CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE: FERA VS. WENDY

Everyone could only watch in shock as Laxus had took down the entire Raven Tail guild. Alexei had been revealed to be Master Ivan the whole time. Shiro and Orga just grinned. "At any rate, the victor... is Laxus Dreyar from Fairy Tail B!" Mato announced as Fairy Tail cheered.

Raven Tail was soon arrested by the royal guards. "After some consultation, it's been decided that Raven Tail is disqualified! And they're banned from participating in the tournament for three years." Chapati announced.

"Naturally!" Yajima agreed.

"Well, that result was an embarassment, but let's move on to the fourth match, the last match of the day-kabo!" Mato said as the audience cheered.

"From Fairy Tail A, Wendy Marvel!" Chapati said.

"I changed my outfit!" Wendy claimed.

"Good luck!" Natsu and Gray said in unison.

"Versus Fera Mandibula of God Pegasus A!" Chapati finished, saying who Wendy's opponent was.

"So I finally get a chance to fight, huh?" Fera stated.

"Kick her ass, fang boy." Lucas grinned.

"Stop using such vulgar language, will you? They're children." Olga sighed at her guild mate.

"Wendy..." Doranbolt thinks to himself.

"Alright, the moment you've been waiting for! Both contestants are taking the field-kabo!" Mato announced.

Fera walks out into the arena but trips over a rock, causing him to fall and the audience to laugh. "U-Um, are you okay?!" Wendy asked, rushing to him, but tripped on a rock as well.

"N-Nice to meet you..." Wendy greeted.

Fera nodded. "Same here!" He greeted back.

"Is that girl gonna be okay?" Carla asked.

"To me, it looks like she's got magic and motivation in spades!" Lily replied.

"Knowing Wendy, I'm sure she'll be fine!" Happy added.

"This is sure to be an incredibly cute showdown! I'm rootin' for 'em both-pyon!" Chapati exclaimed as his butt was moving side to side.

"'Pyon'?" Lahar repeated, not amused.

"Your character's changed..." Yajima commented.

Outside of the stadium, Jellal felt something as did Ultear and Meredy. "Ul... This magic..." Meredy muttered.

"Yeah... Zeref...?" Ultear questioned.

"Jellal! You felt that, didn't you?!" Meredy asked.

"In the arena? Ultear, Meredy, stand by! Don't move!" Jellal ordered.

"Understood!"

"Be careful!"

"Alright, the final match of day three!" Chapati said as the gong rang out, signaling the start of the match.

"Begin!" Mato shouted.

Fera and Wendy stared at each other. "Good luck, Wendy." Doranbolt wished her luck.

"Truly a cute combination! I'm tickled pink!" Chapati said.

"Was that girl in Fairy Tail?" Yajima asked.

"Yes. I only know a little about her, but she's a very courageous wizard." Lahar responded.

"After all my training, I have to do my best here!" Wendy thought as her face showed determation. "Here I go!"

"Ready!" Fera nodded at her.

Two Magic Circles appeared from Wendy's hands. "Arms, Vernier... Enchant!" She shouted. "Sky Dragon's Wing Attack!"

Wind went straight for Fera who easily dodged. "He dodged it?!" Wendy said in shock.

"So you just happen to be a Dragon Slayer like Lucas-san and Shiro-san, eh? Very well, then." Fera spoke. "Fang Magic: Bottom Jaw!"

Fera summoned beast fangs from the ground as spikes attacked Wendy, throwing her into the air. "Wendy!" Carla shouted out in worry as Wendy landed back on the ground with her hands out.

"Wow! You dodged that, huh? In that case..." Fera charged forward as he summoned two halves of a fanged jaw controlled by each hand. "Fang Magic: Bite Clap!" He called out, slamming his two hands together and creating a large bite attack.

"I'm not done!" Fera claimed as wind came from Wendy's feet.

"Sky Dragon's Talon!" She shouted out.

Both Fera and Wendy landed on the ground. "Sky Dragon's..." Wendy began.

"Shit! A breath attack!" Fera thinks to himself.

"Roar!" Wendy finished as a maroon-colored Magic Circle with a set of jaws in the middle appeared in front of Fera, quickly dispersing it.

"I see... Now I know why his magic seemed familiar." Jura spoke, getting Lyon's attention.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Mrs. Mandibula had the same type of magic." Jura replied.

"The Wizard Saint who died on a mission, right?" Yuka questioned.

Jura nodded. "It seems this young boy would be her son." He said.

"Geez, you almost got me there." Fera smirked as Wendy stood up. "You're as powerful as I thought you would be. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. This is a battle." Wendy reassured.

"Since we're here, let's have more fun, okay?" Fera told her.

"I... don't really know what it means to have fun fighting, but I'll do my best for the guild!" Wendy claimed.

"I think that's fine. I'll do my best for God Pegasus, too!" Fera declared as he winked.

"Gadzooks! To the eye, they're as cute as can be, but both of them are impressive wizards!" Chapati said.

"Your wig..." Yajima trailed off.

Both Fera and Wendy attacked one another. "Everyone... Everyone has... made it this far. Elfman-san said the rest is up to me!" Wendy told herself as memories flashed in her mind. "I don't like to fight, but when I have to fight for the sake of the guild... even I will do it seriously!"

Wendy soon began eating air. "So you eat air, huh? Is that healthier than crystals and lightning I wonder?" Fera asked himself, making Shiro face palm.

"His opponent is getting ready for a huge attack and that's what he's concerned about?" Shiro muttered.

Rialle laughed. "That's Fera for you!" She claimed.

"Dragon Slayer's Secret Art!" Wendy called out as a blue Magic Circle appeared from underneath her feet.

"Has she already mastered them both?!" Porlyuscia wondered.

"There it is!" Natsu exclaimed.

"Go!" Lucy cheered.

"Wendy knows the Secret Art?!" Lily questioned.

"Incredible!" Happy said.

"She's as good as won." Carla commented.

"What is this? A magic wind barrier? You've sealed us inside!" Fera stated.

"Shattering Light: Sky Drill!" Wendy finished as the barrier blasted towards Fera. Once the light disappeared, Fera dropped to the ground.

"Fera!" Lucas called out his name.

"Yeah!"

"She did it!"

"I haven't mastered Milky Way yet... so this was my full force. I used all my magic..." Wendy thought.

"W-Well, well..." Mato mumbled to himself as Fera remembered a memory from when he joined God Pegasus.

(Flashback)

"What?! You're kidding, right? A kid like you wants to join us?" Lucas laughed. "A wizard guild isn't a place for kids, so get lost!"

"Then is it a guild for people like you to pick on those younger?" Fera shot back, causing a raven-haired male to laugh.

"He's got you there, Lucas!"

"Shut up, lightning rod!" Lucas growled.

"Give him a chance, Luke. He might surprise you." Atlas told his best friend.

"Fine!"

(End Flashback)

Fera clenched his fist, getting Doranbolt's attention. "Fera's down! The winner, from Fairy Tail A..." Mato started to say.

"Hold on a second!" Fera's voice interrupted Mato, shocking Wendy. "I'm just getting started!"

Fera stood up as he groaned. "You're impressive, Wendy-chan." He complimented.

"P-P-Pardon me! Let the match continue-kabo!" Mato said.

"My magic's not gone yet. I can't lose this fight." Fera scoffed as he cracked his neck. "Lucas-san's lectures are a pain in the ass..."

"Well, I did tell him to give it his all..." Lucas stated.

"...He hasn't gone all out yet." Olga concluded.

Wendy stumbled back. "Are you okay? Want to give up?" Fera asked.

"Wendy..." Doranbolt muttered in concern before someone bumped into him.

"Excuse me."

"No problem." Doranbolt said before he noticed that Jellal, disguised as Mystogan, walked by him. "Mystogan?"

"Jellal, can you hear me?" Meredy asked.

"Well? Have you found out anything?" Ultear questioned.

"No, nothing yet." Jellal replied.

Somewhere inside Mercurius...

A hooded figure wearing a black cloak slammed his hands on a table. "I'm telling you, opening the Eclipse gate is dangerous! We're talking 10,000 Dragons here!" The hooded figure exclaimed.

"But Rogue from the future said-" Hisui began.

"He's lying! I know Rogue better than anyone! Or rather... I used to know him." The hooded figure interrupted. "You're putting the whole country at risk and all my sacrifices would've been for nothing!"

"I trust him."

This caused the hooded figure to clench his teeth. "You trust a psychopath dragon-obsessed man planning on taking over the country over me?" He asked, pulling down his hood and revealing his face and causing Hisui to gasp.

"But you're-" Hisui started to say.

"If you still trust Rogue even after I revealed my face to you, then be my guest. But I did try warning you." The figure spoke before pulling his hood over his head once more and exiting the palace.

"Sorry, Lucy... I tried my best. But it seems there's nothing I can do..."

A/N: Who is this hooded figure, I wonder? Yes, Future Lucy didn't go to the past alone! I bet you guys already know who it is!
