Ember was legitimately scared as Sam was walking right towards her with a clenched fist. Her back was to the wall, but they were in the ghost zone so she couldn't faze through it to escape. She could touch the gauntlets that Sam was wearing, but not Sam herself. The only one here with her was Kitty, and she couldn't do any more than Ember could do herself. And worst of all, Danny wasn't anywhere around to help her and diffuse the situation. If he was here he would most definitely defend her from Sam and prove that he was not under any kind of mind control.
Sam had a look in her eyes that could be mistaken for someone who was evil. If anyone were to walk in right now and see them, Sam would look like the evil villain about to attack the innocent girl. The skulls in her eyes were definitely giving that impression.
Ember was quickly trying to think of something that could get her out of this and help her actually fight back against Sam, but her thoughts were not producing any results that could help her. Her guitar had been flung off her shoulder when Sam had grabbed her and was out of her reach to the right. Was this really how it was going to go down? She finally found happiness and the most absolutely perfect boyfriend, only to lose it all after a couple weeks?
'No, it can't come down to this,' thought Ember as she couldn't think of anything but how much she wished Danny was here and how much he meant to her. 'I waited so long to find the most amazing guy ever, I am not going to let it end like this right after we got together. I already died once, I'm not doing it again.'
Ember had waited decades, both living and as a ghost, for a real relationship. She had given up long ago that it would ever happen and turned that frustration and anger against the whole world in an attempt to make everyone love her. If nobody was every going to care about her, she'd make the whole world care about her with her powers. It felt so amazing when the whole planet was chanting for her, fueling her power and strength. But then Ember fell for Danny and Danny for her, and she learned what it meant to have someone actually care about her. It felt far more amazing to be with Danny legitimately rather than having an entire brainwashed planet cheer for her. There wasn't any comparison. Being with Danny was the best thing that had ever happened to her and she wasn't ready to lose that. Especially not like this.
Ember narrowed her eyes as Sam raised her fist, laying her palm completely flat. Bringing it down in a chopping motion, Sam was aiming right for Ember's throat. But finding new energy, Ember rolled to her side and away from Sam, floating back into the air and lunging for her guitar. Strapping it on she put a bit of distance between herself and Sam. She did thankfully still have the advantage of flight over her.
"You may not want to hear this or even believe it, but what Danny and I have is real, and I'm not going to let a jealous wannabe that was too chicken shit to make a move ruin it for me," said Ember, gripping her guitar tightly. "I may not be able to touch you, but I'll still do whatever I have to do in order to protect what Danny and I have."
Sam was glaring at Ember with pure rage in her eyes as she slowly paced around the room, Ember floating in circle to match her. While they moved Sam passed by the side table that had Danny's picture on it, along with something else laying beside that. Sam noticed the back of the picture in the corner of her eye and peeked around, seeing a picture of Danny in his ghost form smiling.
"What the hell is this?" asked Sam picking up and showing the picture to Ember, which Tucker also saw. His eyes were a little shocked seeing a picture of his best friend in the frame.
"Wow, you actually have a picture of him here in your realm?" asked Tucker. Mind controlling him was one thing, but why would she keep a picture like that if it was all just part of some plot?
Ember smiled a bit as she looked at the picture of Danny, remembering how sweet it was a week ago when he gave it to her. Sure in most situations gifts like that would come a little later, but she was so infatuated with her dipstick and happy about them being together that she accepted it without hesitation.
"Yes I do, and now I get to see him every day, even when he's not here to make out with," said Ember smirking a bit at Tucker, and then more so at Sam.
Sam, not really thinking things through, had a sudden vision of Danny and Ember being a happy couple together, and it was sickening. She didn't want to see it, but the images were forcing themselves to the front of her mind. Her attempts to block them and focus on the real Ember resulted in her fist clenching so tightly that she ended up shattering the picture and it's frame in her hand. Ember felt a part of her spirit break as she saw it happen.
"YOU BITCH, ARE YOU REALLY THAT JEALOUS?" shouted Ember, snapping Sam from her thoughts and glaring back at the flame haired ghost.
"I will never let you lay a hand on him again, he is way too good for someone that just wants to use him for evil," said Sam, ready to launch herself again. But before she can she notices one more thing that was on the table. As she's about to pick it up next, Ember becomes even more enraged.
"IF YOU TOUCH THAT I WILL SHOVE THOSE GLOVES DOWN YOUR THROAT," screamed Ember as Sam was reaching for her purple rose. Danny's best friend or not, if she did anything to her rose she would not hold back. Though the rose was slowly starting to wilt, she still cherished it as one of her most priceless possessions.
"Sam, you better listen to her about that, Danny gave it to her and things will get much uglier if you do anything to it," said Kitty frowning. She knew how much Ember treasured that rose and didn't want to see anything happen to it herself.
"If Danny gave you this then the only decent thing to do is crush it. You don't deserve a rose from someone you controlled into giving it to you," said Sam reaching for the purple flower.
Ember didn't think, she was letting her instincts take complete control as she shot right at the goth girl, intending to save the best gift she'd ever received. Sam turned back to Ember as she picked up the rose with one hand, raising the other gauntlet and ready to get up close and personal again. As Ember got into her arm's reach she swung a punch toward her head, but Ember ducked it and quickly maneuvered herself behind Sam. Quickly lunging her arms around her from behind she got a good grip on the gauntlet holding the rose, pulling with every ounce of strength that she had to open her palm. Catching Sam by surprise she didn't react in time to tighten her fist as Ember pried it open, quickly grabbing the rose with her other hand to get it out of harms way. With the rose now in her own hand Ember kept letting her instincts run her moves, keeping a good grip on the gauntlet with her other hand and maneuvering to Sam's side.
"Danny says you don't eat anything with a face, well how about with a knuckle," said Ember fiercely as she held a firm grip on Sam's gauntlet. Pushing it right into Sam's face, Sam took a big punch centered on her jaw that covered about half of her head, extra impact due to the metal glove.
As Ember let go of the gauntlet Sam's hands came to her face where she's just been punched by her own fist, wincing in pain as a bit of blood dripped from her nose.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH," screamed Sam in serious pain now, crouching a bit lower and rubbing her nose and jaw.
But Ember wasn't done yet, she was ready to take this elsewhere. Quickly moving forward before Sam could recover, she took a hold of both gauntlets as a whirlwind of flames started to spin around them.
"Let's go for a ride hippie," said Ember aggressively as both her and Sam were surrounded by the whirlwind, suddenly vanishing on the spot.
As the two girls disappeared, Tucker and Kitty were left alone in Ember's realm. Both were staring at the spot Ember and Sam had vanished on. After a moment they both looked at each other, Tucker still holding the ecto launcher but not actively pointing it at Kitty.
"So now what do we do?" asked Tucker, not really sure where to go from here. This whole thing had gotten pretty out of hand, way more so than he thought it would when he got there.
"Well, we don't have to fight," said Kitty gently raising her hands. "Whether you and your spooky friend want to believe it or not, Danny and Ember really are together and I care about them both. I'm actually Danny's friend now too if that means anything to you, so we don't have to do this."
Tucker was hesitant to believe Kitty, but she did sound very convincing. Either she was telling the truth and this had escalated to a point of avoidable chaos, or she was a really good actress and just covering for Ember. Either way he was now here alone with the speeder, which he'd now have to get back to the human realm on his own.
"I'm gonna go, I'll talk to Danny when he gets back after the weekend. If he confirms everything you say, that I'll believe you," said Tucker simply, not really sure what to make of the whole situation until he actually talked to Danny. There wouldn't be any point putting it off any longer when he got back. But for now he needed to find out where Ember took Sam before someone got seriously hurt.

Danny was hiding behind a large supply crate, peeking around the corner to try to see where the bear ghost was. He didn't see it anywhere, but since his ghost sense wasn't working at the moment he wasn't as reassured. It could always just faze through a wall while he wasn't looking and he'd never see it coming.
"What I wouldn't give to be Spiderman right now rather than myself," Danny whispered to himself as he lightly trembled. "His spider sense can't just be removed like my powers apparently can."
The real problem Danny was facing was that he wasn't back in Amity Park, so he couldn't just make a break for his house and activate the ghost shield. He was hundreds of miles away without a single ghost weapon or gadget of any kind. Calling the police wouldn't do him any good. Even the police in Amity Park didn't have anti ghost gear. Besides he didn't even have his phone on him anyway, he left it in his room when he had transformed to go after the vultures. Everything he brought with him was in his room. His bag, his phone, his camera, his spare clothes, the beacon...Danny was about ready to slap himself for not thinking of this right away.
'I'M AN IDIOT,' Danny screamed at himself in his head. 'I gotta get back to the room and signal Ember.'
Looking around the corner one more time, Danny thankfully didn't see anyone there. Slowly stepping out from his hiding spot he was about ready to make a break for the building his room was in. But he didn't get more than a few steps before he heard squawking from above him.
"Hey, over here, we found him, he's over here," called one of the vulture ghosts, pointing its wing right where Danny was standing.
Looking up Danny saw the vultures, his whole body going tense with worry that the bear ghost wasn't far away. Not knowing what else to do, Danny took off running for the building his room was in, but then out of nowhere the bear ghost emerged from the ground.
ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!
"Oh, hey there Baloo, you sure got big," said Danny with a forced smile and chuckle. "I don't really think coming for me is one of the bear necessities of life. So how about we just hug and be friends, eh papa bear?"
All he received in response was another loud roar, making his hair blow back.
ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!
"Yeah probably for the best, I don't think I'd have much fun running around in just my underwear," said Danny as his forced smile was wiped from his face, replaced with clenched teeth.
As the bear ghost lunged forward it attempted to swipe at Danny's head. Thankfully Danny's instincts from all his ghost battles were still intact and he was able to roll to the side just in time. Jumping back to his feet Danny started running again, unfortunately in a different direction than where his room was since that path was now blocked. Turning between two huts he noticed that they were raised off the ground with space underneath. Quickly lowering himself to the ground Danny rolled underneath one of the huts and started crawling to the other side, hoping the bear and vultures didn't see his maneuver. Looking to where he'd just been, he did indeed see the feet of the bear walking. Shivers were running down Danny's spine as he hoped it would just keep going and looking elsewhere. Waiting a few moments and slowly crawling in the opposite direction, Danny looked back and saw the bear's feet indeed walking away form where he was, albeit slowly.
Just as he was about to crawl out from the other side he got a new surprise that he definitely didn't expect or appreciate. It was the head of Vlad Plasmius sticking itself through the floor of the hut above him.
"Oh my Daniel, isn't this so much fun?" said Vlad in a mocking tone. "You really are quite the entertaining fish swimming away from the hungry bear."
Danny narrowed his eyes, wishing so badly that he could fire an ecto ray right into his smug face.
"And you really are quite a coward Plasmius, having your minions attack a defenseless teenager that you're too much of a pansy to fight yourself, pathetic," said Danny in anger. Vlad just kept smirking, unbothered.
"Ah yes, that good old fashioned teen fury, quite the defense mechanism," said Vlad, closing his eyes again. "Have fun Daniel."
Raising his head back through the floor, Danny sneered for a moment before crawling out from underneath the hut. Not seeing the bear or vultures anywhere he started running around the huts, still trying to get back to his room.
'Ah, going for his phone no doubt to try to call for help,' thought Vlad, who was watching while invisible. Looking to where the bear ghost was, he put his fingers to his mouth and gave a loud whistle, diverting the bear's attention in his direction
Hearing the whistle, Danny started sprinting as fast as he could around the buildings to get back to where he was a moment ago. Once again with a clear pathway to the building his room was in, he was making a beeline for the front entrance.
ROAAAAAAAAAAR!
Danny heard a loud roar from behind him. Turning over his shoulder he saw the bear ghost faze through one of the buildings, unfortunately looking right at him. The ghost started charging towards him, so Danny resumed sprinting for the building. He only had one chance to call for help, and he had to make it count. But even if he was able to get the beacon and signal Ember, how would he hold himself together long enough for Ember to get here? It's not like she could just teleport here instantly, it was too far from Amity Park and she wouldn't know where she was teleporting too since she'd never been here. But either way, it was his only chance. Reaching the building he slammed the door open and sprinted towards his room. He didn't even bother to close the door since the ghost could just faze right through it if he locked it. Quickly zig zagging through the hallway, Danny's desperation was getting higher the closer he got to the bedroom. He recapped in his mind where he'd left the beacon in his bag, and where the bag had been left, which was at the foot of his bed along with his phone. He should probably grab that too just to have another lifeline.
"There's my room, almost there," said Danny, almost out of breathe. Looking back though he could hear the bear ghost growling, making him feel like he was in a horror movie, or a video game. All the lights were out, he was completely alone, and he was being chased by a monster, so all the criteria was there.
Crashing through the door of his room he saw his bag and phone sitting on the bed. Taking two seconds to catch his breathe with his hands on his knees, he quickly lunged forward to grab them both. But unfortunately someone else had other thoughts in mind.
"Now now now Daniel, why would you want to disrupt others when we're playing such a fun game right now," said Vlad as he fazed into the room through the floor, right in front of Danny's bed. "What do you say I hold onto your things for you so they don't get lost."
With a knowing smirk, Vlad reached behind him to pick up Danny's phone and backpack, not knowing that the beacon was inside it.
'NO NO NO NO NO,' thought Danny in despair. He tried launching himself towards Vlad to tackle him to the bed, but the sinister man just simply went intangible while smirking, causing Danny to fly right through him and plop down harmlessly.
Making himself physical again, Vlad floated away from the bed just as the bear ghost fazed into the room, leaving Danny completely cornered with nowhere to run.
"Oh dear Daniel, it looks like the fish has backed itself into a cove without any way out," said Vlad faking concern. "There's still time to fix this though, my offer from earlier still stands, all I need to hear is the phrase 'I accept, and my father is a moron'." Putting a hand to his ear in dramatic fashion Vlad turned his head to the side. He didn't really need to hear the part about Jack being a moron, but it would be so extra sweet if he actually did say it.
Danny frantically looked all around for anything he could possibly use to protect himself. The only thing on the nightstand was the camera Jazz had given him. The only thing on the desk to the side was a model rocket with a magnifying glass. Suddenly Danny got an idea that might work, or cause complete destruction. Quickly grabbing the camera, Danny leapt towards the desk and grabbed the magnifying glass, pointing both at the bear ghost as it was stomping towards him.
"Alright teddy, let's see a big smile now," said Danny, positioning the camera right behind the magnifying glass. With one quick click Danny created a huge flash in point blank range of the bears face. That was one picture he probably would not be including in the photo album.
The bear ghost growled aggressively as it's eyes snapped shut from the flash, covering them with its paws as it started rampaging out of control. This snapped Vlad from his dramatic pose and caused him to get a bit more serious.
"What, stop that, get the boy already," said Vlad floating towards the bear, now worried that the situation was getting away from him. "I order you to snap out of it and get him now."
As he got right behind him, the bear could hear that a figure was close by. Unable to see who it was and not all that discriminate on who it attacked, it spun around and swiped it's paw right at Plasmius. Catching the fruit loop off guard he took the swipe right in his gut, with loud 'oof' escaping his mouth. Danny didn't waste a moment as he saw his opportunity. Charging forward, he lunged towards Vlad as he passed the bear, grabbing his bag and phone out of his grip before he could recover. Not stopping to see what happened next, Danny sprinted right out of the room and headed for the exit, needing to find a place to hide to catch his breathe and activate the beacon.

Right above Fenton Works stood the Fenton op center, a place that housed many of the Fenton's anti ghost weapons, gadgets, and served as an observation unit. It also had the capability of transforming into a large blimp in extreme situations. But right now it was about to become the setting of another event, the brawl between two fiery ladies both fighting for the boy they deeply cared about.
With a whirlwind of flames appearing in the middle of the room, Ember and Sam appeared out of thin air in the op center. Once the whirlwind subsided Ember quickly let go of the gauntlets that Sam still had on and glared right into Sam's face, feeling a little lower on energy due to teleporting, but making up for it with newfound determination.
"This is much more like it, now I can do this," said Ember aggressively as she swung her fist right at Sam's gut, this time making clean contact and knocking the wind right out of the goth girl.
Since she was momentarily stunned from teleporting, Sam didn't have time to react and took the punch with all it's might. Falling to her knees, Sam clutched her chest and started panting heavily, coughing into the ground as she tried to get her breathe back. All the while she was screaming at herself in her head at how the situation had gotten away from her. She couldn't believe this had happened. Mere moments ago Ember was completely at her mercy and she was so close to freeing Danny from her control. Now because she had momentarily lost focus, her advantage was gone and she could barely breathe.
Bringing Sam here though did come at a price for Ember. She was feeling a little weaker from teleporting both herself and Sam to the human realm. Using her teleporting powers always partially drained her energy which is why she didn't like using it if she didn't have to, but it was necessary this time to level the playing field and remove Sam's advantage in the ghost zone. Now she'd be able to fight her on much more favorable terms. She still reminded herself not to cause any permanent damage to avoid the risk of Danny breaking up with her, but that was going to be even harder after she almost ruined her rose, which was still in her hand.
"You will not, I repeat NOT, touch this rose again," said Ember roughly, holding up the rose to show Sam. "This is the most precious thing anyone has ever given me, and you will not take it from me." As she finished speaking Ember brushed her flaming hair back, putting the rose behind her ear. Having it with her made her feel like Danny was actually here with her, giving her strength.
"Well congratulations, the best gift...you've ever gotten...if from someone you're...mind controlling," said Sam slowly as she took deep breathes while getting back to her feet. "I don't think I've ever heard of anything more sad and desperate."
Ember's hair started to roar like a wildfire, having heard enough of Sam's cheap insults and not believing that she and Danny are legitimately together.
"I don't care if you believe it or not, but at the end of the day Danny is my boyfriend and not yours, and you're just going to have to learn to live with that," said Ember as she turned the knob on her guitar.
Sam clenched her fists and readied herself for round two.
"Keep dreaming hothead," said Sam with narrowed eyes.
Striking a chord on her guitar, Ember sent a stream of flaming purple energy at Sam, who rolled to her side to dodge. Raising her wrist up, Sam fired her wrist ray at Ember in rapid fashion. Using her guitar like a baseball bat, Ember was able to swat several of the blasts away as she backed up. Now going invisible, Ember floated herself over Sam's head to position herself behind her, readying her guitar for another swing. Sam couldn't see where Ember was but she was pretty sure she knew what she was up to. Opening both of her fists, she spread her arms as wide as they could go, clapping them together with every ounce of strength she could muster. As she clapped a loud ecto wave erupted from her palms, sending out a shock wave through the room and going right into Ember.
"Ahhhhhhhhh," screamed Ember as she became visible again, the shock wave making her whole body squirm and ears ring as she fell to the ground.
Landing on the floor Sam quickly lunged to where she was, swinging her fist in an uppercut and making a clean blow on Ember, sending her flying through the air and into the ceiling. Still feeling dazed from teleporting and now a hard punch, Ember turned the knob on her guitar again, striking another chord several times. This caused several ecto fists to fly from her weapon, but instead of going straight at the goth girl, they swirled all over the room and circled her. This caused Sam to look in all directions trying to keep track of them, not sure which angle to block from. Now distracted, Ember took advantage and quickly flew down and swung her guitar at Sam, holding back from using her full strength but still enough to make a clean hit and send Sam flying back into the wall, hitting hard against her back.
"Owwwwww, ugh," said Sam in a groan as she clutched her back where it had slammed against the wall.
Both of the girls were starting to get worn down but neither was willing to throw in the towel. Sam was determined to free Danny from Ember's control, and Ember was determined to keep fighting for her relationship with Danny.
"Gotta admit, you do put up a good fight for a hippie," said Ember while rubbing her ears, still ringing a bit from the shock wave. In her past experience, hippies were always non violent and complete pacifists, and often nauseatingly lame. But Sam on the other hand wasn't one bit shy about exchanging blows.
Sam was slowly getting back to her feet and regaining her footing.
"Well when it comes to my friends and those I care about, I'm ready to fight all day," said Sam in a deep breathe, not even bothering to acknowledge Ember's hippie remark this time.
Ember once again glared at the goth girl who refused to accept that she and Danny were together and happy.
"We'll see if Danny is still friends with you when this is all over, I feel the smart money is on no," said Ember, holding her guitar pick right over her strings.
Sam clenched her fists and stood in a defensive position.
"The only thing that'll happen when this is all over is Danny will be free, and free to decide who he wants to be with," said Sam, not really thinking as she said the last part. In the front of her mind she really was fighting to save him from Ember's control, but buried in the back of her mind she was also fighting for someone that she wanted as more than just a friend, she just hadn't admitted it out loud yet, only privately in her head.
Both girls were glaring daggers at each other, waiting for the other to make a move.

Danny had made it out of the building, still able to hear the screaming and roaring from inside where Vlad was still trying to get the rampaging ghost bear under control. Taking a quick look at his watch Danny saw that it was now 7:15. Only thirty minutes had passed since Vlad had zapped his powers away, which meant he still had to hold out for another two and a half hours. With everything that had happened in the last thirty minutes it amazed him that so little time had gone by. Almost as if the whole situation was mocking him and daring him to get himself killed in this mess.
"I gotta find a place to hide and signal Ember, please let her get the signal and get here fast," said Danny to himself as he quickly looked around.
Running at a slower speed due to exhaustion, Danny looked down every path he passed, hoping to find something that would keep him hidden and safe long enough for either Ember to get here. Or at least get his powers back. Turning the corner and not really seeing anything that looked good enough, he ducked into the nearby building and hurried down the hall. He realized that he had ended up back in the cafeteria that he'd had dinner in earlier. Not able to see any better options he quickly hustled down the hall and slipped into the kitchen. Putting his hand on the counter he took a moment to catch his breathe, not sure he could run another step without collapsing.
"Gotta lay low, gotta lay low," Danny muttered to himself as he looked around.
Spotting a closet in the corner he shuffled over to it and slipped inside, squishing himself into the back behind some shelves that held cleaning supplies. Now having the moment he needed, he pulled his bag into his lap and dug through it, looking for the beacon he needed to call his girlfriend.
"Come on, where is it," said Danny desperately as he dug through the backpack, tossing things out that weren't important to him right now, which was everything except the beacon. Finally, as he got to the bottom of the bag, he felt his hand grasp the circular tablet with the plastic cover over the button. "Yes, thank you thank you. Ember please get this and get here quickly, I need you."
Flipping the plastic cap open, Danny hit the button and sent out the signal, begging that she would get it right away and hurry here to help him. In the meantime he'd stay put as long as possible to rest from all the running.

Ember was standing in the middle of the room with her knees slightly bent, ready to strum her guitar once more and resume her brawl with the goth girl. As she raised her hand and prepared to bring it down in a powerful swipe on the strings, a vibration in her pocket brought her to a sudden stop. Looking down at her pocket and realizing what was happening, she put her guitar pick in her other pocket and pulled out the receiver that Danny had given her. Hitting the button to show the map on the screen, a glowing dot appeared on the map with the word "Huntsville" right beside it. Danny had activated his beacon for some reason and was calling for her.
"Danny, he's in trouble," said Ember to herself out loud and suddenly worried. She instantly was no longer interested or even paying attention to Sam, who was now very confused as to what was happening.
"What the hell do you mean Danny is in trouble, what is that?" demanded Sam, not lowering her guard. Ember suddenly remembered what she was in the middle of, looking up at Sam.
"It's a receiver that Danny gave me before he left for his space camp trip," said Ember holding it up. "He took a beacon with him and said if any trouble came up he'd use it to call me, and he's doing it right now."
Sam felt all the color drain from her face at what Ember was saying, numerous thoughts going through her head, and none of them good. The most glaring being that Danny was apparently in trouble somehow. But in addition to that, Danny had actually given Ember a device to call her if necessary...and not her or Tucker?
"Danny...said that if he got into trouble he would contact you?" said Sam, both hurt and angry at this realization. How could he have chosen Ember for something like that and not herself or Tucker, his best friends?
"What, is it really that hard to believe he'd choose me over you?" said Ember frowning. "After all, unlike you, I am his girlfriend," said Ember, putting big emphasis on the last word.
Sam felt like there was an echo in her head, repeating Ember's words over and over, mocking her. She'd never felt so hurt in her entire life. Danny was supposed to be her best friend, yet apparently he didn't think highly enough of her for something as important as this? Whether he was under mind control or not, this was just plain hurtful. She thought they were closer and more special to each other than that. No, this was all because of Ember, she was to blame for all of this.
"Give me that receiver, if anyone is going to help Danny it'll be his actual friends," said Sam demanding the device. Ember however wasn't in any mood for this and was now only concerned with getting to Danny as fast as possible.
"Get over yourself hippie, Danny needs help and I'm done with this," said Ember pulling her guitar off her shoulders and hopping on. She'd have to ride her weapon to him since she needed time to regain her energy. And she couldn't just teleport because she'd never been to this NASA place in Huntsville, or even Alabama.
"GET BACK HERE," shouted Sam as she lunged forward to try to grab Ember. But Ember had already gone intangible and fazed out of the op center, flying as fast as her guitar would move and heading south. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO." Sam screamed in fury as a tear of emotion slowly leaked from her eye. Ember had gotten away, and worst than that, Danny was apparently in trouble and she wasn't his first choice for help.
'No, I'm not just gonna wait here, I gotta help Danny,' Sam thought in her head as she quickly sprinted over to a storage compartment. She'd have to act now, if she waited until she found Tucker, Ember would get too far away and she wouldn't be able to follow her.
Putting in the code that Danny had once showed her, the door opened to reveal an ATV. Quickly hopping on and putting the helmet with goggles on along with a bomber jacket, Sam hit the button to transform the ATV into a hovercraft. Strapping herself in she slammed her foot on the accelerator, taking off through the window. She didn't even care that she was shattering it and would most definitely create a noticeable mess. Her only concern was keeping Ember in her sight and following her to help Danny, the boy she lov...her best friend.
Ember was crouched as low as she could get while riding her guitar to create less wind resistance and get better speed. She didn't have any way of knowing what kind of trouble Danny was in, but that was irrelevant. The point was that he was in trouble and she was going to do whatever she had to do to get to him as fast as possible and help him. Looking down at the receiver it showed her location compared to Danny's. He was about 250 miles away and it would take her about two hours to get to him. She casually looked over her shoulder where Fenton Works was, not really expecting to see anything but the shrinking city of Amity Park. But what she did see almost made her fall off her guitar. Sam was on a hovercraft and speeding after her.
"Are you freaking kidding me right now?" Ember growled to herself with clenched teeth. She tried to crouch even lower onto her knees to create even less resistance, gaining a bit more speed.
Sam had her eyes lasered in on Ember as she sped after her. She was quite a ways ahead, but her hover craft was moving fast enough to keep up so Ember couldn't outpace her. Looking down at the speedometer she saw that she was moving at 135 MPH. Thankfully she had the helmet and goggles otherwise she wouldn't be able to keep her eyes open for this. And the bomber jacket would keep her from freezing in the December wind that her speed was creating.
"I've got you in my sight Ember, we're not done with this yet. First I'll make sure Danny is safe, then you and I will finish this," said Sam lightly to herself, keeping her foot all the way down on the accelerator.
Ember peeked over her shoulder and saw Sam still keeping up, but not getting any closer. It was beyond infuriating how this girl continued to stick her nose in where she felt it didn't belong. But she'd have to put that on the backburner for now until Danny was found and safe.
For the entire two hours Ember flew in a straight line towards Huntsville, regularly looking at the receiver to make sure she was heading right for Danny's signal. The entire time Sam was right behind her, using pure determination to keep up and not let her lose sight of the rock and roll ghost. With one last look down at the receiver, Ember saw that she was now over Huntsville. Without slowing down she scanned the skyline, looking for anything that looked like a NASA base. Once she spotted a wide open strip in the distance it was pretty unmistakable. The giant rocket was kind of a dead giveaway. Making a beeline for the base, Ember put the receiver back into her pocket as she arrived over the space station, looking all around for some kind of sign to where Danny was.
Moving from one end of the base to another she was glancing in every direction, but wasn't seeing anything. Then suddenly out of nowhere she heard a loud roar from down below, followed by a scream.
"What the hell was that?" Ember asked herself as she went a little lower.
What she saw next made her eyes shoot open. Danny had emerged from between a couple buildings, running as fast as he could, but for some reason in his human form. Just as she was about to fly down to him she saw something else that made her eyes open even wider, along with her mouth in a gasp. A giant bear ghost was flying right at him and it didn't seem like it wanted to give him a hug.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM," shouted Ember as she immediately took off right at the bear, gripping her guitar tightly.
Danny heard her shout and looked up, seeing her flying right at the bear and instantly filling his heart with so much joy. Just seeing his girlfriend made his spirits rise, never mind that she was there to help him.
The bear ghost now noticed that Ember was charging right at him and stopped in it's tracks, turning it's attention towards her and growling again. But the furry oversized stuffed animal was no match for Danny's rage filled girlfriend as she slammed her guitar into the bear with all her might, sending it flying away into the side of a nearby building like a missile. Glaring in the direction the bear had just been fired for a few moments, Ember then turned to Danny and zipped herself right towards him, Danny now sprinting towards her.
"Ember, you got my signal," said Danny in overwhelming gratitude as the couple embraced tightly in a huge hug, both savoring the moment.
"I did and I'm here to help with whatever it is that's going on baby pop," said Ember as she tightly took a fistful of Danny's shirt in both hands while hugging him. "And I have so much I need to fill you in on from my own day, but we can get to that later."
As their hug slightly loosened, both Danny and Ember pulled their faces back to look into each other's eyes. After a short linger they leaned in and pressed their lips against each other eagerly. Ember moved her hands to cup Danny's cheeks and Danny wrapped his arms around Ember's waist while they kissed. Just a couple hours ago both of them felt like they might not see each other again due to their respective predicaments. Now that they were together again they felt an even greater need to savor each other's touch. Both of them were getting lost in their passionate kiss, sinking into the moment. But a large shout from up above snapped them out of it. Yet again Sam was getting in the middle of one of their moments, only this time she was doing it deliberately and wanted answers.
"DANNY!" shouted Sam angrily as she approached, seeing their passionate kiss and feeling her blood start to boil as a result.
Danny looked up and saw Sam approaching on the hovercraft, practically jumping out of his skin. He had not been expecting her to show up at all, let alone for her to see him and Ember in a passionate embrace. Clearly something had happened back home for her to show up like this right behind Ember, there's no way that was a coincidence.
"Sam, what are you doing here?" asked Danny as he separated from Ember, not really wanting too but not knowing what else to do right now with this unforeseen circumstance.
"If you don't mind, I'll be the one asking the questions right now," said Sam as the hovercraft stopped and she hopped off, removing the jacket, gloves, and goggles. "For starters, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WITH HER?"
Ember suddenly felt the urge to resume her fight with the goth girl. Now that Danny seemed to be safe from that bear ghost, nothing was keeping her from once again fighting the goth girl. After all she'd had plenty of time to regain her energy from riding her guitar here. Danny however had other concerns.
"Sam this isn't the time, that bear ghost was unfortunately the least of our problems right now," said Danny putting his hands up to try to lower the tension in the air. "Plasmius is here and this whole weekend was a set up by him."
Sam's mood instantly changed upon hearing that Danny's arch nemesis was here and was responsible for everything going on. Ember on the other hand wasn't completely clear since she had never come across Plasmius yet.
"What do you mean Plasmius, who's that?" asked Ember looking at Danny.
Sam couldn't believe that she had the nerve to just talk to Danny so casually as if she was part of their ghost fighting team.
"He's my arch enemy, a half ghost like me, except much older and more experienced," said Danny, just as casually.
Sam's head now snapped to look at Danny. What the hell was going on, Danny was actually talking to her as if she was part of the team? What madness was going on here?
"What's worse is that he used some device on me that disabled my powers," said Danny looking down at himself. "I'm completely powerless until it wears off, which is still another thirty minutes away," said Danny looking at his watch. It showed the time to be 9:15.
"Danny, what the hell are you doing telling her all this, she's an enemy," said Sam as if it were obvious, gesturing dramatically with her hands. She was still convinced that Danny was under some kind of influence, but didn't think it went so far as to including her in their ghost fighting business.
"Sam, Ember isn't my enemy anymore, she's my girlfriend," said Danny softly, earning a smile from Ember and look of disbelief from Sam. It seems the moment he'd most feared had arrived. He was absolutely not ashamed of Ember, far from it. But he had hoped that before anyone found out he'd find a way to show that she wasn't his enemy anymore or evil. Unfortunately it seemed that Sam had found out before he was able to do that, which meant Tucker most likely knew about it too somehow.
"She's got you under some kind of spell Danny," said Sam, acting like she's trying to break him from hypnosis.
"No she doesn't, I promise you," said Danny trying to convince her it was real. Ember was glaring at Sam again and fighting the urge to once again punch her in the face.
"You have to listen to me and break free before..." Sam began but was cut off by the most shocking confession she'd ever heard.
"SAM I LOVE HER" said Danny loudly over her, making everyone completely freeze where they stood, all talking suddenly stopping.
Both Sam's and Ember's mouths practically dropped off their faces as what Danny said sunk in. Ember in particular was having a tidal wave of feeling wash over her, her face completely thunderstruck.
"Wh...what did you say?" said Ember in a stuttering voice, a tear about to run down her face from the most incredible thing she'd ever heard in her entire existence.
Danny looked directly into her eyes and gave her the most loving smile she'd ever seen.

A/N This was by far the most action packed chapter so far, and I had such a blast writing it. I love combat scenes and I feel this was one of my best between all the stories I've written. Having Ember and Sam duke it out is something I've been eager to get to since chapter 1, and I was so satisfied with how it turned out. I'm pretty sure I reviewed/edited this chapter more than any of the previous ones so far. And we also got a spontaneous declaration of love, how exciting ;). There should be plenty more drama after that. I hope everyone loved it, there's still lots more to come. One more time, thank you so much to everyone, I love you all, and please leave a REVIEW!
