CHAPTER SIXTEEN—PROFESSOR TRELAWNEY'S PREDICTION
Harry's euphoria at finally winning the Quidditch Cup lasted at least a
week.
"That's called being high."
"Have you been high?"—Sirius whispered to Harry.
Harry gave him an Incredulous look. —"Where would I get high?"—Sirius just chuckled. Harry rolled his eyes, another marauder story that he was going to need to find out.
"Dragon Fumes work wonderfully for that."
"Charlie Weasley, you're not implying that people should do dragon fumes to be happy, are you? -Molly accused
"Of course, not they're highly addictive".
"And illegal."—Kingsley reminded him amused.
"I'm just saying that..."
"Maybe stop talking."—Bill advised him.
Fleur turned to McGonagall. —"Have you ever considered doing The Spring Equinox ritual?"
"We used to do them; my generation still did the rituals for the seasons but with time we were advised to modify them."
Andromeda huffed— "Which was a horrible mistake, they're part of our culture, a culture that Muggle-born do not learn".
Hermione turned to Andromeda. – "But aren't some of them dark magic?"
Andromeda looked incredibly offended. —"Magic is not dark or light, the multiple wars have made it like that. Magic is a beautiful thing that connects you with Earth, with yourself, with your core, with your soul. It's how you use it That gives it a meaning. The spring ritual is beautiful, my Aunt Melania, Sirius's grandmother, used to do it with us when we were younger."
Augusta agreed. — "If I'm correctly she tried to reinstate them when she was alive".
Minerva wrote it down—"I suppose there would be one of the things I could add to the list of things to change".
As Percy hoped to enter the Ministry of Magic, he needed top grades. He was becoming increasingly edgy and gave very severe punishments to anybody.
"How wonderful of you, Percy."
Charlie looked at Percy in question-"Did it work for you..."-Charlie was going to keep talking but Percy quickly defend himself.
"It did. I have a stable job, I work good hours, I'm in charge of important people and I am meeting important people of our political society. I'm quite proud."
Fred scoffed. —"And We would be proud of you too if you hadn't given your back on your family for all of those wonderful things."
They had Potions that afternoon, which was an unqualified disaster.
Snape, standing watch with an air of vindictive pleasure.
Snape rolled his eyes at Potters Dramatics. Brewing was an art, and he couldn't have idiots messing it up, He turn around to everyone, seeing who was going to yell at him or criticize him this time, but other than a few glares and shakings of heads, there was nothing. Maybe they would finally leave him alone and realize that their children are not as bright as they think.
History of Magic on Wednesday morning, in which Harry scribbled everything Florean Fortescue had ever told him about medieval witch-hunts.
Harry smiled proudly. – "I got an A that year."
"Why not hire Mr. Florean, as our new history teacher?"
Dumbledore chuckled at Luna. —"I'm afraid I've already done that offer and he wants to stay with his ice cream shop."
"Is Florean the only Historian that exists in Britain?"—Augusta asked unimpressed
Minerva raised her hand, pacifying. —"I will fix Banne's situation."
"Better late than never."—Harry whispered to Hermione.
Neville spoke. —"I don't know why you complain about herbology It's fascinating."
"I have to agree with Neville."—George said. —"We have many variety of plants in our products. And I'm going to tell you, Hogwarts is lacking magical plants."
Neville wholeheartedly agreed. He turned to the twins. —"Oh, do you want plans? You can use the ones in my greenhouse."
The Twins smiled widely at Neville.
Professor Lupin had compiled the most unusual exam any of them had ever taken; a sort of obstacle course outside in the sun, where they had to wade across a deep paddling pool containing a grindylow, cross a series of potholes full of Red Caps, squish their way across a patch of marsh while ignoring misleading directions from a hinkypunk, then climb into an old trunk and battle with a new boggart.
"Hey, that's quite impressive."—Charlie said.
"I remember that exam. Is one of the best Exams I've ever had." -
"That could be a really good Auror activity."—Kingsley said.
"To simple we got to upgrade it"—Alastor said.
Nymphadora Grinned—"I would have loved your class."
"The Class or the professor?"—Ted said out loud Making Remus blush—
"Both, I would have been awfully distracted"—Tonks winked at Remus
"Of course, Harry had full marks."
"Really it wasn't that hard."
All the teenagers in the room gave him a half glare—"I feel like he's mocking us."
Harry smiled petulantly, He kind of was. Defence was his best subject, he knows that he has to be incredibly prepared in that subject, because of his life but maybe he was good at defense because his parents had been great Wizards.
Bill sympathized with Ron. —"The hinky punks are nasty little creatures, You can find them a lot in caves as well and there is nowhere to run"
Hermione burst out again, screaming.
"Hermione!" said Lupin, startled. "What's the matter?"
"P - P - Professor McGonagall!" Hermione gasped, pointing into the
trunk. "Sh-she said I'd failed everything!"
I few teenagers laughed, and some parents smiled But Ted, look at Hermione with understanding And he spoke up. —"It's not about failing everything; it's about not having the possibility of returning. It's a fear in the Muggle-borns if we do wrong they will take magic from us".
Hermione, who was frowning at the book remembering that exam, turned to Ted and Gave him a tense smile. Ron flinched remembering how he had mocked her for it. —"You never said."
Hermione shrugged. —"You never asked."
Cornelius Fudge started at the sight of Harry.
Arthur laughed. —"He sounds so thrilled to see you. Very different from the day of your hearing I thought he was going to have an Apoplexy."
Percy wanted to Scoff Of course you would have been put out if you came face to face with the person spreading lies and terrifying everyone. But he bit his lip. Was Harry really telling lies? There has been no proof of the Dark Lord rising. But Harry had encountered him in his first year. His sister had been possessed by him. He took a deep breath, he just wanted this to end.
"I'm here on an unpleasant mission, Harry. The Committee for the
Disposal of Dangerous Creatures required a witness to the execution of a
mad hippogriff.
Fleur was indignant.—"Just like that, They did absolutely no revision, They didn't discuss it, they just plain decided to execute him?"
Hagrid nodded sadly. —"Yes. I was terrified for my Poor Buckbeak."
Amelia didn't know how to react anymore. Here she was reading how the Minister of Magic was being a fool—"He's there because of Lucius, isn't he?"
"Obviously."—Kingsley said.—"When has the Minister of Magic gone to an execution of an animal?"
Ginny asked.—"How much money do you think Malfoy Pays fudge?"—
"Hopefully a lot Because he's practically putting The country at his feet."
Molly smiled sadly at her son.—"Ron, you're not being as discreet as you think."
Ron gave her a confused look.
"You're obviously antagonizing the Minister of Magic."
"Ron, your dad works for the Ministry, you can't go saying things like
that to his boss!"
"Trust me, Hermione, Fudge does not bother with me."–Arthur Paused—"I retract that, he didn't used to bother with me. Now I'm being watched."
Harry made a face, he was remembering Trelawny's Prediction. If only he had been more cautious with it. Maybe if he had told Dumbledore or Professor McGonagle things would have gone differently. He turned to look at the professors and shook his head, no Professor McGonagall wouldn't believe him, and Dumbledore would have let things play out.
Ron kept checking his watch; Harry knew that he was counting down the time until Buckbeak's appeal started.
Hagrid smiled kindly at the trio, that's why he liked him. Nosy but they were good kids.
"She says the crystal ball's told her that if I tell you, I'll have a
horrible accident!" squeaked Neville
"Oh please It's obvious that she doesn't want any of you talking about it."
"Does she enjoy terrorizing children?"
"Maybe she only seems bad omens."
"Or maybe she's so drunk that's the only thing she sees. Hermione said she drinks."
Hermione defended herself. — "I said she smell like cherry. I never said that she was a drunk. I'm just clarifying that."
Ron "she's a right old fraud."
"I tried to invent something and she ended up saying that I would probably fall and break my leg."
Harry turned to Ron with his eyes wide open. Hermione, Sirius, and Remus were also giving a pointed look. –"You did break your leg"
Ron opened his mouth and shut it.—"Oh, Shit maybe she only sees bad omens."
"Language!"
"My boy, you may well be seeing the outcome of poor Hagrid's trouble with the Ministry of Magic!
"Maybe I would believe her a bit more If she didn't use that tone."
"It's her mystical tone."
Ginny scoffed—"She makes you feel stupid. Do you want a mystical tone? Luna, right here. Sleepy, drowsy, but Words full of truths that make you awkwardly uncomfortable."
Lunda smiled at her and stuck her tongue out.
Harry pointed at the book And look at Mrs. Longbottom.—This is why I know she's not a fraud. I just now wish I could have known she was telling the truth.
Everyone was paying attention.
Harry got up, picked up his bag and turned to go, but then a
loud, harsh voice spoke behind him.
"IT WILL HAPPEN TONIGHT."
Harry wheeled around. Professor Trelawney had gone rigid She looked as though she was about to have some sort of seizure.
then Professor Trelawney spoke
"THE DARK LORD LIES ALONE AND FRIENDLESS, ABANDONED BY HIS FOLLOWERS. HIS SERVANT HAS BEEN CHAINED THESE TWELVE YEARS. TONIGHT, BEFORE MIDNIGHT... THE SERVANT WILL BREAK FREE AND SET OUT TO REJOIN HIS MASTER. THE DARK LORD WILL RISE AGAIN WITH HIS SERVANTS AID, GREATER AND MORE TERRIBLE THAN EVER HE WAS. TONIGHT... BEFORE MIDNIGHT... THE SERVANT... WILL SET OU... TO REJOIN... HIS MASTER...Professor Trelawney's head snapped up again.
Dumbledore Paused the book, He saw the expression on some of their faces, the first time some of them are hearing a true prophecy made. He slightly looked at Severus Who had turned a little pale.
Hermione was the first one that spoke. —So that's what a prophecy sounds like, Interesting…"
"It sounds scary." —Gina said. — "Like it's not her"
"A lot of Muggles believed in Possession. Demonic possession especially during the witch hunts. Maybe they weren't being possessed, they were just seers. —Harry said
Augusta agreed with her. —"That is one of the theories regarding those Muggle myths".
Kingsley looked at Harry. —"You didn't believe her at all, did you?"
Harry Shook his head. — "A year of her predicting my death. I thought she was messing with me and I... I just let it go to the back of my head."
"The problem with prophecies."—Amelia said. —"Is that the seer Doesn't remember giving one? Only the true powerful seers Can interact with their gift and reality at the same time."
Dumbledore nodded—" which is what her Great grandmother was able to do."
Hermione turned to look at Luna with a calculating gaze. She's going to keep a closer eye on the Girl.
Mrs. Longbottom asked Harry. —"Who is she talking about?"
"This is the night where I find out about everything, who Sirius is and the whole Peter Pettigrew thing."
Molly fidgeted with her fingers. Why did everything happen around Harry? Why can't the boy have a calm, normal year?
Professor Trelawney looked thoroughly startled.
"The Dark Lord? He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named? My dear boy, that's hardly something to joke about... Rise again, indeed -"
"See, she has absolutely no idea what she just said."
"She predicted his return exactly one year before, I wonder if that's her limit?"—Luna pointed out.
"What do you mean?"
"A Seers Power is limited. There has never been a seer that looks too far into the future, Except of course an Oracle but there hasn't been one registered in many hundreds of years and Some seers Have to touch the person to give the prediction."
"So maybe she only has the ability to predict a few months in."
"Perhaps." —Luna said
Nobody but Dumbledore paid attention to Severus shuddered, he hated Trelawny, and he always made sure to stay as far away from her as possible. He needed to speak to Dumbledore about the other prophecy and how they were going to manage that conversation with the others.
"Buckbeak lost," said Ron weakly.
"And just like that, you forgot everything about Trelawny."
"It's understandable, are you really going to believe the teacher that's been predicting your death All year?"
"No, but it only makes you realize that Harry has the worst luck".
"Harry agrees"-
"We've got to go," said Harry at once.
Hagrid shook his head— "You're good Friends, I didn't want you there, didn't want you to see that."
"And we didn't want you to be alone."
"Hermione, I don't know what's gotten, into you lately!" said Ron,
astounded. "First you hit Malfoy, then you walk out on Professor
Trelawney -" Hermione looked rather flattered.
"I was flattered because you were finally noticing my personality."
"I notice… You…"
Harry laughed. —"Yeah, right. Hermione, you're a girl…"
Hermione chuckled and Ron rolled his eyes.
Molly spoke—"Oh Hagrid., you sound so sad."
"I was."-Haggard sniffed.—"I had no idea what to do with myself."
Lucius Malfoy's like... threatened 'em, I expect... an' the executioner, Macnair, he's an old pal o' Malfoy's... but it'll be quick
an' clean... an' I'll be beside him... "
Harry made a sound of disgust. It got everyone's attention. –"In the graveyard, Voldemort promised Mcnair better victims soon"
A few of them had horrifying looks. Amelia was writing down it had been a while since she had written anything on her parchment.
"Oh, Hermione you sound so emotional."
"I felt so hopeless, we worked so hard finding the information, and Hagrid and I practice a lot and it was for nothing because Lucius Malfoy has more money and he has…"
Harry and Ron put both a hand on her shoulder, and the adults realized Hermione was still very upset by the situation.
Then, as she picked up the milk bottle to pour some into the jug, she let out a shriek. "Ron, I don't believe it - it's Scabbers!"
Ron's mad look of disgust.—"You should have smashed him with the bottle."
"I felt very relieved that you would finally Stop being angry at me."
"Scabbers!" said Ron blankly. "Scabbers, what are you doing here?"
He grabbed the struggling rat and held him up to the light.
"Oh, he knew, The little shit knew that I was nearby."
"You couldn't smell him?"—Arthur asked Sirius.
"No, I wasn't around much. I stayed near Hogsmeade or the bridge. I only got close to the school during the night. And yet, sometimes I couldn't"
"He's really trying to get away. Why not leave since the beginning? Why stay behind?"
Molly grabbed onto her husband. This was it. She was going to finally know what happened that day. She looked at Arthur and felt the pang of anger again, he had kept the information from her. She knew of Peter Pettigrew, she knew the man had been at Hogwarts, she knew he was a rat but her mind never made the connection and it made her feel so stupid.
Harry turned to Hermione. —"The other thing was happening at the same time as we were leaving, and we were there…"
"Don't think about it, Harry you're going to get a headache."
"Scabbers, it's me, you idiot, it's Ron," Ron hissed.
"Stupify him."
"Bodybend him."
"I had no idea what was going on with him. For a moment I thought it wasn't even Scabbers I only knew for sure because of the missing...toe."
There was a jumble of indistinct male voices, a silence, and then, without warning, the unmistakable swish and thud of an axe.
"But he didn't kill it. What did you hear?"
"For Merlin's sake please tell me you didn't change so much of the past that you stole the hippogriff even though he was murdered. That would have…"
"We didn't do that"—Hermione, pacifying Amelia. Dumbledore spoke. —"McNair was quite Disappointed he didn't get to do his task, so he took it out on the pumpkins."
"Idiot."
McNair is a psychopath he enjoys killing, so if you ever encounter him, stay away from him."—Remus warned them.
Mad-eye—"Or take him out before he takes you out."
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN—CAT, RAT, AND DOG
"ah, here we go."
Ron "What's the matter with you, You stupid rat? Stay still - OUCH! He bit me!"
"I suppose he bite you at the same time he smelled me."
Charlie said—"I'm still going to say it again. Why did he stay behind? Why didn't he just leave from the start? It's been missing since December."
"Because he knew there was no way out."—Kingsley said
"He's a coward."
Ron had thrown the Invisibility Cloak off himself and pelted away into the darkness.
"No Self-preservation"
Bell looks surprised.—"You really like that rat, huh? Mass murder on the loose and you decide to go into the Forbidden Forest just like that."
"He Was my pet. I would do the same thing for Pig Bloody Bird"
they heard the soft pounding of gigantic paws... Harry reached for his wand, but too late - the dog had made an enormous leap and the front paws hit him on the chest;
"Oh shit."—Sirius turned to Harry and tried to soothe him—"Did that hurt?"
"Yeah knock the wind out of me."
"My bad, I was in a bit of a hurry".
Dazed, feeling as though his ribs were broken, Harry tried to stand up;
"This is where you start yelling for help."
"No, no."—Tonks said—"You must yell fire. If you yell Help not many people care"
the dog's jaws fastened instead around Ron's outstretched arm.
was dragging Ron away as easily as though he were a rag doll –
Molly gasped—"Did you have to be so aggressive with them?"
Sirius turns to her. —"In all honesty, Molly, I was in a haze I remember this now."—he shrugged—"With more clarity than I used to, but at that moment… I really wasn't thinking clearly."
"Can you imagine if they would have yelled for help? Dumbledore, the committee, and Cornelius were down there. What do you think would have been their reaction?"
"I don't think we would have heard them."—Dumbledore said. —"We were inside Hagrid's home, only McNair stayed behind"
"Ron!" Harry shouted, trying to follow, but a heavy branch whipped
lethally through the air.
"You're never going to pass the Willow."
Remus said. —"You're lucky it didn't hit Behead you."
"Can you imagine that headline, Harry Potter was killed by Tree?"
"Ginny that's not funny."
Ron's leg had broken, and a moment later, his foot vanished from sight.
"Ouch!"
"For merlin sake, Sirius—Molly said getting antsy— "Stop and think"
"Again, Ron, I'm sorry."
"It's fine when Madam Pomfrey fixed it quickly."
"Still"—George said as he shared another look with Fred, they had done the same thing Percy had done, they ignored his siblings. —"That must have hurt like hell."
"It did because it broke at a strange angle. Almost passed out, I think I did cause I felt like the passage was too short. Also didn't help that Sirius bumped my leg and my head on the stairs when he dragged me to the room."
Sirius closed his eyes and rubbed his temple. —"I was really crazy."
"Were?"—A few people ask him, and he gave them the finger.
Snape was attentive to everything that was being read. He remembered that night It was one of the few times that he and Dumbledore had truly fought. It was one of those rare occasions that he remembered he used to be a death eater and he was capable of murdering people.
Hermione gasped; she was bleeding too; the Willow had cut her across the shoulder."No! That thing's big enough to eat him; we haven't got time -"
"This is where one of you goes to get help and the other one stays behind to check that the situation doesn't escalate."—
Hermione shook her head. —"I wasn't going to give my back to Harry, the moment I left, the moment he was going into that passage."
"Maybe you should have taught him how to do a message with a Patronus."
Remus looked like he was considering it.
But Harry spoke. —"Then we would have ended in the same place, I would have sent the message to the only professor that was going to believe me, Remus. The same people that ended in the shack."
Remus felt warmth, knowing that he had earned Harry's trust so quickly and McGonagall Bristle A little at the implications in Harry's words.
"Crookshanks!" Hermione whispered
"He's friends with that dog," said Harry grimly.
"That's one very clever cat."
"Isn't it terrifying how smart kneazles are so smart?"—Neville said
"It's more terrifying knowing that Crookshanck is half a kneazle"
"At that moment, I'm sure the situation became more absurd to Hermione".
"Oh no, my night Got more Absurd within a few hours of that."
All Harry could think of was Ron and what the enormous dog might be doing to him...
"It's not like I was going to Eat him."
Harry turns to his godfather. —"How was I supposed to know that? You were supposed to be the criminal that wanted me dead, remember?"
It was a room, a very disordered, dusty room. Paper was peeling from the
walls; there were stains all over the floor; every piece of furniture was broken as though somebody had smashed it. The windows were all.
boarded up.
The twins looked surprised—"So that's how it looks like on the inside."
"Not much for Decoration."
Remus turned to them Slightly annoyed —"It was built to Contain a werewolf during the full moon. Not to accommodate someone on a holiday. The walls are barricaded with numerous amounts of wards." –Sirius went to grab his hand; he knew this was difficult for Remus he hated that house. It represents everything he didn't want to be.
"I think we're in the Shrieking Shack."
Amelia was looking between Sirius, Remus, and Snape. She wasn't going to allow another situation but now she was understanding why Severus was angry…. Sirius had sent him to his death and Snape had taken the time and endangered himself just to prove that he was Right. Idiot fools all five of them, six If she counted Dumbledore.
Wand held tightly before him, Harry kicked the door wide open.
"No second doubt"-Mad-eye said
"No fear"-Neville said
"No Fear? I was terrified out of my mind."
stuck out at a strange angle, was Ron.
"Not a dog," Ron moaned. His teeth were gritted with pain. "Harry, it's
a trap -"
"Oh Ronnie, you sound in pain"
"I was a little Concuss. I'm fine, Mom. It was a long time ago."
A mass of filthy, matted hair hung to his elbows. If eyes hadn't been
shining out of the deep, dark sockets, he might have been a corpse. The
waxy skin was stretched so tightly over the bones of his face, it looked
like a skull. His yellow teeth were bared in a grin. It was Sirius
Black.
Sirius flinches—"I sound horrible and a little mad."
"You sound terrifying."
"No wonder they weren't believing you"
"Expelliarmus!"he croaked, pointing Ron's wand at them.
"Damn it, Weasley, you don't say it's a trap, you say he has my wand. That could have been the Killing Curse."
"I thought you'd come and help your friend," he said hoarsely. "Your father would have done the same for me. I'm grateful... it will make everything much
Sirius finally understood.— "I see… That didn't come out as I thought it did. I thought I was explaining myself"
Andromeda shook her head.— "You sound like a villain."
"Just get to the point."
The taunt about his father rang in Harry's ears boiling hate erupted in Harry's chest, leaving no place for fear. For the first time in his life, he wanted his wand back in his hand, not to defend himself, but to attack... to kill.
Molly, Hermione, and Minerva gasp. Dumbledore closed his eyes and Harry tried to make himself small he leaned into Sirius. —"I'm sorry."—Sirius shook his head and held him close, giving a small kiss to his head.
Amelia looked At the boy in front of her—"That's what revenge makes you feel. That's why so many people kill for it."
Ron, however, spoke to Black. "If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us too!" he said fiercely, though the effort of standing upright was draining him of still more color, and he swayed slightly as he spoke.
The adults were Completely surprised at the loyalty Ron was showing to Harry. It was very rare when someone was willing to give up their life for someone else.
Sirius, who was still holding Harry close to his chest. Turn to look at Remus, This is what the Marauders used to be, This is the kind of loyalty they had between each other And Sirius couldn't understand When had everything gone wrong.
Molly was sniffing She had her eyes closed, Her son was once again in danger. There was no one to help them, She didn't remember what she was doing that day, She was probably feeding the chickens or working on her knitting. And yet her son was here, facing a mass murderer, giving up his life for his best friend. When had life turned so complicated for them?
"Lie down," he said quietly to Ron. "You will damage that leg even more."
Bill laughed, Earning a look from everybody.—Sorry, it's the tone Sirius said it, like please sit down you're going to hurt yourself"
"Why can't this happen when everybody was together? Once again, it's at a moment in your time of day when there's no professor there's no one to get help… Why is it always you three?"
Luna hummed.—"It's how it's supposed to be. Ron said No matter how it happens In the end, it's always Harry."
"But this isn't about Voldemort."
"But it is."—Luna Small kindly at Professor McGonagall. —" The moment Hermione found Peter, the prophecy was going to find a way."
Harry turned to look at Luna –"That sounds like a lot of bad luck."
"It's bad luck if you make it bad luck."
"You're making no sense, Luna."—Never told her.
She sighed.—"I never do."
Dumbledore stared at Luna, It only cemented his idea, he needed to start telling Sirius about the prophecy, it wasn't going to be an easy conversation but if what Miss Lovegood said was true. And he knew it was. There was no way around the prophecy Trelawny had made years ago. He sighed and leaned back into his chair. He really hoped the future books showed them a way out.
Harry swallowed and buried deeper into Sirius's side, Luna made it sound so definitive and maybe it was, at least that's how it has always felt for him, but that didn't mean the idea didn't terrify him.
"You'll have to kill all three of us!"
"There'll be only one murder here tonight," said Brack,
Ted reprimanded—"Oh for heaven's sake, Sirius You couldn't phrase that better?"—
As I said, I didn't realize it wasn't sounding as I thought it was."
"Harry is going to lose his shit"-George said
What's the matter, gone soft in Azkaban?"
Harry closed his eyes, sometimes he would think back on that night, and the many other reactions they all could have had. The many Other outcomes that could have been.
Tonks shook her head-"Harry, don't antagonize the mass murder."
"I wasn't thinking clearly."
"I understand."—Alastor said.—"But you weren't alone in that room with him, Weasley was Incapacitated, and Granger was terrified, In situations like that where you are face to face with someone that wants to kill You, you cannot let your emotions take control, or you're going to get killed and you're going to get the people around you killed as well."
"HE KILLED MY MUM AND DAD!" Harry roared, he had forgotten that he was short and skinny and thirteen, he wanted to hurt Black as badly as he could and that he didn't care how much he got hurt in return –
"That's exactly what I meant. You cannot afford to do that."
"Give the boy a break, Mad-eye"—Amelia defended.—"He didn't found about this information calmly, It was thrown at him and he had weeks To feast on the anger, I actually didn't expect any other type of reaction."
Harry's hands fastened over his wasted wrist, forcing the wand tips away; the knuckles of Harry's other hand collided with the side of Black's head and they fell, backward into the wall -the wands in Black's hand sent a jet of sparks into the air that missed Harry's face by inches;
Molly Gasped and the other adult Shook their head in disbelief, It had gotten out of control immediately.
Teenagers in the room turned to look at Harry with new eyes, They knew the boy had a temper but they had never seen this type of reaction on him.
Sirius was whispering Into Harry's ear, while he kept shaking his head.
Andromeda Turned to her cousin.—"What was the spell?"
"We don't remember."
"Didn't even have to be a spell. Maybe it was just magic reacting"
"Which makes it even more dangerous."
punching every part of Black it could find. Black's free hand had found Harry's throat
Remus turned to look at Sirius with shock.—"You choke him. You fucking choke him?"
"I wasn't…."
"In your right mind, We've heard."—Molly accused Sirius opened his eyes to glare at her.—"Don't you dare fucking judge me, Molly because I don't have the patience to deal with your bullshit."
"My… You broke my son's leg."
"And you were idiot enough to not realize that your pet was an Animagus."
Molly opened her mouth to fight back, but she closed it after Arthur pulled her back into her seat.—"We're not doing this again."
"No," he hissed, "I've waited too long -" The fingers tightened, Harry choked, his glasses askew. he saw Hermione's foot swing out of nowhere. Black let go of Harry with a grunt of pain; Ron had thrown himself on Black's wand hand and Harry heard a faint clatter
"That's right, Hermione. Fight back."—Nymphadora encourage, Alastor called out.—"While you're practicing with her. Teach her one-on-one combat Apparently, Granger is more physical than magical."
Fleur shook her head—"Isn't there a way for students to call for help if needed?"
"It's a school. Things like that shouldn't be happening."
"But they are happening. And it will take forever to find someone for help, Even if Hermione had gone looking for someone, It still would have taken time."
Crookshanks had joined the fray; both sets of front claws had sunk
themselves deep into Harry's arm; Harry threw him off, but Crookshanks
now darted toward Harry's wand –
"What the fuck? Now the Cat is involved?"-Percy asked His brother's adventures were turning more ridiculous.
"This is incredibly bizarre."
"These types of things only happen to me."—Harry's muffled voice came from Sirius's chest who wasn't letting go of his godson. He knew this was difficult for him and Honestly, he needed it as well.
Hermione, gasping for breath, her lip bleeding, scrambled aside, snatching up her and Ron's wands. Ron crawled to the four-poster and collapsed onto it, panting, his white face now tinged with green, both hands clutching his broken leg.
Harry was able to push himself away from Sirius's chest and look at his friends.—"Ever since we became friends, you always getting hurt. I'm sorry, Neither of you would be in this type of situation If it weren't for me."
Hermione rolled her eyes.—"And where else would we be?"
Run shook his head.—"Shut up, Harry."
Augusta tutted—"I agree with Miss Delacour, Hogwarts is too big and this passage should have been closed if you weren't going to admit any more werewolves into the school"-She pointed at Dumbledore.
"Going to kill me, Harry?" he whispered.
Amelia pulled her hair, exasperated.—"Why?, Why would you say it like that?"
"I don't deny it," he said very quietly. "But if you knew the whole story."
"You didn't kill them."—Harry said out loud. Sirius turned to look at him with a sad expression.—"No, I'm. Serious. You didn't. But I guess that's another thing we need to talk about."
"This is the moment where you tell Harry to calm down. You all calm down and you start talking."—George said.
"You've clearly never been in a confrontation of this magnitude or in a situation when your emotions take over you, you don't talk. You react. And right now there is adrenaline, revenge, and desperation. Feelings that Should never be mixed together."—Kingsley said.
"You've got to listen to me," Black said, and there was a note of urgency in his voice now. "You'll regret it if you don't... You don't understand..."
Kingsley pointed at the book.—"That's pure desperation. But in the eyes of three children. They don't understand that."
Now was the moment to do it. Now was the moment to avenge his mother and father. He was going to kill Black. He had to kill Black. This was his chance... still Harry stood frozen there, wand poised, Black staring up at him,
The room got incredibly tense. It was Molly that broke the silence.—"You're not a killer, Harry."
The Aurors in the room shook their heads. Amelia spoke.—"Everyone can be a killer, Molly Never think that you Can't Take a life."
Luna turned to Harry. Who was once again in his godfather's arms—"I think you knew."—Harry looked up at her, and she smiled at him.—"Magic Is a very complicated thing. My mom always said that if you did bad things, magic could judge. That's why the Unforgivable is... Unforgivable. I don't think you pause because you couldn't do it. I think you pause because your magic knew, that the person in front of you didn't deserve to die by your hand."
Harris sniffed and gave her a curt nod. Sirius smiled at the girl, he liked her even more now -"It's a nice sentiment, Luna"
Percy cleared his throat.—"How were you planning on killing him?"
"Percy Weasley!"—Arthur called out but Percy shook his head—"I don't mean anything wrong with it But Harry was 13, he doesn't know the Killing Curse."
Snape was looking at Potter with a calculating gaze. Dumbledore always said the boy had the potential to end this war if he put himself to it. He always found Dumbledore's training inadequate. Now he realized that If Potter was trained Properly he could become the capable wizard his mother and father were After all, he couldn't deny the Dark Lord hated them for a reason.
Professor Lupin came hurtling into the room
Remus groaned— "The disaster"
"It wasn't a disaster, like Kingsley said we were all driven by emotions."
"Expelliarmus!" Lupin shouted. Harry's wand flew once more out of his hand
"I don't know if that was a good call or not."
"Bad"—Augusta said.
"Good"—Minerva said.
"Maybe should have grabbed his attention first."
Harry stood there, feeling suddenly empty. He hadn't done it. His nerve
had failed him.
"There is nothing wrong with that Harry"
"This was the right moment to pause and ask questions"
"Where is he, Sirius?"
"Oh Harry let Sirius explain"
Alastorhit the floor with his cane-"Right to the point, grab the rat and change it"
Remus pressed his lips—"Shut up!"
"But then..." Lupin muttered, staring at Black so intently it seemed he was trying to read his mind.
"Ah, you didn't even think about it did you?"—Kingsley said—"You just reacted"
"I saw all of them together and assumed someone was already dead"—Remus said –"I just ran"
"Understandable"
"Is it?"—Snape said—"He almost killed all of them"
"Horrible mistake"—Dumbledore said—"But when one is driven with emotions there is very little time for a clear thought."
Ron's voice out loud looking at Snape.-"As you would know"—
The Professor walked to Black's side and embraced Black like a
brother. Harry felt as though the bottom had dropped out of his stomach.
"Oh Harry I'm sorry I see my mistake now"
Harry shook his head—"I've thought about it…many things could have been handled differently but …I wasn't listing either"
"NO!" Hermione screamed. "Harry, don't trust him, he's been helping
Black get into the castle, he wants you dead too - he's a werewolf!"
Hermione bit her lip ashamed of her outburst—"I'm sorry professor"
"Remus, Hermione and it's alright."—he smiled kindly.
Lupin made toward him, looking concerned, but Ron gasped, "Get away from me, werewolf!"
The Weasley older brother flinched at Rons' tone. Ron himself was red with mortification—"I'm sorry Remus it's…"
"It's what you have been taught"—Remus said sadly—"I wasn't expecting any other reaction, one of the reasons I fired myself"-
Dora hold on to his hand even though he tried to move it away. She realized those words had been said to him multiple times and probably in a harsher tone.
"Ages," Hermione whispered. "Since I did Professor Snape's essay..." "He'll be delighted," said Lupin coolly.
Snape scoffed in disappointment, he should have realized that Granger would be too idiotic to not notice the dangers of what was in the castle.
Sirius turned to look at Snape with disdain, the man couldn't leave it alone.
"Actually I later found out that I wasn't the only one that noticed"—Hermione said to Remus's surprise— "Um, Susan, Pavarti, Hannah, Cedric, Daphne, and a few others also noticed the signs, it was until Professor Snape confirmed it that they realized it was true. "—
The professors looked surprised and Remus didn't know what to say but that gave Sirius a little hope that Remus might be welcomed back.
"You're the cleverest witch of your age I've ever met, Hermione."
Hermione beamed and the teenagers rolled their eyes—"That went to her head."
"no, it didn't"
Fred mocked—"Oh yes it did, you told everyone in the D.A. that Professor Lupin had called you the brightest witch of your age for a reason"
Hermione turned red—"Will he did."
Remus laughed—"And I sustain it"
The teenager groaned at Hermione's satisfied look.
"AND HE WAS WRONG!" Harry yelled. "YOUVE BEEN HELPING HIM ALL THE TIME!"
Harry flinched at his own tone. – "I didn't realize i had been so loud"
"You have too many emotions."
"that's not necessarily a bad thing mad-eye."
He separated Harry's, Ron's and Hermione's wands and threw each back to
its owner; Harry caught his, stunned.
Arthur approved—"Yes, there we go, good call to earn their trust"
Hagrid said—"The priority should have been to calm Harry down."
said Lupin. "The Marauder's Map.
Amelia nodded—"You took the charm off"
"I did, the moment Harry gave me the map. I thought I could intercept Sirius if he tried to walk in, after weeks of silence I wasn't expecting to see Peter and Sirius together."
"You didn't consider getting them before they left the castle"—Minerva asked and Remus shrugged—"Dumbledore was going to be nearby, and I had seen Fudge I didn't though they would be in any danger."
"Boy were you wrong"—Charlie said
I watched you cross the grounds and enter Hagrid's hut. Twenty minutes later, you left Hagrid, and set off back toward the castle. But you were now
accompanied by somebody else."
"For heaven's sake, Remus is not the moment to tell a story"—Ted said annoyed.
"He isn't telling it to them"—Felur said— "He's trying to make sense of it himself."
"Everyone was confused as hell."
"What's the point, Harry isn't listening"—Neville said.
"Do you think I could have a look at the rat?" he said evenly.
Ron let his body fall to his knees, why had he fought so much over the rat?
"Give him the rat Ron."
"You only have to give it, ask him why he wants it."
"Let him be, he was thirteen and scared."
"An Animagus," said Black, "by the name of Peter Pettigrew."
"There it is."—Andromeda said— "Maybe should have started with that."
Dumbledore said— "Well that should be it, we can finish tomorrow."
George shook his head— "In that cliffhanger?"
"It's not really a novel George"—Ginny reprimanded him— "We know what happened."
"Do we?"—Neville said.
"Yeah, they get it out, Remus tries to eat them, Harry and Sirius almost get their soul sucked and Harry from the future/past saves himself"—Ginny said quickly stretching.
"Oh, wow that's not a novel."
"It's not". —Harry said annoyed
Professor McGonagall stood up— "Those who meditate with me, we will do it after Dinner."
"Same with me"—Alastor stood up.
Hello Hello, I hope you like it, I don't know why POA is turning into a really long book for me but I'm not going to rash it, I believe the next following chapters will be characters talking to each other, it will give us a break of all the drama and a few plans will come into action.
Please Review and remember I do this for fun.
