CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR: SMALL FIST
Wendy was breathing heavily, trying to catch her breath. "I guess you're not going to give up?" Fera questioned.
"Wendy!" Natsu exclaimed in worry.
"She can barely stand!" Lucy pointed out.
"Wendy..." Erza muttered.
"This is an incredible fight..." Gray mumbled.
Jellal was walking down the steps to get closer. "If that Fera boy has some connection to Zeref... Wendy is in danger!" Jellal thought as he stood in front of some spectators, blocking their view.
"Hey, you!"
"Huh? This guy..."
"From Fairy Tail...?"
"Should I stop this? Or wait and see?" Jellal asked himself.
By now, Doranbolt had stood up. "Wendy..." He thought before looking down at Jellal. "But right now... Seven years ago, I infiltrated Fairy Tail. To some extent, I'm acquainted with inside information on Fairy Tail. Mystogan... You're not supposed to exist in this world."
Jellal noticed that Doranbolt had his eyes locked on him while Wendy winced in pain.
"Listen, I'm not a big fan of fighting myself so why don't you make this easy for the both of us." Fera continued.
"The Council... At a time like this..." Jellal thought.
"You know, you can always surrender." Fera concluded.
"I can't!" Wendy shouted, making Fera get taken aback. "The fact that I'm standing here means that I'm prepared to fight for my guild! I don't need your pity. Until I fall and can't move anymore, come at me with everything you've got! Please!"
Fera was lost for words. "Wendy…" Carla muttered.
"Sure. That's only common courtesy." Fera said.
"Right!" Wendy agreed.
"I guess it's only fair that I break out my big move. Fang Magic!" Fera shouted.
A large maroon Magic Circle appeared under Wendy, getting everyone's attention.
"No, Fera!" Lucas shouted.
"Are you trying to put her in the hospital?!" Atlas yelled.
"I'm answering the full strength of your feelings with my full strength! Here it comes, Wendy-chan!" Fera said.
"Great Fang: Behemoth Crunch!" Fera finished his spell. A large set of jaws with sharp fangs appeared. Just as it was about to bite down, Wendy crossed her arms above her head and the spell didn't hit her.
"She dodged it!" Romero said.
"No... It missed her!" Makarov corrected.
Fera stared in amazement. "What strategy! Amazing!" He praised.
"Sky Dragon's..." Wendy jumped up. "Crushing Fang!"
She struck Fera, who blocked it using Black Fang Pack.
"Guess I'm gonna have to do this the old-fashioned way..." Fera noted.
Wendy aimed a kick at Fera, who countered it with one of his own as their magic power collided. The two of them landed on the ground.
"This is an incredible turn of events! Neither side is giving any ground!" Chapati said as Fera and Wendy were throwing punches. "It's a clash of little fists! Is this tenacity for the sake of their guilds?!"
"I can't stop this..." Jellal thinks to himself as Fera and Wendy continued their battle. "Though their fists are small, their passion is vast..."
Everyone was watching the two battle. "Go! Neither of you lose!" Natsu cheered.
"Wendy..." Carla teared up a bit.
The battle resumed as the audience cheered and the gong rang out, signaling time was up.
"And so... time has run out!" Chapati announced as both Wendy and Fera were trying to catch their breath. "The match is over and it's a draw! Both teams receive five points!"
"Awesome!" Natsu said.
"You did great, Wendy!" Lucy praised.
"Both of them were magnificent." Erza stated.
"Yep." Gray agreed.
"Fera and Wendy both did very well." Lucas stated with his arms crossed.
"We were lucky to get to see that." Olga claimed.
"This is the best match I've seen yet!" Chapati said.
"Wendy..." Happy sobbed.
"W-What are you crying for?" Carla scolded.
Fera looked over at Wendy. "Did it hurt? I'm sorry." He apologized.
"I'm fine. That's all I hear from you." Wendy replied as they both smiled at each other.
"That was fun, Wendy." Fera said.
"I enjoyed it too, a little." Wendy admitted as Fera walked over to her.
"Hey, let's be friends, okay?" Fera suggested.
"Sure. I mean, if you want me as a friend..." Wendy said.
"No, no, no! Answer like friends are supposed to." Fera told her before extending his hand and smiling. "Let's be friends, Wendy!"
Wendy smiled back. "Sure, Fera!" She accepted. Both of them stood up and shook hands.
"What a moving ending! For this old man, the tournament is over!" Chapati announced.
"Hold on there. Just the third day is over." Yajima reminded.
"Thank you, everyone!"
God Pegasus A was currently leaving the arena. "Looks like another day is done." Olga stated.
"I can't believe we're halfway through the Games already." Alyssa added.
"We're one step closer to victory!" Lucas exclaimed. "Come on! Fera's battle may have ended in a draw, but at least we got points! Let's go celebrate!"
Meanwhile, the B Team were talking as well, exiting the arena. "Should we head over to eat somewhere?" Shiro suggested.
"I'm fine with that." Rialle said as Bella nodded in agreement.
A hooded figure suddenly rushed past them in a hurry, bumping into Atlas in the process. "Excuse me. I'm in a hurry." The person said in a low voice.
"Sure." Atlas replied before a familiar wave of magic power caught his attention. "It can't be...!"
"Hey, Atlas. You good?" Nero questioned, making Atlas turn to him.
"I-I'm fine." Atlas responded.
"You sure? You look like you just saw a ghost." Bella stated.
"It's nothing. Don't worry about it." Atlas reassured.
"I might have been imagining it... But that magic power... It was exactly like Luke's mixed with something else. But Luke is with the A Team and they left before us, so it couldn't be him." Atlas thinks to himself.
"Just who was that person?"
A/N: Sorry that this chapter was so short! I wanted to get this out to you all before I put it on hiatus.
