Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Prideful Plains. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own Lion King; Disney and a few others do.

Akida stared down at Vitani who seemed to pant in exhaustion as she stared at him. Their little contest had certainly pushed them to their limits it seemed. He sighed and took a deep breath as did she.

"Tired?" Akida questioned Vitani as he took a gasp of air.

Another nod. There was an honest look of concern peeking through her looks at him. It was clear that both of them still saw some respect in the other. She slowly retracted her claws. This wasn't a fight yet.

"How are you always so upbeat when stuff like this happens, huh?" Vitani asked as Akida shrugged and looked at her with a bit of a sideways glance. "You know I'm still right about one thing. You'd never want to back down when it comes to this. You want to fight me as much as I want to fight you. Don't deny it, it only makes you look weaker at the end." Vitani stated to which Akida hummed and nodded.

"Maybe I do… But why do you want so badly to see me lash out like this, huh? What happens when it does come out and I want to keep fighting you? Ever considered I'd not back down?" Akida asked which garnered a smirk.

"When do you ever consider backing down? You want this type of violence as much as I do. It's fun, it gets your blood pumping." Akida stated before that he seemed to question what to do next.

Still? He was going to be interested in how willing she was willing to push him. It became honestly fun at the second, he'd not lie about it when it came down to it. She wanted it to happen when it came down to it. There was more to question at the time.

"There's a lot more at the moment to do," Akida stated when it came down to it. "Your honestly one of the oddest lions I've ever met," Akida stated before he tilted his face.

"And what happens next, huh? You're as weird as me." Akida stated before he shrugged and looked around with a lot more interest. "How was there going to be more people when it came down to it. There will be a war, they will rip this place apart. Not a lot of people get along when it comes to it. You know that as well as I do." Vitani stated before she seemed to tilt her head.

"Will there?" Akida questioned before he seemed to happen. "Why was there going to be a war?" Akida questioned as he tilted his head and seemed to stare at her.

"And? There will be more lions that don't agree with each other." Akida responded before Vitani raised her eyebrow. "Why? Planning to join them and their army? I doubt that will end well, really do. That war would be pointless. So many people are dead and for nothing. It's going to be a waste at the second." Akida stated before he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

"And what happens if I say no, hmm?" Vitani questioned while they continued to circle one another. "We both know people don't care about being the heroes here. There's a LOT of grudges, just like how we have grudges, you keep forgetting that a lot of lions are like us, a lot of people who like this type of thing either way." Vitani stated to which she couldn't deny it and she knew he wouldn't either.

He seemed more annoyed at the fact that she had stumped him with something he couldn't simply attempt to call her out on. It made him annoyed to know that.

He still wished to stay silent, to find a gap in her words, but there was little to argue with. There would probably be war and he couldn't stop it, he wasn't in charge, nor was he in a position to influence the Pridelands to not go to war. It would be like trying to put out a wildfire with more flames. He didn't at all wish to have that type of fire under his paws, but he knew that she'd back down if given a reason to. It simply didn't matter much to him considering the fact she had almost no real power here.

He growled at Vitani, yet made no move to attack her, no move to try and kill her. It had odd to him, yet he said nothing as of the moment, nothing to make her back down beside his words.

She said nothing as she glanced around the area, far too curious as to what his real endgame would be as of the second. It was far too much for her to bare without finding some fun in the gesture.

"You know I have enough of a point if you're backing down when it comes down to this," Vitani said while she started to look back and forth between her friends.

It had been a rather odd thing, but he still said nothing as of the second. He had been curious as of the second when it came to it. There was so much as of the second when it came to their tactics.

"What is going to happen if the war goes on?" Vitani questioned as to what to do next as of the second. "There was a lot more on the line," Vitani stated before she seemed as if she had been interested as of the second.

She was interested in what to do next. He said nothing, he showed no real signs of backing down when it came down to it. there was a lot more on her plate that hadn't bothered him at the time. She glanced at him as he wiped the mud off his coat, flicking it onto the ground before she rolled her eyes.

Still? He was honestly curious as to the details of their next battle. It was going to be odd when it came down to it. He tilted his head at her while he shook his head at her.

He felt more pain through his body as he sided and looked at her with anger. He wanted payback and was interested in what to do next.

He was going to be ready for what she did next, even if he had to push her to the edge every second. It had been fun and he didn't want it to end, this battle was going to be a lot of fun.

"What is going to happen if you push for war at the second?" Vitani heard from Akida as he seemed to look around what to do next. "We both need to push for peace, anything else and everyone burns when it came down to it," Akida stated before he seemed to grunt in pain.

He felt more pain when it came down to it. There were a lot more questions from it as he seemed to question what to do next. He had been prepared for what to do next. He rolled his eyes at her as both lions growled and prepared for another fight while they seemed to paw at the ground.

"What to do next anyway?" Akida questioned as Vitani seemed to shrug before he tilts his head.

He rolled his eyes at the lioness. Akida didn't have the time for this, nor did he wish to be in charge of this type of talk. He didn't want to be here talking about a war with the rest of the world. He was going to snap at the second if he tried to make sense of this.

She glanced at him with amusement that he hadn't noticed before. He rubbed at his temples, blood flowing from the fresh cuts that she had managed to make on his body. it had been so annoying to see her in this manner.

He sighed and slowly backpedaled from her, curious about what was going to happen next. He was honestly ready to snap if this woman wasn't stopped when it came to it.

She leaned on a stone next to him, taunting him, trying to egg him onto fighting despite all of the problems when it came down to it. She watched as he glanced around the plains with interest.

It was honestly horrible to him when it comes down to it. She had snapped when it came down to this. They were slowly wearing down, him and he. He could sense it in her, she didn't have the same bite she had before. It had become a lot harder when it came down to it.

This had been odder than anything he had been used to. The fact that he had found it to be fun more than anything. Akida leaned on a stone next to him, glancing at the woman who had been in control for such a measure of this dance.

He was honestly curious as to what to do next. He was going to fight her either way, but he was starting to question if this woman hadn't lost her mind. She had driven him to the edge of things already, it wasn't like he had much further to fall with all things considered. He had his brain spinning in his head like a glass ball, it had almost been enough to drive him mad

It had been enough to make him scream, to make his mind shatter like glass. He was honestly interested as of the second. It had been so insane to her at the moment. This had become a lot harder to fathom than he considered.

He was honestly curious as to what was to come. This had been so hard to fathom at the moment, so hard when he considered it. The lioness glanced at him, curious as to what to do next when it came down to it. This had to end sooner or later before one of them fell dead.

"Your insane," Akida stated to which Vitani could only roll her eyes at him as it came down to whom was going to take the blood from the other at the end of the day.

This was tiring and it was SO fun for her at the second. This was going to be hopeful in her eyes, she knew he'd crack like a shell in the wind. She was true

She had pushed him. It had been interesting; he was going to snap sooner or later. He had been interested in what was to come. He was a lot angrier than he seemed.

He tilted his head before he glanced from the side to side. He was honestly curious as of the second.

She sighed and looked around with interest before he sighed and looked into the sky. He smiled to himself before he glanced at her.

He yawned, letting his head flop to the side as he fell silent. Akida sighed before he felt his eyes roll into the back of his head.

He smiled as Vitani seemed to roll her eyes and relaxed as well. It had been fun, real fun. She wasn't aware of what was coming.

He was going to be interested in her plans as of the second. He had fallen silent. She'd fall apart sooner or later.

Yes, fall apart sooner or later. There was more on the horizon.
