Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Prideful Plains. Enjoy the 3500-word chapter. I don't own Lion King; Disney and a few others do.

Akida glanced at the cuts across his fur as he brooded over his loss to Vitani and her words which had struck him similarly to a rhino. He frowned as he stared at the stars.

"She's not coming anytime soon," Akida stated to himself with a sigh. "Why does she always do that? She ALWAYS pushes me and then gets riled up when she manages to push me." Akida added with annoyance as he rolled his eyes.

He cleared his throat and sighed to think of what to do next. He was well aware of what happened when he went into the wilds again. She found him dozens of times while he sighed to himself before he frowned to himself before he sighed to himself before he rolled his head.

(Outlands)

"Runt. I'm surprised you came back." Vitani heard as she rolled her eyes before she slumped down on a stone next to her. "Mom was wondering what happened to you," Nuka said before he shook his head and departed with annoyance as he did so.

The small lioness slowly sat on a stone that wasn't coated in termites. She was well aware that this area was entirely consumed by the insects which had come down to this area entirely is far more annoying than it had any reason to be.

"Hmm," Vitani said while she pressed her head into her paws while she frowned to herself. "Today was fun," Vitani stated with a smile as she turned her attention to other places.

Her friend was sure to show up once again. There was no way Akida wasn't to come and find her. She knew he was probably licking his wounds and plotting how their next battle was to be. It was a simple idea and one which had almost no flaws in it.

Her fangs peeked from her lips as she did so. The idea of battle was a sweet prize that she wanted. There was to be a war between their army and Simba's and Akida was still someone who was planted in the middle of despite his best efforts.

Still? She'd entirely be lying if she didn't enjoy his company at the moment. he was strong, smart, prideful. He'd be a nice warrior for their army if she simply managed to dig a little more and find more holes in her armor when it came down to it. He was also fun to play with as of the second. Both of them wished for a conflict between either of them at the second.

He wasn't to back down from this coming battle at the moment. It was more than a simple pride ego issue between either side and it was something that didn't concern either side.

"He'll break. Each day and he will fall a LITTLE bit closer to the edge." Vitani said before she gripped a stone in her paw. "He doesn't want to be part of their home. He wants to be here and among those who sided with Scar." Vitani said before she flipped the stone onto the ground with a roll of her eyes.

Tomorrow was when he tried his best to escape and come here to battle her once more. She wanted that battle more than anything and it showed in her stance. Tomorrow was when she finally freed him of what lies he had been fed. When this was said and done? He'd be eating from her paw at the time of sunset. It was only a matter of time between then and now. She decided to get some sleep as of now. Vitani was rather hoping that she was honestly true.

(With Akida)

"Akida." Akida heard while he rotated on his paws towards the noise, he started to tilt his head. "Where are you going this time? The edge?" Akida heard as he nodded to them.

He watched his mother walk from the cave towards him. it was honestly odd as he started to ponder. He hadn't seen more male lions beside the king and his son. The young lion didn't at all pry at it. Akida was honestly not one to pry. He wished to honestly. He had not once argued with his mother.

"Yeah," Akida stated before he tilted his head. "I simply want to see the edge. I'll come home by the same time." Akida said while he slowly started to trot towards the next place.

"Akida." His mother stated with a frown starting to cross her lips. "I can see that cut across your face. You got into another brawl with a lion, right?" His mother said to which he raised an eyebrow.

"I was trying to learn to hunt like you," Akida stated while he frowned to himself. "I guess I got a little carried away," Akida stated while he tilted his head.

"There's more to this." Akida heard while started to shake his head. "Stay safe." Akida heard from his mother while she frowned to herself.

"Are you sure?" Akida stated while he tilted his head to the side.

"Yes." He heard as he frowned to himself and then slowly started to trot away before he did so. "There's still plenty we need to talk about when you come home." He heard before he slowly started to sprint away.

He was rather interested in what she said next. He was honestly scared of what to tell her when it came down to her tactics. She wished to be aware of details that had honestly started to bother him.

He leaped down the stone and slowly started to sprint away. She'd send someone to follow him. Not a single person honestly trusted their children to be on their own and while he was aware of why and didn't at all hate it for any reason… He still didn't wish to be on this end of the line.

He sighed to himself and simply started to run faster into the next area as he did so for the moment.

It was something that scared him to no real end at the moment. He paced himself faster and faster as he went further into the wild. trees began to wither and fall to the wayside and stone and gravel arose from their place. The water turned murky as he did so and he pondered so much how the further he went the further the Pridelands dimmed in his own eyes. Perhaps it was simply how he had seen it in his vision and it had been rather odd to behold if he wasn't to lie to himself. The area was always interesting and that seemed to be what drew him further in every day he had come here. It wasn't something he considered at the time nor was he to consider it anytime soon in his mind. He said nothing as he slowly slid to a crawl.

And yet all of this didn't stop him from being able to dodge the lunge from behind. He felt claws slash his shoulder and held in the roar of pain which flashed across his features. He held in the roar and stopped it from leaving his pained lips as he stared at her once more.

"Hey, Akida., Vitani said to which Akida moved his hand from his slash across his shoulder which seemed to bleed.

She had got him good despite himself and his efforts to stop. He held in a growl at her despite the pain it had wrought him.

Vitani smiled as she slid to a stop in front of him. her claws retracted into her paws as he glanced at her, holding in pain as he slapped his bad paw onto the ground. He was far too interested in how this ended for the pain to stop him. All it did was spur him on towards her.

"I'd say ow, but that would honestly be giving credit I'm not entirely sure was earned," Akida growled and stared at her with defiance. "Also? Hi." Akida said while they started to glance at one another with an interest.

They slowly stalked after one another, a pain that hadn't been properly treated lingered in his body. They fell into an all too familiar routine which reminded them they were all too used to this.

"Always fun to play with me, hmm?" Vitani questioned as she flicked her tail at his face. "C'mon. We got all day to play." Vitani purred at her friend while she smirked at the fact he hadn't once calmed down.

It was as clear as day that she wasn't going to back down at the moment… And neither was he. This wasn't to end anytime soon.

"This isn't going to take that long," Akida said while he clenched his claws. "We both are well aware of that. How many times have we done this dance?" Akida questioned while he raised an eyebrow towards her.

"Lot more than people want to happen at the second," Vitani said with a shrug. "And not NEARLY as much as we plan to. This isn't going to end anytime soon. We still aren't done with this fight anytime soon and we both are well aware of that. I'm not going to be the one who steps down." Vitani said while she smirked at him.

He wasn't one to simply attack with no reason and the bait was almost too good for him to falter from trying it… Yet he held himself. He hadn't a reason to try and harm her. Not yet at the least and he wished to keep him from bothering her.

If only his mind had been as calm. He bared his teeth at her and it simply showed that he wanted this battle as badly as she did. It helped that both were the type to do something when someone pushed them. They were interested in how this ended as of the moment. He had a lot to point out what to do next. His body was not one to wait and find the best plan for what to do. He wanted action and she had pressed him into action both ways. It had been something they both desired as of now and they'd be cursed if it wasn't allowed for them to contain it. they wanted it and both were far too happy to greet the other in combat.

A slash at her made him prepare for a real battle as they seemed all too ready for this to come. They had a lot of things on their mind as the two slashed at one another and bared their fangs in a rather interesting gesture as they gnashed their fangs at the other.

"Heh," Vitani said while she rolled her eyes.

He was a lot more interested in how she had managed to find him as of now. it had been something rather interesting to him despite himself and he wasn't one to waste a question. It had been simply building in his mind.

"You aren't stopping me if that's what this is supposed to be," Vitani stated before she smiled at him. "This isn't one to happen as of now. C'mon. Please don't tell me this entire battle is simply going to be me pretending to be afraid of you or something silly." Vitani stated while she ran her claws along the ground with amusement.

It was clear that she wanted to brawl with him and he'd be an idiot to deny her it. They glanced at the other with anger, with eagerness at the hunt. This battle was so worth what came next if they were to go home and both were aware of that.

"Fine," Akida said before he tried to tackle her with a far more bemused smile as he did so.

He almost slammed into her only for her to sprint to the side. She tried to slam into him from his flank which may have thrown him to the floor if it wasn't for the fact that he dodged. They drew their claws and started to circle the other with the spark of amusement glistening in their eyes as they did so.

Were both probably to get in trouble with their families when they came home? Probably. Did both consider it worth it in the end for the sheer amusement that came with this? Yes. It was so in a thousand different ways. Each lion was placing their ego on the line for beating the other in combat and both wished to continue this hunt for a while longer.

He swung his claws at her only for her to dodge it and drag him by his tail into the water. It only took him a second for him to throw her into the water with him. He wasn't at all unamused by her tactics and it seemed to show on his face.

"How many times have we hunted each other?" Vitani questioned as she raised an eyebrow towards her friend.

He raised his eyebrow with interest as he pondered the question before he slowly stopped through the water towards her. She stared at him in silence as her muzzle seemed to show a small smirk as he did so, no doubt amused by the fact that she had thrown him into the water as of now.

"Maybe a dozen times? Maybe more. Yor the one who keeps count." Akida said while he raised an eyebrow towards her. "No. a dozen more than what I said. I remembered. There's a scratch for each time we met." Akida said before he rolled his eyes.

She smiled and nodded. She noticed the glint of anger in his eyes. Not at all at the fact that she was with the Outsiders, Akida made it clear to her that his issue was not at all with who's side in this war she had chosen.

"Yep. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who remembers that." Vitani stated while she leaned on a stone near the edge of the water. "We aren't that different when it comes down to it if I'm honest. It isn't as if we don't enjoy the battles and chases and hunts and whatever we call them at the end of the day. It's not that this war is a big deal at the moment. The war doesn't concern either of us, does it?" Vitani said before she titled her head at him.

He seemed to raise an eyebrow before he tilted his head in response. He was far more bewildered by this. She had been many things, but she didn't lie when it came down to it. Vitani smiled at him which made him far more annoyed at her when it came down to it.

Still? There was a lot on the line for this battle when it comes down to it. She approached him much more easily.

"C'mon, Akida," Vitani stated before she started to pace herself playfully with a smile. "We both know this is fun. Remember, we both honestly know we enjoy this battle when it comes down to it." Vitani said while she tilted her head to the side.

"There are enjoying fights, then there's not," Akida said while he smiled at her, scraping his claws across the floor. "This is personal. We both know you're the one pushing for this fight constantly." Akida said while he smiled at her.

Both Lions felt their blood boil when it came down to it. They wanted this, the claws they showed the other, their fangs snarled at each other. She smirked at him and threw herself towards her with a roll of her eyes.

They rolled around the plains, their claws cutting at the other, teeth trying to slice into fur while they slammed into a bolder before pain lanced up their bodies. They tumbled away from each other and stared at the other with bloodlust in their eyes as they did so.

"Bring it," Akida growled at her before he tilted his head. "I'm winning this battle. I've lost too many times, Vitani." Akida stated before he grits his fangs and snarled at her.

She welcomed it. The sheer excitement of battling some who didn't dare hold their fury back. This was more than she asked for. The only thing that would make it better is if Nuka was here to eat his words about how she'd not find a training partner so easily.

She tried to grab onto him only for the cub to slam into her with the fury of a pack of rabid hyenas. He wasn't much stronger than her, but it did throw her off her feet enough that she questioned how powerful he was.

He shouldered her to the ground and went to pin her to the ground. She'd pay for all the times she constantly underestimated him, pushing him when he hadn't yet tried to get him to fight. She wanted a fight so badly that she'd press him like this? He'd sure as anything give her one before the day ended.

She smirked at him as he tried to pin her down. He finally admitted that he wanted to battle her as much as she wanted to fight him. It wasn't as major a victory as she wanted, but it was enough.

"Nothing to say?" Akida growled as he stared at her, trying his best to keep her from getting back up. "Every single day. Every single time we meet. Always a battle. It's fun, yeah… But you're not stupid, you want something if you're trying this hard to fight. Its why you haven't given up. Honestly? I don't try as hard as you do." Akida said while he glanced at her with a raised eyebrow.

He felt pain in his shoulder. She'd grazed him a lot more than he had expected her to. A lot better than he had predicted... And a lot harder of a battle than he expected. If she was pushing him to this degree? It was obvious both were going to be pushed beyond their limits sooner or later. Perhaps she cared in her twisted way, but it was clear this had just become a real fight and not some simple spar between them.

Fair enough, honestly if he hadn't been pushed to these limits by her? He'd be screaming for some sort of action by now. If she wanted a battle that badly? She'd get one by now, he wasn't going to pull his attacks on her when it came down to her. He wanted to scream at her and rip her apart despite all that was going on inside his head. This had been fun.

She bounded after him with her claws slick with mud as he appeared to growl and leap towards her. She watched as he tilted his body to the side and sent her skidding to the side with a bump from his arm. He had become far too interested in how to stop her despite his best efforts. This wasn't going to end the way she wanted and it wasn't going to be fun for her.

No, she'd need to earn that if he was entirely honest. He wanted her to know how seriously he was taking this battle at the moment. He was going to scream if he lost this, he wasn't planning to at the second which meant he'd be defeating her one way or another. He had been rather hopeful.

"C'mon, Akida. You're not going to be able to stop me at the time." Vitani stated before she seemed to pop her claws out from their holders.

He growled and lunged at her as she seemed to back off, maybe surprised at how he was trying so hard. It made their blood boil at the time when it came down to it. Vitani raised an eyebrow in interest at this and it became obvious that the sooner she ended this fight? The sooner her fun came crashing to an end.

She didn't want that, nor did he. They circled each other with their claws cutting grooves into the soil and their fangs dripping with saliva as they contemplated the other.

'Make a move, give me a reason to wipe that stupid smirk off your face, just give me one reason to do something and I'll make you regret it.' Akida mentally stated towards her as he ramped up his strikes.
