Chapter 23: Mystery of the New Moon and the Black-Haired Inuyasha Part One

"Ugh! I miss the water! Man, did I ever take our ship for granted! Whoever really enjoys walking is truly messed up in the head!" Kagome complained shaking her head, they had been walking for over half a day and it was really starting to get to, not only Kagome, but to everyone else as well.

All but Koga grunted in agreement, before Koga joined Naraku he walked everywhere - town to town, city to city - He has walked to almost every place known to mankind, so he was pretty much used to walking long distances. "If you'd like I could carry you, Kagome." He said grabbing her hand.

"Eh, that's okay Koga." Kagome laughed nervously trying to get her hand out of Koga's grip as Inuyasha growled behind them.

"You needn't worry about dog-breath, I could take him." Koga said smugly not letting Kagome's hand go, earning him a louder growl.

Before Kagome could say anything Inuyasha grabbed her other hand jerking her back and keeping his arm around her shoulders like he was shielding her from Koga. "Didn't you hear her you scrawny wolf? She doesn't want your filthy hands all over her."

"Shut it you mangy mutt!" Koga growled back.

Inuyasha felt more than heard the growl that was rising from Kagome's chest showing that she also took offense to the derogatory name, he tightened his arm around her shoulders bringing her closer to his chest. "Ya do know that calling me all those names is also calling Kagome those names as well."

Koga gasped taking a step back before regaining his cocky composure. "You actually think I'd call Kagome that?" He growled. "Never, never not my Kagome, I'd never call her that!"

Inuyasha released a growl but before he could say anything a metal saw came toward them. Picking up Kagome, Inuyasha and the other just barely dodged the saw before another saw and then another came after them."

"What the hell is going on?" Miroku asked.

"Ginkotsu." Was the only thing Koga being able to say as they had to dodge another attack of flying metal saws.

"Gash!" Inuyasha and the others heard a metallic voice as five men showed up in front of them.

"Oh shit." Sango muttered.

"W-who are they?" Shippo asked as he hid behind Inuyasha.

"That's the Band of Seven." Koga answered just before Jakotsu released his snake like sword that they just barely managed to dodge.

"Oh, can I have the one with the sexy doggy ears, big brother?" Jakotsu purred as he liked his lips.

"No, you take the other half-breed, Inuyasha is mine." Bankotsu answered.

"And I'll take Miroku." Kyokotsu said.

"Gash!" Ginkotsu hissed indicating that he wanted to fight Koga.

"Oh, this isn't fair, Bankotsu, the one's left are women!" Jakotsu pouted then sighed. "I guess I'll take on Kagome then."

"And I'll take on the other woman." Suikotsu said.

"Okay, now that that's settle, prepare to die Inuyasha." Bankotsu called out pointing his giant sword towards Inuyasha.

"I don't know who the hell you guys think you are." Inuyasha said as he took his sword out of his sheath transforming it into a giant fang shaped sword and pointing it at the group of men. "But if you've came here for your deaths then you've come to the right place."

"Enough talk, let's fight!" Bankotsu called out as he started running toward Inuyasha with his brothers running after him to their respective sparing partners.

*Miroku's Fight*

Miroku got into fighting stance when he saw the men running towards them, though, he faltered a little as he watched a gigantic man with green spikey hair stop right in front of him and pop his neck as he grinned evilly.

"Oh, shit." Miroku whispered as he craned his head back to peer up at the man's face. "Anyone want to switch with me?" He asked not receiving an answer, not that he was expecting one.

"What's wrong, pretty boy, too scared to fight me?" Kyokotsu chuckled. "This will be a fast fight then." He said as he brought his giant fist down right in front of Miroku sending him flying through the air.

Thinking quick, Miroku twisted his body into a back flip so he could land on his feet. "Okay, what do I do?" He whispered to himself. "He as to have a weakness somewhere." He added as he looked closely at the giant man before seeing a single sheet of metal plate that was resting over his forehead, while the rest of his body was without any metal. "That has to be it. Now, to find a way to make him fall."

Miroku took a mental note of all his weapons that he had on him as he dodged a fist that was sent his way. He felt around his hips and noted that he had a rope and his sword but cursed under his breath when he realized that he left his pistol on the ship. Taking out his sword from the sheath before taking a gulp and looking toward his target, watching as Kyokotsu started to laugh.

"That all you got, little man?" Kyokotsu asked as he laughed out loud. "That puny sword isn't going to do anything to me!" He said as he swiped his hand at Miroku that had started running toward him flinging him off to the side making him crash into a huge rock, laughing as he watched Miroku crumble to the ground. Slamming his huge hand down next to him as he tried to stand up causing him to be thrown into the air, on his way down Kyokotsu grabbed him in a crushing grip and brought Miroku closer to his face.

"Come on and put up a fight!" Kyokotsu laughed as Miroku struggled to get in a good breath and fight his way out of the strong grip around him. "I'm not even breaking a sweat." He said as he tightened his hold on the man struggling in his hand.

Yelling out in pain and struggling to stay conscious Miroku racked his brain trying to find a way out of his predicament he found himself in. In a last ditch effort, and not really having any other idea, he brought his foot up with as much force as he could and connected a hard kick to Kyokotsu's chin.

Grunting in pain as his head snapped back from the force of the kick that was delivered to his chin and fell to his back, Kyokotsu dropped Miroku as he popped his neck back into place before standing up. However, before he could stand Miroku had jumped on his head, removing the metal plate from his forehead but before he could drive his sword into Kyokotsu's forehead he was slapped off sending him flying through the air once again.

"You're really starting to irritate me little man." Kyokotsu grunted as he stood up.

"I could say the same thing about you." Miroku said standing to his feet as well as wiping the blood that dribbled out of his mouth. Standing upright he got his sword ready before throwing it like a dart while a fist was coming his direction. Getting hit in the face by Kyokotsu's fist, Miroku was sent flying backwards but barely hung on to consciousness as he watched as his sword struck Kyokotsu in between his eyes and effectively taking his life just as unconsciousness consumed Miroku in darkness.

*Sango's Fight*

Sango squared up against her opponent which was a man with black spikey hair and green war paint painted on his face, he didn't exactly have a lot of muscles but Sango knew this man was very strong just by the way he held himself.

As Suikotsu raised his hand getting ready to attack Sango saw three sharp blades coming out of his knuckles, gulping she tightened her grip on her giant boomerang preparing to fight.

Noticing Sango's nervous gulp Suikotsu smirked. "What's wrong, little girl, afraid that I might cut you?"

Scoffing to herself but otherwise staying silent as she heft out a grunt as she threw her boomerang toward Suikotsu but gasped in shock at how fast he moved out of the line of fire. Barely catching it before using it as a guard to miss being cut to bits.

Suikotsu swiped at Sango's boomerang again knocking it out of her hand and sending it off to the side, she followed the boomerang with her eyes seeing Miroku getting thrown into a boulder and watching as he crumpled to the ground. "Mir-ahh!" She started to call Miroku's name but quickly had to dodge another swipe from Suikotsu.

"Pay attention girly, I might accidently scratch you." Suikotsu laughed as he charged at her again.

Sango got her sword out and went to dodge yet another attack but wasn't fast and was slashed on her upper arm. Crying out and dropping her sword in sheer pain.

"Oops, did I get you?" Suikotsu asked sarcastically as he licked some of Sango's blood off one of the blades.

Gnashing her teeth together in pain, Sango used her good arm to grab her pistol out of its holder and aimed it at Suikotsu before firing. Cursing under her breath as she watched as Suikotsu side stepped the bullet.

"Got to move faster than that!" Suikotsu growled out as he ran towards Sango raising his hand to strike her again slashing her on the leg as she tried to jump out of the way. As he was relishing in her screams of agony his relishing soon turned into a grunt of pain as he felt something pierce his thigh.

"Oops," Sango said with a smirk as she lowered her pistol, "did I get you? You better pay more attention, or I'll accidently shot you again."

"Heh." Suikotsu heft out. "You're going to regret that wench." Although, he didn't get time to make work on his promise as he grunted out once again and struggled to catch his breath. He looked down as blood started to run down his chest and he fell down to the ground, dead.

"You gotta move faster than that, asshole." Sango muttered out as she put her pistol back in its holder and picked up her sword off the ground to put back in its sheath.

*Koga's Fight*

Before Koga could really ready himself Ginkotsu sent his saw like blades his way. Jumping out of the way but not quick enough as he felt the cold metal slice at his body.

"Damn it!" Koga cursed as his feet hit the ground he sprinted, jumped up in the air and landed a swift hard kick to the cyborgs face.

Ginkotsu's head snapped back, however, what Koga wasn't expecting was the deep metallic laugh that filled the air. "You have to do better than that." He said as he popped his neck back into place.

Koga watched horrified as two cannon like things came out of Ginkotsu's back and aimed right at him firing multiple small missiles his direction. Doing a zig zag maneuverer he dodged all the missile explosions.

"Gash." Ginkotsu sighed. "Stop moving." He said as he fired another round of missiles along with his saws.

"Heh." Koga grunted doing his best to not to get to cut up from the blades, though he didn't get away totally unscathed. He got cut up more from the blades and got trapped in an explosion from one of the missiles. When the smoke and debris cleared Koga was lying on the ground unconscious.

"Ga-ha-hash." Ginkotsu laughed, thinking that he had won the match so he walked to where Koga was to really finish the job. He pointed his cannon gun at him and was about to fire at him to officially end his life, however, he wasn't expecting that right at the moment that he was about to fire Koga opened his eyes and shoved a large rock that he was holding onto into the cannon gun making the gun explode.

Taking several steps back with his arms over his face, Ginkotsu regained his footing brining down his arms showing his face that was burned from the explosion. "Gash, you're getting annoying."

"And your metallic voice is getting annoying!" Koga said getting to his feet before running toward Ginkotsu before jumping high up into the air. "So, hurry up and die!" He said as his foot connected with the metal mans face knocking him off his feet. As his feet landed on the ground he took his sword out of its sheath and went to jam it through Ginkotsu's throat, however, he didn't get the chance as a strong fist connected with his gut making him fly back.

Ginkotsu got back on his feet as Koga struggled getting to his feet.

"Damn." Koga muttered as his vision started to blur. "I'm losing to much blood. I have to hurry and finish this before I pass out." Getting to his feet, not without a sway before he found his footing, he raised his sword pointing it at Ginkotsu. "Prepare to die, bastard!"

"Ga-ha-hash, you have no chance." Ginkotsu laughed closing his eyes, however, his laughter turned to a gurgling noise as Koga pushed his sword through Ginkotsu's neck before pulling it out and being showered in Ginkotsu's blood before promptly passing out from the blood loss.

*Kagome's Fight*

Not wasting anytime, Jakotsu unsheathe his sword and sent it soaring toward Kagome.

Jumping out of the way just in the nick of time of being slashed up by the sword, Kagome quickly took her sword out and charged at Jakotsu while dodging several more attacks from his snake like sword.

"Would you hold still, woman?" Jakotsu called out. "Hurry up and die!" He yelled as he sent his sword towards Kagome once again effectively wrapping her up in his sword. "Heh, one tug and you'll be dead, and I'll be able to watch my beloved Inuyasha die."

"No such luck!" Kagome growled out as she worked her way out of the vices of the sword, not without cuts to her body, before jumping toward the unsuspecting Jakotsu punching him hard in the face sending him flying back.

Jakotsu did several back flips before stopping on his feet bringing his hand up to rub at his jaw. "You stupid wench! Can't you just fucking die!?" He yelled as he raised his hand and sent his snake like sword at Kagome once again, however, Kagome jumped out of the way in time missing getting cut again by the blade by just inches.

When Kagome landed back on the ground she used her wind powers knocking Jakotsu back several feet and making him loses his grip on his sword.

"Hey! No fair! You can't use your powers!" Jakotsu pouted as he got back to his feet.

"Oh, and using your damn sword is fair? I'm a pirate, we never play by the rules." Kagome said as she sent another gust of wind toward Jakotsu.

"Damn you woman!" Jakotsu cursed running back to get his sword.

Kagome sent another gust of wind but didn't send it fast enough as Jakotsu regained his grip on his sword.

Regaining his footing Jakotsu swung his arm toward Kagome sending his sword at her in attempt to end her life. He watched as Kagome jumped out of the way of the sword, however, that didn't deter him as he brought his sword back only to unleash it toward her once again. Over and over, again and again, strike after strike, Jakotsu didn't let up on his attacks and in doing so not letting Kagome have enough time to deliver her own attack as she was too busy trying not to get turned into human sushi by Jakotsu.

Kagome cursed every time she felt a slice from Jakotsu's sword but didn't stop in trying to dodge the attacks and trying to figure out how the hell she was going to get out of this one. Thinking quickly, she jumped as high as she could, using her wind power to knock him down on his back again.

"Damn it! Would you stop that wench!?" Jakotsu yelled as he tried to get up off his back, however, Kagome was still using her power to keep him pinned down on the ground.

"Would you shut up!?" Kagome yelled as her feet touched the ground again and coming up with an idea she gripped her sword and walked toward where Jakotsu was pinned on the ground. "And since you want to dress and act like a girl, let me help you be more girl like!" She snarled as she jammed her sword into his manhood effectively severing his penis from his body.

Letting out a high pitch shriek, Jakotsu passed out from the pain and Kagome left him there knowing that he'll bleed out from the wound.

*Inuyasha's Fight*

Inuyasha had his sword out and ready by the time Bankotsu stopped in front of him with his own huge sword at the ready. Inuyasha looked at the sun that was quickly setting and silently cursed to himself.

"Can we hurry this up because I have better things to do than to waste my time fighting with you." Inuyasha growled.

"I could say the same thing!" Bankotsu replied as he swung his arm down and unleashed waves of pink electricity. "So, let's hurry up and get this over with!"

Inuyasha thrusted his sword into the ground to hide behind it, once the electricity waves were gone Inuyasha jerked his sword out of the ground before unleashing his own yellow electricity waves as he yelled out "wind scar!"

At the same time Bankotsu had unleashed his pink waves and the waves met in the middle seeming to battle each other before they both disperse, one not stronger than the other.

Right as the waves disappeared the two men ran at each other clashing swords once they met in the middle.

"There's no way you can win, so hurry up and lose already!" Bankotsu yelled as he swiped his sword at Inuyasha just for the half-demon to block it with his own sword.

"Shut up!" Inuyasha grunted. "The only one that's going to be losing is you!" He said as he released some of his demonic energy into his sword before striking Bankotsu's, in result an explosion went off and pushed the two away from each other and Inuyasha to unfortunately lose grip of his sword.

As Bankotsu regained his footing he brought his sword up and pointed it straight toward the ski as a giant ball of red flames formed at the tip of the sword. Bringing his arm down he sent to fire orb directly toward Inuyasha, only to smirk as he brought up his sheath and hold it in front of him.'

"That sheath isn't going to save yo-" Bankotsu stopped talking in shock because as the fire ball hit Inuyasha it split in half, not even touching its target.

Running to get his sword Bankotsu unleashed his pink waves once again, however, this time Inuyasha didn't have enough time to dodge and got caught head on in the blast.

"Ha!" Bankotsu barked out his laughter when the dust cleared and he saw Inuyasha laying motionless on the ground. "Our time was short but sweet, thanks for the battle." He said as he turned to walk away but stopped in confusion when he saw movement coming from Inuyasha. "Huh?" He grunted as he watched Inuyasha stand up gripping on his sword tightly.

"It'll take more than that to take me out." Inuyasha huffed out in pain.

"Why aren't you dead!?" Bankotsu growled out.

"Keh, I'm built differently." He said then noticed that Bankotsu was looking all around them, turning his head to see what he saw - he saw all of Bankotsu's men were down and a couple of his were down too which were being tended to by the ones who were still conscious.

"You killed all my men." Bankotsu whispered as he brought his sword over his head as electricity started to go off all around him. "You all will pay with your lives!" He yelled as the power of the electricity built up.

Thinking quickly, while Bankotsu was distracted, Inuyasha released his wind scar at the unsuspecting man cutting him clean through with one of the electric waves. With all the Band of Seven dead, Inuyasha didn't have time to hide away from Koga's eyes as the sun sunk beneath the horizon and his hair turned from silver to black, his eyes from gold to dark brown, his dog ears changed to human ears.

Koga's, who just woke up right before Inuyasha's transformation started, eyes grew wide and his mouth dropped open as he watched the transformation. "What happened to you mutt?"

"Once a month half demons lose their demon blood and this is Inuyasha's night." Miroku explained just gaining consciousness when the transformation was done.

"Shut up, Miroku!" Inuyasha yelled glaring at Miroku then turned his glare to Koga. "And you, if you tell anyone about this I'll kill you!"

"Okay! Enough with the death threats today!" Kagome ordered as she cleaned Sango's wounds. "Let's just find somewhere to camp so we can better take care of our wounds."
