Pyrrha shivered before she looked down at the water and she questioned what to do next before she sighed to herself. Leo continued to dip her into the water gently which always made yips from the woman as she questioned what to have to focus upon.
"Are you going to be, ok?" Leo asked before laughing.
"Your… Evil." Pyrrha stated as Leo only seemed to try and laugh for now before he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
Pyrrha was unable to get off his shoulders as that meant collapsing into the water before she sighed to herself. It was a horrid little issue and yet she could tell Leo was honestly just messing with each problem as of now as she looked around before now.
Pyrrha was a lot more of an odd little odd problem for now. it was clear for now this was all just a game. This all seemed to be fun upon now as he clicked his tongue against the roof of her mouth. This? Combined with the fact she had fun simply messing around with such problems and it was clear she was also enjoying herself despite her quirks and issues with herself and all the things around her. It was worth more and more of an interesting game for them and despite herself? Well, she was willing to stick out of the game simply because it was too much fun for now.
"Just messing with you, Pyrrha," Leo said as Pyrrha frowned inwardly, utterly thrown off as to now. "Sides, if you said the word. I'd let you down easily without a second thought. It isn't as fun, though." Leo said before he rolled his eyes.
Pyrrha simply gripped his shoulders, her nails almost digging in enough to draw blood. She locked her feet into place on his shoulders as Leo hummed, noticing this at the day's end… So instead? He decided to try and troll her again as if she forgot simply what was going on.
Pyrrha only had time to yelp as Leo gripped her feet by the heels and leaned forwards, locking his legs under him as he went. Pyrrha felt her stomach again hit the ice-cold ocean water as she abandoned her grip on his shoulders while she was forced to shoot up her arms to protect her bare skin from Leo's trick. It washed over her as if it was a vat of pure light. Her aura still offered no real protection from it as said water was no real threat to her physically. Leo who had still managed to rest his head above water as he rested on his legs simply gave a smirk she could not see as she yelped for mercy, simply at the mercy of the ocean.
"LEO!" Pyrrha yelled between yelps and pleas as Leo simply continued to grip her legs, leaving the spartan woman at the odd mercy of the ocean.
Perhaps it was still simply a small little prank for the time being and it became clear more and more what would be said and done. It was all too much and all too soon, all too familiar with what needed to be said and done, far it seemed to be more and more capable of now. Perhaps it needed to end and could end sometime soon.
Leo looked around and then finally allowed her to think despite it being something amusing. Pyrrha looked at him, crossing her limbs as she tried to maintain control and not stumble and collapse. Leo laughed inwards as he meant no amount of disrespect, for now, Pyrrha did not deserve to be insulted now, and yet? There was more and more to their little game than let on.
Pyrrha seemed to sigh, more unamused by his antics than bothered as she adjusted herself for now.
"What's going to happen? You need to be able to decide more and more." Pyrrha stated before she finally decided it was damn well worth it.
There was all too much for now. Pyrrha seemed to be more and more capable of such honor and yet in a flash, it was gone and tossed into the water before him. Yes, Leo was aware she and different for now.
It was clear more and more problems existed and were far more and more interesting. Leo was so engrossed in thought he did not even notice Pyrrha stand up, planting her feet on his shoulders so she could use them as a launch board.
He did notice for only a second long enough to move JUST enough and felt herself lose balance and collapse into the cold ocean as Leo glanced at the spot where the woman was for now.
"So damn weird, Pyr. You don't make sense with all this magic crap." Leo stated for the brief moments she was entirely underwater.
It was worth knowing what it was going to be like, without it all coming to an end… If anything? Leo was entirely thrown off by Pyrrha who was capable of more and more still needed.
Leo was all focused more to question before now, it came down to who was better and who was capable of combat, unlike the others. Pyrrha was all too amusing, and he would be remiss in saying he wanted it to end or for her to be mad at him. Leo was not someone who took pleasure in the suffering of others if it could be helped, and it clearly could be.
Pyrrha looked at Leo who slowly sat down on a rock and looked at her while looking around the beach, interested in what would come next.
"Are you going to be, ok?" Leo asked with a frown on his face. "I'm sorry, it's the first bit of fun I've had in a while, I don't at all understand what's going on or such." Leo sighed before he questioned before now.
"Are you going to be, ok?" Leo questioned before he raised his eyes.
"I've been better… Are you ok for now?" Pyrrha asked as Leo nodded, interested more and more in what to do next.
"I'm fine. Sorry, that was a bit… Fun, and I simply enjoyed messing with you." Leo said as Pyrrha stated before frowning to himself.
"Are you going to be, ok? Because I'll admit… it was fun, I'm not used to swimming as of now." Pyrrha stated before questioning now, interested.
"Yes, sorry still, didn't mean to rile you up, just mess with you a bit and try and see if swimming was fine," Leo said before frowning. "Well, that and enjoy time off for all the damn good it will do before we're supposed to go on a mission, all of it comes down to orders and regulations and nothing else," Leo said, muttering the last part under his breath for now.
All of today was fun and Leo would not deny it, messing with Pyrrha who still felt her legs tightly wrapped around his torso and her hands still clasped around his neck. He supposed he'd he remises in trying to see it all come to an end before now as he glanced around, all too eager to see it end today and end anytime soon.
Tomorrow brought action and the return of being a Spartan and Leo welcomed the return to Mjolnir and combat with the enemy which would be a problem and would always continue to be one… Yet? Leo did not discount the idea of returning to this place for now.
Leo only found it more and more interesting now before it clicked his tongue, only curious if it could be end ended before it consumed every single thing within its field of influence and virtue. That bothered him to a degree and would continue to for no end.
Covenant soldiers were not the type to simply surrender and it was clear more and more if problems were to occur. More damage to Remnant and surrounding planets would come, nukes obviously wouldn't be left out of the question…
It would continue to be that way as long as Covenant soldiers survived on Remnant as command was WELL aware of their proper threat due to the war and yet? None of them seemed to want to admit it might be more that way, again… Still? it'd need to end sometime soon, always and always…
"You're scared, aren't you?" Pyrrha asked before raising an eyebrow at her frown before raising an eyebrow.
"I don't know to be honest. I've got a lot more problems and yet? All of it seems like it's going to be falling apart. UNSC is going to win the war, then more and more rebels are going to come and we're going to clamp down upon them." Leo stated before crossing his arms.
It was a lot more questioning problem. All of it seemed to be more and more of an issue, for now, questioning upon now if Leo could end now and yet. Well, Leo was a lot more interested.
"Are you going to be, ok? Fighting more and more covenant soldiers as of now. We're not going to win soon; I don't even understand for the war to try and get off the ground." Leo stated before Pyrrha kicked her feet back and forth.
Leo let Pyrrha have fun before it ended for now. Pyrrha would only become a friend if she could pass the idea of trying to get off the ground. Pyrrha almost tossed her body into the water, fascinated as to what soldiers like Leo were to be.
"We should get going sometime soon. I don't even understand what to do next." Leo stated before crossing his arms at Pyrrha, amused.
"Maybe, but I want to try and wait for now before now while before," Pyrrha stated before smirking as she looked around the shore, interested only in all that could be done.
Still? All moves needed to come with a purpose, Leo was aware an award for it all would end sometime soon. It would end sometime soon, it all needed to end… Leo and Pyrrha knew it for now.
She looked so torn down, so beaten down for now… It needs to end sometime soon. It needed to end; it would end sometime soon, only become more amusing… Yes, if Leo was honest. It'd all end with a perfect purpose. Life wasn't fair, it shouldn't be, not without certain side effects, not without being pushed to the edge.
It all became more and more terrifying, more antiquated for now. It'd be a very different beast, all too easily… And it could be properly dealt with.
"You going to be, ok?" Leo questioned again, starting to tire for now of such a query.
Yes, it'd need only remain for now, only seem to end as of now, end more and more fascinated, curious… All of it seemed to be moving in a direction not even Leo could see it be…
"Yes, just a bit tired, I'd like to stay out here for only a few more minutes, maybe an hour. It's all going to be dust in wind for now and I'd rather enjoy the few hours before I sleep… Before I need to go to sleep." Pyrrha stated before frowning to herself.
"Ok, we need to make the most of it all. Ain't going to be something we could repeat more and more." Leo stated before frowning.
She kicked her feet on his shoulders and seemed almost to be amused, waiting for a sign of something to come, something to tell her she could leave… Yet? noting came, nothing would come and it was clear more and more would end.
Leo only rolled his eyes, amused more than ten times, far more than it… Still only looked to the side before looking upwards as if the stars alone seemed to be more and more amusing for now.
Well, it'd be all said and done before now and looked upwards and looked up into the sky before crossing his arms and looked upwards before now. Leo smirked as if he considered the oddity of it all, all of these ideas only served to make his mind more and more on edge and it seemed more and more as if the enjoyment on his mind was worth more than anything. It wasn't at all as if it was as annoying as before long… Yes, it did appear as if the enjoyment was well worth the teasing and amusement that came from it. The covenant could wait, he wanted to at least enjoy this for now.
Leo only stopped to poke Pyrrha in the leg as she squirmed, rolling her eyes and almost kicking him in the head, Leo simply rolled his eyes, amused more than once and not at all in a mood to say or do much.
"You know… It's rather enlightening and calming to be here. Remnant is a very calming planet and honestly? I don't think I'll be able to relax so easily without a place like this. Sometimes I don't even know I can do something like that." Pyrrha heard from Leo before sighing. "We're going back to the Infinity soon, though. I need a good bed and this place might be fun but I'm coming back to it soon." Leo said as Pyrrha sighed and rolled her eyes, unable to say much if at all.
It'd be a long day if she did speak up to be fair. Pyrrha knew tonight would end too soon and she was unable to relax, allowing it all to come crashing down sooner or later. All such ideas could wait and along with them? Any real problems as of now, it would not hurt to try and get somewhere with it all.
Still? it would not at all hurt to try and become better friends and she was eager to make more friends amongst the Infinity, cruel as it became more and more clear the war was going to need allies on both sides… Allies they could allow and allow for a better idea as of now… One where they did not get to suffer and all of their enemies would be defeated painlessly.
Pyrrha did not at all believe such a future was possible. Not just because it was going to be odd to try and fix it but the fact very little of her life seemed to be working for the better.
Leo simply walked to a deeper outcropping in the middle of crashing waves which slowly began to retreat, making him more and more amused for now as Pyrrha simply allowed him to have his way and slowly swim towards it. She knew Leo wasn't going to do something horrible for now as of the time being, it'd become an odd little nightmare for them and something they'd laugh at the of the day and it was a nice little thing to imagine for the second.
Leo gripped the stone and clicked his fingers against it before slowly starting to climb up, letting Pyrrha blink as the Spartan hauled himself up as if Pyrrha weighed nothing. Pyrrha was honestly very impressed at the moment by how strong the Spartan was as he swung himself and her to the top of the rock structure.
Pyrrha said nothing as Leo took a seat at the edge of the giant boulder, looking at Pyrrha with a raised eyebrow and slowly climbed down from him, sitting next to Leo as he clicked to the side with his tongue, all too amused and tired for now as to how it might go.
"Sorry, I didn't know if I was going to be able to get up… You seemed cold after I kept going into the ocean. I was a bit annoyed I kept messing with you." Pyrrha said before Pyrrha looked to the side and sighing to himself before yawning to himself.
"It's fine. I didn't want to argue with it for now. I don't know what to tell you but I was amused feeling how cold it was." Pyrrha stated before looking out over the ocean and smirking. "I almost wish you fell into the ocean as well. You were very cold to me and you should know that… So very cold, Mr. Cerule." Pyrrha stated before smirking more, her teeth exposed by the smile for the time being.
It was a very amusing little thing for now as Leo yawned, leaning back on the stone, staring up and into the stars above, interested in them for now.
"You know, there are not many stories about the stars above us. I don't even know what to understand at the moment." Pyrrha said before looking to the side, interested more and more at the time being.
It did not at all seem to be something that Leo was used to and he shook his head, clicking his jaw at her as she rolled her eyes and smirked, eager to understand it for all, curious as to how it might have been if he didn't know her for the time being. Such questions bothered him more and more since he had gotten here and it would have been something that could have been done and dusted. They needed to relax, needed to bring it all down to the ground burning in a husk.
Leo looked at Pyrrha who pulled her long legs to her chest, trying to shake off the cold and the freezing and biting at her.
She was all too ready to try and focus on such issues at the time. Leo could only roll his eyes, tired at the moment when it came down to it.
Leo only smirked and looked at her before she kicked him in the side, making him roll his eyes as he realized she was messing with him.
(Currently)
Leo stabbed an Elite Warrior before tossing its corpse into the ground. The cruiser in the sky seemed to mock them, dare them with defiance as a small dot of fire upon it looked downwards at them. Yes, it was clear so many times this was to be said and done. Pyrrha and he were more than capable of fighting off so many soldiers and yet they were not the main target.
Leo turned his attention toward the cruiser as an explosion near the top of the plain caused their attention to shift toward it.
The cruiser, light or not was bombing the area and it was clear if anything more and more work would need to be done and said and done, banshees and other sorts of craft as they started to attack the other across the cruiser.
Yet? Pyrrha watched UNSC aircraft and the cruiser's escorts doing battle as Leo was almost stabbed by an elite only to stab it in the head. Pyrrha seemed to question, for now, eager to see it end more and focus on now.
"We need to get going before now. I don't understand what will be said and done. I don't understand what to do next." Leo stated before cracking before it came down to it.
Pyrrha only glanced at Leo as she appeared to find it odder and odder. More Atlesian aircraft slowly started to fly overhead for now it ended more and more unsure for now more and more, focused only upon issues needing to end and could be ended.
Still? It was a lot more to question and a lot more to try and do… Yes, it needed more and more of a push to try and end. All of it would need to end sometime soon, yet? It seemed as if it'd need to be dealt with personally to ensure it was all properly done.
"We need to get moving or else their going to own the entire area… More soldiers are just going to take up more and more defensive positions in front of us… Mines are probably going to be crawling with more and more soldiers." Leo stated, frowning for a few seconds, only amused, only curious sounding.
Leo watched as several F-41 Broadswords flew overhead and hummed, curious over how much airpower the Covenant would command in this location.
"Their running? Covenant doesn't run…. Different." Jorge said, noticing several Phantoms evacuating troops not too busy engaging Noble.
"Because new covenant is terrorists. It comes with losing more of their army and bases. I don't even know in it can be fixed… Not for them at least… More and more Covenant ahead and none of us are going to be able to relax." Leo stated before yawning to himself and looking to the side, only pausing to try and deal with it.
Leo did not even begin to fathom what Jul wanted here. The terrorist elite was odd but not stupid, every little attack was calculated and it was not something the Sangheili openly did without a good reason. If anything? The Covenant would need to be engaged more thoroughly.
Still? Leo was not a military commander and all problems that would come with it at the time were beyond his control. It wasn't going to be something he could discuss with Captain Lasky. Lasky would need to deal with the Covenant fleet and he'd need to find better allies.
Oh, did it hurt to be a simple spartan, for now, one who was at the mercy of all real soldiers beyond his command and control… It was just too odd for them to consider as of the time being and most knew it as well as anything that whatever this was going to be.
It'd be a nightmare to try and deal with at the time. There were a few seconds of silence as the Spartan and his friends slowly started to look upward, interested in what was coming and what would be soon enough. They had a lot more to try and focus on and so much was beginning to fall into place at the moment.
There was a lot more to try and unravel here, so much more to try and concern themselves with.
It didn't mean much but it was far more than enough to try and stop them. Leo frowned as he realized his friends might die to try and save them. It was so hard to try and understand at the end but he did so as he always did, there would always be another conflict at the time.
They had a lot more to try and focus on at the second. There was a lot more to try and understand. It'd be a nice little nightmare, something that could end it properly… Even such measures like this would not stop them.
"Unless we're planning to let them glass the entire area? We need to get going." Leo stated before he rested his weapon on his shoulders and smirked to himself and yawned at the moment being.
There was a lot more to try and do now before all was over. So much more as of now to try and handle. Leo was tried, utterly amused at the second, and yet it was just tiresome to him.
Leo started to jog that way, utterly annoyed and utterly unwilling to try and handle it a certain way.
(Yesterday)
"I'm throwing you in the ocean next time you do that," Pyrrha stated before he shrugged and looked to the side with amusement.
"And I'll throw us both into the ocean because it's fun and more and more exciting to try and do. You know that, right? I do it partly because it's fun, Pyr…" Leo said as he slowly crossed his legs under him, drained a bit from it all at the moment.
Pyrrha could only seem to be more and more relaxed at the moment before now and she looked around before some sort of problems when it came down to it now. She didn't at all know what to try at the moment.
Leo felt silence was horrid for them, he didn't at all want to focus upon it now when it came down to it. He and Pyrrha were different breeds of people. They were soldiers who had slowly been bred at the moment, tired more and more of war but slowly charging forwards into battle if it helped more and more people. They had a lot more to try and relax when it came down to it.
Yet? He and Pyrrha were soldiers and soldiers like them didn't get to relax, they were to fight and constantly attack the enemy, stopping them from killing others. She didn't at all know what they'd do at the time.
"Are you going to be ok if I do have to go? I'm honestly growing fond of Remnant. If it was up to me? I'd settle here and make Remnant a UNSC colony. People might like it here if we took care of the giant monsters that try to kill people, already have enough of those to go around back home." Leo said as he picked up a rock.
"And yet you don't want to try and think about it without orders… Your commanders won't even let you have shore leave?" Pyrrha asked as she hung her legs under the edge, raping her knuckles upon the stone in front of her.
"I don't know, it's been a while since I've been able to relax as you think. War was spent in tactical rooms, busy trying to contain Covenant to a home system. I was far too busy keeping people from dying to stop and think." Leo stated as he tossed the rock.
It spun like a coin and flew across the water over and over rotating like a disk as it was weightless. Pyrrha watched it impact at least a few hundred feet away, crashing into the water like a meteor.
"War hasn't consumed you, you know," Pyrrha said as Leo shrugged. "You're a good soldier… Even if you want to dunk me into the ocean, it will be good payback sooner or later if I throw you in." Pyrrha said as Leo simply held up his arms.
"It was fun, I'll not deny it at all… Fun, you can't deny that." Pyrrha said to which Leo was silent, utterly amuse but not willing to argue at the time.
It wasn't at all a lie and he was well aware of it on the second day… They had a lot more to try and focus on besides issues as small as these.
Still? All of it seemed to be a small drop in the pond when it came down to it. There was just more and more at the moment and it became odder and odder to him.
He didn't at all know what to try and do before it came down to it and there was more to discuss as of now. It was just weird to him at the second and he was tired more and more.
"How long have you been planning this day off?" Leo asked as he looked at Pyrrha and slowly started to smirk. "You honestly seem to be surprising me over and over when it came to shove," Leo stated before he slowly started to look downwards at his legs.
"Maybe, but the person whom I wanted to come here with doesn't seem to want me to hang out as of now," Pyrrha stated before she clicked her fingers together before she kicked her legs upwards and into the air before yawning to herself.
"Ah, so this was a vacation you've wanted since you've gotten here. It's nice but I don't think a lot of people would have expected you to do something like this." Leo stated before smirking as she almost slugged him in the side playfully.
He only felt more and more amused at the end of the day. this was just more and more terrible at the moment. This just made him tired, utterly unsure of himself, and worn down by everything wrong with him. it made him amused if only just and only willing to relax properly.
"You're a very fascinating warrior at the moment," Pyrrha stated before she looked downwards at the ground.
"I'm just a soldier, Pyrrha, I'm always going to be good at shooting and stabbing and fighting. I am not at all good at things besides that." Pyrrha heard Leo as he slowly started to look upwards and into the sky.
"You're a soldier, there's no doubt about that, but you are still a part of yourself. You aren't just a soldier, Leo." Pyrrha said before she leaned back and looked upwards and into the stars once more.
"I feel like it at times. The people look at me differently, I always struggle with what to say around people who haven't fought these wars, I constantly deal with the fact that I've been raised differently, Pyr." Leo stated before he yawned to himself and slowly started to look upwards.
"You are just saying that you know. You don't mean that, do you?" Pyrrha asked as she leaned on Leo's side.
"Maybe, but I know things aren't the same as they could be. You should know that you are just as much a soldier as me, and part of me thinks you don't like being seen as some giant deal." Leo stated before he started to yawn.
"A lot of people see me as the champion of Mistral. The most undefeatable warrior in Remnant, someone who can't fail." Pyrrha said as she sighed and almost leaned away from him.
"We all fail, even spartan. Nobody's perfect and all of it is damn stupid to think anyone is perfect." Leo said before he crossed his arms.
"I don't see you as some perfect soldier. I'm saying your good at fighting and you should take pride in that, you save a lot of innocent people being like that and the fact you do it not knowing what comes next is just terrifying, you know that?" Leo asked before she smiled at him.
"I'm glad you agree. This is nice, I'm starting to think that this was a lot nicer when you can relax." Pyrrha said as Leo hummed.
"Still think it was funnier before," Leo stated before he fell silent and amused at the same time.
"Very funny dunking me into the ocean, Leo. It was so amusing…" Pyrrha joked as Leo rolled his eyes.
"I'm not the one who wants to play water games against the Spartan who has been trained to be in the water all the time., Leo stated before he sighed and looked at the stairs as well.
"Maybe, but I don't regret messing with you. I've gotten to relax a lot more times before now." Leo stated before he slowly started to yawn and looked upwards and into the sky.
"Are you going to be able to fight tomorrow? There's a lot of fighting to do tomorrow, are you?" Pyrrha stated before she looked upwards and into the sky.
"I just told you I can fight all the time and I won't be bad at fighting at the end of the day," Leo said before he sighed and looked down at the ground, utterly exhausted as he did so. "Why do you assume it? Because we have a lot more to try and do tomorrow? There's a lot more to deal with before now. I don't want to try and figure it out… Is there? We don't even know what's going to be deployed." Leo said before he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
They had a lot more to try and figure out at the moment. He had such on his mind that he almost wanted to laugh, cracking his fingers before he yawned and slowly started to fall tired, amused more and more. Pyrrha almost kicked him in the shin as he hummed before he seemed bored and bored for what to try and understand at the moment as he seemed to understand next.
They had a lot more to deal with before now. They had a lot more on their minds and all such understandable things slowly rolled across his mind as he clicked his fingers on the stone before now.
"Are you going to be, ok?" Pyrrha asked before she hummed and slowly started to be utterly tired more and more.
She knew more and more that Leo seemed to be all too relaxed and she knew that he was not at all tired before now. she didn't at all know what to try and do next.
"Yes, you've asked that a few times, you know," Leo said before he hummed. "I'm going back in a few minutes," Leo said as he rubbed at his temples.
"Then I'll come with you," Pyrrha said as Leo was about to answer and simply said nothing.
He was worn down by such moments, he clicked his fingers as he seemed to be worn down by it all, making her tap on her feet as she rubbed at her temples. She was all too much and nothing much would change it as the moment, they had a lot more to see and do before the night ended.
She yawned, leaning back against the wall as she seemed utterly baffled by everything. It was horrid at the end of the day and whatever came next would be harder and harder to focus upon now and it would get somewhere sometime soon.
Whatever came next would be more and more harrowing and she knew it to be true, whatever it was. It wouldn't last anytime soon; they had such delights to focus on anyway soon.
Pyrrha looked up and into the sky, all too fascinated as to what it was and what was coming. The war with the Covenant took up one corner of her mind but another part was fully dominated by the fact that she had a new friend.
He understood or tried to on a level she wanted Jaune to. It was clear that they had some sort of bond on emotional levels at least once.
It was so odd, so fascinated by all such measures and all such things that it honestly boggled her mind. She didn't at all know what to say about it all at the end of the day nor did she think she could figure it out anytime soon.
They had something else on their minds and it was utterly baffling to her.
She placed her hands on her knees, crossing her legs under her as she began to stargaze. Leo could only watch the Spartan girl with amusement as he rolled his eyes, eager to get back to Infinity but also no rush to get out of there as well.
The Spartan was confused by it all. He didn't at all understand how he felt, Leo knew part of it was because he was happy around Pyrrha, she knew something about him that few others did.
However? They were still two different people. He was a soldier, a weapon of war, and someone who was raised to combat anything and everything that could cause danger to the UNSC and everything around them.
She was a woman who was kind despite being a warrior and had a code of honor, something that he had managed to retain and would continue to have at the end of the day. Spartans like him weren't bred to have a sense of honor, it got in the way of being a living weapon that chewed through any problems like a wasp chewed paper.
Still, he supposed he didn't mind it. Their indecision and differences just made them bigger friends at the end of the day, they were both soldiers and both warriors with different ideas on how best to help others. It was clear more and more that whatever made them this way still made them different enough.
They were both warriors, far better than they had the right to be, and yet they still wound up on this path more and more.
Leo watched Pyrrha lean back, cracking her fingers and placing her hands on the ground before she cracked her fingers and looked down at the ground, standing up and into the sky.
She did a handstand which made him laugh more and more at the moment and she knew more and more that their paths would unaligned sooner or later.
"I almost want to shove you off that handstand and into the ocean just on the off chance it's more amusing than that… No offense, it's just you look so amusing when it comes down to it." Leo said as Pyrrha rolled her eyes.
"Yes, and I should consider dunking you in the ocean as of the time," Pyrrha said before she looked down at the ground.
"Hey, I fully stand by the fact it was all in good fun. Nothing bad comes from it and it's really hard to argue with the results of it all when it comes down to it." Leo said before he sighed to himself as he hummed.
There were a few seconds of silence, all of it was amusing to them as both of them seemed to be able to relax. Something far beyond what to try and do next.
The two shared a look, the moonlight glistening over their bodies as they smiled before they looked back up and into the ocean once more, cracking his smile at her.
She yawned and then leaned back, resting her hands on her knees before she ran her hands off her legs and feet before she cracked her fingers once more. She was too amused by Leo as he cracked his fingers.
"You, ok? I'm not used to relaxing like this when it comes down to it. I don't know what to say and do next at the moment. This is weird, you know." Leo said as Pyrrha shrugged.
"Maybe it's just something that you need to get used to," Pyrrha said to which Leo could only amuse himself by poking her in the stomach before he was kicked in the side for a moment.
"Maybe I don't know what I'm going to do, Pyr. It's not exactly the easiest thing to deal with," Pyrrha said before she looked down at the ground.
There was something else on his mind and he could tell it was bugging him at the moment, it was a lot nicer to deal with than possible as he looked down at the ground as of now.
Things were so simpler on a battlefield than here. He didn't have to worry about where his thoughts might or may not go as a result of the war that surged around them. He didn't have to complicate matters with morality and the annoyance of war when it came to it, all such measures designed to train Spartans usually ensured they had little in the way of relaxing. It was far too much for now.
"How do you deal with not being busy every single second? I'm not certain of what to say or do at the moment, usually me and, the other Spartans get to relax off duty but we do know what's going to happen anytime soon. All of this just seems superficial at the end of the day and it's kind of bugging me." Leo said as Pyrrha hummed once more, unsure of what to say or even do as of now.
Pyrrha said nothing, simply dangling her feet over the edge as she did so. She yawned once more as she felt unaware and unsure of herself more and more as he looked around with visible annoyance. He didn't at all understand her language when it came down to it. There were a few more words he could say but he stayed his language, only knowing it'd be something he wished to speak.
If anything? He was quiet, not just because he couldn't speak but because he knew it would ruin the moment. The Spartan was very awkward when it came to words, but he was not stupid in ruining a moment that could and would end up being more than before. His desires were to be dashed apart at the moment, and it wasn't something that he could relax upon knowing at the moment as it was amusing that he was able to relax as he knew it.
He knew more and more unsure and uncertain of what was coming as she cracked her fingers and looked down at the waves, yawning with amusement as she wiggled her fingers in the air.
"You are not used to vacation at the moment, are you? You aren't acting like you've' relaxed at the moment." Pyrrha said as Leo hummed and looked down at the ground with such measure of amusement as he did so.
He seemed to be able to understand what to do next as he yawned to himself, unsure of himself as he rubbed at his eyes, all of his measures as he looked downwards at the ground.
He didn't trust himself, at all when push came to shove, not just because it was insane about it, but because he could only scream into the void. He didn't, but the idea of it all was overwhelming even him and he could tell… All of it spoke of something monstrous, nightmarish even.
"You know what I wonder? How often you've been without a vacation."
(Present Day)
Leo and Pyrrha along with Noble Team continued forwards, utterly eager to engage the rest of the Covenant on the ground at the moment. There were a lot more soldiers on the ground as the UNSC and Atlesian forces moved up.
The air was thick with roars as Atlesian Mantas and Covenant Banshees faced off with one another. It was clear there would be a brawl over the air as the waves and waves of Covenant soldiers slowly started to surge forwards.
"This mission is going to be worse if we don't get a move on." Pyrrha heard from Leo before she looked upwards into the sky.
"Spartans? You need to secure the dig site; covenant air assets will be dispatched as needed. We're sending reinforcements to try and back you up." Leo heard before he looked at Pyrrha.
"Ok… We're going to need to fight our way through the waves of Covenant infantry." Leo stated before he sighed and looked down at the ground, utterly exhausted.
"Then we're cut through them slowly," Pyrrha said as Leo hummed and he looked upwards and into the sky.
"There's a bit too many for a straight-up assault, Pyrrha. We're going to get behind them and attack them from there." Leo stated before he sighed to himself.
"How? There's a small army of them all behind us. The more we take out? The more that ship sends down." Pyrrha said as Leo hummed.
"We're figuring something out, Pyrrha… We need to clear a path to the cruiser… It's the only way we're going to find out what they're after and what they're doing next." Leo said before he clicked his fingers against one another.
They had a lot more to fight through. They had way too much and he knew more and more of what a monstrous army the Covenant had. He had so much to figure out at the moment as he cracked his fingers before now and he tapped on his SAW as he prepared for another fight.
"Whatever they do? They are going to split their forces up to try and attack us from different angles. Do we need to try and cut through them on the air and the ground at the same time to try and confuse them, after that? We've beaten them and won." Leo said as Pyrrha nodded, looking down at the ground as she did so.
She knew he was correct but it scared her to think about it now, but they had a lot more to do before they won.
The two vaulted the stone, plasma fire raking their position as they went, Pyrrha raised Akouo, plasma fire raking over her shield as she did so.
Leo flipped off the slope, tucking and rolling while bringing up his SAW and peppering a pair of grunts with tracers. He turned, watching their bodies collapse as Pyrrha tossed the shield at a jackal who attempted to block it with their shield.
Akouo flew past them and hit a rock before nailing the alien in the back and snapping its spine like a candy bar. The two surged forwards as more and more Covenant soldiers went to engage only to be thrown off by a Manta which strafed them.
Leo would thank General Ironwood when they were done. His men clearly understood what needed to be done and were in the process of dealing with it personally. He slammed into an elite warrior, burying his knife into their throat and tossing them down and to the ground.
He rolled and opened fire on another elite, flaying it as well before the sound of alien war cries made him turn to address a zealot. He barely managed to avoid being skewered with the blade of an energy sword.
"Ugh… Damn them." Leo said as he rolled backward and faced the Zealot.
There were sounds of gunfire and energy blasts. He watched a warthog roar over the ridge followed by a squad of Atlesian soldiers and a Pelican. He turned to stop the Zealot only for Milo to slam through its back, ending its life as Pyrrha pulled it from them.
"They're a lot less dangerous when they're distracted," Pyrrha said as Leo shrugged.
"Not really," Leo said before he hummed. "Thanks, anyway… We need to clear out the rest of them around the cruiser. Once the rest of the infantry is gone? We can…" Leo went to say before the sky opened up.
There were a dozen blasts of energy, all striking different areas. 2 of them hit the wings of Atlesian Mantas, melting them and sending the damaged aircraft crashing down. Leo turned in time to see the cruiser had fired on them.
"Damn it! Command? We're getting bombarded by the enemy warship, requesting air support. That thing is going to dice us into pieces." Pyrrha heard as Leo slid into cover.
"Continue to engage covenant forces, Sierra. We're dealing with it now." Leo heard as he sighed before he seemed to be all too unsure and uncertain of what to try and figure out when it came down to it.
Leo sighed before the remaining 30 or so covenant soldiers rallied on the hill above him as he forced back behind cover. He cursed himself but knew there was nothing he could do at the moment. If the navy was going to deal with the ship above them? Then he'd deal with the infantry that he could deal with it.
"Damn it, they owe us," Leo muttered before he shook his head before he dropped his magazine to the ground. "That cruiser is going to burn us to ash before we manage to get through them," Leo said before more and more gunfire started to open fire.
"All we can do is deal with the soldiers on the ground, Leo. I'll deal with the marksman." Leo stated before she looked at Leo before she flipped over cover and seemed to vault over the cover.
She didn't at all know what to say next before she surged forwards into the battle, raising her shield to let plasma fire come over it. She looked at Leo who was about to engage the rest of the Covenant.
Leo was all too ready to fight but it was clear they weren't at all fighting the pair. They were engaging Noble Team who was charging them along with the rest of the Atlesian and UNSC forces.
"Huh…" Leo said only before looking up to see the cruiser was already retreating, lifting higher and higher into the sky, all while leaving the rest of its troops to bear the brunt of battle even though all of them were all too eager to die.
He cursed as he knew that they probably had whatever they had was what they had wanted here. He didn't notice that another cruiser was leaving as the one had focused upon was hit with a MAC round.
The cruiser crumpled like a tin can, slowly starting to fall downwards, its tip bent like a metallic staff and freefalling down from the ground, utterly devastated to which he could only think of what to say or do at the moment. There were far too many details at the time for him to say anything.
The remaining Covenant soldiers died not to the Spartan woman and Supersoldier but to Noble Team who shredded the remaining elites and jackals like Swiss cheese. It reminded him that these soldiers were fanatics and terrorists more than anything.
The remaining aircraft retreated as Leo turned and finished off the last elite with a burst to their head, entirely silent as the Supersoldier fell silent, unsure of what to try and fixate on once more.
He watched as the ship slowly started to fall downwards and onto the ground, exploding in a massive fireball that rocked the land upon which they walked.
He didn't at all know what to even say next as he looked around with something that he couldn't for the life of him that the Covenant had wanted her or a behavior close to it.
If they wanted something so badly? They'd have acted for it; they'd have fought on the frontlines more. He didn't at all know what to expect and he didn't at all know it.
"Captain Lasky? Covenant forces retreating from the area, the majority aren't putting up much of a fight, and one cruiser is down, permission to pursue the remaining cruiser?" Leo heard as he slowly lowered his rifle, showing that he was done.
"Negative, Hardball. Secure the area. Atlesian radar shows several signatures, all covenant. Sierra? Tell me what you see in the crater and collect it." They heard from Lasky.
"Roger, Infinity. Moving to intercept." Leo said as he slid down the slope. "Commander? You have my thanks, guess killing Covies is still in your blood just like… Holy crap, sir? Can you link to my helmet HUD? There's something down here and it's big." Leo said before he blinked, utterly baffled.
The other Spartans also looked down and noticed metal in the crater, some of which seemed to be missing, telling them what the Covenant had taken and what they had wanted. Leo blinked as the Spartan swept his rifle over the rim of the area, interested in it.
Had the Covenant wanted something here? And if so? What had they taken? Remnant was less advanced than their universe but it was all too clear that if nothing else? They had been fuller of surprises than they were used to.
It was a lot to take in and more than he dared deal with at the moment. He looked in the crater all the same, unsure and uncertain of everything he had ever thought or would think of… Every single little thing on his mind bothered him as he looked around, wondering if the others had seen it as well.
There was more noise as a pair of Atlesian Mantas flew overhead, shining their spotlights on it as a Pelican slowly descended, preparing for a proper excavation. It was clear to them all that something big had been in the crater and he couldn't at all ignore it for now, not when there was more to it.
"Spartans? Secure the area… Await new orders, I'll contact Captain Lasky." He heard before he shook his head and prepared for whatever came next.
It really wouldn't be anything big, not yet… No, not yet. All of it pointed to them learning something but not anything good anytime yet.
He sighed and rested his weapon against his shoulder. The magnitude of the war with the Covenant almost made him forget they were fighting a war for the planet as well as everything else. It was bugging him just how little they had been represented.
It was almost ghostly silent when the sound of boots against the rocky ground reminded him almost too much, they weren't alone.
He turned to see the marines and Atlesian soldiers both entering the pit, unsure of what was coming as a result… All of it disturbed him but it also reminded him that there were more people on the planet than just them and whatever they went up against next. Well? It'd not help much if at all to forget who their friends were and who were that their enemies.
