, and I do have a plan on how he's going to level up. But what this is going to do is introduce him to an imperative character that is going to have a major impact on his life as well as the series in general.
Anyway, just to make sure I don't leave you guys with nothing, I'm going to post the current stats for Kiddy Party, just so you guys can get a rough idea about where we are in terms of status and levels.

The Tales of the Nine Tailed King: Epilogue
The wind blew across the old man's face as he continued on his path. With no destination in mind, he simply moved his stick as he made his way across the flat stretch of grassland, accompanied by a single path. The old man, having reached over 70 years old, had no food or water on him, having had the last of it a day prior. Not that he needed it. He had been through worse before, such as the battle of Balor and the Great Hole 40 years ago.
The old man sighed, remembering the faces of those he lost over they years. The clown and his sister, the wolf, the dwarf, the knights, the royal champion, the saintess, the two poets, the royalty and the champion warrior. All of them had since left the mortal coil, leaving him the sole survivor, save for that one bard that almost killed him when he said something about her flat chest.
He walked along the road, his walking stick supporting him as if he was a frail old man. It was easier that way to avoid bandits, who thought he had nothing. He was more than capable of fighting against anyone or anything, but it became too much of a hassle and he liked to avoid it wherever possible.
But unfortunately for him, trouble always seemed to find it's way to him.
A crash came down right next to him, stopping him in his tracks. The old man slowly looked over to the new arrival, finding a black dragon with a pair of glowing, red eyes. "So, are you to be my final opponent?" asked the old man, taking the cloth off the top of his walking stick to reveal a naginata, a weapon of his homeland. "I can sense you're more powerful than any other being I've ever encountered. Even more so than Balor."
The dragon only responded with a roar.
"Heh." smiled the old man, getting into his combat position. "Write a tale about this, you flat elf." he said as he charged into the final battle of his life.
But before he too left the mortal plains in front of a cheering audience, the Nine Tailed King, Tamamo no Mae, would land the first major hit against the Black Dragon, which would later be referred to as the One Eyed Black Dragon after it's encounter with Albert Waldstein. A huge scar down it's chest as a constant reminder that the beast was not invincible.
Spoiler: Yes, Akihide is the reincarnation of the Nine Tailed King, Tamamo na Mae. He landed the hit on the OEBD that will be quite crucial later in the story. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter, but for now, this is Striker777, over and out.
