"There it is!" said Twilight as the girl stood atop a hill. "I can't believe it..."
After trekking for days, our heroes have finally reached their destination: Canterlot City. A special homecoming for our scholar bookworm, Twilight Sparkle. Our heroes have decided to stop by Canterlot City and see what's new on route to their next gym challenger.
"... I'm home!" said Twilight, seeing the city. "Hurry up!"
"Feels like forever since we were last here!" said Sky as he ran.
"Wait for us, Twilight!" said Rarity as she was running out of gas from keeping up.
"Pick up the pace, Rares!" said Applejack as she ran.
"Please, no more running! My hair will get messy!" said the fashionista as she tried to keep up.
The group was in the heart of Canterlot City as many people were walking about. Shops were bustling with business as the new consumers they received each second grew by the mile. The teens were strolling down the sidewalk as Rarity was eating away at the many malls that Twilight's home had.
"I'll say, Twilight. You hit the jackpot living here!" said Rarity, seeing so many clothing stores that she was looking forward to.
"Canterlot City is pretty nice. We have everything you could imagine all right here. Some people even come from all over the region just to stop by." stated the bookworm.
"In any case, why don't you girls go ahead with Twilight? I'm gonna head to the Pokémon to rest up my pals," said Sky as he left.
Twilight led Applejack and Rarity to where the gym as they stood before it.
"Twilight, darling? I thought you were taking us to see your parents?" asked Rarity.
"Yeah."
"But isn't this the gym?" asked the fashionista.
"Yeah, but it's also my home. My big brother is the one that runs the gym. He took over for my father when he decided to retire." explained Twilight.
"Your big brother? The one who's considered the toughest Gym Leader?"
"That's the one, Rares. No joke, he's tough," said Applejack as she recalled Shining Armor's battle with Sky during his first encounter and how he showcased only a tenth of his power.
"Home sweet home! It hasn't changed at all!" said Twilight before climbing the steps with the girls following behind. "Mom! Dad! I'm home!" said the bookworm as she slid open the door to the gym.
"Twilight! It's so good to see you again!" said Spike as he saw his big sister.
"Hi, Spike!" said Twilight as she hugged her little brother tightly. "It's good to see you too! Hope you were behaving while I was gone."
"Yes, Twilight," groaned Spike as he hated his big sister immediately nagging him when she arrived home.
"So, are Mom and Dad home?"
"No, well... Dad's not, at least."
"Oh, that's too bad," responded Twilight.
"Howdy, Spike. How are things?" asked Applejack.
"Oh, it's been okay," said Spike as he looked over and saw Rarity.
"Rarity, meet my baby brother, Spike. Who sometimes can be a handful," stated Twilight.
"Hey! I'm only a handful sometimes!" said Spike, taking pride in that.
"Yeah, sometimes!" scoffed Twilight.
"Uh, Twilight. Something is going on."
"What's the matter?" asked the girl, concerned for her brother.
"Um, well, I don't know if it's serious. But it has to do with Mom and Dad," said Spike.
"Oh!" said Twilight, concerned about what her sibling might be saying.
"My baby!"
The sudden voice caught the attention of the girls and Spike. Behind them was Twilight and Spike's mother.
"Twilight, you're home! I'm so glad. I've missed my little girl so much!" said Velvet as she approached her daughter and hugged her tightly.
"Mom! I'm not a little girl anymore!" said Twilight, feeling slightly embarrassed in front of her friends.
"But you'll always be my little baby to me!" said Velvet as she kissed her daughter's head.
"Howdy, Ms. Velvet!"
"Applejack! So glad you came all this way!" said the woman, seeing the country girl from before.
"Pleasure to make your acquaintance, madam. My name is Rarity."
"Well, any friend of my daughter is alright in my book. Now then, why don't you all come inside and relax!" suggested Velvet.
"Uh, Mom, I was wondering if you knew when Dad would return?" asked Twilight.
"Not right now!" spoke Velvet, almost immediately changing her tone at the mention of her husband.
"Uh..." said the teens, unsure how to respond to the woman's sudden demeanor.
"Mom, what's wrong?" asked Spike.
"Nothing, sweetie. I just need to go back and finish getting lunch ready, that's all!" said Velvet, trying to ease her youngest child's worries. "Now, come along!"
Velvet grabbed Spike's hand and led him and the girls inside. All the while, Twilight had a concerned expression as she was hoping that whatever Spike was trying to say was happening between their parents wasn't something that was going to be horrible.
Sky was shown entering the Pokémon Center's doors as he had managed to find the place.
"Hey! Hello?" shouted the boy as he stepped in.
He immediately stopped with the doors closing behind him as he looked to his left. There, by the counter, was Twilight's father as he seemed to be chatting it up with the woman that ran the Pokémon Center as both were laughing.
"Hey, that Twilight's father!" said the boy, shocked to see him. He started to walk over as he heard the snippet of the conversation they were having.
"Oh, Night Light, are you sure?" smiled the woman.
"Of course! You know I trust you one hundred percent!" said the man.
"Excuse me?" said Sky as he made his presence known.
"Huh?" said both adults in unison as they saw the teen standing there.
"Oh, welcome back, Sky. I was wondering when you would get here," said Night Light as he smiled upon seeing his daughter's friend.
"Thanks. We just arrived, and Twilight took the girls to her home," the boy informed. "So, where's Shining Armor?"
"Unfortunately, my son isn't here right now. He's currently away."
"Oh, well, that's too bad. See, I managed to catch some new Pokémon, and I hoped to have at least another battle with him to show how much stronger I've gotten."
"That's the spirit," said Night Light to Sky as he reminded him of how Shining Armor once was when it came to battling. "Thanks, Hilda. I'll follow up with you soon!" said the man.
"You know you can depend on me anytime, Night Light!" said the nurse.
"Yeah, I know!" smiled the man.
"Sounds like there's a big secret! What's up?" asked Sky.
"Nothing... nothing at all," said Night Light, putting on a fake smile. "Right, Hilda."
The nurse nodded as both winked before letting out a laugh. Sky remained confused as he didn't know what the adults were discussing. Back with the others, they were having lunch as Velvet was in front of a big pot and stirring the stew.
"Eat up, kids. I've made plenty of food!" said Velvet.
"So, Mom, when's dad gonna be home?" asked Twilight, wanting to see her father.
"Dad always comes home for lunch, doesn't he?" added Spike.
"Uh... Not, not today," said Velvet as she looked at her kids before quickly turning around to not address them.
Velvet soon grabbed the spoon and began to stir it furiously. The expression on her face was that of anger and fury as she stirred the stew more harshly than before. The teens caught sight of that as they were worried.
"Uh, Mom... are you okay?" asked Twilight.
Velvet immediately stopped as she heard her daughter.
"Oh, never better, sweetie. Just figured I'd put in some exercises into my housework," said Velvet, putting on a fake smile before she began to lift her arms as the kids were now even more confused and terrified.
After lunch, Spike and the girls headed toward their greenhouse in the back of their home. They entered, and they soon found a quiet spot.
"Spike, what's been going on with Mom and Dad?" asked Twilight, concerned about her parents.
"Well, I don't know. See, it all started one day when..."
"Ahh!" shouted Rarity.
"What?!" said everyone else.
"What is that?!" shouted the fashionista as she pointed.
The group turned their heads in the direction of Rarity's finger. Standing there was a huge panda-like Pokémon. It had gray and white fur and a large, fat belly. Its eyes were black, with a branch in its mouth and a furred cape.
"That's just my Dad's Pangoro," said Twilight as Rarity was scared for nothing.
"Let's see," said Applejack as she pulled out her Pokédex.
"Pangoro, the Daunting Pokémon, and the evolved form of Pancham. The bamboo leaf Pangoro keeps in its mouth helps track its opponent's movements. Its respect for authority is based on battle prowess- a Trainer might have to test physical strength before this Pokémon listens."
The giant panda responded as he knew of his Trainer's kids.
"You know, I've never been inside Dad's greenhouse before when he wasn't in here with me. It's kind of cool, huh?" said Spike to his sister.
"This greenhouse is where we hold all of my brother's Pokémon and my dad's," said Twilight to Aj and Rarity.
"That's pretty cool," stated Applejack.
"Hi, Pangroro!" said Spike as he approached the giant panda, who merely patted the small boy's head.
"Growing up, our father never let me and Shining Armor watch his gym battles," said Twilight.
"How come, darling?" asked Rarity.
"He was afraid that we might distract the challengers."
"Well, that kinda makes sense, but being unable to see your father in action must have been frustrating for you two," said Applejack.
"Not really, we understood! We knew from the beginning that a good gym leader is a strict gym leader, and he always had time to play with us after his battles. It's why Shining Armor is the way he is. Cause he learned from my dad. When Spike came around, Shining Armor started his training to take over for my father. And soon, my brother allowed us all to see in and watch."
"No wonder you're one big happy family," said Aj, admiring how close Twilight was with her kin.
"So, Spike... what's been going on with Mom and Dad?" asked Twilight.
"Well, I don't know. See, lately, Dad has been going to the Pokémon Center every day, and it seems like Mom is always mad and yelling at him about nothing. Not to mention he comes home late."
"What? But a lot of people go to the Pokémon Center every day. And many people yell." said Twilight, applying logic to her brother's claims.
"Then how come Mom won't talk about it?" asked Spike.
While this was happening, in their bedroom, Velvet was digging through her closet, and she furiously pulled out some clothes. She dumped them all on the bed as next to them was a suitcase filled with clothes and other stuff. The woman looked at the nightstand as there was a picture of her and Night Light when they were younger.
In the picture, it was a lovely night with the stars above them as it showed a younger Night Light bending down on one knee and asking Velvet for her hand in marriage. The woman saw the picture as it seemed to remind her of something. She turned it over and placed it on the nightstand.
"Hey, I found you!" said Sky as he pushed aside some bushes in the greenhouse and saw the girls and Spike.
"Oh, hey, Sky," responded Twilight.
"By the way, Twilight. I saw your father."
"You did? Where?" asked the girl.
"Over by the Pokémon Center," answered the boy, as he didn't realize what he had just said.
His response got the attention of Spike and the girls as they exchanged looks.
"Twilight?" asked Spike.
"That's just a coincidence. There's no way. Right? Maybe? I'm gonna go find out!" said the girl as she and the others ran past Sky.
"What? Was it something I said?" questioned the boy.
"Pango!" said Pangoro as Sky took notice of the giant panda next to him.
"Hey, it's a Pangoro!" said the teen.
While everyone else headed to the Pokémon Center, Sky stuck around in the greenhouse to see what other Pokémon lived there. He was currently following Pangoro as soon he happened upon some more.
"Hey, that's Crawdaunt!" said the boy.
Near a pond was a red crab Pokémon with a golden star on its forehead. It had large claws, and the bottom of these claws was tan. Its feet had two claws each, and it had a large tail. There was a blue stripe in the middle of its tan belly.
"Crawdaunt, the Rogue Pokémon, and the evolved form of Corphish. Crawdaunt puts up a tough front, but if it happens to injure one of its pincers in battle, it hastily retreats in fear. It won't show its face again until the pincer is completely healed."
"That's cool," said Sky when he noticed something else.
Near a tree, there was a mainly red, ape-like Pokémon. Its body was rounded and powerfully built, with large tan-colored fists, long forelegs, and short hind legs. It had a wide, toothy, relatively manic-looking grin etched on its face, large round eyes with black pupils, and long flaming eyebrows. Its bared teeth were sharp like fangs. Its upper body was bulkier than its lower body and had a stubby, pointed tail. It had three tan ovular patches on its chest, just below its grinning mouth. The Pokémon was currently climbing a tree as it reached for some berries.
"What Pokémon is that?" said the boy, lifting his Pokédex.
"Darmanitan, the Blazing Pokémon and the evolved form of Darumaka. Fueled by its internal fire, Darmanitan can throw a punch hard enough to destroy a dump truck. To recover from a serious battle, it turns to stone to meditate undisturbed."
Another Pokémon appeared as it was a small plant/human-like Pokémon. It had fully bloomed flowers at the ends of its arms, three on each arm, appearing like bouquets. It had a long cape-like leaf on its back. It also had a single leaf present between its legs. Around its neck was a yellow "collar," and white rose petals appeared as hair on its head. A leaf was covering the top of its face, making it appear to be wearing a mask.
"And what are you?" wondered Sky.
"Roserade, the Boutique Pokémon and the evolved form of Roselia. With its beautiful blooms, enticing aroma, and graceful movements, Roserade is quite enchanting - but watch out! Its arms conceal thorny whips, and the thorns carry poison."
"Wow. So, I'm guessing you all belong to Twilight's father?" asked Sky to the Pokémon as they all just went about their business which the boy took a sign as yes.
The teen continued to watch the Pokémon doing their thing as soon a thought popped into his mind.
"If there's a problem, what's taking them so long?" wondered Sky.
Meanwhile, with the others...
Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, and Spike all made it to the Pokémon Center as they were looking to find the siblings' father. Sure enough, as soon as they entered, there was Night Light; he was leaning against the counter and chatting with Hilda, the pair laughing and smiling.
"You're kidding!" said Hilda.
"No, really!" responded Night Light as they kept smiling.
"Seems Spike is right," said Applejack.
"No, I... I don't believe it," said Twilight as she couldn't believe what she saw.
"Well, look, it's Spike and Twilight. Hi, kids!" said Night Light as he turned and saw his children.
"Hi, Dad," responded the girl hesitantly to her father.
"I heard you've been having some adventures since you left. Hope you're okay?" said Night Light.
"Mmm," responded Twilight.
"What's wrong, sweetie? Do you feel okay?" asked the man to his daughter.
"Well,... not really," mumbled the girl softly.
"Twilight, what's wrong? Talk to me, sweetie," said Night Light as he could see something was bothering her.
"Uh, Dad..." said Twilight as she was about to talk to her father about something.
"Night Light!" shouted Velvet.
"Uh, Mom?!" said the siblings as their mother appeared and stood before them, glaring at her husband with her suitcase in hand.
"Honey, what's wrong?" asked Night Light as he saw his wife. "Where are you going with that suitcase?"
"I'm going anywhere but here!" declared Velvet.
Everyone was shocked when they heard that, especially Twilight and Spike.
"Velvet!" responded Night Light.
Both kids looked back and forth between their parents as they waited to see what would happen next.
"Well, do you need any help with your luggage?" asked Night Light to his wife.
"Ahh!" responded the siblings and Velvet, as Night Light didn't understand what was implied.
"Pardon me, Mr. Sparkle, but I believe what your wife is trying to say is that she's leaving," said Rarity.
"Right, I'm just wondering where she's going," said Night Light, seemingly still not getting the point.
"I just told you. Anywhere but here!" said Velvet.
"Okay, then I guess I'll have Shining Armor and Spike handle kitchen duty," said Night Light.
"Ahh!" responded Night Light's family, "How can you be so incredibly dense?!"
"Seems even the smartest guys aren't that bright," mumbled Applejack to Rarity as they could see that Night Light was just like Twilight at times.
"Yes, well, not all men can understand women," responded Rarity as they went back to watching what was playing out with the family.
"What do I have to do, draw a map?!" yelled Velvet.
"Yeah, okay. That could be helpful," said Night Light to his wife.
"To think I loved you with all my heart. We took vows that we would be together till the end. No matter what, we would always be there for each other. But I guess I was a fool for ever loving you, " said Velvet, trying not to cry in front of her kids. "But fortunately, now, my eyes are wide open! Don't worry about me, kids! I'll be just fine."
"But, mom?" said Twilight as Spike was starting to have tears slowly form.
"Thanks! It was really thoughtful of you to have us deal with this and fight in front of the kids on our wedding anniversary!" said Velvet to her husband.
"That's right... today's your 20th wedding anniversary," said Twilight as she recalled that this was the day her father proposed to her mother almost twenty years ago.
"Well, I didn't. But I should have expected it from your father," scoffed Velvet.
"Then, Mom. Please don't leave!" said Twilight as she pleaded with her mother to stay. "Please, try to work this out with Dad!"
"Knock it off!" yelled Spike as he started to let the tears he was holding back come out. "Mom, you're not giving Dad the benefit of the doubt! Dad is the best person in the whole world! And he's my hero too!"
"Yes, I know, Spike," said Velvet as she sighed. It pained her to see her youngest son having to see this.
Spike approached Night Light as he buried his face into his father's shirt. The boy cried as Night Light patted his son's head and hugged him.
"Don't cry, Spike," said Night Light as he rubbed his son's back. "Everything's okay."
"You sure?" asked Spike, as he didn't want to see his parents go.
"Of course," nodded Night Light, "Especially cause now I know what everyone is talking about."
"Dad, I don't think this is something to smile about," said Twilight.
"I'm sorry, Twily. But just know, there's been a huge misunderstanding."
"Huh?" responded everyone.
"What do you say we all head home, and I'll explain on the way?" suggested Night Light.
The group was heading back to the greenhouse as Night Light explained himself.
"So, I'm sure you're wondering what this is about. Well, first, let me tell you about the night that I asked Twilight and Spike's mother to marry me," said Night Light as he reminisced that most special moment in his life.
(Flashback)
"Nighty, where are you taking me?" asked a younger Velvet.
"Just trust me, Velvet," said a younger Night Light as she had his girlfriend wearing a blindfold while he stood her with his arms on her waist.
The young man continued to guide his girlfriend in a field full of flowers. The young couple had plans tonight to celebrate how long they'd been dating as Night Light had a surprise in store for Velvet.
"Okay, just a little farther."
"Nighty!" said Velvet, as she started losing her patience with her boyfriend.
"Okay, now, you can look," said Night Light as he removed the blindfold.
Velvet felt the fabric being taken off as she opened her eyes. Upon first glance, she gasped. Before the girl, there was a tree. And next to it was a picnic blanket with candles lit all around and some roses in the center. Night Light was standing there with a bottle of wine and some glasses.
"Nighty... what..."
"Well, I'd figured I make the 2,578th date that we've been on special," said Night Light as he sat down and poured some of the bottle's contents into a glass.
"Only 2,578? Feels like we've been on more," chuckled Velvet as she sat beside the young man and took a glass.
"A toast. To the most beautiful girl I ever looked at. And, a stellar author, I might add." said Night Light.
"Such a charmer, Nighty," said Velvet as she lifted her glass.
The pair lifted their glasses and clinked. Night Light then tossed out a Pokéball as out popped a small, green Pokémon with poisonous thorns on its head, and each of its hands bloomed red and blue roses. The Pokémon also wielded a single-leaf with a yellow stripe running down it, covering the torso, thigh, and partially the legs.
"Roselia!" said the Pokémon as she appeared.
Roselia then began to make its Petal Blizzard attack as the petals of the roses began to lift into the air and surround the loving pair. Velvet saw this and couldn't help but smile. Soon the petals began to respond to Roselia's command as the Pokémon was having the petals make a shape. They took the form of Velvet's face before changing into a heart with an arrow shot through. Lastly, the petals began to form as this time, they weren't creating an image, but rather some words.
The words took shape as writing was formed. They held in the night sky as Velvet saw them and began to read.
"Velvet, my dear. I am so happy that you came into my life. I'm the luckiest man; I have one question to ask you..."
Velvet saw a rose arrow pointing downward as she followed it, and to her surprise, there was Night Light at her side. The young man was on a knee with his hands out as inside one of them was a box. The lid was open, and inside was a diamond ring. The young woman gasped as she put two and two together and realized what the young man was doing. She covered her mouth as Night Light took his free hand to grab her right as he began to speak.
"Velvet, we've been together for so long that I can honestly say that... I need, no... I want you in my life. You... are the most beautiful, creative, passionate woman I've ever seen. I'll always remember our first meeting when I stumbled upon your book signing. I was starting out as a Gym Leader from my father, but ever since we first met, you've brought a ray of sunshine into my life that I never thought was possible. You've been there for me when I needed support. I can't express how much that means to me. How much you mean to me. I may not know our future, but I know that whatever our future will be, we do it... together. So, I have but one question... Twilight Velvet, will you make me the happiest man alive? And will you marry me?"
"YES! YES!" yelled Velvet as she immediately answered.
She didn't wait for Night Light to slip the ring as she tackled him to the ground and began to hug him tightly. Night Light was caught off guard by Velvet's response. He was even more unprepared as Velvet pulled his lips to hers and began to kiss him fiercely.
Night Light was shocked but soon fell into it as he had arms around the girl he had just proposed to. Now swapping spit, the young couple opened their mouths to each other and allowed them to explore the other. After a long makeout, the pair pulled their lips apart to gain air. But with the lust in their eyes, the story was told. Night Light sat up with Velvet in his lap as he stroked her cheek. Velvet moaned at Night Light's touch as he grabbed her right hand. He grabbed the ring box and took the thing out; Night Light then slid the diamond onto Velvet's finger as it shined and sparkled brightly in the moonlight.
"It's beautiful," said Velvet, admiring the thing on her finger.
"Yeah, but... nothing pales in comparison to your beauty, my lovely fiance," said Night Light.
"Nighty... you've made me the happiest girl tonight. I would love to spend the rest of my life with you. I would love nothing more than to raise a family with you." said Velvet as she leaned in to kiss him again.
"I promise that till death do us part. I will always love you," said Night Light.
"As will I!" responded Velvet.
The young couple's shadows were shown against the moon as the stars above them shined even brighter. A shooting star flew through the night sky as everything faded to black. The pair looked forward to the future and what was to come.
(End of Flashback)
"That sounds so romantic," said Rarity as she listened to Night Light tell his story. The girl couldn't help but be swayed by what he did to Velvet as she imagined her prince charming doing something like that.
"Yes, well... it was special," admitted Velvet as she looked at her finger.
The ring Night Light had proposed and given to her that night and how it was to be a sign of their unity. She couldn't help but smile as nearly 20 years of marriage flooded her mind as she was reminded of how wonderful it was, especially with them raising their children. It was some of the most wonderful memories she had ever made.
"And seeing how special that night was twenty years ago, I decided that today's anniversary needed something special," said Night Light.
"Then what's with you constantly going to the Pokémon Center and coming home so late?" asked Twilight.
"I believe I can answer that," said Hilda, as the nurse was also with them. "See, it just so happens that apart from running the Pokémon Center here in Canterlot City, I'm also married to a pyrotechnician who taught me how to handle fireworks."
"You're a pyrotechnician?!" said the kids.
"You're married?!" shouted Velvet.
"Yup. So when Night Light here asked for my help to put on a fabulous firework display to celebrate him and his wife's anniversary, I couldn't say no. But he promised that I wouldn't tell anybody."
"What?!" said Velvet, even more in shock.
"Speaking of which," said Night Light as they approached the greenhouse.
"Hey, guys!" shouted Sky as the boy was outside the greenhouse standing beside a man wearing a hard hat. "Hey, Night Light. Some guy is here for you. Talking about some fireworks or something?" said the teen as Hilda's husband had arrived at the place just a few moments ago and was wondering where Night Light was.
"I take it you're Night Light?" asked the man.
"Yes, sir. Sorry for the delay. There was a little trouble." chuckled Night Light as he rubbed his head.
"Well, if you're set, I can begin working on those fireworks immediately," said the man.
The sun set a few moments later, and a table was full of food and juice. Hilda and her husband were near the firework machine as they were doing some last-minute maintenance. After running the schematics on his tablet, Hilda's husband gave his wife a thumbs up as she nodded.
"Alright, all set!" shouted Hilda.
"Thank you! Alright, everyone ready for something special?" asked Night Light to the kids.
"Yeah!" said Sky, wanting to see some fireworks.
With the flick of a switch and the push of a button, the fireworks began to shoot out. One by one, they sailed upward as they exploded into the night sky. The stars shone above as the fireworks added to their sparkle, making them glow brighter. When they reached their maximum height and exploded, some fireworks created images of Pokémon.
"Wow!" said the kids as they watched the incredible light show.
"Giving fireworks as a special present is about the most romantic thing I've ever heard of," said Rarity, as she couldn't help but be in awe.
"You said it, Rares," smiled Applejack as they continued to look up at the light show going off.
"Nighty."
"Velvet."
The man wrapped his arm around his wife's waist and pulled her close.
"Nighty, please forgive me. How could I have ever doubted you? I was a fool to think you were cheating. I should have known that you were faithful. I'm sorry... please take me back?" asked Velvet.
"Shouldn't I be the one asking you that?" chuckled Night Light as Velvet couldn't help but laugh as well. "I'm not angry at you, honey. I understand why you were angry. But know, I just wanted to surprise you, that's all. Just like I did twenty years ago. How could I stay mad at the prettiest girl I'd ever met?"
"Still a charmer," said Velvet as she leaned in and kissed her husband.
The pair held their kiss for a few seconds as Twilight and Spike watched. The two siblings hugged each other as they were glad to see their parents were back together and loving each other like they always were.
"I'm just glad it's made you so happy," said Night Light to his wife.
"Looking back on all this, I'm so glad you kept it a secret," smiled Velvet to her husband as she had some red forming on her cheeks. Night Light also experienced the same thing as he tightened his embrace of his wife.
"Happy anniversary, Velvet."
"Happy anniversary, Nighty."
"It's so refreshing that our parents are in love!" said Twilight with a smile.
"See, Twilight? I told you so," said Spike as his sister glared at her annoying brother for saying he didn't once believe in their father.
"Talk about a wild adventure," said Sky.
"You said it, sugarcube," responded Aj as she playfully bumped his shoulder with hers as they laughed.
Author's Note: So we finally have arrived back in Twilight's home. And a bit of a wild and crazy adventure involving a small misunderstanding. But nonetheless, everything worked out in the end for Night Light and Velvet and being able to celebratetheir wedding anniversary. Plus, a look at some of the Pokémon that Night Light raised during his Gym Leader days. Don't worry, there's still more to come for our heroes while staying in Canterlot City.
