A/N: Hello, readers! I realized I made a few mistakes in the last chapter. Where I typed "Gajeel" instead of "Lucas" and then I mixed up OC's from my other SYOC story, so we're just going to ignore that.

Enjoy!

CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT: LUCAS VS. THE TWIN DRAGONS

Everyone in the audience began cheering. In the audience, a tear fell from a hooded figure's eye, dropping to the ground and getting Jellal's attention. "This is..." Jellal thinks to himself. "Him?!"

"It feels like Zeref, but it's different somehow." Ultear pointed out.

"He's in the stadium again, isn't he?" Meredy questioned.

Jellal began running. 'Jellal, don't let him get away this time!' Ultear spoke telepathically.

'I know! I'm concerned about the match, but right now...' Jellal trailed off.

"You can take us on by yourself? You're just messin' with us..." Sting said.

Lucas smirked. "Believe what you wanna believe... To be quite honest, I was going to fold this match and let Fairy Tail have the win." He said, taking Sting and Rogue by surprise. "But then, Atlas told me something..."

Earlier...

"You two can have your talk. I'm heading out." Natsu informed as he turned around and headed into the arena.

Lucas turned to look towards Atlas. "Well? What is it?" He asked.

"You're planning on folding this match, aren't you?"

Lucas flinched. "I-I wasn't-" He started to say.

"Luke, aside from Sting, I know you better than anyone." Atlas interrupted. "Do you really think not trying your best will make God Pegasus win?"

"You don't understand. I can't fight them. My emotions will get in the way."

"Then turn your emotions off."

"Huh?"

Atlas sighed. "Turn them off. Don't think about who you're fighting. I know you have the power to do it. I've seen you do it before." He said.

Present...

"What was it you were saying earlier, Rogue? That my emotions held me back from fighting the both of you?" Lucas chuckled darkly as his face turned serious. "You want me to fight without emotion? Well, your wish is granted."

Lucas soon got covered in green energy as he activated his Dragon Force, dark green scales appearing on his face and arms as his hair turned dark green and spiked up. "I'm going to make a prediction... In 15 minutes, the both of you will be defeated." He concluded.

"What?" Sting and Rogue spoke in unison.

"My predictions always come true. I think the both of you know that." Lucas told them as he got into a fighting stance. "Come!"

Sting and Rogue soon re-activated their Dragon Force. "Dragon Force is the power of a dragon. There's nothing more powerful in this world!" Sting charged forward as Lucas was quick to counter it.

"Did you forget I have the same kind of power?" Lucas asked.

"My power is complete! This is the power I used to kill Weisslogia!" Sting exclaimed.

"Sting... Do you remember when we were thirteen? It was back when I was in Sabertooth, and we had just gotten lacrimas planted into us. We were training and our Dragon Force was super unstable. But..." Lucas got covered in green energy again. "This isn't training anymore, this is the real deal!"

Lucas struck Sting in the face, sending him back. Rogue soon appeared behind him. "Look out, Lucas!" Eric warned.

"Behind you!" Drake called out.

"Shadow Dragon's Roar!" Rogue shouted, releasing a blast of black shadows.

Lucas turned around. "Jade Dragon's Roar!" He called out, letting out a blast of green energy that cancelled out Rogue's attack and caused an explosion.

"That was nothing!" Sting claimed, charging forward once more.

"Frosch... I... I can still fight!" Rogue said.

Lucas raised his hand as no emotion appeared on his face. "Bring it on." He challenged as Sting and Rogue both charged at him again.

"I forgot how scary he can be without emotion." Alyssa commented.

"It's true that neither Sting nor Rogue are weak, but Luke responds to stronger opponents by becoming more powerful than he already is." Atlas stated as they watched Lucas continue his fight with Sting and Rogue.

"People assume fighting with emotion makes you stronger. With Lucas, it's the complete opposite." Eric said. "Him not feeling anything while he fights makes him dangerous."

Sting and Rogue appeared from the green energy that Lucas had sent their way as Lucas continued to fight them off.

"Wonderful parfum, Lucas-kun..." Ichiya stated.

"Damn, how strong is that guy?" Ren wondered out loud.

Lucas soon sent a punch towards Sting's face. "Wow. Nice hit." Blaze complimented.

"He's doing what he does best." Ace said as Lucas punched both Sting and Rogue.

Sting sent a white beam towards Lucas who easily dodged it and sent a blast of green energy right back at him, hitting Sting and sending him flying in the air.

"Hey, is this for real?!" Orga asked.

"I have no memory of seeing the power of the Dragon Force losing ground like this." Rufus said.

"Power, eh?" Minerva questioned more to herself as the fight between the three Dragon Slayers resumed.

"Sting!" Rogue shouted, summoning a ball of shadows.

"Yeah!" Sting said, summoning a ball of holy light soon after.

Lucas just looked at them. "Well, what do you know... Never thought you'd use that attack against me... Sting, Rogue." He thought.

"Even during this, Lucas still looks as calm as ever." Drake commented.

"Considering he's seen them use this attack before, I'm sure he has some counterattack." Lex pointed out.

For some reason, as he watched Sting and Rogue's attack go into smaller balls into their hands, Lucas thought back to the memories he had with Sting and Rogue.

A thirteen year old Lucas collapsed to the ground once he was released from his crystal prison, a blonde about the same age as him caught him on time.

"Hey, you're okay." The blonde reassured.

"Are you two the ones who broke me out of that?" Lucas asked, noticing the blonde's companion.

"We did. I'm Sting, this is Rogue. As well as Lector and Frosch." Sting introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Lucas."

Then there was the time where he left Sabertooth.

"You're leaving?" A fifteen year old Sting questioned.

"Sorry, Sting... I just... I can't be in Sabertooth anymore. There's this guild that interested me. God Pegasus, I think it's name was. Maybe I'll join their ranks." Lucas replied. he looked at Sting and Rogue's distaught faces as he held his fist towards them.

"Don't give me that look, you two. Even if I'm in a new guild, we'll still be friends, right?"

Sting and Rogue both chuckled before putting their fists against Lucas's.

"Friends forever."

"Holy Shadow Dragon's Fang Flash!" Sting and Rogue shouted in unison, thrusting their attack forward as it headed straight for Lucas.

An explosion was then heard.

"It's Fiore's strongest guild, Sabertooth, vs. the second strongest guild, God Pegasus! And taking the challenge of this tag battle are four dragons!" Chapati announced.

"Although one of them has gone off somewhere..." Yajima reminded.

"Currently, below the arena, Lucas and the Twin Dragons are locked in fierce battle!" Chapati said.

"Holy Shadow Dragon's Fang Flash!" Sting and Rogue shouted in unison, thrusting their attack forward as it headed straight towards Lucas.

Lucas extended his arms out, gathering magic power into his arms. "Dragon Slayer's Secret Art!" He called out as a dark green Magic Circle appeared in front of him. "Imperial Jewel: Royal Coffin!"

Large jade spiked doors soon appeared, overpowering Sting and Rogue's combined attack and enclosing on them, causing an explosion and making the whole arena shake.

"Oh, my! It looks like the mega-moves of both sides ended the match... It's like an earthquake here! Apparently, the live feed lacrima is experiencing technical difficulties, so please sit tight a little longer!" Chapati announced.

Finally, the lacrima screens turned back on. "Oh, my! Thank you for your patience! It seems Lacrima-Vision is back up!" Chapati said.

Rogue stumbled back. "Lucas... Your power is... immeasurable..." He thinks to himself as he fell towards the ground.

Sting fell to his knees. "You truly are amazing, Luke..." He thought.

Sting and Rogue both collapsed to the ground. "Th-This is... The last one standing is Lucas Ray!" Chapati announced.

The gong soon rang out as Lucas sighed. "It's God Pegasus! He broke the Twin Dragons! The winner is God Pegasus! With this, they've leaped to first place! And this brings an end to the fourth day of the Grand Magic Games! After one day off, we'll be back the day after tomorrow with the final battle! The last day... will feature a survival battle, with all of the members participating! Which guild will achieve victory in the end?! Don't anyone miss it!" Chapati exclaimed.

The scoreboard showed God Pegasus taking the first place spot, just under Fairy Tail and bumping Sabertooth down to third.

"I figured it would turn out like this!" Bob exclaimed.

"That's what I expected, I guess I should say..." Goldmine said.

"Our goal for the final day has changed!" Obaba stated, spinning her finger.

Kaiba lets out a booming laugh. "Bring it on, you old geezers!" He challenged the other guild masters.

"God Pegasus is going down!"

"Atlas... It's time for a rematch between us..." Jura claimed.

"Shiro..." Ren commented.

"Let's have some fun, Lucas-kun..." Ichiya said.

Meanwhile, Lector was sobbing. "Lector..." Frosch mumbled before she started tearing up as well.

"I can't believe those two lost... And against Lucas of all people." Orga commented.

Rufus chuckled. "It was an interesting match. I've thoroughly memorized it." He said.

"This'll keep us in the spotlight for a while." Orga grinned.

"'For a while'... If they have a while..." Minerva informed.

"Th-That guy..."

Jiemma was seething, having a dark aura around him and scaring the nearby spectators.

"Saber's master!"

Minerva was walking in the tunnels before she stopped and turned. "Lucas... My father was wrong to let you just leave Sabertooth..." She noted.

"Go ahead. I'll give this match to you. After this one, we're gonna keep winning anyway. We're not gonna miss one or two points."

"Don't cry about that one point later, kid!"

Sting clenched his fist as he recalled what Gajeel had said during the Chariot event. Lucas walked forward as his Dragon Force finally de-activated before he looked at Sting and Rogue.

"Sting, Rogue... You both fought well." Lucas told them. "I know what happens after this. Jiemma's probably beyond pissed about this outcome. So... The door to God Pegasus is always open. You're welcome to join after the tournament is over. I know Master Kaiba would love to have the both of you."

As people were leaving the stadium, Jellal had his eyes locked onto the hooded figure in front of him while Lucas joined up with his guildmates along with Fairy Tail.

"Sorry for completely taking over the fight." Lucas immediately apologized.

Erza smiled at him. "It's fine. We still got one more day after all. We hold no grudges." She reassured.

"You did it, Lucas!" Ace cheered, giving his partner a high five.

"That was an intense fight." Alyssa stated.

"Indeed. But I had fun." Lucas confessed.

Shiro walked up to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Today, I'll give you honest praise, Lucas. You're incredible." He admitted as Atlas sweat dropped.

"You're actually admitting that?" Lucas teased.

"Don't make me take it back, you piece of shit!" Shiro shouted, making everyone laugh.

"You gave us a good show, but what happened to Natsu?" Happy asked.

"Come to think of it... He took off during the middle of it! Who the hell does he think he is?!" Lucas exclaimed, completely forgetting that he pushed Natsu into a mine cart.

Happy deadpanned. "Have you forgotten what you did?!" He questioned.

"That's Lucas for you!" Ace stated as Fairy Tail soon left.

"Get plenty of rest tomorrow to prepare for the final day's survival battle." Atlas informed.

"The final battle, huh? I'm gonna win it for sure!" Alyssa claimed.

"Victory first! After that, I'm gonna fight you two, Atlas and Shiro!" Lucas declared.

Atlas chuckled. "Fine with me." He agreed.

"I think you're putting the horse before the carriage or whatever..." Shiro said.

Later that night...

'Jellal, what's happening?' Ultear asked.

'Don't tell me he got away again?' Meredy questioned.

'No, I put some distance between us, and I'm on his trail. I'm thinking I'll make my move where there aren't any other people around.' Jellal replied.

'Roger.'

"You're not getting away this time... You possess magic similar to Zeref's... Who the hell are you?!" Jellal wondered.

Meanwhile, Yukino was staring out a window. "So Sabertooth's been defeated... by Lucas-sama..." She muttered as a guard walked up to her.

"You must have mixed feelings, Sergeant Yukino."

"No. I no longer feel any attachment to the guild. That aside, I just can't get used to being addressed as 'Sergeant'." Yukino admitted.

"My apologies. Participating in the Eclipse Project... requires a temporary rank."

"The Eclipse Project... If my power may be of use, then I'm prepared to wield it to the utmost. For the sake of Arcadios-sama, too, who invited me to join." Yukino paused in realization. "I suppose I should refer to him as 'Colonel'."

"That's all right. I call him 'Captain' myself. And his old friends call him 'Dio'."

"Really?" Yukino looked back out into the garden. "But he's socially awkward, isn't he? Even though he's trying to save the world, no one is aware of it..."

Jellal continued to followed the hooded figure from a distance.

That day, we believed in victory. The final day was a really hard-fought battle.

Do you remember it, Luke?

The hooded figure walked up some steps.

And then... July 7th. We lost... to fate.

One by one, all of our friends died... Including Nero...

Future Atlas was shown writing a letter to his best friend as tears slipped from his eyes.

I can't express into words... Luke... I can't take it anymore... Somebody help me!

The hooded figure finally stops above the steps, getting a good view of the moon.

"Halt!" Jellal called out, making the figure pause as Jellal took off his mask. "I'm revealing my identity. Now you reveal yours."

A gust of wind blew through their cloaks. Jellal looked down, noticing the person's right leg was covered in dark green scales.

"Dragon scales..." He thought as the wind stopped blowing. The figure turned around slowly, facing Jellal.

Jellal widened his eyes upon seeing who the person was.

"It can't be..."

A/N: To those of you who are wondering where Future Lucy is, it'll be explained further on, as well as the dragon scales.

I hope you guys enjoyed a snippet of Lucas's past with Sting and Rogue. Figured it was a nice touch.
