Kitty clung onto Johnny from behind on the motorcycle with her eyes closed as they entered the human world. After her last experience trying to come here it had become somewhat of a reflex for her to brace for pain and to expect her body to be torn apart. But when nothing happened she slowly started to open her eyes as she felt the motorcycle land on the ground with Johnny revving the gas even more. Looking around she was amazed at how bright it was. The sun was shining strong and the colors of all the trees was mesmerizing.

"Wow, so this is the human world? It's beautiful," said Kitty looking in every direction and taking in as much as she could.

Johnny however was only focusing on driving his motorcycle as fast as he could around all the cars on the road. It took less than thirty seconds before he was slowing down to smile at a car that was full of girls and give them all a flirty smile and wink. You would think that his girlfriend was a thousand miles away rather than directly behind him and able to see what he was doing.

"Um, Johnny, what the hell was that?" said Kitty glaring angrily over Johnny's shoulder.

Johnny actually looked like he had completely forgotten that Kitty was there, showing once again that outside of motorcycles he was not the brightest bulb in the room.

"Oh that was nothing babe, just...uh...being polite is all," said Johnny trying to play it off. Needless to say he was doing a terrible job because Kitty had seen this behavior way too many times from the biker ghost.

They drove around Amity Park for about twenty minutes, all the while Kitty was taking in the sights and thinking everything looked so cool. But at the same time Johnny kept doing the same idiotic thing of staring at every single girl that was within his eyesight, acting like Kitty wasn't even there. After going intangible through a meat truck because he'd been distracted by another car of girls, Kitty had had just about enough.

"You know what, I don't even know why I wanted you to bring me here so badly," said Kitty pulling her arms back from Johnny's waist after he stopped the motorcycle. "I should have expected that your attention span wouldn't be any different here than it was in the ghost zone."

Originally Kitty really did want to come here both because she wanted to spend time in the human world with Johnny, and also on the off chance she could find Danny and talk to him about Ember. But if Johnny wasn't going to even remember that she was literally against his back then what was the point of the first reason?

"I'm so done with this, I'm going off to explore on my own, maybe I'll even find a new boy to hang out with," said Kitty in a mocking tone as she took off into the air away from Johnny.

Johnny quickly gripped the brakes on his handlebar, spinning the motorcycle around to look in the direction Kitty was taking off in.

"Shadow, go after her," said Johnny as his shadow emerged and flew off after his pissed off girlfriend.

Kitty flew off as fast as she could to avoid Johnny's shadow, but she wasn't fast enough to completely outrun it. She'd have to try to lose it closer to the ground. Heading straight down she saw that she was near a water park so she used the opportunity to land on top of a curved roof to hide behind the big WELCOME sign. Looking up she saw that the shadow was still there but had lost sight of her. It was just hovering there looking around before it also descended towards the water park, heading for the big mountain with a waterfall.

"Phew, glad he didn't see me. Ugh, I swear I'm going to disfigure Johnny's face one of these days for making me so mad," said Kitty to herself while clenching her fists. "It's not asking much for the man that calls himself your boyfriend to actually pay attention to you. I bet Danny wouldn't treat Ember that way."

Her last thought actually now had Kitty feeling very jealous of Ember as she remembered the letter and rose Danny had left for her. She'd give just about anything for Johnny to be that romantic with her. While in her train of thought she heard a loud splash down below and when she looked, her eyes shot open in surprise. Somehow she had ended up right where Danny was and he was currently on his butt in a fountain. In addition the fountain had a statue of Cupid squirting water onto his head from it's mouth.

"Well, this is humiliating," said Danny who had just been shot into the fountain along with Tucker by Dash and Kwan with water guns.

"But oddly refreshing," said Tucker enjoying the coolness of the water with the warm heat of the sun. Sam meanwhile had wandered off and was nowhere to be seen at the moment.

Right at that moment Johnny's shadow had flown down from the mountain and was weaving through the crowd looking for Kitty, causing a big panic in the process as everyone was running away.

"It's Johnny 13's shadow, I gotta find a place to go ghost," said Danny running off to transform.

As Kitty was still watching Danny run off, she was about to fly to him and confront him about the letter he left Ember. But seeing Johnny's shadow flying around on a rampage gave her second thoughts for the time being. She saw him fly into the air moments later and engage the shadow which in turn grabbed him and proceeded to pound him against several walls.

"Oh, ouch, that had to hurt," said Kitty watching from the sideline. "Please don't hurt him too much at least, he needs to be in one piece for me to talk to him about Ember."

Kitty maneuvered herself along the roof to a better angle to see the fight while still staying out of it. She was now on the roof of the ticket house while Danny and the shadow were close to the drainage system. But one other thing caught her eye behind the drainage office. Some other girl in a purple bathing suit was peeking around the building and smiling in Danny's direction.

"Hey, who is that and what is she up to?" Kitty asked herself raising an eyebrow. Whoever that girl is she was quite beautiful and seemed to be eying Danny pretty eagerly. Going invisible Kitty flew even closer and landed on top of the office just above where the girl was watching.

Just as she landed the shadow had thrown Danny pretty hard to the ground and he unfortunately landed pretty close to the girl. Opening his eyes and rubbing his head he looked to his side and now noticed she was there.

"Paulina, what are you doing here, it's too dangerous," said Danny in a worried voice as he tried to gesture to the popular girl to get away from the area.

"Oh that's okay, I'm not scared as long as you're here Inviso-Bill," said Paulina batting her eyelashes at Danny. Everyone suddenly froze with a dumb look on their face at the name she just called him.

"Uh, I'm sorry, what? Where did you hear that name?" asked Danny momentarily forgetting that he was fighting the shadow.

'Yeah seriously, that name sucks. You better get a publicist before that spreads,' thought Kitty in her head.

The shadow didn't seem to be interested or cared in what Paulina had called him because it suddenly swooped in and grabbed the girl by both of her arms, lifting her high into the air as a hostage.

"No, let her go," called Danny as he took off into the air after it.

The shadow flew off with Paulina in it's grasp, smirking back at Danny. Danny was staying close to the shadow, trying to reach out, but it kept zig zagging too much for Danny to make a move. They shadow went intangible a few times and passed right through buildings with Danny in hot pursuit. One of which ended up being the girls bathroom where they flew right past Sam. Sam had been splashing her face with water when she quickly looked up to see them both charging through.

"Um, ok, apparently I'm missing out on something," said Sam as she just watched Danny go through the wall like a beam of light. Not wasting any time Sam ran out of the bathroom, finding Tucker heading in her direction and looking into the sky where Danny was following the shadow.

Heading straight up the shadow came to a stop about one hundred feet into the air, holding Paulina out with one arm. Danny rose to the same height and glared at the shadow, but was careful not to provoke it and make it drop his hostage. While they were both staring at each other Johnny now flew up beside his shadow on his motorcycle, angry that Danny had gotten in the way of his search for Kitty.

"Listen punk, I don't need you getting in my way again. If you've seen my girl Kitty you better tell me right now or the beauty queen is going to set a new record for the high dive," said Johnny frowning at Danny.

"Wait, what, what do you mean your girl? I thought Kitty wasn't able to come to the human world?" asked Danny, confused and shrugging his arms.

"Long story short, we fixed that problem," said Johnny scowling. "But she took off earlier and I haven't been able to find her. But we did find you and you have a knack for getting in the way of other ghost's business. So where is Kitty?"

"Um, don't know, don't want to know, and don't care," said Danny counting his fingers. "So if you would be so kind as to hand over the nice girl, call back the formless spook, and head on back to the ghost zone, we can all call it a day."

"Wrong answer punk, and it's gonna cost you. Shadow, let her go," said Johnny commanding his pet.

With a big smirk that showed it's razor teeth, the shadow simply opened it's palm and let Paulina drop towards the ground.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH," screamed the Hispanic beauty as she accelerated to the rock solid ground below.

Danny gasped and quickly flew after her as fast as he could, arms fully extended to catch her. Johnny and his shadow were watching with a grin as they lowered themselves closer to the ground. They knew Phantom would catch her as they were plenty high enough for him to catch up to her, but it was still fun to watch.

Paulina was reaching out for Danny as he quickly approached. Getting to her with about 20 feet to spare he got both of his arms under her and slowed down to hold her bridal style in midair. Paulina suddenly looked so much happier as her own arms went around Danny's neck with a hungry grin.

"Oh ghost boy, I knew you'd save me, you're so brave and amazing," said Paulina wagging her eyebrows at him and trying to lean in to kiss his cheek.

A month ago Danny would be on cloud nine right now from this. But now he had serious feelings for someone else, and as a result he wasn't really comfortable with another girl trying to make a move on him, regardless of how beautiful she was.

"Oh, um, I'm sorry miss, but I actually kinda have feelings for someone else," said Danny moving his head back to prevent her from kissing him. Paulina gasped and her mouth dropped at this statement. Taking a quick look around he was relieved that Sam and Tucker weren't close enough to hear that. They'd been left on the other side of the water park.

"Wh...what, you're saying no to me?" said Paulina in disbelief. How could any boy say no to her advances, that just shouldn't be possible.

Kitty was also on the nearby roof and heard Danny deny Paulina as well and couldn't believe it, except she was smiling at this.

"Oh wow, he really does have serious feelings for Ember, this is incredible," said Kitty lightly beaming at Danny.

Meanwhile Danny had lowered Paulina to the ground and set her down. Paulina was still in shock that the ghost boy had rejected her kiss.

"Paulina I'm sorry, you really are very beautiful, but...I just can't, I really like this other girl and don't want to hurt her," said Danny. As he said it he felt a little strange saying it. It's not like he and Ember were together, but the fact that he wanted to be with her so badly made him feel like he'd be unofficially cheating if he were to do anything with someone else.

Paulina however only seemed to be hanging onto one part of what Danny said, which made her smile again. And as if the world was trying to make things difficult for him, right at that moment Sam and Tucker came running around the corner looking for him.

"You think I'm beautiful ghost boy?" said Paulina leaning close again, trying to work her magic on Danny.

Sam and Tucker stopped in their tracks, staring at Paulina and Danny in disbelief.

"Seriously, he's trying to pick up Paulina right now in his ghost form, in the middle of a fight?" said Sam smacking her open palm against her forehead. "Why do boys have to be such brainless idiots?"

Tucker took offense to that and wanted to defend his buddy, probably not the best thing for Danny right now.

"Hey now, why shouldn't he take advantage of his second skin to make a move on the ladies," said Tucker trying to add a suave smile, which only made Sam suppress a gag.

In the meantime Johnny had landed on his motorcycle in the middle of the park just a bit away from Danny and Paulina.

"Wow dude, you're actually turning down that girl, what kind of idiotic brain do you have working in that head of yours?" said Johnny with a laugh as he fell forward onto his handlebars.

"The kind that actually wants to be faithful to someone and treasure her for what she is, amazing," said Danny scowling at Johnny.

Kitty once again smiles at Danny's words and thinks of how lucky Ember is to have someone that cares about her this much. Sam and Tucker though are now confused and look at each other then back to Danny. So he wasn't just trying to hit on Paulina? Clearly they'd missed something while trying to catch up to the action.

"Also the kind that's smart enough to take advantage when his enemy lets his guard down, like right now for example," said Danny quickly pulling out his Fenton thermos and firing it right at the unsuspecting Johnny and his shadow.

"Oh crap, NOOOOOOOOO," screamed Johnny who wasn't prepared for this. Before he could even think of moving he and his shadow were both engulfed by the suction power of the thermos and pulled right into it.

Placing the cap over the opening Danny gave a little victory smirk and shake of the thermos before taking off into the air, leaving a still shocked Paulina by herself, very much smitten. Also leaving Sam and Tucker without so much as a word.

"Um, hello, your friends are still here?" said Sam quietly so only Tucker heard, waving her arms frantically.

"Well, he probably didn't want to look suspicious by talking to us in front of Paulina," Tucker offered shrugging his shoulders.

But Sam still looked frustrated, she was getting pretty offended at Danny's lower level of attention lately which made her feel pretty neglected as a best friend. Just a best friend right? Nothing else?

"Mmmmmmmm, that ghost boy is really amazing, and so cute," said Paulina in a dreamy voice as she watched him fly away. Sam glared in her direction hearing her words and seeing the longing look on her face.

"Oh please, as if you'd be interested in him if you knew who he really was," said Sam rolling her eyes at the shallow girl. Too annoyed to deal with any more of this she just started walking away with her bat cape over her face.

Kitty however was still on the roof observing. She had mixed feelings about Johnny getting sucked into the thermos, but she quickly took off after Danny before he could get away. This was her chance to talk to him about Ember while he was alone and Johnny was occupied and couldn't interrupt.

She followed Danny in the air as he landed behind a building that was deserted. Thinking he was alone Danny was about to change back to his human form, but that's when Kitty landed in front of him.

"Danny, wait," said Kitty shocking Danny and making him jump back in surprise.

"Kitty, oh great. I already dealt with your boyfriend, now I have to deal with you too?" said Danny bracing for round two.

"No, I'm not here to fight, I just want to talk," said Kitty throwing her hands up in peace.

Danny looked at Kitty cautiously. Her face was looking pretty sincere about just wanting to talk, but he had a hard time believing it. Why would she just want to talk moments after he had captured her boyfriend.

"Ok, so what exactly do you want to talk about?" asked Danny not lowering his guard.

"About what you did at Ember's realm earlier today," said Kitty simply. Danny's whole body instantly turned as stiff as a board and his face turned a deep shade of red.

"You...you saw that?" said Danny in a squeaky voice. His face was blushing so deeply it was as if he was turning into a tomato.

"I did," said Kitty lowering her hands so they could talk normally. "When I first saw you there I thought you were looking for trouble, but then I saw you leave your letter and that rose and I couldn't believe it. Do you really have feelings for Ember?"

Danny's whole body was shaking nervously. He was so sure that he had been alone when he was at Ember's door. To find out now that he had been watched this whole time was sending so many shivers down his spine. This is so not how he thought this day was going to go or how anyone would find out about his crush. But clearly there wasn't any point in trying to deny it as she had seen the whole thing. And it's not like he wanted to deny it, he really was crazy about Ember and saying other wise would feel like he was insulting her. Might as well face the music.

"Yes, I'm crazy about her. I've been crazy about her for about a month now ever since we ran into each other the day after her concert," said Danny truthfully. Suddenly a thought came to his mind about Kitty saying she'd seen him. "Um, by any chance, did you read the note after I left it there?" He wasn't sure which answer he would prefer to hear and braced for either one.

"Yes, I did read it," said Kitty simply. Danny winced at her answer, not knowing if this was a good or bad thing. "And it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen someone say to anyone."

Danny's eyes shot open at her words. She actually thought what he said was amazing?

"Really? You think she'll like it?" asked Danny, already moving past what Kitty thought and hoping Ember would feel the same way.

Kitty smiled at how cute Danny was being, worrying about what Ember was going to think about all of this. So adorable.

"Oh Danny, you don't know the half of it," said Kitty shaking her head in amusement.

Danny tilted his head a bit to the side in confusion, wondering what that was supposed to mean.

"I've noticed for a couple weeks now that Ember was feeling smitten over someone but she hasn't told me who," said Kitty crossing her arms. "But after what I saw this morning and putting the pieces together, I'm more than ninety percent convinced that she feels the same way about you." Kitty batted her eyebrows at Danny suggestively as she finished talking, smiling at how Danny was still blushing the deepest shade of red she'd ever seen.

"You, you mean it?" asked Danny hopefully. "You think she might feel the same way about me?" Danny's insides were soaring into the sky at the thought that Ember could actually return his feelings. He couldn't stop a big smile from forming on his face. Kitty starting chuckling again at how cute he looked.

"I'm about as sure as I can be without actually confirming it hun," said Kitty taking a step closer. "But for now I think you need to process all this and let Johnny and I head back to the ghost zone. I think I might need to have a little chat with Ember too about everything that happened here. If I'm right about this, she'll definitely want to hear about how her beloved dipstick turned down another pretty girl for her."

Danny flinched a bit again at Kitty's words, but not because he didn't like them. They were just so unexpected.

"So I take it that means you were lurking around just now when I was dealing with Johnny and his shadow?" said Danny crossing his arms and sending Kitty an accusing look.

"Possibly," said Kitty smirking. "I really did come with Johnny because I wanted to see this place, but I may have had a slightly alternate motive if the chance presented itself."

Danny was recapping the events of the day and it had gotten so much more crazy than he had anticipated. Looking down at the thermos in his hands he agreed that he had to properly process all this new amazing information. Just when he thought he couldn't like Ember anymore than he already did, his feelings were multiplying tenfold at the possibility she could possibly feel the same way. He was having a very hard time not getting his hopes up before he had confirmation.

"Ok, let's head back to my place and I'll let Johnny out into the ghost zone," said Danny as he and Kitty flew off into the sky towards Fenton Works.

The whole flight home Danny was daydreaming about Ember and the thought that she could feel the same way about him as he did about her. He couldn't stop smiling even if he wanted too. In fact he was so distracted that he almost flew right into a building without going intangible. Kitty saw this and chuckled at how smitten the boy truly must be if he couldn't even focus on where he was flying. About fifteen minutes later they flew into Danny's basement so he could hook the thermos up to the ejection slot. Pushing the release button Johnny and his shadow were instantly propelled back into the ghost zone and seeing stars.

"Oh, and one more thing before I really let you two go," said Danny flying into the ghost zone to see Johnny. "So on the way here Kitty told me about your little motorcycle modification, I'm afraid I won't be able to let that go," said Danny firing an ecto ray at Johnny's handlebar before he could realize what he was doing, destroying the box and Johnny's express pass to the human world.

"Huh, hey punk, what's that all about," said Johnny regaining his composure and preparing to command his shadow again.

Kitty flew in front of him before he could, holding her hands up wide to stop him.

"Don't even think about it Johnny, you've done enough today and I've had just about enough. We're going home right now," said Kitty frowning angrily into her boyfriend's face.

Johnny was completely surprised that Kitty was stopping him from attacking Phantom. What universe had he been propelled to where Kitty would stop that after he stopped her from coming to the human world last time.

"Kitty, why on Earth are you..."

"I SAID WE'RE GOING HOME," shouted Kitty. Johnny instantly stopped talking and shrank down onto his motorcycle, terrified of his girlfriend's tone.

"Um, yeah, sure, whatever you say baby," said Johnny turning his motorcycle to ride away with her.

Kitty looked back to Danny one more time with an encouraging smile, silently telling him good luck with Ember before she flew off with Johnny.

Danny watched the two fly off for a moment before he charged back through the portal and up to his room. Turning back into his human form while hovering over his bed, he fell onto his back with a dreamy grin on his face. He was still thinking about Ember and the thought that she could feel the same way about him. His biggest hope could possibly be coming true as he stared at his ceiling while starting to hum her music to himself.

Ember had spent all day smiling to herself while she was working on her song that filled her with so much joy. After getting Danny's letter and the rose earlier, she had been filled with so much new inspiration that suddenly the words just came flooding out of her and onto the page. It felt like her finest work she'd ever done and she couldn't wait to finish it, and hopefully share it with Danny at some point.

While she was strumming her guitar again she heard a knock at her door for the second time that day. Her thoughts jumped to conclusions, thinking it could possibly be Danny again coming to see her. Jumping to her feet she stepped pretty quickly to her door and flung it open. She wasn't entirely disappointed to find Kitty and Johnny there rather than Danny, but her smile did fade a little bit.

"Oh, hey Kitty, Johnny, what are you two doing here?" asked Ember greeting her guests.

"Well, I'm here for a little girl talk, Johnny on the other hand was just leaving," said Kitty glaring at her boyfriend, who slowly jumped back on his motorcycle and took off like he was on fire.

"Sheesh, what did the wannabe biker boy do this time?" asked Ember smirking in Johnny's direction. "Was he freaking out more over a scratch on his bike than spending time with you?"

"Not exactly, something quite a bit more dramatic actually, but we can talk about that later," said Kitty crossing her arms and smiling knowingly. "I'm much more interested to know how that new song I heard you working on is coming along. You know, the one for Danny."

Ember dropped the pen in her hands at Kitty's words.

'How the hell does she know about that?' Ember screamed in her head.

"What do you mean song for Danny?" said Ember trying to play it cool. "I don't write songs for boys, especially not the stupid dipstick," said Ember trying to frown, but her face was fighting the urge not to smile as she replayed the words of Danny's letter in her mind.

"Save it Ember, I put two and two together, besides the proof is all over your face," said Kitty pointing at Ember's face that was starting to blush just like Danny's had. "You might as well admit it now, it'll probably feel good to say it out loud to someone else."

Ember had been worried about what others would think if they found out that she had feelings for the infamous ghost boy Danny Phantom. But here was one of her very few friends confronting her about it, yet she seemed really excited about the idea. Not at all what she was picturing when playing the different scenarios in her head.

"Sss, I lk nny" said Ember in such a low whisper that her words weren't even legible.

"I'm sorry Ember, I didn't quite catch that, could you please speak up," said Kitty putting her hand to her ear in a mocking tone.

"Yes, I...like Danny," said Ember with her eyes closed and face looking at the ground.

Kitty was trying to keep her excitement in check knowing that her friend had feelings for someone that felt the same way, she deserved it so much with how lonely she's been in all the time she's known her.

"Well how about you and I go inside, because I have so much to tell you about today and you're not going to want to miss any of it," said Kitty as she put her hand on Ember's shoulder and guided her into her realm.

They had one long girl talk session coming their way.

A/N So originally Part 1 and 2 of When Friend's Intervene was just one long chapter. I ended up getting pretty carried away as I was writing it and before I realized it I was approaching 10k words. After reviewing it I figured that it was just too long and the better thing to do would be to split it up, thankfully I had a really good stopping point in the middle after Ember got the note and rose. Anyway I hope that the story is living up to everyone's expectations so far, thank you again to everyone who added it as a favorite. Merry Christmas to everyone and please let's get at least 10 reviews, that's what I'd like for my Christmas present :)
