After the thirty minutes passed, everyone came back into the room. Severus looked annoyed and only gave a curt nod to Amelia. Which she took gracefully, there would be time to talk later.
Dumbledore who had the book in his hands sighed— "We still have seven chapters to go. I say we read three more before dinner and finish tomorrow morning."
Everyone groaned, this was turning out to be a very exhausting book.
"Not much of a choice"—Arthur nodded— "Better get it over with."
Dumbledore charmed the book to continue.
CHAPTER FIFTEEN –The Quidditch Final
"Malfoy's dad's frightened the Committee into it," said Hermione, wiping her eyes. "You know what he's like. They're a bunch of doddery old fools.
Tonks shook her head—"The thing this man is getting away with is disgusting."
Arthur smiled kindly at Hermione. – "You're not wrong in that. One of the main problems with our Politicians is that they are too old, there's nothing wrong with being traditional. It becomes a problem when tradition doesn't let innovation come through."
"Hermione Shouldn't have done Any work alone."-Tonks reprimanded the boys.
"Oh well, he was old. Really Ron, you gave the poor girl hell That's all you're going to say."
"Everyone in this book is behaving badly".
"Bad year and the introduction to hormones wasn't a good combination."
then Lucius Malfoy stood up an' said his bit, and the Committee jus' did exac'ly what he told 'em…"
"He probably bought his way"
Amelia frowned and wrote down the Committee of the magical creature department. She sighed— "After this book is over, I would like it if we started planning. We can't and won't leave this time bubble with no plans done. I can't have the ministry functioning like this".
A few of them nodded and Sirius scoffed— "Good luck with that."
"Have you ever seen anything quite as pathetic?" said Malfoy. "And he's supposed to be our teacher!" Harry and Ron both made furious moves toward Malfoy, but Hermione got there first — SMACK! She had slapped Malfoy across the face with all the strength she could muster. Malfoy staggered as Hermione raised her hand again. "Don't you dare call Hagrid pathetic, you foul — you evil, Hermione pulled out her wand. Malfoy stepped backward.
The twins were mouth opened and the girls were clapping. — "Go, Hermione!"
"My my…the kitten got claws."
Hermione made a face— "I hate nicknames."
Snape had to look down to fight the smile, he knew when it happened. Draco had demanded Granger get punished but he had denied it given it would only embarrass his godson and get him in trouble with his father.
Hagrid chuckled but pointed a finger at her— "Very nice of you Hermione but don't get into trouble for me. That boy can be very nasty"—he ignored Snape's glares.
Hermione shrugged— "I defend my friends."
Minerva pinched her lips—"Miss Granger I thought you had been more careful in your disappearances"
Hermione frowned— "So have I …it's not that easy."
the Cheering Charms had left them with a feeling of great contentment.
"That's the danger of cheering charms, they are illusions, just like Felix's Felicis and humor charms. They can become addictive and harmful"—Dumbledore said.
Hermione was sitting at a table, fast asleep, her head resting on an open Arithmancy book. They went to sit down on either side of her. Harry prodded her awake.
"Wh — what?" said Hermione, waking with a start and staring wildly around. "Is it time to go? W — which lesson have we got now?"
Andromeda tensed— "Hermione, did you visit a Healer after using the device?"
"No…"
"So, you don't know the lasting effect it had on you?"—
"Not really, I know it took time from me but…"
"You're probably older than your supposed to be and your core changed"
Hermione eyes widened— "Is that bad?"
"No idea dear, I would like to check you over later."
Hermione nodded and the rest of them looked slightly worried, it clearly looks like the time-turner took a tool on her. Sirius would talk to Andy, if Hermione needed anything he would make sure to get her the best care, he was here because of her after all.
"You know what, Hermione?" said Ron, "I reckon you're cracking up. You're trying to do too much."
"The boy is speaking sense."
"Let them take care of you Hermione, that's what friends are for"—Neville slightly reprimanded her.
"Well, honestly… 'the fates have informed her'. Who sets the exam? She does! What an amazing prediction!" she said, not troubling to keep her voice low. Harry and Ron choked back laughs.
"Miss Granger!"
Harry, at least, felt extremely foolish, staring blankly at the crystal ball, trying to keep his mind empty when thoughts such as "this is stupid" Ron kept breaking into silent giggles and Hermione kept tutting.
Sirius laughed— "Oh, I would too, damn class sounds infuriating."
Ron whispered. "It's obvious what this means. There's going to be loads of fog tonight."
Both Harry and Hermione burst out laughing.
A few in the room chuckled. Molly shook her head disapprovingly. — "Maybe you should have changed to a more challenging class Ron, both of you."
The boys shrugged. Ron liked the easy work and Harry had no time to worry about anything else than staying alive, he remembers he hates divination until it's time to take the class.
Harry felt his heart sinking. He was sure he knew what was coming —
"There is something here!"
"Of course, there is."
"She has something out for Harry."
growing ever closer… the Gr —"
"Oh, for goodness' sake!" said Hermione loudly. "Not that ridiculous Grim again!" (…) you do not have what the noble art of Divination requires. Indeed, I don't remember ever meeting a student whose mind was so hopelessly mundane."
Hermione rolled her eyes at the reminder of that day. Her views had changed a little since then but she still believed divination to be just too unstable to actually relied on it.
"Well, that's just rude of her, not everyone will agree with her believes."
"Everyone gets tired of hearing their friend suppose death."
"OH I bet that was the talk of the week"
"It was, no one could believe Hermione Granger had yelled at a professor."
The third years had never had so much homework. Neville Longbottom seemed close to a nervous collapse, and he wasn't the only one.
Percy spoke— "Third year is made a small example of what is to come for Fifth, plus you didn't have your final exams in second, so it was even harder."
"We realize that now"—Neville agreed.
she had shadows like Lupin's under her eyes and seemed constantly close to tears.
Andromeda and Minerva turned to Hermione— "You should have told someone."
Hermione sighed— "Then you would have taken it away."
"Oh so you can actually do some work"—Charlie mocked Ron who shrugged—"When I'm motivated"
"You've got that, haven't you? You must catch the Snitch only if we're —"
"I KNOW, OLIVER!" Harry yelled.
"Damn, he sounds on edge."
"He had all of us on edge, he was so nervous"—Harry said.
"Being a professional quidditch player is very nerve-racking and exhausting. Not everyone has the chance."
tension between the two teams and their Houses was at the breaking point. A number of small scuffles broke out in the corridors, culminating in a nasty incident in which a Gryffindor fourth year and a Slytherin sixth year ended up in the hospital wing with leeks sprouting out of their ears.
Sirius leaned into Harry— "That's the kind of stuff we used to do to them."
He couldn't walk to class without Slytherins sticking out their legs and trying to trip him up;
Harry rolled his eyes— "I couldn't live like that; it was an exhausting week."
Sirius gave him a look— "Because your life is so calm."
Harry stuck his tongue out.
Wood had given instructions that Harry should be accompanied everywhere he went, in case the Slytherins tried to put him out of action.
"Those damn fucker"—Sirius said, Remus laughed— "Don't worry I kept watch. Learned a few new hexes."
Harry smiled at Remus; he didn't know that.
"They were vicious, they tried to hex Alicia, but she's quick with her reflexes and moved. They sent a second year to Poppy."
Harry was more concerned for his Firebolt's safety than his own.
"Yeah, I would to"
"Isn't it in your dorm?"
"It's a broom for crying out loud."
Harry slept badly. First he dreamed that he had overslept, and that Wood was yelling, "Where were you? We had to use Neville instead!"
Neville laughed out loud—"Believe me we would lose and not because I played horribly, I will never get close to a bludger even if you pay me"
"Mmm Nev has well built for Keeper."
Neville blush-"I have a good built to own a team not play in one"—people laughed and Harry thump up Nev for his comment.
Ginny mocked him—"Ugh Ritch boy"
the Slytherin team arrived for the match riding dragons. He was flying at breakneck speed, trying to avoid a spurt of flames from Malfoy's steed's mouth, when he realized he had forgotten his Firebolt.
"Foreshadowing"—Harry said—"It's unnerving"
"Don't say, you dreamed the first Triwizard task"
"Can you ride a dragon?"—Luna asked Charlie who nod in affirmative—"Not all of them but yes back in the 1600s and 1700s it was a career but Dragons were almost extinct in the early 1800s its until now that we have more but they are highly controlled, still there a few people that can ride"
"Do you?"—Kingsley asked curiously, having a dragon rider would be a great advantage.
"No, in the reserve there are only two who can ride, controlling such powerful beasts is hard labor"—
Hagrid looked fascinated.
An animal of some kind was prowling across the silvery lawn.
"You saw me that far up?"—Sirius said impressed.
"You scared me to death; I was really starting to believe I was being hunted."
a gigantic, shaggy black dog, moving stealthily across the lawn, Crookshanks trotting at its side.
"Did you and Crookshanks have conversations?"—Hermione asked
"Not like actual people, animals can sense emotions, especially danger, and fear. He understood my aversion to the rat, and I knew he would protect you, plus I believe though he couldn't remember me he felt like he knew me."
Harry and the rest of the Gryffindor team entered the Great Hall the next day to enormous applause.
The students smiled at the memory, everything seemed so much simpler at that moment.
"Good luck, Harry!" called Cho. Harry felt himself blushing.
Ginny and Luna made a face at that, and Hermione covered her giggles while Harry blush. Sirius turned to his godson, he wondered…they would have to talk to him about girls and stuff, he shuddered.
Three quarters of the crowd was wearing scarlet rosettes, waving scarlet flags two hundred people were wearing green; the silver serpent of Slytherin glittered on their flags, and Professor Snape sat in the very front row, wearing green like everyone else, and a very grim smile.
"You knew they were going to lose"—Kingsley told him.
Snape rolled his eyes— "It was a very taxing week; I just wanted it to be over."
Ron smiled and leaned toward Harry and whispered—"Naa, he knew they were screwed"
Hermione smacked his hand for the language.
the best team Hogwarts has seen in a good few years —"
"We still are, if only we had more time to practice."
Captain Flint. He's made some changes in the lineup and seems to be going for size rather than skill —"
"Oh, they are going for pain"—Tonks said.
"Pain? They were trying to kill us"—Harry said, and Molly turned to look at him concerned.
"And it's Gryffindor in possession,
George smiled at the memory— "One of the most intense Games I played."
"It was awesome"—Harry agreed.
"I was a nervous wreck, the Slytherin was really trying to take you down and they were being so dirty"—Ginny said
Angelina was nearly thrown from her broom as Marcus Flint went smashing into her.
"Sorry!" said Flint as the crowd below booed. "Sorry, didn't see her!"
A moment later, Fred Weasley chucked his Beater's club at the back of Flint's head. Flint's nose smashed into the handle of his broom and began to bleed.
Tonks and Fleur were indignant— "How the hell did he not see her"
"Stupid troll."
Molly looked at Fred—"Did you consider that would hurt him?"
"Yes, that's why I did it. No one touches Angie"
Montague, a Slytherin Chaser, had swerved in front of Katie, and instead of seizing the Quaffle had grabbed her head.
"What the hell!"-Charlie yelled—"That could have killed her."
"That is a dangerous foul"
"Lee is right, dirty cheating pigs"—Fleur said
"I hope Katie got revenge out of the pitch"
"We did"—Said the twins
He had seen the Snitch but he mustn't catch it yet
WHOOSH. One of the Bludgers came streaking past Harry's right ear
WHOOSH. The second Bludger grazed Harry's elbow.
"Fuckers"
"That's why I never liked Quidditch"—Hermione said earning a few gasps. — "What is true, everything I know about quidditch has been forced on me."
Luna laughed— "I remember the first bludger, I thought it had hit you."
"Almost, it made my ear ring."
Lee swore so badly that Professor McGonagall tried to tug the magical megaphone away from him.
Sirius and Remus laughed; Minerva didn't look amused— "It's not funny."
"Oh yes, it is."
"Remus commented a few times, got in trouble for saying fuck a lot."
It was turning into the dirtiest game Harry had ever played in.
"It made me appreciate an offense game; I wouldn't mind giving it a try."
"No"—Hermione stated— "You already get enough injuries. We don't need more."
Harry rolled his eyes— "Yes Mom."
Bole hit Alicia with his club and tried to say he'd thought she was a Bludger. George Weasley elbowed Bole in the face in retaliation.
"At this point, they are not playing quidditch they are just hurting themselves."
he saw it. The Snitch was sparkling twenty feet above him.
Harry put on a huge burst of speed; the wind was roaring in his ears; he stretched out his hand, but suddenly, the Firebolt was slowing down — Malfoy had thrown himself forward, grabbed hold of the Firebolt's tail, and was pulling it back.
"Foul!"—Sirius said angrily— "Fucking cheat"
"Slytherin used to have honor"—Andy Tutted
"You didn't even attend the games"—Her husband said amused.
"Why not?"—George asked her.
"Busy doing other things"—She signaled Ted, Tonks made in Ew face.
Harry was angry enough to hit Malfoy, but couldn't reach.
"A rare sight of you Harry, I don't think I have ever seen you hit someone"—Neville said.
Sirius raised his hand making Harry pull it back down— "I'm not proud of that."
Professor McGonagall didn't even bother to tell him off. She was actually shaking her finger in Malfoy's direction, her hat had fallen off, and she too was shouting furiously.
Snape looked bored, did they have to read about the quidditch games, nothing important was showing here except Minerva's hypocrisy.
Harry threw himself forward, took both hands off his broom. He knocked Malfoy's arm out of the way and — The tiny golden ball was held tight in his fist, beating its wings hopelessly against his fingers. Wood was speeding toward him, half-blinded by tears; he seized Harry around the neck and sobbed unrestrainedly into his shoulder. Harry felt two large thumps as Fred and George hit them; then Angelina's, Alicia's, and Katie's voices, "We've won the Cup! We've won the Cup!"
"Oh, Wood sounds so cute"
"He was cute"—Ginny agreed with Luna making the twins gag.
Percy smiled— "He slept with the cup. It meant a lot to him"—he said sounding quiet at the end. He had none of those friends anymore.
"Everyone was very happy"—Hagrid smiled
— "It was intense."
Harry felt he could have produced the world's best Patronus.
"If only I could always feel like that."
Sirius looked sad and hugged Harry tightly. Harry chuckled but hugged him back. – "I'm alright pads."
I am back, ok don't get mad I have a lot to do in the real world.
But I haven't forgotten this story and I won't abandon it, and if you are waiting for an update on my other Harry Potter stories they are on their way.
I know this is a small chapter but I needed to update it so you wouldn't feel like I've disappeared. Regarding a few of your reviews, I also took some time because Yes I agree it was getting repetitive like I'm going in circles, and I'm trying to find a way to change that... I'm thinking of getting people to talk to each other but I don't know who to start with.
Molly and her children.
Amelia and Dumbledore
The trio
Harry, Sirius, Remus
I don't know about Sirius and Snape yet...things are a little too aggressive with them
As for the planning, I've written ideas on paper of the changes and preparations they can do to fix the war but we still have a little to go for that.
And...I plan on reacting to the whole seven books. All to the epilogue though that's still a maybe because I hate that chapter.
Well, that's all, hope you like it and ill probably be posting by the end of the month.
Please Review and remember I do this for fun.
