After so much talk about Nathan and Elizabeth being "just friends," I thought it might be fun to do a one-shot of their story inspired by the experts on friendship - Friends. Just some silliness to hopefully give you a smile as we wait for Season 11.

This is one take on how season 8 SHOULD have gone. Elizabeth's eyes are opened by an incident at the saloon and a chance encounter with Constable Grant. Word of caution- I despise Lucas, so his character developement will be far from flattering.

This is a Jack and Elizabeth modern romance set in Chicago, Illinois. Jack is a cardiothoracic surgeon, and Elizabeth is a social services supervisor. Upon a mutual breakup at the train station Lucas writes letters to both Elizabeth and Nathan After realizing that his calling was to serve the people in the political arena he knows that Elizabeth requires her to stay where she is. He had expected to be more upset but somehow he felt a peace about it and was excited about what else the future might hold for him.

Season 9. A devastated Nathan looks to recenter his life. Faith learns that medicine cannot heal a broken heart. Elizabeth and Little Jack embark on a new journey as they bring Lucas into the fold. My apologies for this late posting on the afternoon of the finale, but this story grew and, much as I tired, I could not delete in the editing process.
