Guido Mista is not happy about this chapter.

Once again, there were no reviews in between chapters.

If you're wondering when I'm gonna go to the other path, it's probably gonna be when we defeat Sheik, probably.

Anyways, let's get into it!

Chapter Date: May 10th 2023

Chapter 4: Race Trackin', Part 1

Vs. Inkling (5th alternate costume)

Spirit: Octoling

Conditions:

- Stamina battle

- Enemy favors neutral specials

-Final Fantasy VII-

Midgar (Battlefield form)

Akira and Villager appear onstage.

"Four enemies?" Akira panics a bit.

"Hey, at least we're two, and they're probably just only going to shoot ink from their guns." The latter replies.

"A-Actually, yeah, the conditions did say that they're literally just going to spam that move, after all."

Ready?

Both Akira and Villager get in a fighting stance.

GO!

Octoweaponry

The Inkling clone on the upper platform immediately shoots, but Akira and Villager just step back. "Actually, if they keep only doing that… I think this is gonna be easy." The teen says as he throws his spear towards the same Inkling, jumps, grabs back his spear and turns it into a magic rod, thrusting it forwards as it blasts magic from its tip, launching the Inkling clone backwards a bit before it fires its gun again, but Akira dodges the ink (to behind Inkling), pulling out a parasol and thrusting it forwards, sending the enemy towards Villager, who detonates fireworks, launching the Inkling clone flying up, and the teen follows it up by thrusting his spear upwards mid-air, leaving her with less than 10 stamina.

Akira goes to attack the rest of the enemies by diving downwards into the ground while spinning his parasol rapidly, hitting multiple times. But when he tries to attack again he gets shot by the enemies, getting covered in ink. "Eugh…" He says disgusted before grabbing the nearest enemy with one hand. "Take this!" He lifts the enemy over his head and he slams her hard down on the ground, before he swings his parasol forwards, launching the enemy some meters.

Villager falls down from the left platform and he pulls out a Gyroid Lloid to ride it. Akira jumps up to a platform to dodge it as the enemy starts shooting Villager with ink, he pockets one of the projectiles and… He just shoots it back? D-Don't ask me, just blame videogame logic… Anyways, they're dumb enough to keep shooting and not dodge, so they're caught in the explosion.

Akira decides to go finish off the Inkling clone with 10 stamina left. He does so by thrusting his parasol forwards while spinning it around, instantly defeating her.

Villager equips some boxing gloves and punches the nearest enemy a couple of times, and he then follows up by swinging his umbrella horizontally. The enemies try to fight back, but Villager dodges the projectiles. He sends out another Gyroid Lloid which explodes almost immediately, and he grabs the nearest enemy by trapping her in his net, throws her to the ground, and he slams his net onto her, launching her upwards. Akira attacks her while she's mid-air with a forward aerial, and he tries to follow up by thrusting his spear upwards, but it didn't connect very well, and he misses. "Ugh…"

Villager blocks the ink projectiles "These guys are annoying!" He jumps and swings two turnips downwards, hitting one enemy, before firing a slingshot pellet forwards, hitting the other one.

"Yeah, but that's literally the only attack they're supposed to do." The teen says as he throws his spear towards the enemy, before jumping towards her and kicking her in the face, leaving her with no stamina as she falls down to the ground. "I… definitely didn't feel bad about that." He says as he tried to grab his spear from the floor, but he notices he already has it. "Uh... Okay... Cool."

"I already know that!" Villager says as sends out yet another Gyroid Lloid, grabbing the enemy in front of him before tossing her out of the net. Akira attacks the other Inkling clone by thrusting his spear downwards right above her, once on the ground, he grabs the opponent, throwing her to the ground, leaping forward and spinning wildly, before finishing it off by throwing his spear towards the enemy while she's laying down on the ground, defeating her. "That felt REALLY good to land."

"Yeah, yeah." Villager says before he gets shot by the last enemy remaining. "Ugh." He groans as he shoots back with his slingshot, and then he pulls a weed out of the ground in front of the opponent, launching her upwards, where she gets attacked by the teen with a magic projectile, and he continues with another beam attack, this time being a short-range beam, followed up by him thrusting his spear downwards while spinning around it, defeating the last enemy.

Victory!

Raceway

Map (World of Light) - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

As normal, both fighters appear at the entrance of the Raceway.

"Having ink all over your body must have felt weird." Kirby says.

"Yeah, It was." Akira replies.

"It really was." Villager sighs.

"If you two agree on that, then I think I don't want to fight an Inkling anymore." Mario says.

"I can understand that."

"Anyways…" Akira swipes his hand horizontally and the screen appears. "Seriously? We got three Primary Spirits in a row, like… Actually… Nevermind, the type chart's a good reason reason." The teen says as he taps the screen, going to the Results page. "We won 157 Smash Coins, 98 Spirit Points, two Skill Spheres, one medium Snack and two small Snacks." He taps the Exit button and changes to Tom Nook's Job and feeds his Primary Spirit before closing the window.

"Before we go to the next battle, do you mind us asking about your world?" Mario asks.

"Uh, sure, go ahead." The teen scratches the back of his head.

Free Time Event No. 3: Kirby, Mario and Villager (Rank 3 and 2 respectively)

Reasoning - Persona 4

"So, How's society going over there?" The plumber asks.

"Eh, it's all exactly the same than yours. Though... Coronavirus happened two years ago, and we were in quarantine, but i still can't believe that it changed social media a ton, just to name some... There's more LGBTQ+ people and now Twitter's a literal dumpster fire."

"Looks like they were all really bored from being indoors, huh?" Villager says.

"Yeah, but not me, even though i get bored quickly."

"Why?"

"Eh, don't know. Also, did Master Hand show you your respective videogames?"

"Yeah, he did. And thanks to that, I found out that i'm from a videogame series called Animal Crossing and that it's a virtual life simulator with anthros."

"Yeah..."

"Mines are some pretty fun platformers." Mario says

"Atleast the main ones are platformers, there's a lot of spin offs, since you're the mascot of Nintendo."

"What's Nintendo?" Kirby tilts his head.

"Well, it's the company that made you three, and a lot of the other fighters."

"Oh, okay."

The teen then takes a look at the road besides them, which is blocked by a barrier. "Oh, great."

"You just noticed that? It was all around the inside of this race track, and you noticed that just now?" Villager says with a bored expression on his face.

"Hey, don't be rude, It's not like I'm supposed to know everything."

"Actually, it was the thing that stood out the most."

"..."

"Forget it."

"Akira." Mario says.

"Yeah?"

"Who's your favorite fighter?"

"Definitely Joker, I just love the Persona series, even though I discovered it only after he was revealed to be a fighter. My least favorite is... Wario, I think."

"Respectable opinions, I guess."

"Something else you guys want to know?"

"Are there like, any powers in 'Real Life'?" Kirby asks.

"No, there's like some people with magnetic properties in their body here and there, but no actual powers, just weapons. That's one of the reasons of why you guys exist, we just want some place to escape to, so yeah."

"That must be really boring..."

"It really is, not gonna lie, but at the pace technology is developing, i think we might fabricate superpowers for ourselfes in the next decades, might."

"Okay, but Is there any... 'supernatural' stuff?" Villager asks.

"Yep, but the majority of them haven't been explained, so we atleast have something to entertain us with."

"Do you guys hear voices like the one you heard yesterday before falling asleep?"

"No, I'm assuming it's a reference to Joker's game series' Social Links, where if you complete the first rank you hear that voice, and then you start to get EXP bonuses to the Personas you summon, but since there's no level system for the Jobs, it got replaced by a stat upgrade."

"Oh..."

"We should probably get going now." Mario says.

"Alright then, let's go."

Kirby, Mario and Villager's Social Link Rank levels up to 3 and 2 respectively!

The stat upgrade for Jobs of the Kirby, Mario and Animal Crossing series has grown!

The group starts walking to the next opponent, which is a Bayonetta clone. but before he could get to the Spirit battle, a warning message popped up. It says; 'You are at a Spirit type disadvantage, do you still want to continue?'. "Oh, right, I completely forgot about that." He says as he presses the No button, he is instantly redirected to the Manage Spirits menu, and he changes his Primary Spirit to Octoling. Akira closes the window, and resumes approaching the next enemy as the screen then fades to black.

Vs. Bayonetta (6th alternate costume)

Spirit: Juri (Street Fighter)

Rules:

- Attack Power +

- Jump Power -

Conditions:

- Stamina battle

- The enemy has increased attack power when the enemy's at high damage

- The enemy favors side specials

-Mother 3-

New Pork City (Omega form)

Both Akira and Villager appear onstage.

"Honestly, Juri is my least favorite character in Street Fighter." The teen says.

"...Why?" The latter asks.

"...No reason, i guess." He shrugs.

"...Okay."

Ready?

GO!

Vega Stage

Akira rushes towards the enemy as she attempts a slide kick, but he stops immediately and the attack doesn't reach the teen. "Phew." He then starts swinging a large bag of bells in front of him, hitting the Bayonetta clone until she gets out of the move's range. "Ah, crap." Akira says as he gets hit by another slide kick, followed up by an aú aberto. "Ngh!"

"Akira!" Villager says before throwing a slingshot pellet towards the enemy, who tries to land another kick.

"I'm fine!" The teen says as he swings a shovel downwards, and it meteor smashes the opponent. Akira jumps up to try to attack the opponent again, but he falls back to the ground quicker than normal. "W-What?" He says before a box with text that says: '! Jump Power -' appears in his line of sight. "Makes sense… O-Oh!" He dodges an incoming kick from the enemy, and counterattacks by slamming a heavy bag of bells onto the Bayonetta clone. The opponent tries to land yet another kick, but the teen throws the bag towards her, making her slide across the ground.

Once she gets up, the enemy shoots bullets from its "leg-guns", Villager gets in front of Akira and pockets them, but before he could fire them back he gets hit by another kick. The teen hits the opponent with an elbow bash, then with a swing of a bag on her legs, which makes the enemy fall down to the floor, and a shovel swing to the face.

"The enemy's just gonna keep spamming that move, block it if she gets too close and attack!" Akira shouts as he attacks the opponent by placing a leaf down on the floor, and it turns into a ladder, before pushing it forwards, making it fall on the Bayonetta clone.

"Yeah, yeah, I know that already, I just let my guard down!" Villager shouts back as he lands back on the ground while Timmy and Tommy grab the enemy. The latter places a flimsy shovel underneath her before the former jumps on the handle, launching her up to the sky.

Villager jumps and fires the bullets he pocketed before, hitting the enemy.

"I still want to know how that works!" Akira replies as he waves a Nook Miles Ticket over his head, hitting a lot of times.

-"Everyone else also wants to know!"- Kirby says from the walkie talkie.

"I don't know either, It just does!" Villager says as he swings two turnips upwards that hit the enemy.

The enemy tries to counterattack with a diving kick towards the teen, but he blocks it and slams a bag on the enemy, burying her on the ground, he then sends out Tom Nook's nephews to grab the Bayonetta clone again, as Akira hits her over the head with a handheld pennant a couple of times, before the twins pelt the enemy with projectiles, defeating her on the last one.

Victory!

Map (World of Light) - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Akira and Villager appear.

"God, these fights are more annoying than normal ones…" The teen sighs.

"Why, because they spam the same move all the time?" Villager replies.

"Yep, and I already know that it's what they're supposed to do, but ugh…"

"Okay… Also, do Jobs have a description for them, or something?"

"Eh… Nope."

"That's disappointing."

"Aaaaanyways," Akira says as the window appears. "I won the Juri Spirit, it's a two-star support Spirit. Its effect is to reduce the damage taken from poison. Might be useful sometime." The teen says as he taps the screen. "We won 148 Smash Coins, 55 Spirit Points, two Skill Spheres, a medium Snack and a small Snack." He taps the Exit button and goes to Jobs to check something out, he taps his current Job and sees that there's an option that says; 'Change costume'. "Here it is..." He says as he taps the fourth costume option, and his clothes "This definitely looks better on me."

"Oh, so you can change outfits with that?"

"Yep, and do you mind me switching you for another fighter?"

"Nah, I don't mind, it's your choice after all."

"Okay." Akira goes to change Villager for Mario, and then to feed his Primary Spirit, leveling it up to 14 before closing the window. "Alright… So…" He notices that the road is split into three paths.

"There's a chest up there." Kirby says as he points at the eastern path.

"We're definitely not leaving this area before defeating all the Spirits." Mario says while looking at the path that goes straight.

"And for this way… It's blocked." Villager says as he looks at the Big Fang vehicle in the western path, with a barrier in front f it.

"Well, we're definitely going left first." Akira says as he starts walking towards the eastern path, and the other three follow him. The next encounter is…

Vs. Wolf (4th alternate costume)

Spirit: Bio Rex (F-Zero Series)

Rules:

- Item Tidal Wave

- Certain items will appear in large numbers after a little while

-F-Zero-

Port Town Aero Dive

Both Akira and Mario appear on the stage (also, The Tom Nook Job's outfit changed to a dark teal jacket and a yellow shirt)

(Would you look at that, It's... a character I find attractive…) The teen says as he looks at the Wolf clone. "I'm probably gonna get motion sickness from this stage." The teen says as he then looks up at the sky to avoid supposedly getting motion sickness from the stage.

"You get used to it after a while, don't worry." Mario replies with a smile.

"Well, guess I'll try my best not to… vomit."

"I hope not."

Ready?

Both fighters get prepared.

GO!

Fire Field (an absolute BANGER)

The enemy immediately shoots an energy blast from his blaster, but Mario sees it coming and blocks it.

Right after, both Akira and the Wolf clone jump at the same time, but the teen is the one who manages to land a hit, by swinging a Nook Inc. knapsack in front of him. As they land onto the ground Mario tries to hit him with a palm thrust, but he dodges it.

Akira throws the Bumper that just appeared in front of him towards the opponent, to which he reflects it with a down special, and it ends up hitting Mario, luckily, not pushing him away. "Come on!"

Mario just ignores it and lands a sweep kick on the enemy, launching him a bit offstage.

"Oh, uh… Didn't expect you to just… Shove it off like that." The teen scratches the back of his head as the plumber gets hit by a downward slash, the opponent tries to follow it up with a two-handed slash, but Mario parries it, and proceeds to grab the opponent and grabs him by the feet, making the rest of his body fall to the ground, before spinning around three times and letting the Wolf clone go, launching him away again. The enemy shoots another beam, which is once again blocked, but he takes advantage of this opportunity to slash the plumber again.

Akira throws a mug with coffee at the opponent, which inflicts a burn effect on him. Mario lands a punch to the face, he then instantly grabs him again, before he can get launched away, headbutting him a couple of times before slamming him to the ground, sending him upwards.

The teen jumps up for an attack, but instead he gets hit by a flash attack from the enemy, meteor smashing him. "Ack!" He manages to dodge a kick from the opponent, who shoots yet another beam projectile, but Akira pockets it… Or, well, 'purchases' it.

Mario lands another slide kick while the teen jumps up, and swings his shovel onto the Wolf clone, launching him horizontally, offstage, but he instead gets flying back by one of the race track's walls, sending him to the eastern blast zone.

Mario tries to land a hit on him mid-air, but he gets meteor smashed instead by another flash attack, almost falling offstage.

Akira throws a bag of bells towards the enemy, which gets reflected by him, getting hit by his own attack. The Wolf clone grabs Akira by the collar as the teen's face starts to get red a little bit. (C-Chill out, it's not the real deal, it's just a co-) "A-Ack!" The Wolf clone starts to strike him in the gut with his knee before he performs a spinning chokeslam on him.

-"Why was Akira blushing?"- Kirby asks.

-"...Don't ask me."- Villager replies.

Mario gets up from the ledge and attacks with another punch to the face, before grabbing the enemy and throwing him on the ground again.

The enemy tries to land another flash attack towards Akira, but he blocks it. "You won't get me with that one anymore!" The teen then throws a bag of bells upwards, sending him flying inside the blast zone, defeating him.

Victory!

Map (World of Light) - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Both fighters appear from a bright light.

"You guys didn't even give him the chance to use his 'Item Tidal Wave' rule." Villager says.

"Yeah, but I don't think it would have made much of a difference." Akira says.

"The 'enemy gets stronger after eating' rule does exist, though." Mario replies.

"Eh, he was already at high damage after all."

"True."

The results window appears. "Anyways, I got the Bio Rex Spirit, it's… A one-star primary spirit with 986 power. Definitely not a good one.." He taps the screen. "We won… 20 Smash Coins and one Skill Sphere, really, that's all?" The teen sighs as he taps the screen again. "I'll check out the Spirit Board, and I will do this one fight alone now."

"You do you, but be careful, okay?."

"Yeah." He taps the Spirit Board button, and six Spirits appear. They're "Ice Man (Megaman)", "Ukiki (Super Mario)", "Eevee (Pokémon)", "F-Type (Stunt Race FX)", "Lyle (Animal Crossing" and "Shine Sprite (Super Mario)". He taps Shine Sprite's bounty.

Vs. Rosalina (3rd alternate costume)

Spirit: Shine Sprite (Super Mario)

Rules:

- Temporary Invincibility

- Sudden Final Smash

- Item: Stars

Conditions:

- Defeat the main fighter to win

- The enemy will suddenly have a Final Smash

- The enemy will occasionally be invincible

"Okay, this one is definitely going to be hard, I mean, it is a Legend Spirit after all…" The teen says.

"So I'm guessing you do need help now?" Villager says.

"Yep, I'll choose Kirby."

"Yay!" Kirby says cheerfully.

"Well, let's go." Akira says after he switches his Primary Spirit to Bowser (Wedding) and his Job to Geno's, and the screen fades to black.

"I'm Mario."

"And I'm Akira."

"The next fight is gonna be really complicated, are you sure you'll be fine?" The plumber asks as he looks at the teen with a worried expression.

"N-Not really…"

"Also, why do you like Wolf?" Mario says as Akira blushes a bit.

"E-Eh, don't know, my taste in guys, just like my taste in music, is all over the place."

"Okay."

"A-And I'm also really bad at explaining things."

"Well, it's alright."

The teen nods before he says. "Anyways, the next chapter will be; Race Trackin', Part 2!" (And I hope I don't get my and Kirby's butts kicked with this fight…)

Akira, Kirby, Mario, Villager

Jobs: Bandana Dee, Geno, Tom Nook

Social Links: Sun I (Kirby, Rank 2), Hierophant I (Mario, Rank 1), Magician I (Villager, Rank 1)

References:

The title of this chapter (and the next ones) is inspired by the Deep Purple song, Space Truckin', which has a stand in JoJo Part 8, JoJolion (which is why Akira talked about JoJo while mentioning this chapter's name in the last one).

The Bandana Dee Job's moveset is based on SSF2's Bandana Dee.

I decided to finish the chapter here because… I've taken 2 and a half weeks to make this due to my laziness, so yeah.

Extra Notes:

If you got to read chapter 3 early and you're wondering why there's no Job shop anymore, I decided to get rid of it because… It didn't make much sense, especially with GIORNO EFFING GIOVANNA as one of the Jobs available.

"Hey, it's Giorno!" Akira yells.

Are you deaf? I already said it didn't even make any sense at all!

"I heard you the first time!"

Anyways, thanks for reading this chapter and I hope you have a wonderful day!"
