"You are our greatest masterpiece. The ultimate weapon of Spectra!"

Those were the words she heard when fully awakening for the first time.

Masterpiece.

Spoken by a man of metal, a machine as she learned later on. Her…father?

Regardless, once she woke from the tube and dressed, the girl was told what was expected of her. To kill the other human that lived in this world. Eliminate them and all associated with them. Ensuring the eternal rule of Spectra forever.

Yes, those were her orders. Her commands. To fight until she attained victory over the inferior human. Because that was what she was told.

Then…she heard another voice, calling to her. A voice that wasn't from her creators, or even from her rival. It came from somewhere else, somewhere far away.

Where…

Stepping down the hallway, Kiritsugu walked without letting his guard down. To do so would put him at risk, considering the stakes that were happening here in this city. Hand resting on the handle of a hidden gun, ready to draw out for use if needed. Thankfully, it seemed it wouldn't come to that considering the lack of foes around here. Still, one could never be too cautious. Especially in a Holy Grail War, with yesterday night proving it.

At a moment's notice, Kiritsugu was in front of a closed door. A quick knock and it wasn't long before an answer was replied. Opening a crack, Kiritsugu's most trusted ally could be seen.

"Maiya."

"Kiritsugu."

Both replies were short and straight to the point. Just the way they preferred. Entering, Kiritsugu saw the weapons laid out on the bed, showing that Maiya was quite busy. On the counter her own weapon was there, maintenance duty for the most part.

'Yes. This is what's necessary.' Kiritsugu thought as he observed Maiya closing the door. 'To always be ready, and ensure the tools we have at our disposal are good to go.' In a fight against magus and whoever they commanded, nothing less was expected. If anything it may be best to actually check his own weapons for another run.

"Maiya." But not yet, Kiritsugu being more concerned about something else at the moment. Turning to face him, the woman understood. Sitting down on the open bed, Kiritsugu then paid attention to the television screen which Maiya proceeded to turn on.

"I had familiars sent to the locations you asked me for. Matou. Tohsaka. All positioned before the war began."

"Perfect." One should begin preparation before the fight even begins. It was foolish to begin when the war actually started. Which is why spying on them was a preferred course of action, just to see if there was anything that could be spotted that led to a weakness. "I imagine you spotted something. Perhaps related to yesterday's incident."

Both knew what Kiritsugu was speaking of. It was the talk of last night's news yesterday, and even today. It'll probably be gone in the next few days, courtesy of the church's intelligence agency.

With a nod, Maiya turned on the television. "As suspected, it was related to magecraft." Maiya then inserted a tape and then pressed a button to forward the recording. "The location of the incident, Tohsaka."

"A show of power?" Seeing as Kiritsugu was asleep during the incident, only awakening when he heard the giant boom, he had nothing but guesses. The familiars Maiya planted should have the answers he needed.

"No. I believe not." With another button pressed, the screen then showed the Tohsaka manor, the base and workshop of Tokiomi Tohsaka. One of the seven participating Masters in this war and a skilled mage at that. With his household having many boundary fields that would prevent even Kiritsaugu from assaulting his home like so.

The top of the house blew up as a pillar of blue light escaped it. Soon after, the rest of the house collapsed down while the familiar flew off in panic. Animal instincts overriding any orders to stay.

"...well, that was something." Even so, Kiritsugu got all the answers he needed. Crossing his arms and humming a little, Kiritsugu now had a good idea on what happened. "It would appear Tohsaka has summoned a powerful but rather volatile Servant."

"Oh." Maiya faced him. "What gives you such an idea?"

"I've read records of the old wars." Kirtsugu replied while taking out a cigar. Lighting it. "According to the records there might have been one or two Masters who summoned a Servant that had strained relationships, so to say." It was to be expected.

Here in this day and age, magus had different thoughts compared to the heroes of old. Why, it wouldn't be a surprise if a Master and Servant had a difference in opinion. One that may cause strife, were it not for the Servant's desire for their wish and the three unbreakable Command Seals. This of course caused the Servant to reluctantly obey their Master.

"But it's not a guarantee." Maiya claimed with Kiritsugu nodding to her words. Ultimately, Command Seals or not, a Servant may just as easily turn on their Master rather than obey them. According to the recordings of the last Einzbern Master in the Third War, their Servant (for some reason erased) never bothered listening to them. Simply doing their own thing until they were killed. In the Second War, the Master of Berserker slaughtered their Master upon summoning for unknown reasons.

In the end, while rare, it was possible for a Servant to turn on their Master, with Tohsaka clearly being said Master this time around. If anything, such a possibility would be beneficial. However…

"What became of Tohsaka?"

"From what the familiars observed, he's entered the Church."

"Alive then." Shame. Though this was far from a horrible outcome. As Tohsaka has practically lost his entire base of operations, with a Servant that likely still clashes against him. Forced to go to the Church itself.

'Though him going there immediately does feel suspicious.' Unless Tohsaka planned on quitting, for what other reason could he be going there for? While only a hunch, Kiritsugu suspects there might be something going on between Tohsaka and the current overseer, though had no proof at the moment. For now, he supposed he'll just watch for any movement Tohsaka makes.

Because Kiritsugu needed to focus on more important manners. Primarily, his next course of action. 'The war has already begun.' Kiritsugu stood up. 'And while the odds have been tilted to my favor, that doesn't mean victory is assured.'

More so when he didn't even get the Servant expected. Memories of the night still fill his mind. Where instead of the mythical King Arthur, using the catalyst to summon the man, what he and Irisviel got instead was but a young child.

'She didn't even look older than fifteen.' It was only because of her skills and Noble Phantasms that he considered her more than what her appearance showed. Helped that she seemed to obey his orders, though seemed to hold a small temper in her. Regardless, she will be used like any other tool in his arsenal.

'In fact,' Turning to Maiya, Kiritsugu told her, "We'll leave in about an hour."

"You've begun already?"

"Correct. It's time we start this war and cut those against us." He already told his wife, the 'Master' of Rider, what to do when she arrived. To gather attention in order to get the other Masters to reveal themselves, thus, putting their backs on Kiritsugu's crossfire. "Let's head out for some reconnaissance. See if we find anything we can use."

"Understood." With faith Maiya followed Kiritsugu to prepare. "And the mistress?"

"Safe. She should have arrived by now alongside Rider." All with the plan he told them so they can start taking down the others. Kiritsugu then grabbed a gun and checked it. Only those who prepared would win this war, with Kiritsugu doing the most to take down all other Masters and Servants, no matter the cost.

All in the name of world peace.

Stepping out of the plane, many people turned to gaze at the new figure that came out. A rather beautiful young woman with flawless skin and long white hair, a foreigner as most people guessed. Making a few blush at her beauty with the woman either unaware or not minding.

Long as they didn't make any moves on her well…She was taken.

'Hehehe. I wonder if Kiritsugu would be jealous.' Giggling to herself, Irisviel von Einzbern let out a breath as she took in the sight before her. Exiting the plane and already she saw so much. Not to mention so many people.

"...it really is different from home." Irisviel smiled, truly happy that Kiritsugu kept his promise to her. To show her the outside world beyond the white walls that covered her home.

Irisviel then gave a sad smile.

'Such a shame we only came out not for the sights.' At the very least, Illya was safe back home. With Kiritsugu promising to visit her once this war was done. He could raise her at the very least when she…

Anyway, Irisviel was just happy she could see the new sights and people around her. Even if Fuyuki was destined for some, less than light damage, Irisviel wanted to savor this moment. Turning her head, Irisviel then whispered, "Are you sure you don't want to come out?"

Next to her was nobody.

Not a person, not even an animal. To the average person they'd see Einzbern Master speaking to thin air. But she knew otherwise. Where for just a brief moment the air seemed to flicker.

Just as fast the air stilled with nothing coming out of it.

Sighing, Irisviel looked away. It seemed Kiritsugu's new Servant really didn't care for her. Only staying by her when commanded by Kiritsugu and no more than that. 'She didn't even bother speaking with Illya.' If anything, the new Servant gave the air of a cold person in a manner that, dare Irisviel say, like Kiritsugu on his work days.

In other words, a no-nonsense human that cared little for frivolous manners and only desired to get the job done. Seeing anything else, including small-talk, as pointless. With the only difference being that Kiritsugu did show his hidden emotions to her or even Illya whenever he wasn't working.

Even so, Irisiviel also couldn't help but try and keep talking to the girl. Because for some reason, Irisviel felt a…familiarity with the Servant. Almost as if looking into a mirror, so to say.

Funny. Kiritsugu would call her sentimental. Maybe she was. But you know, it was those sentiments Kiritsugu taught her. Hehe.

Continuing her walk, at the very least knowing Kiritsugu's Servant was there to watch her while he went elsewhere, Irisviel continued to sight-see across Fuyuki. The city may not have been a tourist attraction like other places, but considering she lived a long time in one place, she didn't mind seeing the mundane actions of the city's everyday life.

Cars moving. People walking. People talking. Lights flashing. Little animals such as birds flying or dogs and cats being walked. Why, she even saw a few rats scuttling across the ground.

Giggling, Irisviel couldn't contain the joy she felt as she kept looking around. So many countless sights to see. With everything being such a new experience for her. Now she wished he brought a camera, taking pictures to send to Illya. Books were okay, but Irisviel felt it'd be better for her daughter to get pictures with her father and Irisviel herself in them.

Of course, such thoughts like the windy breeze would come to a halt soon enough. Because as Irisviel decided to take a step through the crosswalk, a car suddenly came in front of her. Driving right by and frightening Irisviel who yelped as she stepped back in panic and fell on her butt. Her little hat falling off and tumbling on the ground while the car's horn went off.

A look ahead showed the crosswalk had a red hand, meaning it wasn't safe to walk by yet. Irisiviel having accidentally walked before it was safe. Understanding seeing as she still knew little about modern day society, combined with her lack of experience in wandering the big city.

Pouting, Irisviel grabbed her hat, not paying the humans looks at her too much. Wiping the dirt off the back of her sweater and hat Irisviel looked around in confusion.

That car nearly hit her. But the Servant who should have kept her safe didn't take any action to help her. Did the Servant trust that Irisviel would be safe or…

"...Rider. Are you there?" No answer whatsoever. For a moment Irisviel considered maybe Rider was just being silent like she usually did. "Rider?" But after two minutes of Irisviel silently calling for her Servant out, Irisviel began thinking otherwise. Going so far as to bluff that she'd have Kiritsugu submit her to his dream with Command Seals.

When that didn't work, it became clear just what was going on.

"She…" Irisviel whispered aloud as people walked past her, disbelief in her eyes. "She-"

Finally, Rider had a chance to leave that woman behind. What a nuisance.

All that talking to her. Trying to get her to look around. It reminded Rider too much of…her.

Standing on the rooftop, the Servant soon dematerialized herself.

In place of what was once a Servant that had been unseen is now a young girl instead. Donning an outfit akin to a military uniform, nothing that a 'legendary' hero would possess. Just like her outfit, her leggings and boots were jet black with a scarf that split into two and a peak cat. Having long gray hair tied off into twintails and red eyes with pale skin.

She was the 'hero' summoned by the man known as Kiritsugu Emiya, Servant Rider. Now participating in this Holy Grail War for an apparent wish. It was…an interesting prospect.

'A wish huh.' Rider…didn't really know much about wishes. Some kind of concept where a person wanted…something? Like how her 'father' wished to be the administrator forever. Or how the small one that worked with him desired stuff to have fun. And apparently one of their co-workers liked a good fight.

But her…What did she want?

"You were made to bring Spectra success!"

Her father's voice echoed in her head. The command he gave her when she was 'born'. Giving life to her as the greatest weapon Spectra has ever made to counter their rivals' own weapon. To attain victory for Spectra at all costs. In other words…her wish should be for Spectra?

'For now, let's just find someone to fight.' Pushing aside any thoughts of this wish, Rider refocused on the task at hand. Primarily, her enemies.

Six Masters. Six Servants. According to her Master, she needed to kill all of them in order to win. And while her Master told her to stay with that annoying woman, Rider saw no reason to stick with her the second they got on land.

They were on enemy territory, yet the woman wished to sight-see, absurd. Rider could still remember how the woman kept on talking and talking on the plane until Rider ditched her in spirit form. The plane arriving in Fuyuki couldn't have happened sooner, with Rider leaving her behind any quicker.

And if her Master complained, well, who cares.

Narrowing her eyes, Rider looked around. Loathed as she is to admit it, this wasn't easy finding an enemy Servant. All she knew about them was that they were strong and she must kill them, no more than that.

Also that they were people. Humans for the most part. With this world being…rather full of them.

"...so many." A world of humans, not machines. Vastly inferior tech, yet so lively. It was disconcerting in a way to see such a world in contrast to her own. With members of her species that were vastly different from her and her so-called copies. It was a shame that all of them were so weak compared to that girl.

Moving on, Rider turned to once more think of a way to find an enemy Master and Servant. But without any hints to where they could be, she hadn't a clue on what to do. Spending a few minutes on the rooftop silently without an idea.

"...Ah!" Until she thought of one. Recalling what her Master said before.

"Rider," Kiritsugu spoke to Irisviel and Rider, the latter paying attention while ignoring the small human girl who kept staring at her.

"Yes."

"When the time comes, I want you to have the Servants focus on you." Kiritsugu crossed his arms. "You ladies can fight to your heart's content all you want. Grandly. After all," Kiritsugu leaned forward just a little. "Those observing you means they're backs are wide open."

"Of course." Even better, she left the woman, meaning she could fight all she wanted without holding back. Good. She just needed a way to get the other Servants attention while letting her Master deal with the weak humans.

Turning, Rider then saw a building being constructed nearby.

"Perfect." A sword then materialized in her right hand as she headed towards said construction sight.

About ten minutes later, the news would be reporting on the collapse of an entire building, followed by small casualties.

Seems Kiritsugu got a Servant who really was made just to be a tool. Shame said tool is overly violent and willing to cause much damage without hesitation.
