Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Prideful Plains. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own Lion King; Disney and a few others do.

Akida looked around, alert to his surroundings. He turned in time to flip Vitani off of him, throwing her into a crouch.

"Oh, nice timing." Vitani said, smirking through her fangs towards Akida who frowned. "What? You liked hunting when we first met." Vitani said as Akida huffed.

"Before you started taking count of every time you pinned me." Akida stated before scowling. "Every time I leave and come out here? You find me. I'm starting to think you follow me as soon as I leave." Akida said as Vitani stepped closer.

The young lion was forced to take a step backwards as Vitani circled around him, like a crocodile. She smirked, her claws at the ready as she did so, Akida growled, baring his own fangs and claws.

"Maybe I do, I know part of you wants to see me every day. Its why you come this way." Vitani responded as the two young lions began to circle each other. "You know which ways I go; you ALWAYS go those ways. You never take the choice to travel somewhere else… You WANT to run into me every day, don't you? ~" Vitani purred to which Akida grunted.

There was a brief splash of color on his face. He knew what she was getting at and it was kinda cutting at him. She had enough of a point that he couldn't really dispute it. There were no real words to dispute it and she was smarter than she looked. Vitani was quite curious how this would end… But unlike her brothers? She had a lot of brains in her head, just like him.

"I'm not afraid of you, Vitani." Akida growled out, his voice sounding far more vicious than it did a few minutes ago. "And maybe I do want to fight you, but you ALWAYS start these fights, and I'm going to finish them." Akida stated to which he shook his head.

He leapt at her only for Vitani to leap back, eager to match him. she backed off into the chest high grass. He followed, just like he always had. She chuckled, ready to slash at him, ready to hunt. She lived for this, she thrived on it.

And so did he. She knew this, she wanted him to be like that. Akida enjoyed fighting her, she wanted him to enjoy it every single second of life. They were enemies, it was only nature she reminded herself.

"You want to hunt me down? You want a fight that bad?" Vitani questioned, stalking through the grass. "Because you enjoy this, deep down? You want this not to end, you like the hunt too much for it end like this." Vitani stated as Akida grit his fangs.

She toyed with him, every second, every day. They did this, they hunted each other back and forth, stalking through the grass every day. He swept a paw at her only for her to leap back, curious as to how best to think about how to fight her.

"Aw, is someone mad?" Vitani questioned as she turned, curious as to how this would end. "Your always mad, you want to point out how much I start things, but you? I think you WANT this fight." Vitani added as Akida lunged.

He missed, but managed to grab her tail, twisting the young lion around towards him. He knew what she wanted; she enjoyed their talks. There was always an edge to their confrontations when they met up again and again. If they continued,

"Do you think I can't fight you?" Akida questioned, lunging forward towards her. "I don't need to stop you, I've beaten you before, Vitani. I stopped you once…. But you always come back, you always want to fight when it came down to it." Akida added, throwing himself into her, hopeful.

"You love this enough to keep fighting me, Akida." Vitani said as the two tumbled through the air. "I just don't understand what comes next. But I do know you're never going to stop wanting to hunt me." Vitani put in as Akida slashed at her once more.

He didn't want her to be right, she couldn't be right. Akida watched deep cold brown mud around him churn. He knew something was going on. There was plenty of things to do currently do. Akida was quite curious as to how this was going.

"You don't know that there will be interesting stuff going on." Vitani stated as she shook her head. "Why do you constantly think you know me so much? You don't, I'm not as silly as you seem to think I am." Vitani said before she leapt backwards.

"You're the one who keeps treating this like a game." Akida stated, baring his teeth at her which made her smirk.

"You're the one enjoying it like I do so much." Vitani stated which wasn't a lie, but it wasn't true all the way.

He pounced at her, ready to cut her down. Vitani dodged the bite, going to lunge at him return as he so. There was so much fun they could have if he lightened up even an inch currently. It would have helped plenty.

"Ah, is someone grumpy?" Vitani teased while she hummed while he continued to claw at her.

He growled in pure rage while continuing to swipe at her. She lunged at him, knocking them down a slope and into the next part of the Pridelands.

"Aw, you're so adorable when it comes down to it." Vitani stated as they slammed into the mud and swampy water. "You keep acting like you're going to win, but you aren't. We've played this game 50 times and you've never won once, you know. Why do you keep trying to win?" Vitani asked as both landed in the mud.

Akida looked at Vitani through mud-stained eyes. His ocean blue orbs concealed the fury of someone who was constantly sick of being treated like a toy such as her. He roared out of the mud at her, ready to strike like he had dozens of times. Their fur was matted down entirely by the thick mud which drained into the swamp water.

"See, your just like me as I am like you." Vitani stated before he hummed as he looked at her with unrestrained fury. "Don't fight it." Vitani said before she bared her fangs.

"I'll fight you." Akida stated before he threw himself forward, claws sharped to do the maximum.

He looked at her with rage and frustration, eager to end her. He'd end that. This was the final fight they had if he could say something about it.

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show the remains of their battle and such. So, I can don't ruin the story or make Akida a Mary Sue? I'm going to retcon Akida being a prince into being a lion close to the others. Next chapter will be 900-6500 words and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
