Tails here with Chapter 6 of Black Flame Ruby, I swear Thorn is the most messed up character I've written in any of my stories, more liberties at different parts of this chapter.

Wendy, Carla and Happy are flying around when they finally see Jellal, Jaune and Gajeel, and they're fighting a bunch of Guards. "Guy's!" Wendy yells, flying over them. "Sky Dragon's Wing Attack!" She yells, landing and swinging her arms, creating the feather whips, which hit multiple guards, knocking them back.
"It's the squirt." Gajeel says, his arm turns into a metal pole, which extends hitting a guard and he swings, hitting a whole group of guards.
"Wendy." Jaune and Jellal say, running up to her.
"Jaune, Jellal, we know where the Lacrima is." Wendy says.
"Where?" Jaune says, and Wendy points up, they look up and see two floating islands.
"It's on that island." Carla says, pointing at the exact island.
"Jellal, you're from here aren't you?" Wendy asks.
"So you figured it out, yeah, I'm from Edolas, I'm Jellal Faust, the Edolas counterpart of Jellal Fernandez." Jellal says.
"Do you know why the Army wants to capture us Dragon Slayers?" Wendy asks, and his eyes widen.
"I do, in Edolas Dragon Slayer Magic is very powerful and malleable, …knowing my father, he probably wants to send the Lacrima into Extalia, destroying it and creating eternal Magic." He says.
"Your father?" Jaune asks, confused.
"The King, I'm the disowned Prince, I hate what my father has become and done." Jellal says, shocking them. "Anyway, you guy's need to get up there and save our guild, I'll send everyone back." He says, and they nod.
"But only two of us can go, we only have Happy and Carla." Wendy says, but they hear flapping,
"No, I'm here too." Yang says.
"Yang, where's Ruby?" Wendy asks, and Yang sighs.
"Outside the city, with Thorn." Yang says.
"Why would you leave her with that psychopath?!" Wendy yells, and Yang flinches.
"She told me to, she even yelled at me, to go, saying she didn't need Thorn using me against her." Yang says, and Wendy's eyes widen, but before Wendy can say anything, Gajeel speaks.
"Don't be so uptight, if the little Dragoness sent you away, and had you get them out of the city, that can only mean one thing, she plans on going all out." Gajeel says, and Wendy nods.
"Gajeel's right, that's the only thing that could mean." Wendy says.
"But, why would she send me away, if that was the case?" Yang asks, confused.
"Yang, Ruby doesn't know what she's capable of, if she goes all out, she's never truly had to do it." Wendy says.
"I have an inkling of what that Dragoness is capable of, you guys know how Aconologia is called the Black Dragon of the Apocalypse?" Gajeel asks, and they nod. "Metalicana told me the Dragons had a similar title for Fatalis, The Black Dragon of Ruination." He says.
"Anyway, we should probably get to the Lacrima, and turn our Guildmates back to normal, even if Jellal plans to send us all back." Jaune says, and they all nod, Carla grabbing Wendy again, Happy grabbing Gajeel, and Yang grabbing ahold of Jaune, and they fly up to the island with the lacrima, before they can land a giant sword cuts through a section of the island, and when the dust clears they see Panther Lily and Faye, who both have Aera wings.
"So Ruby was right, the two of you are Exceed." Wendy says.
"I am the Commander of the First Magical Warfare Division, Panther Lily, this is my Lieutenant Faye Rolland. This Lacrima is the Linchpin of my current Operation! You shall not touch it." Lily says.
"You guys, should warn the Exceed about what Mystogan said." Gajeel says, and they nod flying to Extalia
"Faye, after them." Lily orders, and Faye nods, flying after them, she speeds up and tackles Jaune and Yang, knocking them into the center of the town on Extalia.
"What's going on?!" A bunch of Exceed yell, when Wendy and Carla land.
"Get out of here, that Exceed their works for the king, and he plans to throw the Giant Lacrima into Extalia!" Wendy yells, Jaune gets up and cracks his neck.
"You alright Yang?" Jaune asks, and Yang gets up and nods, annoyed, he nods, pulling his head back as blue magic swirls around his mouth, shocking all the Exceed, he then swings his head down releasing a beam of bright blue magic at Faye, hitting her as she and the beam barrel through the town and into the castle. He just stands there waiting for her to fly back, she comes flying back now holding two Longswords. He pulls the twinblade off his back, guarding an attack from both blades.
"What, my blades can even cut through magic items!" Faye says, shocked and Jaune smirks.
"Well, this weapon isn't made of any metal, but of the Scales of my father, the Self Proclaimed Dragon King, Acnologia : the Black Dragon of the Apocalypse. Magic has no effect against him, or my weapon, Shiro. Arcane Dragon's Claw!" He yells, kicking with a glowing blue foot, hitting her in the stomach launching her through more houses. "Arcane Flight." He chant's, as blue wings that Wendy notices look like Acnologia's, appear on his back as he flies up and stretches the wings out, and dozens of blue orbs appear floating behind him. "Eternal Flare!" Jaune yells, and every orb streaks forward, towards Faye, she flies up dodging each one, which destroys multiple houses.
(Dragon Slayer Magic, sure is terrifying.) Faye thinks, looking at the destruction, and feeling bad, she brings up her blades to stop Jaune's attack with Shiro.
"Answer me this, if the two of you are Exceed, why are you helping in, what's likely, the destruction of your own race?" Jaune asks.
"I don't see how that concerns you." Faye says, pushing him back, and slashing at him, which he sidesteps.
"I honestly don't care, but from what Yang, Carla and Happy said, you guys see yourselves as gods, compared to Humans, which reminds me far too much of my father, honestly I would rather them be destroyed, if they act like that. But I'm just curious why the two of you are helping in your own race's destruction." He says.
"This kingdom of lies should be destroyed, Shagotte knows how powerless our race really is, and yet exiles Lily and I for saving the life of a human child!" She seethes.
"So it's revenge for an unjust exile." Jaune says, looking at the castle, and jumping back. "I'll be honest, I want to stop this fight now, I honestly think you're both in the right and wrong, the queen should pay for your unjust exile, but causing what's tantamount to Genocide is the wrong way to go about it. Plus you're still getting in the way of us saving our Guild." He says, rushing at her, with both of Shiro's blades glowing orange, he jumps up, seemingly ready to impale Faye with one of the ends, she jumps out of the way, and the blade impales the ground. "Chaos Storm!" He yells, and a barrier surrounds the two of them and several more houses, as orange magic erupts through the barrier, when the magic and Barrier dissipates, all of the houses that were in it are just dust, and Faye's cloak and helmet are destroyed, while she's visibly damaged and part of her chest plate was destroyed.
"Earthland Magic is scary in general, not just Dragon Slayer Magic." Faye says, keeping herself up with both of her swords, she sees particles of magic gathering towards Jaune, and looks seeing an orb of magic appearing in his hand, he appears in front of her, slamming his hand into the ground, creating a blast of magic that is rather wide, and which erupts into the air.
"Stop this instant!" The two of them hear when the blast dies down, they look over and Faye's eyes widen, seeing a tall white Exceed with gray eyes, wearing a very large dress.
"It's the Queen, we're saved!" One Exceed says.
"You guys are done for now." Another says, throwing a rock at Wendy, Jaune appears in front of her catching the rock and crushes it, glaring at the Exceed, scaring it.
(So this is Queen Shagotte.) Wendy, Carla, and Yang think, though Yang is glaring daggers at her.
"Everyone calm down please, I have something I need to say, and please stay as calm as possible. Right now… Extalia is facing extinction, that is our inescapable fate." Shagotte says, shocking everyone. "I've decided now is the time I must tell the truth." She says as the dress falls, and we see she's wearing a red tank top, and lilac pants, and takes a bracelet off her wrist, causing her to shrink a bit, and she only has one Aera wing. "I am nothing more than a normal Exceed, I am no god, I'm barely a Queen. I have no special ability that would allow me to fight the humans, so Dragon Slayer, I ask that you please stop putting my people in danger." She says, looking at Jaune, he nods, putting his weapon back on his back.
"Looks like you're getting your wish, Faye." Jaune says, and Faye is just standing there shocked.
"Yes, Lady Faye, I'm sorry we had to exile you and Panther Lily, to keep this farce up." Shagotte says. "Now, I apologize for hiding all of this from you, my people." She says, then one of the 4 old Exceed behind her, steps up.
"It is we, the elders who are responsible for all of this, this farce and the creation of the Goddess Queen. Truth is the Exceed are an extremely weak people, or at least, we thought we were, but Panther Lily, Faye, and the two Young Exceeds there, are proof we can be strong. But long, long ago… the Exceed were subject to terrible treatment at the hands of humans. We made the humans believe we had great power to protect ourselves." One elder says, and another one steps up.
"To restore our people's self confidence, we convinced our people Shagotte was a god. At first no-one believed, but eventually even the humans believed in this god. But all we did was gather extensive knowledge on this world. An example, being the campaign of human control, of deciding which humans lived and died, was actually us taking credit. We have no such abilities." He says, and another steps up.
"In truth Shagotte only has one power, she can see fragments of the future, she can foresee people's death. We used it to make the humans believe that she decides who lives and dies." He finishes.
"What about Lucy then, you ordered our friend to be executed, even if everything else was a lie, that part is real!" Yang screams.
"Shagotte never ordered such a thing! It must have been one of the humans." The final Elder says
"No, then what about Carla, you planted memories in her head and manipulated her, you manipulated my sister!" Yang roars.
"I-It wasn't like that! It'd take too long to explain the intricacies of what that really was, at the moment!" Nadi says, but he flinches at Yang's still enraged state.
"I don't care, what you've done is unforgivable!" Yang yells, and Shagotte throws a sword on the ground in front of her.
"Then pass down your judgment, you're all innocent in all of this, and our decisions have caused suffering for all you." Shagotte says, shocking everyone, and Yang picks up the sword, but Carla puts her paw on Yang's shoulder.
"Yang, right now we have much more to worry about, we need to save our Guild." Carla says.
"But…" Yang says.
"Yang, how far would you go, if it meant the protection of Ruby, Wendy and I?" Carla asks, completely silencing Yang, she then stabs the sword into the ground, and glows, turning into her human form.
"Are you going to give up just like that, this is your country isn't it, do you really think you're helpless without a Queen or God! All these lies you've told were for the protection of your people, so why are you giving up so easily now!? So what if you're weak individually, people can do anything together, you want to set your mistakes right, then do it, and own up to them!" Yang yells, and all the Exceed just stand there, thinking, even Faye, who then starts walking away.
"What are you doing, Faye?" Jaune asks.
"I'm going to end this, even if I have to kill the King myself." She says.
"Wait, Faye, can you take me to talk to the king?" Shagotte asks, walking up to Faye, shocking everyone, making Faye sigh as she picks Shagotte up, and flies back to the castle, Yang transforms back, as she and Carla pick up Jaune and Wendy, Nadi flies after as well. On the way they see Gajeel and Panther Lily still fighting, they stop as Lily looks at Faye.
"Faye what's going on?" Panther Lily asks.
"The Queen has stopped lying, and now wants to talk to Faust." Faye explains, shocking him, then he nods, and Happy grabs hold of Gajeel, flying with them, when everyone hears a sound, everyone flying to the castle sees a massive pillar of black flames outside the city.
"Damn, that little Dragoness, is really letting this Thorn person have it." Gajeel says, but Jaune and Wendy are looking at the pillar apprehensively.
(I've never seen any of Ruby's spells reach that level, not even her strongest spells.) Wendy thinks, anxious.
(Only a full Dragon could use an attack capable of that radius and blast range. Unless she's gone into Dragon's Wrath Mode.) Jaune thinks, concerned.
"So, why are you revealing the truth now, Shagotte?" Panther Lily asks, and Shagotte sighs.
"No matter what the king tries, Fate has already decided, today is the day that all Magic disappears from Edolas, but I don't know how." Shagotte says, but on the way they all feel a pulse, and see the Lacrima disappear.
"What… happened…, what happened to our friends." Natsu yells, as he and Gray break into the room, the King is in as the rest of the group get there as well.
"Faust." Shagotte says, scaring him a bit.
"Goddess Shagotte!" Faust yells, scared, but silences,when she holds her paw up.
"Faust, I am no goddess, nor do I have the ability to kill anyone, but I can see the future." She says, shocking Faust and the army. "What you're doing, it's all for naught, fate has decided today is the day Edolas loses all Magic." She says, and there is just silence.
"Byro?" He asks, seething inside.
"Yes sir, it's been prepared for a while now." Byro says, and a hole opens up under Faust, and he falls down.
"Where's he going!" Natsu yells, when a weird sludge lands on him, and explodes into flames.
"Flame Liquid!" Byro yells, only to be shocked when Natsu slurps the flames up.
"Thanks for the grub, old guy, now where'd the king go, and more importantly, where'd the Lacrima with our friends go!?" Natsu screams, picking up Byro.
"The Lacrima has returned to Earthland, Natsu." They all hear and look to see Jellal on a large bird.
"Jellal!" Wendy yells, happy.
"Sorry it took a while to find an Anima large enough to send the Guild back." Jellal says, and then looks at Panther Lily and Faye and smiles. "Panther Lily, Faye, I'm not sure if the two of you remember me, but you saved me 7 years ago, I'm happy I could save your homeland." He says.
"Prince Jellal!?" Byro yells, shocked.
"Mystogan's a prince?!" Natsu yells.
"The prince of Edolas at that." Gray says, as surprised as Natsu.
"Byro, where is my father, this entire farce ends now." Jellal says.
"Hesh, hesh, he should be in the Dorma Anim by now." Byro says, shocking Jellal.
"The Dorma Anim!" Jellal yells, as the castle starts shaking, and a giant mechanical dragon bursts through the floor.
"So you've returned, you shouldn't have bothered, I never thought of you as my son, and after running away 7 years ago, you dare show your face now! Especially after closing the Animas over the last 7 years, you traitor!" Faust yells, from the mechanical Dragon.
"The Anima plan has failed, there is no reason to fight anymore." Jellal says.
"A reason to fight you say, this isn't a fight anymore, this is VENGEANCE against all who would stand against the King, UNILATERAL DESTRUCTION!" Faust roars.
"Father…" Jellal says.
"I am not your father, I AM THE KING OF EDOLAS! If I put an end to all of you here and now, there will be no one to oppose the Anima plan, we can create another giant Lacrima, and fuse it with the liars, we can do this over and over! THERE IS NOTHING I CAN'T DO, THE POWER OF THE KING IS ABSOLUTE!" Faust roars.
"What is this thing?" Gray asks.
"This is the Dorma Anim, in our Language it means, Dragon Knight, an enhanced armored dragon, we've won." Byro explains, chuckling, only for Gray to pick him up.
"What makes you so sure of that?" Gray asks, annoyed.
"It's armor is coated in Wizard Canceller, Magic has no effect on it." Byro says, and Gray drops him shocked.
"Men, there are some Exceed here, capture them, then go to Extalia, and capture the rest!" Faust orders.
"Protect the Exceed, please." Shagotte asks, and Faye grabs her flying back to Extalia, when she's shot by a beam, turning into a big piece of Lacrima, which causes Shagotte to fall, but Yang catches her.
"Faye!" Coco yells.
"Bastard!" Panther Lily yells angry, rushing at Faust, who points the maw of the Dorma Anim, at Lily, releasing a beam of Magic at and Jellal jumps down in front, creating a barrier with his staves.
"Jellal!" Wendy screams.
"Mystogan!" Natsu, Gray, Erza, and Lucy scream.
"Mystogan, is that the name you went by on Earthland?!" Faust yells.
"All of you leave now!" Jellal yells. "Three Layered Magic Circle : Mirror Pool!" He chants, reflecting the blast back at the Dorm Anim, creating a dust cloud that clears, showing the Anim completely unaffected, as a smaller blast of magic is released from a cannon on its shoulder, but Lily and Jellal are shocked when Jaune appears in front of them, when the blast hits everyone hears slurping, as Jaune eats the blast, he wipes his mouth, and inhales, Jellal and Lily see his eyes go completely white for a second, and can feel the sheer amount of magic gathering.
"Roar of the Dragon KIng!" Jaune roars, releasing a massive bright blue beam that barrels towards the Dorma Anim, and on impact launches it back kicking up a bunch of dust, when it clears, there are chunks of the armor missing. "Immune to magic… huh… heh, looks like… you didn't account… for Dragon Slayer Magic." He says, breathing heavily.
"WHAT?!" Faust yells, not noticing Wendy near him, with her arms held out.
"From Flowing Winds… To Tearing Gales… I Call on the Very Sky Itself… Sky Dragon's Hurricane!" Wendy Chants, releasing a massive tornado ripping around the Doma Anim, throwing it into the sky where, Natsu and Gajeel are waiting for it, with the help of Happy and Yang, Gajeel has his hands clapped together over his head, while Natsu is spinning with ignited arms.
"Karma Demon : Iron God Sword!" Gajeel chants, as his hands merge into a giant iron sword, and swings down.
"Crimson Lotus : Exploding Flame Blade!" Natsu roars, releasing torrents of flames, from his ignited arm, both attacks hit, launching the Dorma Anim to the ground, creating a massive crater, but they're shocked when they hear laughter, and the Dorma Anim gets back up, but it's starting to change black, everyone is just surprised it's still functioning, considering it's pretty heavily damaged at this point.
"YOU'LL BE MINE, WITH YOU I CAN RESTART THE ANIMA PLAN! I'LL ROB YOU OF YOUR WILL TO FIGHT, WITH THE POWER OF THE DORMA ANIM BLACK HEAVEN!" Faust roars, but before anything can happen, everyone hears a roar, that sounds like a dragon's roar, and after a minute, something black streaks from the direction of the city, specifically the opposite side of the city, piercing into the Dorma Anim, which erupts into black flames, and something falls from the new hole in the Dorma Anim, and all the soldiers are scared since through the black flames all they see is two glowing red eyes.
[With Ruby and Thorn earlier]
"So you plan to fight me by yourself, I can at least respect that you have a pair on you, you little bitch!" Thorn seethes.
"I sent Yang to help my friends, and to get her away from here, So I can go all out, and so you can't use her against me." Ruby says, and is confused when Thorn glares at her.
"Why would you name that pathetic thing after Yang!?" Thorn snarls.
"At the time, her ears reminded me of the Yin Yang symbol, and the word Yang as a name felt important to me, though I had no idea why, it wasn't until a few years later, that Mom told me about being from another world and that I had an older Sister named Yang, that adored me, a father who had just lost his wife and now his youngest Daughter disappears. I do feel bad for them, and wish that Mom erased their memories, but I can't control what's already been done." Ruby says, and Thorn seems to get even angrier.
"Why do you call the bitch that kidnapped you Mom, she's not your mom!" Thorn snarls.
"I know, but my real mom is dead, I came to terms with that a long time ago, and it's not Siora's fault she had to take me to another world, plus she cares about me like a mother does, Blood doesn't matter to me, those Exceed, Yang and Carla are my little sisters, Siora is my Mother, Fatalis is my Father, and Wendy is…, I treasure her more than anything, if it was a choice between Earthland and Remnant, than Remnant doesn't have a leg to stand on, I honestly have no attachments there." Ruby says, shocked when Thorn just Laughs, but the laugh is hollow and deadly.
"That bitch really got to you, it's funny, when the version of the bitch brought me here, she was actually shocked, when I tried to kill her. I was a Child Soldier for fucks sake, what'd she expect, I mean I've killed more people than I can count, and I enjoy it, I love watching the life disappear from someone's eyes. Even before I was brought here, the thought of causing death brings me nothing but euphoria, my nature is blood and carnage, simple as that." Thorn says, starting to laugh, but now it's bone chilling, scaring even Ruby. "Here people Call me one of the Fairy Hunters, but back in Reammacia, I had earned a name unique to me." She says, readying her Scythe, and cackling. "I am and will always be, the Laughing Reaper!" She cackles, appearing beside Ruby midswing, Ruby unsheathes Hametsu blocking the swipe, being launched back. She catches herself, and rushes towards Thorn.
"Black Flame Dragon's Iron Fist!" Ruby yells, appearing in front of Thorn, going to plant the inflamed fist into Thorn's stomach, but Thorn blocks the attack with the pole of the scythe, and push kicking Ruby in the face, knocking her away. (She's quick, even with that scythe.) Ruby thinks, and Thorn bursts into Rose Petals, rushing at Ruby, she rematerializes her leg to knee her in the stomach, dematerializing and rematerializing her other leg behind Ruby, kicking her in the back, knocking her down. Thorn rematerializes, spinning the scythe before slicing down, Ruby flips back, but Thorn smirks as the Lacrima glows, and thorny vines rip out of the ground tangling around Ruby, and Thorn rushes at her, Ruby screams erupting in black flames, which stops Thorn. "Ebony Lotus : Black Flame Dragon's Fist!" Ruby screams, appearing in front of Thorn, and landing this time, launching Thorn away, Ruby then puts her hand up. "Bane of Life… Herald of Ruin… With the Sight of these Flames… Black Flame Dragon's Ruinous Flame!" She yells, throwing the large ball of flames, but Thorn bursts into Petals flowing around it, and rushing back towards Ruby, rematerializing her arm and head, elbowing Ruby in the face, and headbutting her, fully rematerializing, standing in front of Ruby and cackling.
"Maybe, you should've brought someone else with you, you little fuck." Thorn says, swinging her scythe, and Ruby jumps back, but her leg is caught by the edge of the scythe, cutting it open. Ruby gets a bit of distance, but flinches from the cut.
(I didn't think I'd have to do this here.) Ruby thinks, as her eyes flicker red, and her magic explodes around her hand, as the flames create dragon claws on her fingers, and she appears in front of Thorn, shocking her.
(The little bitch got faster, how, with that wound on her leg?!) Thorn thinks.
"Ebony Wrath : Midnight Crushing Fang!" Ruby snarls, slamming her fingers down on Thorns head, subsequently slamming her head into the Ground, and Ruby jumps back, flinching again from her leg, and breathing hard as her arm is shaking, and her fingers are twitching. (Using a spell of that caliber is only possible when I open the Second Origin, Mom opened, but I've never had to do it, and as I am now, I can't keep it open for long.) She thinks, when Thorn gets up and she's bleeding from her forehead, and she spits out a glob of blood, getting up and bursting into petals, rushing at her a leg rematerializes, kneeing Ruby in the stomach, making her hunch over spitting up blood, rematerializing an arm and elbows down on her head, throwing her head into the ground, she then grabs Ruby and rushes into the air, Ruby dematerializes into black rose petals, and after a certain distance, Thorn flips around launching back towards the ground, letting go of Ruby who rematerializes, and is barreling towards the ground at high speed, she hits and screams in pain, spitting up a lot of blood, and she hears Thorn's cackling, as she rematerializes standing over Ruby, and slams the scythe down, impaling Ruby's side, making her scream in pain.
"Yes, yes that's it, that's the sound I like to hear!" Thorn cackles, taking the scythe out and cutting into other places as well, her shoulder, her arm, and a cut down the left side of her face, all the while enjoying the screams of pain from Ruby,. "You know after I kill you, I'll have my fun with those Exceed you like, and those other four, Natsu, Gray, Erza and Lucy, and when I'm done with them, I'll have all the fun I want with that Wendy girl you care so much about, oh, maybe I should leave you alive, so you can watch me break her, I imagine her screams would be like Music!" She yells, but notices the area starts to get extremely hot, she looks down to see Ruby's face twisted in fury, except her eyes are now red. She lashes out punching Thorn in the gut, launching her off, she gets up wobbly, and rips the scythe out of her side, where Thorn impaled it again, as she explodes in black flames, cauterizing all the wounds, and melting the scythe.
"If you dare touch Wendy, I'LL KILL YOU!" Ruby snarls, with her arm held out as a bunch of flames erupt off it, taking the form of a massive dragon wing. "Ebony Wrath : Midnight Wing!" She snarls, slamming the wing down, creating a massive pillar of fire, when it dies down Thorn gets up, badly burned.
"Oh, so you can do more than fucking bark!" Thorn cackles, making Ruby even angrier.
"Ebony Wrath : Midnight Fist, Midnight Crushing Fang, Midnight Grip Strike, Midnight Roar!" Ruby roars, slamming her fist into Thorns stomach, launching her back, but Ruby grabs her leg, pulling it out of place, and slamming her, once again, shrouded fingers down on Thorn, and then grabs her, releasing an massive explosion of flames, and picks her up throwing her into the air, inhales, and releases a massive beam of black fire. After a minute Thorn finally hits the ground and Ruby takes notice of the massive tornado that appears on the other side of the city, and goes to head over there, when Thorn grabs ahold of her leg, honestly shocking her, she looks seeing the pure insanity in her eyes.
"After I kill you, I'll have fun breaking that girl, I'll make it slow and painful, so I can get the most amount of fun out of it!" Thorn cackles, but is practically broken at this point, but it still enrages Ruby, who throws her in front of her.
"Ebony Wrath : Midnight Guillotine!" Ruby roars, erupting into flames, launching into Thorn roaring like a dragon, and going across the city, and slamming into the Dorma Anim, putting a hole into it, causing it to erupt into flames, and drops Thorn.
"That's what I was afraid of." Jaune says.
"What do you mean?" Wendy asks, confused, noticing, Gajeel and Natsu are even more serious than they were while fighting the Dorma Anim.
"That crazy Dragoness actually went into Dragon's Wrath Mode!" Gajeel yells, shocked, as the flames start to disappear, and the Dorma Anim is melting, Ruby reaches up through the Dorma Anim and rips Faust through it, terrifying him, as he's being held, he sees the image a enraged, black serpentine dragon, Ruby throws him into a wall.
"Ebony Wrath : Midnight Fist!" Ruby snarls, rushing and planting her fist in his gut, causing Faust to scream in agony, puking up blood.
"If we don't stop her, she'll kill him." Natsu says, not knowing what to do, when Wendy runs to Ruby.
"Shit, get back here, Squirt!" Gajeel yells, reaching out to grab her.
"Ruby!" Wendy yells, happy to see her alright, but gasps when she turns towards her, and they all see the cauterized wounds, but Natsu, Gajeel and Jaune, are shocked when Ruby looks at Wendy and her eyes return to normal, and she passes out.
"Salamander?" Gajeel asks, and Natsu nods.
"No, no way, that… that kid beat Thorn!" A soldier yells, and every soldier freaks out running away, as Erza gets there, dragging Knightwalker.
"No way, Thorn lost?!" Knightwalker says, and there's a rumbling in the ground as a tree erupts out of the ground, Gray, Erza, Gajeel and Jaune are shocked seeing the Fairy Tail Mark on it, but nothing shocks Gray and Erza more than when Lisanna walks out, while a bunch of the other Edolas Fairy Tail start fighting the army.
"Sorry I took so long, but hey the guild decided to give me a proper sendoff, by helping take down the kingdom, though it looks like you have that well in hand." Lisanna says.
"No problem, you had a difficult choice to make, and of course, you remember how Fairy Tail is." Natsu says, chuckling but blushes when she kisses him on the cheek.
"Thanks for not telling Dragion, I'm not there Lisanna." She says.
"No problem, but how'd it go, I'm guessing since you said sendoff, you're coming back." He asks, and she nods.
"Yeah, and it turns out they all already knew, which kind of annoys me, when I told them everything I thought, that they thought I was joking, that was until Dragion came back from dropping you guys at the capital. I'm not sure about what happened, all he said was he was surprised I didn't tell you, I was your Lisanna, but whatever happened, he said that they shouldn't keep me away from the people that love me, especially from one that seems to be suffering from my supposed death." She says, chuckling.
"Hehe, I might've snapped on Dragion, when he said to keep the Guild and you specifically, out of our fight against the kingdom." He says, when a hand grabs his shoulder, he looks and sees, Erza, with an unreadable expression.
"I'm happy to see that you were right, but you have a lot to explain." Erza says.
"What…" He says, confused.
"I didn't say anything, cause I heard it had something to do with being a Dragon Slayer, but I heard you back on the boat, coming back from the Oracion Seis mission." Erza says, shocking him.
"When we get back, I'll explain, though I'm sure you're not going to like it, Cana sure wasn't happy, even if she came to understand it." Natsu says.
"Wait, Cana knew, and she never said anything." She says shocked.
"I learned a secret of Cana's, a few months after Lisanna was taken here, so I told her Lisanna was alive, and don't ask me, you won't get the secret out of me, it's up to Cana to tell the guild." He says, and she nods, understanding, but everything starts shaking, they look around and see all the floating islands are falling, when Nadi flies down to them.
"Hello, the prince needs a fake villain." Nadi says.
"What, and why are the islands falling?" Gray asks.
"Prince Jellal, is sending all magic in Edolas to Earthland, it'll cause mass panic, and for the prince to be installed as king, we need a fake villain." Nadi says.
"I don't know how you want this to go down, but if you want a little destruction, you're asking the right people, Gray, Erza can you two keep an eye on Wendy and Ruby, Gajeel and Jaune can you help with this." Natsu says, and they all nod, later we see Natsu in a ridiculous outfit, rampaging through the city, alongside Jaune and Gajeel.
"Chaos Gale!" Jaune screams, spinning Shiro, creating an orange horizontal tornado, destroying a large swash of the city, while away from him, Gajeel jumps, turning his arm into a giant mallet destroying a house, and Natsu uses a wing attack, launching a group of guards away, laughing maniacally.
"My name is the Demon God Dragneel! I am here to claim all this world's Magic, as punishment for its GREED, I AM THE TRUE GOD OF THIS WORLD! Your king has been defeated, but I'm not satisfied with this pathetic excuse of a man! I can sense you Prince, I can feel the resolve you have! If you show me that resolve, my minions and I will do nothing more than take your magic, this greedy world must still be punished!" Natsu yells, shocking Jellal.
(What are you doing Natsu!?) Jellal thinks, as Nadi lands by him.
"Sorry about the lack of warning Prince Jellal, but we came up with a plan, for the people to accept you, and you don't even have to beat Natsu, just show him that you have the resolve to stand up for the people." Nadi says, and Jellal stands there shocked.
"You're the reason we're losing our magic, give us back our magic!" The citizens yell.
"Your Magic, magic belongs to the planet, not you pesky humans, if only this wannabe king, had just listened to Lady Shagotte, you people wouldn't have woken me up, BUT GREED HAS A COST, THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED A SIN!" Natsu roars, getting ready for a Fire Dragon's Roar, only to get slammed through the building by a staff, and Jellal is standing there.
"Who's that?!" The citizens yell, and Natsu pushes the rubble away, and gets up.
"Ah, Prince Jellal, nice to see you, then again I've been watching you for the last 7 years, since you left your homeland to protect it from itself, shutting those Animas so, I wouldn't be awoken, but alas, Fate cannot be avoided!" Natsu yells, outside the city the group is watching, in shock.
"I didn't know Natsu could act like this." Erza says.
"I just can't believe some of the words he's using." Gray says.
"Well, Natsu always likes to be surprising, and it's not like he was ever really an idiot, He just doesn't like to show his smarter side." Lisanna says. "Given his smart, isn't the same as yours Gray, Natsu is like Gildarts, a combat genius, he just likes to seem more simple minded than he actually is, it helps him get closer to people easier." She says.
"Now show me your resolve, Prince of Edolas!" Natsu yells, rushing at Jellal with an inflamed fist, and hitting him, launching him through a pillar, but Jellal launches back hitting him with one of his staves, throwing Natsu through a building.
"If you want to see my resolve, then here it is!" Jellal yells, rushing at Natsu, and kneeing him in the face.
"Is he really the prince?" Some citizens ask.
"He is." They hear, and look to see Faye, wobbling towards them.
"It's Lady Faye!" They all yell.
"If he is the prince, where has he been for the last 7 years?" Some ask.
"He's been in Earthland, 7 years ago the sleeping mind of Demon God Dragneel, spoke to Lady Shagotte, telling her if Edolas didn't curb our Greed for Magic in 7 years, he'd come here, and take away all the Magic. She tried to tell the king, but for some reason he wouldn't listen, but the prince would, so Lady Shagotte tasked Prince Jellal to go to Earthland and sabotage the Animas, it was all for our protection, sadly the King's lust for power was too much." Faye explains shocking them, everyone goes back to watching Jellal and Natsu. Natsu rushes at Jellal, kicking him with an inflamed foot, then elbow, a crushing fang, a wing attack, he then tenses up.
"Fire Dragon's Sword Horn!" Natsu yells, rushing and headbutting Jellal, launching him into the castle walls, Natsu walks up to him, picking him up. "You realize that you're leaving Fairy Tail, that means there are three things, I have to tell you. One, you can't pass along any info that hurts Fairy Tail, for your entire life. Two, what was two?" Natsu whispers.
"You must never use, former contacts met through your time in the guild, for personal gain." Jellal says.
"Yeah that, and three, even when you screw up… …you gotta live your life with all the strength you got all the time. You can't go thinking of your life as something small or not worth it. And you can't ever forget…" Natsu whispers.
"...The friends you love." Jellal says, and Natsu smiles, throwing Jellal up, and hitting with an inflamed fist, throwing him into a random house, and Natsu walks slowly towards him.
"Where's the resolve I felt from you all these years, the resolve to keep me away, or are you like these sheep, unable to do anything without Magic!?" Natsu yells, over Jellal, who comes up headbutting him, and causing him to bleed, shocking everyone.
"I don't need magic to fight for my people!" Jellal yells, punching Natsu in the gut, making him spit up blood. "I have the resolve to put my life on the line for them, I'd give my life to protect them!" Jellal yells, shocking everyone, causing the citizens to cheer for him, slightly shocking him, and Natsu jumps back onto a building, feeling tingly, and smirks at Jellal.
"Well then, I leave Edolas in your capable hands, KING Jellal." Natsu says, as he and all the people from Earthland and the Exceed, glow, shocking everyone, as they're pulled towards the Anima.
"The Prince, no, the King won, the Demon God is leaving." All the citizens yell, and for our heroes, their vision turns white, and then they're in a forest nearby Magnolia.
"WE'RE BACK!" Natsu yells, and they all look and see the town is back to normal.
"But what about everyone in the guild?" Erza asks.
"The guild is fine, no one even knows about this fiasco, other than you guys, the Exceed, and the two of us." They hear and see Siora and Castien walking towards them, with all of the Exceed following them.
"Aunty!" Wendy yells.
"Wendy." Siora says, walking up to them, and takes hold of Ruby, and Erza, Gray, Lucy, Yang, Happy, Carla, Panther Lily and Faye, finally take notice of Ruby's scars.
"Oh my god what happened to Ruby?!" Lucy screams.
"Can you do anything about the scars, Aunty, I can't heal them!?" Wendy screams, but Siora sighs, shaking her head.
"Her magic power may not be anywhere near Fatalis, but her flames ARE the same as his, so with those wounds cauterized by the Black Flames of Ruin, there is no healing magic in existence that can heal those scars." Castien says, Wendy then looks at the other Dragon Slayers.
"Gajeel, Natsu, Jaune, what were you talking about, when you saw her, what is Dragon's Wrath Mode?" Wendy asks, and the three look between each other.
"Well you know what berserk mode is, it's when a Dragon Slayer gives into their rage and anger, but what most don't know, is it's really when an unready Dragon Slayer unconsciously tries to force their body into Dragonforce." Jaune says.
"Dragon's Wrath Mode is a similar thing, but there are two distinct differences, a Dragon Slayer is still mostly coherent in this state, but the trigger for this state is entirely different, where Berserk is giving into rage and hate. Dragon's Wrath Mode is the Dragon Slayer giving into their desire to protect." Natsu explains.
"What do you mean, protect what?" Lucy asks.
"That's kind of the odd part, in Ruby's case, considering her age." Gajeel says.
"What does her age have to do with this?" Erza asks, trying to put everything together, with her current knowledge of Dragon Slayers, and Natsu sighs.
"A Dragon Slayer can only go into Dragon's Wrath Mode… if they feel their MATE is at risk." Natsu explains, shocking all but Jaune, Gajeel, Siora and Castien.
"But… how, you bringing up her age, makes sense now." Lucy says.
"While it is odd, because of her age, the three of us have figured it out already." Gajeel says.
"What do you mean?" Gray asks.
"With my knowledge of Dragon Slayers, it's not unheard of for them to find their Mate this young. But it also answers it for us, for Ruby's age, her Mate has to be someone she's known for a long time, and there's only one person here who fits that description, Wendy." Natsu says, shocking everyone, but Jaune, Gajeel, Siora and Castien, shocking Wendy more than the others.
"But how can you be so sure about that, Natsu?" Lisanna asks.
"Because we also saw the very sign that proves it, only a Dragon Slayer's Mate can pull them out of Dragon's Wrath Mode, and Ruby snapped out of it, as soon as she saw Wendy." Natsu says, and after a few minutes to process that, Wendy passes out.
"Welp, that was to be expected, now Mom, why are they with you?" Yang asks, pointing to the Exceed, glaring at Shagotte.
"Because they need a new home, and they have something they need to say to you guys, so when that's done, we'll be taking them to a secluded place they can live. Oh, and Natsu, refrain from asking Ruby about what Thorn said, until we get back." Siora says, and he nods feeling a chill go down his spine.
"Well, if you have something to say, then say it." Yang says.
"I have something to talk to Gajeel about." A normal sized Exceed, Panther lily says, shocking them, especially Gajeel.
"And I stay with Lily." A similarly, normal sized Faye says.
"Anyway it's about why you three and the other 97 Exceed eggs were sent to Earthland." Shagotte says.
"You mean to kill the Dragon Slayers." Carla says, but Shagotte shakes her head.
"Those were more lies to the Exceed, you shouldn't even know about them. 6 years ago, I foresaw the destruction of Extalia, now we know it was natural, but at that time, we thought it was the humans, so we devised a plan that would allow 100 children to escape, but there was something, we never could've planned for, you Carla, like me you have the ability of foresight." Shagotte says, shocking them, except Siora and Castien. "However, for you it works subconsciously, which ended up wreaking havoc on your memory. Of all 100 Exceed sent to this world, only you had that power. You created fraudulent orders, from fragments of the future, yet your bond with your found family was more powerful than your perceived orders." Shagotte says, smiling.
"We would like to apologize as well, we knew about the foresight as well, and thought, at the time, it was best that you thought we had manipulated you." Nadi and Nichiya say, as the Exceed start flying away, a few help Shagotte, but she's shocked when Carla addresses her.
"With all of the misunderstandings out of the way, it's nice to finally meet you, Mother." Carla says, shocking all of the Exceed, even Yang, Happy, Faye and Lily, and making Shagotte tear up, as Castien and Siora float after them.
"So what'd you need to talk to Gajeel about?" Gray asks, looking at Panther Lily.
"We want to join the Guild that cared for Prince Jellal, I assume you can get us in, like you promised Gajeel." Panther Lily says, and Faye nods alongside him.
"Of course, If I remember right, Fairy Tail will accept anyone." Lisanna says. "Now what are we going to do about me? From what you guys have said, the Guild thinks I'm dead." She says.
"Well I know the first place we need to take you." Natsu says, grabbing ahold of her, and heading to, what Erza and Gray notice is the direction of Cardia Cathedral and smile.
