CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO: ALYSSA VS. GRAY

"Oh, my! Fairy Tail's Gray and God Pegasus's Alyssa are going to duel in the library area!" Chapati announced as Gray and Alyssa were shown on the Lacrima Vision.

"Ice Magic versus Ice Magic..." Levy muttered to herself.

"They both have similar magic. Is he gonna be okay?" Elfman asked.

"Did you calculate this too, Number One?" Romeo questioned, turning to the founding master.

"No. Gray was supposed to meet Rufus." Mavis replied, shocking everyone.

"God Pegasus must have a strategist on their team then." Warren commented.

Meanwhile, the God Pegasus spectators were watching the screen as well. "This is our first encounter with a Fairy Tail member. Not to mention, it's against one of their strongest members." Olga pointed out.

"Is that girl gonna be okay?" Rialle then asked.

Zoey smirked in amusement, crossing her arms as she did so. "If there's one thing I've learned from the Lunar Fang conflict, it's that you should never underestimate the wizards who seem weak." She replied. "Do you hear me, Frostmourne? You better kick his ass!"

Alyssa chuckled to herself. "Hear you loud and clear, Velveteen." She muttered.

The night before...

"Huh? You want Alyssa to go against Gray?" Eric asked Nero in shock as Team God Pegasus was still at the bar.

"They both use Ice Magic, wouldn't they just cancel each other out?" Shiro questioned.

"It's true that Gray is strong. And Alyssa's magic is more support oriented, but she's strong enough to use her magic for offense, you just have to realize how to use it in an offense way." Nero explained.

Alyssa was silent for a few moments before she finally sighed and nodded. "I'll figure out a way, Nero. I promise. Lucas has done so much for us. I want to help him in return." She said.

Gray put his fist in his palm. "Here I go!" He declared as frost appeared from his hands. "Ice-Make: Freeze Lancer!" He called out.

Alyssa jumped into the air, avoiding Gray's attack before landing on the ground. "You're not getting away! Ice Impact!" Gray shouted as Alyssa avoided his attack once more, landing on the ground again.

"Are you going to actually fight me or are you gonna dodge the whole time?" Gray questioned.

"If you want a fight, then you got one." Alyssa replied. "Glacial Onslaught!"

Alyssa fired numerous smaller glacial chunks towards Gray, sending him back a bit. "Glacial Plummet!" Alyssa shouted next, sending large chunks of glacial ice out instead.

"Ice-Make: Shield!" Gray called out, creating a shield in front of him to block the oncoming glacial chunks. However, Gray's ice shield was soon destroyed as the glacial chunks attacked him, making him collapse on the ground.

Juvia looked at the screen to see Gray struggling to get up. "Gray-sama!" She exclaimed.

"Oh, my! Alyssa has Gray on the ropes with a fierce attack!" Chapati announced.

Alyssa chuckled as she walked forward. "What's wrong? I thought this was the end of the line for me." She taunted before narrowing her eyes. "When it comes to fighting, I'm not very good at it. But in order to get Lucas back, I have to win this fight. God Pegasus must emerge victorious, and we will."

"Lucas?" Gray thinks to himself. "Does the God Pegasus team members not know of the Rescue Team?"

Gray slowly got up. "Gray has managed to get up!" Chapati announced.

"You can still move? Well, I suppose it would be boring if the fight just ended here." Alyssa admitted as she sent more numerous small glacial chunks at Gray, sending him to the ground once more.

"Oh, my! W-Will Gray be able to get up again after that fierce attack?!" Chapati wondered.

"Gray-sama! If I could, I would rush to your side... but Juvia believes in Gray-sama! So I'll follow Number One's plan." Juvia said to herself, watching the screen.

Eric was also watching the screen. "Man... And to think Alyssa is going easy on him. She hasn't even brought out her full power yet." He mumbled under his breath.

Gray tried to attack her as Alyssa sent more large chunks at him, sending him crashing into a bookcase and causing an explosion, getting Juvia's attention. "Gray-sama is over there..." She muttered to herself before shaking her head and continuing on her way.

"Use my magic as an offense way... I think I finally know what Nero meant by that." Alyssa noted.

"This is a one-sided fight so far. In the battle of Ice Magic, will Alyssa win?" Chapati asked.

"Come on, Frostmourne. You got the upper hand. Defeat him already and take the point." Zoey said.

"I think she was going easy on him for a reason. Nero had stated that her magic could have offensive capabilities, she just needs to realize it." Blaze explained.

"So you mean she was stalling until she figured it out?" Rialle questioned.

Blaze nodded. "I think she finally realized what Nero meant. Did you not notice she has not once used her Frozen Magic?" He asked.

"Huh? Now that you mention it..." Olga trailed off.

"She has been only using her Glacial Magic." Zoey finished. "What is your plan, Frostmourne?"

"Something wrong, Olga?" Rosaline questioned, seeing Olga's worried look.

"Sorry. I'm just wondering if things are going well for Drake, Fera, Sting, and Ace." Olga replied.

"We keep walking and walking, but there's no exit?" Lucy complained.

"Didn't we pass by here before?" Lily questioned as Lucas, Natsu, and Sting were sniffing the area.

"Well, Natsu?" Mira asked.

"No good. Nobody's gotten out of here in a long time." Natsu responded.

"I can't smell an exit either." Lucas added. "Sting?"

"I'm coming to a blank as well." Sting sighed.

"That spells trouble for us." Mira stated.

"Come to think of it, Dragon Slayers have a strong sense of smell, right?"

"But human odors don't hang around for long."

Lucy soon realized someone was missing from the group. "Huh? Where's Happy?" She asked.

Happy soon appeared with a skull over his head as Lucy screeched. "What are you doing?!" She exclaimed as Natsu was holding a skull in his hand.

"Look at the skulls lying over here." He commented.

"Don't pick it up!" Lucy scolded.

"What's with you?" Natsu questioned.

"Well, this is the capital of death... I guess I could say." Lily stated.

"Princess Hisui said this is the final freedom, where all criminals end up." Carla said.

"And looking at these remains, it seems no one has gotten out of here." Ace added.

"This is freedom? Not despair?" Lily questioned.

"She said we wouldn't get outta here, but gimme a friggin' break." Natsu pounded his fists together. "Just for that, we're definitely gonna get out. I'm fired up."

"That's right! If she think we'll give up, she's sorely mistaken!" Lucy agreed.

"If we split up, I'm sure we'll find a clue to an exit." Wendy added.

"You're all so strong." Yukino commented.

"Well, most of it is that we just don't give in."

"Let's hang in there! Every pinch has some kind of way out." Lucy said.

Everyone soon regrouped. "Um... Everyone..." Yukino began.

"No matter how many rocks I destroy, there are more rocks!" Natsu complained.

"I guess there are pinches that have no way out..." Lucy muttered.

"Even though we split up, we didn't find anything." Wendy added.

"That's it! I don't know why I didn't think of this before!" Lucas exclaimed, turning to Drake. "Drake, doesn't your magic have to deal with portals and shit? Well, make one and get us the hell out of here!"

Drake had an irked expression. "If I could do that, I would've done it already!" He exclaimed.

"'Hell' is the right word for this place." Lily commented.

"I bet that princess is watching us struggle and laughing." Carla said.

Happy turned around. "She's watching?" He questioned.

"Nice hobby she has..." Mira said.

"Hobby?!"

"Happy?" Natsu asked.

"I thought of a good idea!" Happy exclaimed.

"What's your idea?" Lucy questioned.

"I'm scared to ask what it is this time..." Ace mumbled.

"I have a bad feeling about this..." Carla added.

"Yeah..." Lily agreed.

"You said somebody's watching us and that it's a nice hobby, right?" Happy asked.

"Yeah, yeah." Natsu and Lucy nodded their heads in sync.

"I bet the kingdom's soldiers have us under surveillance." Happy said.

"You mean they're guarding us?" Natsu questioned.

"I see..." Lucy muttered.

"True, it seems like they'd do that." Mira added.

"Right? So let's get the guards' attention and lure them here." Happy said.

"Then we hit 'em!" Natsu exclaimed.

"No! As soon as the guards come here, we brillantly escape!" Everyone looked to see what he had drawn on the ground. "Well?"

"I understand what you're saying, but this drawing is..." Lucy started to say.

"Scary, isn't it?" Wendy finished.

Happy had a gloomy expression. "Lure them here, you say?" Carla quoted.

"We don't know where they are or if they're watching us, so how do we get their attention?" Lily asked.

"L-Lily... Don't ask questions I don't want to know the answer to." Ace said.

"Huh?"

"I've got it!" Natsu exclaimed.

"That's my Natsu!" Happy cheered.

"Strip!" Natsu and Happy said to Lucy, pointing at her.

"Excuse me?!" Lucy exclaimed.

"After all, the soldiers are all men!" Happy informed as pictures of Lucy and Mira in bikinis were in Natsu's hands.

"Like this!"

"D-Daring!" Yukino stuttered as her face was red, backing away a bit.

"It was only for work! And we don't need to get that much attention..." Lucy informed.

"Isn't this really old?"

"A Weekly Sorcerer from about seven years ago, right?"

"Seven years ago?"

"You probably don't know about it, Yukino-san." Wendy informed.

"This makes me feel nostalgic." Mira claimed.

"Oh? Shiro has this copy under his-" Lucas stopped his sentence before clearing his throat. "Never mind. I don't want to get electrocuted by him."

"Why do you have that in the first place?" Lucy asked.

"Yeah, why do you have it, Natsu-san?" Sting teased, wiggling his eyebrows.

"It was lying over there." Natsu replied, pointing to some remains.

"There's a journal. 'It's been three years since I was shut up in here. As I wait for the end, these cheesecake photos soothe my mind. Mira-tan is cute. Losing consciousness as Mira-tan gazes at me from the page... Together with Mira-tan...'" Lily read as he paled. Everyone else did as well.

"I'm suddenly starting to get scared." Carla commented.

"The guy never mentioned Lucy." Natsu realized.

"What do I care?! I shouldn't even make a comment!" Lucy scolded.

"Then let's do this thing! I call it 'Appeal to Men's Instincts! Operation: Cheesecake Escape'!" Happy declared.

"I'm fired up! Let's go, Lucy!" Natsu said.

"I'm gonna do it?!"

Mira posed in a red bikini. "I'll support you!" She cheered.

"You're too into it!" Lucy commented. "And where am I gonna get a swimsuit?!"

"Is Fairy Tail always like this?" Yukino asked.

"There's one on the ground over there."

"No, not always." Wendy replied.

"I hate this in more ways than one!"

Lucy was finally in a bikini. "Jeez! If I'm gonna do this, I'm going all out!" She claimed.

"But of course!" Natsu said.

"They may be able to hear you too, so let's include a commentary!" Happy added.

"Entry number one! Lucy Heartfilia!"

"Meow! If you don't let us out of here, I'm gonna punish you!" Lucy said.

Lily held up a 4. "I don't know what she means!" He said.

Happy was holding up an 8. "Erotic!"

Carla held up a 9. "Well, not bad..."

"What is this?" Lucy questioned.

"Entry number two! Mirajane Strauss!"

"You want to see me to go all out? Then come and get me, but be prepared to die." Mira claimed.

"That's not what we're supposed to be doing here!" Lucy complained.

"Um... After going this far, it's hard for me to say this..." Wendy began.

"...but if no one is actually watching, then isn't it meaningless?" Yukino finished.

"They do make a valid point." Lucas added with Sting nodding in agreement.

"It's better than doing nothing!" Happy claimed.

"Better?" Carla quoted.

"Yeah! I'm sure they'll be right out! Don't sell Fairy Tail short!" Natsu added. "So I'm countin' on you!"

"You're putting it all on me?!" Lucy exclaimed as Yukino smiled a bit.

Lucas chuckled as he shook his head, watching Natsu and Lucy bicker.

Another explosion came as Gray soon rolled on the ground. "Oh, dear! An awesome follow-up attack! Is Gray helpless to do anything but lick the floor?!" Chapati announced as the audience cheered.

Alyssa chuckled as she was sitting on the railing before hopping down. "I will admit, I underestimated you just a tiny bit. I didn't think you would hang on for this long. You Fairy Tail wizards all have that spark in you." She said.

"Hey, Gray!" Natsu's voice was soon heard. "Quit dilly-dallying and take this woman out!"

"Shut up! That's just what I'm about to do!" Gray exclaimed, getting into a fighting stance.

Ice soon appeared from the ground as Alyssa dodged it on time. "Oh, my! Has Gray Fullbuster started to counterattack at last?!" Chapati wondered, making Juvia smile.

Alyssa landed on the ground, sighing as she did so. Gray ended up removing his shirt. "He took it off! He took it off! He took it off!" Chapati exclaimed as the women in the audience went wild.

Juvia was covering her eyes. "Gray-sama!" She squealed.

"He took off his shirt." Mavis said.

"He did." Makarov stated.

"Yeah! That means he's in serious mode!" Warren claimed.

"Everything you've taken up to now, dish it out to her, Gray!" Max cheered.

"You're finally getting serious, huh? In that case..." Alyssa trailed off as she was covered in her magic aura. "Frozen Mountain!"

When her magic power finally disappeared, it looked like her body was incased in a fluid ice. "She's finally using her Frozen Magic!" Bella pointed out.

"Strike him down now, Frostmourne!" Zoey cheered.

"Frozen Mountain increases her durability, right?" Izumi questioned, making Olga nod.

"Whatever attack Gray throws at her, she'll be able to take it." The tribe woman replied.

Gray placed his fists together. "Ice-Make..." He began. "Unlimited!"

Swords began spinning around before spiraling upwards. "Powerful Dance of Chaos!" Gray finished his spell. Alyssa avoided them as she charged forward at Gray.

"There's something you should know about God Pegasus. When one of our friends are in danger, we don't know the meaning of holding back!" Alyssa claimed. "Frozen Revenge!"

Her attack hits Gray, slowly freezing him solid as he collapsed to the ground in defeat, shocking Fairy Tail and making the audience cheer.

"She won!" Bella exclaimed as her and Rialle hugged.

"Of course she did." Zoey said, crossing her arms.

"Alyssa did it! God Pegasus won! Gray lost!" Chapati announced as the audience cheered once more.

Nero smiled to himself. "I knew you could do it, Alyssa." He mumbled under his breath.

"I quit!" Lucy whined as her and Happy paled.

"Just showing them was a waste of time." Mira informed, transforming back into her normal outfit.

"Nobody's come..." Natsu muttered.

"That operation failed." Carla commented.

"They showed off for nothing." Lily stated.

"I somehow saw this coming." Ace added.

"And I was so sure it would work..." Happy said.

"I guess it means they're not monitoring us." Fera informed.

"Then maybe we should look for another means..." Drake said.

"That's all we can do."

The group began to walk away, unaware of the single-eyed flower the sprouted, watching them. "I'm tired from thrusting my chest out." Lucy complained.

Lucas turned around in alarm. "What is it, Luke?" Sting asked.

"Huh? It's nothing..." Lucas replied, turning back around.

"Just had a strange feeling we're being watched, that's all."

A/N: God, that battle was so crappy. I had to cut out a lot of shit from Gray's battle with Rufus.
